  • Bar Codes printing in SAPscript form

    Hello everyone,
Please help me with barcodes printing problem:
We are using ECC 6.0, and printer HPLJ 2300 series PCL 6
I have installed BARCODE.DLL, and it is located in my local PC, in folder SAPgui\SAPlpd, i.e. where SAPlpd.exe file is locating.
I printed assets bar code labels using tc S_ALR_87010137, and using script form FIAA_0003, but in print preview there were just solid boxes and after print-out there were no boxes at all, just text! Then I created new script form and assigned new barcode type, but printed barcodes were still invisible on the paper list.
    Where is the problem?

Just do the following check items-
    1) try to print any standard form ( PO, SO etc.) from SAP printer but not through local printer. ( Spool should not be generated; check it in sp02.)
    2) If it printed perfectly, then it is supposed to print the barcode too. You cannot print the barcodes using the local printers. Usually it required special printers
    ( zebra etc..).
else if it is not printing properly tell the basis that they havenot configured the printer properly.
we are doing presently printing of barcodes using both zebra & sap printers.
Let me know, when you are through this basic check list.

  • Bar Code Reading in ABAP, through handheld scanner or say Barcode Reader

    HI,
I want to scan the bar code label through the bar code reader, and get the bar code
    no in sap abap.
Please let me know what settings and coding needs to be done to get the bar code
    no that is scanned.
PLease let me know how i should go about it

    Hi Niranjan,
There are a couple of third-party tools which can directly read the data from the barcode and you can use it in the ABAP program.
Alternatively create a dialog screen. USe the barcode scanner and get the data as an input parameter and based on the input parameter do what ever validation you require and then based on the output of the validation trigger your relevant processing.
    Cheers

  • Can't print bar codes on Laserjet 2840, please help?

Having installed a bar code font on to my PC I thought it would be easy  to print bar code labels for my retail shop but what prints out is just the bar code number instead.  Could someone tell me what I am doing wrong?

I don't have an answer but can suggest a couple of things. I use an old HP Laserjet 2100 with built-in ethnernet. I don't use Appletalk to print but IP printing. Your bridge must have a TCP/IP address. You might be able to use IP printing to send directly to that. Another idea is maybe you need to enable Appletalk on the MBP. By default it's disabled you can turn it on in the networking panel. You might already have that so I'm not sure if that would help. One last thing might if you have the firewall on in the sharing preferences that could be blocking it also.

  • How to print BAR code in SMART Form

    Hi All,
I have the requirement to print BAR CODE in Smartforms.
For this, I create a character format with Bar code in style forms and create a text element in Smart form and associate bar code character format with this text element.
Now when I look the print preview for the data, then it shows me data in bar code format but not in right format i.e. its shows me all the similar block in bar code.
If you look the bar code in SAP script, its always show you bar code with similar block, but in SMART FORM it will show you exact bar code; as in SAP Script, bar code is generated at printer end and in SMARTFORM bar code is generated as graphic in SAP and then sent to printer for print.
PLease let me know, why in SMARTFORM its not showing BAR CODE in correct format in print preview.
    Thanks

    Hi,
To Create a Bar code prefix:
    1) Go to T-code - SPAD -> Full Administration -> Click on Device Type -> Double click the device for which you wish to create the print control -> Click on Print Control tab ->Click on change mode -> Click the plus sign to add a row or prefix say SBP99 (Prefix must start with SBP) -> save you changes , it will ask for request -> create request and save
    2) Now when you go to SE73 if you enter SBP00 for you device it will add the newly created Prefix
Create a character format C1.Assign a barcode to the character format.Check the check box for the barcode.
The place where you are using the field value use like this
    <C1> &itab-field& </C1>.
You will get the field value in the form of barcode.
Which barcode printer are you using ? Can you download this file and see.
    http://www.servopack.de/Files/HB/ZPLcommands.pdf.
It will give an idea about barcode commands.

