There is now a link to the Energy Profiler app now and not just a link to a page with info on it.

    Hi arunkumarscts
You might like to download this application to your device:
    http://www.forum.nokia.com/main/resources/user_experience/power_management/nokia_energy_profiler/
It will at least give you an idea of energy consumption on your N82. You are also quite fortunate in that mine hardly lasts out the day with minimal use, although two hours per day of Bluetooth connection to a Nokia CK-300 carkit must take it's toll on the battery.

  • I would like to know why iPhone 4S Battery backup has been reduced after updating it to 5.1 firmfare

When i bought it, i was getting a gud battery backup of 2 days. Based on my usage.

    Hi aznur,
Article: HT1476 iPhone and iPod touch: Charging the battery
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1476
Charging with a FireWire-based power source is not supported, except on original iPhone and iPod touch (1st generation). If the device is connected to a FireWire-based charger or accessory, this alert screen will appear:
Charging is not supported with this accessory.
    Have a nice day,

  • IPhone 4S - phone switches off before battery percentage has got to 0

iPhone 4S - phone switches off before battery percentage has gone to 0 - usually switches off when it's between 20-30%.
When I try the force restart it has the battery sign.  (Home Button+Power button)
When I plug the charger in it starts charging  from the point it shut off, 20-30%.
    Have tried reset all settings.
Have done a restore and setup as a new phone.
Any way I can get it start charging from 0 instead of where it shut off (20-30%) ?

Bit of a trek to the Apple store + i can't really send it off as I'm using it all the time.
Anything I can do to recalibrate or reset it so battery drains and starts to charge from 0, before I have to go to the Apple store?

  • Has the dictionary got worse in IOS5 or is it me?

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed the dictionary in IOS5 has got worse than IOS4?

I just tried something I had not tried before: Starting my own MBP up in target mode with the installations disc for the Macbook in the drive and starting the macbook up while holding the ALT key. The idea was to enter the boot menu on the Macbook and then boot from the disc drive on my MBP.
However, the same thing happened again: The mouse pointer appeared, but the boot menu did not and there was no hardware shown to boot from.
Even if the HD is busted, shouldn't the Macbook at least show the disc drive (connected via FireWire) in the boot menu?

  • IPhone 3GS with fw 3.1 – battery life gets even worse

I've made the so long attended upgrade to iPhone OS 3.1 and strangely battery life has got even worse than before. The phone is using 10-12% of the battery every hour of standby; usage counter grows by 35-40 minutes for every hour of standby. This happens with a clean install and just email setup (mobileme with push), with restore or partial restore. Turning push off only makes it slightly better.
I was wondring if I were the only one experiencing this...

This is not even funny Jason... Really.
I now have a completely clean phone, installed anew through DFU. Now backups restored. Just setup my mobileme email on it and installed 2 (two) applications. iSip and DevInfo. Having push notifications and push email enabled, I'm loosing power at a rate of *8%/hour while in standby*.
Restoring my backup (which, by the way, is not an "option" but a rather important continuity pre-requisite) lets me have the same horrible battery performance. Turning push notifications and mail push off and booting the phone after that makes battery drain disappear (~1% every 1.5 hours).
Apple declares that using "Push" drains the battery 20% more. Even if this is an approximation, we're not even close to approximately 20% or 30% or even 40% increase. We're talking about battery drain growing 12-fold!
So pray try to help us – poor users – instead of repeating the link we've all seen thousands of times and that, frankly, has very little to do with how our iPhones perform in real life.
    Thank you.

Try to do a reset, if it doesn't work try remove recently added apps this may solve your problem ( like google app because it has happened with me)
Take a look at apps using your location service in privacy, it can cause battery draining.

nb. i havent updated it for a while to its running a 3. something software.