    Detailed information about SAP Barcodes
A barcode solution consists of the following:
    - a barcode printer
    - a barcode reader
    - a mobile data collection application/program
A barcode label is a special symbology to represent human readable information such as a material number or batch number
    in machine readable format.
There are different symbologies for different applications and different industries. Luckily, you need not worry to much about that as the logistics supply chain has mostly standardized on 3 of 9 and 128 barcode symbologies - which all barcode readers support and which SAP support natively in it's printing protocols.
You can print barcodes from SAP by modifying an existing output form.
Behind every output form is a print program that collects all the data and then pass it to the form. The form contains the layout as well as the font, line and paragraph formats. These forms are designed using SAPScript (a very easy but frustratingly simplistic form format language) or SmartForms that is more of a graphical form design tool.
Barcodes are nothing more than a font definition and is part of the style sheet associated with a particular SAPScript form. The most important aspect is to place a parameter in the line of the form that points to the data element that you want to represent as barcode on the form, i.e. material number. Next you need to set the font for that parameter value to one of the supported barcode symbologies.

  • Printing address bar codes in Appleworks

I use the database function in Appleworks to make a custom invoice system. Each 8.5" by 11" database "card" is an invoice. Prints out very nice, and I spaced things so it fits perfectly in a #9 Window envelope.
Problem is I would like to make more professional invoices, with a return slip. I really would like to be able to print those mailing barcodes you see on invoices from the big companies. I know Microsoft word's label printer supports this.
I have a feeling this could be possible. What I need to know is what font is the bar code (I've seen barcode fonts for Mac), and what do you type to be compatible with the USPS?
    -John

    Hi essenz,
"What I need to know is what font is the bar code (I've seen barcode fonts for Mac), and what do you type to be compatible with the USPS?"
'Ay, there's the rub,' to quote the Prince of Denmark.
Generating barcodes isn't a simple matter of substituting a barcode font for one showing arabic digits. You'll find some the details in the USPS POSTNET™ Barcode Certification, and more detailed specifications for one type of barcode in the USPS Confirmation Services Technical Guide.
A google search on 'usps barcode specifications' will bring up a number of suppliers ready to provide the software and equipment,

  • Bar code for materials.

    Hi Friends,
Our client wants to maintain bar code for the vendor provided material no.s. For vendor materil no.s we are using the old material numbers.so please explain how to use thisbar code for goods reciept, issue etc...please reply....

    Hi Prasanna
A barcode solution consists of the following:
    - a barcode printer
    - a barcode reader
    - a mobile data collection application/program
A barcode label is a special symbology to represent human readable information such as a material number or batch number
    in machine readable format.

Luckily, you need not worry to much about that as the logistics supply chain has mostly standardized on 3 of 9 and 128 barcode symbologies - which all barcode readers support and which SAP support natively in it's printing protocols.

The next part of the equation can be a bit tricky as you will need to get a printer to print that barcode font. Regular laser printers does not normally print barcode fonts, only specialized industrial printers that is specifically designed to support that protocol and that uses specialized label media and heat transfer (resin) ribbon to create the sharp image required for barcodes.
Not to fear though, there are two ways to get around this:
    - You can have your IT department do some research -
most laser printers can accept a font cartridge/dimm chip (similar to computer memory), called a BarDIMM that will allow a laser printer to support the printing of barcodes.
    - Secondly, you can buy software that you can upload in your SAP print Server that will convert the barcode symbology as an image that will print on a regular laser printer. I found that this option results in less sharper barcodes. This option is really if you need to convert a large quantity of printers (>10) to support barcodes.
    - Thirdly, you can buy a third party software like Barcode.dll and install on your frontend PC connected to the laser printer.
Now you have a barcode printed - what next?
Well there are two options, depending on your business requirements:
    - You can use an existing SAP transaction on a regular workstation and get a barcode wedge reader to hook up between the keyboard and the PC. These wedge readers comes in a wand or scanner format. There are even wireless wedge scanners available that allows you to roam a few yards from the workstation to scan a label. This approach is mostly used where you want to prevent human errors in typing in long material, batch or serial numbers in receiving or issuing of material. The problem is that it's just replacing the keyboard input and you are basically locked down in one location and have to bring all the material to that location to process.
    - Another solution is to use SAPConsole transactions
or write your own ABAP Dialog programs that will fit onto a barcode enabled wireless handheld terminal and that will follow the business logic as executed on the shop floor.
These programs are highly complex exercises in industrial engineering and ergonomics because of the limited screen sizes and limited ability to accept keyboard input. The user is instructed step-by-step and only scan and push F-keys to interact with the SAP system. Scan, scan, beep, beep, enter - highly automated.

  • Bar Code Scanning

    Hi,
I have a requirement in which i need to scan the barcode label. The barcode format is Code 39 Modulo 43 and the fields printed on the barcode are not standard one.
Can you please tell me how to decode the Bar-Code or is there any standard function module available for decoding?
    Regards,
    Varun

    Hi Varun,
SAP AII does support barcode scanning. It support EAN 128 standard. Inorder to define your own barcode one need to define it in SPRO in barcode settings the standard to be used. The documentation on barcode setting in SPRO details out how to define barcode settings along with delimiters and other relevant details.
This standard you define needs to be assigned to the device group with particular location in SAP Easy Acccess menu.
There are some BADI and class interfaces available e.g CL_ARL_SRV_BARCODE... check for BADI implementations. You can see the standard methods in case of Mobile devices which can be used to decode the barcode or convert it to SGTIN or SSCC format to be used in rules.
Not sure about the standard you have mentioned.

  • Bar coding label

    Dear all,
As per my client requirement they are going to implement the bar coding label from SAP and they are looking for information like material code, description, storage-bin and purchase order number all the informations have to store in the single bar code.....i checked some standard bar code like C128A,EAN8 all the barcode supporting single information....is there any standard barcode
    supporting multiple information....?
    Thanks

Use EAN number for material (in Basic data 1).
This number is unique and can be used for bar code scanner/RFID.

  • Scanning a bar code

I have a curve 9300 and I am unable to scan a bar code and 9 times out of 10 it causes my phone to freeze and I have to remove the battery is it a problem with the software or with the phone its self

Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner:
With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot. A reboot in this manner is prescirbed for most gltiches and operating system errors, and you will lose no data on the device doing this.
Now, try the QR code scan again.

  • How to change predefine bar code size in smartform style

    hi,
in smartstyles--character setting, when we define barcode, there is one bar code "BC_C128B" with width 9CM. May i know how to change it into smaller size. Thanks.
    regards,
    BK

    Try this:
    Go to SE73 transaction code
Look for the barcode you want.
Go to edit mode make a copy of this.
change the width and height to the one you want.
Attach this new barcode in the device type you are using in printer barcodes button in SE73
In the prefix - create a new printer control eg. SBP99
    in the control sequence part:
    eg.
    BY2,3.0,80BCN,,N,N,N,N^FD>9
The 80 here corresponds to 1 cm height. This is in DPI and depends on the zebra label printer default.
Download ZPL II programming guide in Zebra website to give you more details on the commands to use.
    Hope this helps.

  • Bar codes in Smart Forms

    Hello,
Maybe anyone could provide short guidance how to create SmartForm for fixed assets barcode labeling?

    hi,
You need to use a SMARTSTYLE and create a CHAR format and create a BAR Code there and use it in the Smartform.
If you need more info, goto Transaction : SMARTSYLES, do an F4 and in the text area, look for Bar Codes. And see how these Styles are used in the Smartforms.
If somehow you can't preview it properly and the printout didn't show any barcode at all..
First try to use Standard Barcodes like TYPNR or RSNUM etc in the charcter format...
You can preview the output at any moment IF YOU USE THE CORRECT BARCODE FORMAT.
But printer should support barcode printing for taking printout. Otherwise in printout it will print junk values...
If you want to print bar codes from R/3 using device type HPLJ4, HPLJ5, HPLJ5SI or HPLJ4000 on HP LaserJet 4, 5, 6 or 4000 series printers, you need what is known as a SIMM module (IC card). This SIMM module is called "JetCAPS Intelligent Barcode SIMM" and can be obtained for most HP LaserJet 4, 5, 6 and Laser Jet 4000 printers. For more detailed information regarding barcode printers refer to Notes 5196, 121305, 119471
    Hope this helps.