Connect the iPhone to your computer and launch iTunes, then restart the iPhone by holding down the on/off and the home buttons until you see the Apple logo. If that don't fix you problem take a look at this link, http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414

  • HT4859 i broke my iphone and got a new one. My iCloud backup has a backup from the old phone and one from the new phone. The new phone didnt download everything from icloud. Is there a way to download the stuff i didnt get back?

i broke my iphone and got a new one. My iCloud backup has a backup from the old phone and one from the new phone. The new phone didnt download everything from the original icloud backup. Is there a way to download the stuff i didnt get back? please help

You'll have to do another restore from the old phone backup.  But before doing that, tell us what was not restored.  For example is it just photos that didn't get restored?  If so, that seems to be a common problem for many users, judging by the posts left in the forum.  There doesn't seem to be a solution to that problem (other then to tell users to ALWAYS sync photos to a computer and never trust an iCloud backup/restore to save photos.

  • No Battery backup on new BH-109 BLUETOOTH

I got BH-109 BLUETOOTH black colour from SpiceHotSpot, New Delhi. India. I faced a problem of battery backup. I got it replaced from retailer after 10days but I found the same probem in the second piece which belongs to the same lot i.e, April'2011. Kindly help me about the issue. Either the lot is effective or the product is effective??

I am having a hell of trouble with nokia BH-109.. I bought it in July - replaced it within the first month for battery backup issues (the battery only last for one day without any use) - the replaced piece is even worse (the battery won't even last for a day), I checked the usage time and found it to be around 17 hours on an average (without use). I wen to nokia care and replaced it again - stil having same issues..
This time when I went to nokia care they used the headset and told me that it is fine - bought it home, used it for 4 hrs of call and it lasted for 60 whole hours - thought it worked fine, on the next full charge and thereon it ran only 17 hours with just 1/2 hr of call...
I had events when the battery only lasted 5 hours even without a single call..
This model is a waste of money and time.. It shows irregular battery backup... Nokia claims that it will not work with certain models...  IF IT DOES NOT WHY HAVEN'T THEY MENTIONED IT WHEN WE BUY..... Nokia has wasted a lot of my time and money due to this issue.....  Dont buy this product...

  • HT6154 After updating to IOS 7.1 my battery life has gone bezerk.

After updating to IOS 7.1 my battery life has gone bezerk. I just finished a 6 minute call with my bank and the battery life went from 93%-23%???? Then i pkugged it into the charger and the battery insicator went right to 48%. Found this article and followed it to the T to no avail.:
Guide to Solving iOS Battery Drain http://iClarified.com/39722
Please I cannot think of a better phone to use, and this is where apple will make or break me.

Please be more specific. What have you tried already? Please follow the below steps as described also in another topic by Nathan.
    1. Hard reset hold both buttons until Apple logo appears.
    2. Restore from an iTunes sync and backup.  This made a difference for a lot of peopel, battery life got much better.
    3. Limit push notifications (apps and e-mail accounts - set e.g. e-mail to fetch once an hour) to those you really need.
    4. Limit location services to those you really need, and watch to see if the indicator comes up.
    5. Get the app System Activity Monitor to look for a runaway process that is using a lot of CPU.
    6. Suggestion by others to reset all settings.
    7. Suggestion by others that iCloud may be involved, and to try to turn off some iCloud settings.
    8. Limit or turn off 'background app refresh'.
    9. Add apps back in carefully to identify an offending app that is causing CPU or network activity that kills battery life.
10 Also make sure that e-mail is fetched (e.g. every hour) or set to manual instead of pushed.
11 Do you have a good carrier reception? Have you tried to manual set your carrier within your iPhone instead of the 'automatic'?
12 Have you checked if the timezone is set to manual instead of automatic and see if this makes a difference in battery use?
In my case it was a bug with an app that caused the battery drain. I also noticed that the use and stand-by time were exactly the same which is ofcourse not correct. This was all caused by this app which was using GPS tracking all the time. Unfortunately an app such as System Activity Monitor did not indicate that in my case but someone posted this solution on a Dutch forum that the previous version of the app 'Scoupy' had a bug and caused this battery drain.
If you haven't tried every single one of these, please do not post that battery life is terrible.

  • UPS Warning! Running on Battery Backup Power..?

I just got my first Battery Backup UPS - a Tripplite ECO750UPS. Connects to my Mac Pro with a USB cable to detect when my Mac shuts down or sleeps, in order to go into Eco "power saving" mode & turn off peripherals.
I've noticed a couple times this warning message popping up seemingly randomly - "Warning! Your computer is now running on battery backup power, save & shut down soon." No idea why. This thread - http://discussions.info.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=11173663 - offered little help but let me know others are having similar issues.
Running 10.6.4 here, anyone having these problems with previous versions too?
edit: OK I think I have some insight into what is causing this. I know that whenever my air conditioner unit switches on, it causes an electrical dip - the lights noticeably dim for half a second. Each time this has happened ever since I plugged into it, the UPS battery has switched on and the warning has come up on Mac OS. So it's just happening in order to maintain a constant electrical output load.
It's not bad or wrong, it's just a minor annoyance to have the warning come up every time my AC switches on. Is there any way to turn these warnings off?

    The hatter wrote:
Your UPS and Mac Pro should not be on the same circuit though.
Your Mac Pro needs 1000VA UPS.
Use the UPS for other equipment in the house or your office, and try to get the A/C on its own circuit. Ideally have an electrician come in, and recommend running a new outlet to your room.
I agree totally with hatter on this. I can share many instances of hd corruption, etc, that were eventually linked back to horrible power sources.
The hundred or so bucks spent to get a dedicated circuit for "computers only" is well worth it in the long run.
Also, please note that many "consumer level" ups don't have voltage monitoring/regulation. They merely trip to battery when it detects a drop.
The higher level ups monitor and regulate voltage to keep any dips from ever reaching the computer.
Be prepared to spend $500 on a good UPS for a prosumer MacPro setup (additional internal drives, large and/or multiple displays, scanners, etc).

  • After iOS 8 update wifi is so slow and battery life is much worse

After installing iOS8 on my 5s the wifi and 3G has slowed remarkably down. The facebook app now doesn't refresh unless I turn the phone off and on again and safari takes an age to load it's pages. Also the battery life is even worse than before. I used the maps yesterday for 1.5 hours for a trip and it took me from full battery down to 10% in that time. This is really irritating me now, will it be fixed?

Like you I have a 4S running on iOS 8, and since the upgrade to 8 my battery drains like crazy.  I'm not experiencing the wifi issues that some of the other posters are having, but the rapid battery drain seems to be a common issue.  I keep hoping Apple will address this with their updates for iOS 8, but it always seems to be overlooked.

  • Is there a log entry indicating the use of battery backup?

I have a Late 2013 iMac, 27" i7 780m running Mavericks 10.9.4 - Is there an entry in any of the System Report logs that shows whether or not the computer had to make use of a UPC battery backup?
I've experienced some of the same issues people have had with their system not waking from sleep, having to resort to using the power button to get things moving again. Today, however, we had a serious thunderstorm and when I got home the system was shut down (or possibly not wanting to wake from sleep - the iMacs have no glowing light like my old Mac Pro, so there's no way to tell if the thing is shut down, a "heavy sleeper", or what). I'm asking the above question because if the system ever does have to rely on the battery backup while I'm away I want a way to confirm the system is actually using the UPC and shutting down properly (via Power Management settings) and not simply getting knocked out by a power failure.
It's somewhat unrelated, but the not-waking-from-sleep issue factors into this because that problem seems to be unrepeatable under any controlled circumstances. The support documents starts with disconnecting peripherals that might cause an issue, but the problem pops up so infrequently (weeks apart) there's no way to know if a disconnected USB hub is the culprit or a red herring. Today, for example, I'm left wondering if my issue was a power outage (the UPC should have taken care of a safe shutdown) or if I had an iMac not wanting to wake from sleep.

Go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage.  Your backups are listed at the top, along with their sizes.  Note: this will only list your most current backup.  You may have your previous two backups available too but you cannot access any size information about them.
