Battery charging never st

Hello everyone!
My Zen 4GB which I bought 2 months ago has a problem with its battery. When I bought it, everything was working as it should: when the battery was fully charged, the flashing lightning bolt icon changed to a power plug.
I don't exactly remember when the problem began, but now the charging never stops and the lightning bolt icon is always flashing. No matter how long it is plugged, the power plug icon, which indicates full charge, just won't show up. But if I then unplug & replug it in the USB, the power plug icon appears, and on the Properties window on the computer the charge shows 00%. So the player seems to charge itself fully, but the charge stopping system doesn't seem to work properly.
What should I do?

Several steps:
1. See if you can discharge the Zen almost all the way down and then recharge it to see if the plug indication comes in and halts the charging.
2. Try another USB port or charge the Zen directly into the PC without a USB hub.
3. Try charging on another PC
4. Try charging without a PC using an external charger.
5. If the above steps do not fix the problem then contact Creative.

  • Adapter Light Always Red, Battery Charge Never Gets Past 99%

    Hi.
My 2007 MacBook Pro's adapter is now showing only the orange/red light and never getting green. Also, the taskbar never shows 100% battery charge when the adapter is plugged in, but it does when you first remove the adapter.
My battery life is pretty short nowadays (never more than 45 to 60 minutes) and it's getting pretty hot near where the adapter connects. My fans seem to be running a lot more than usual, too.
    Any ideas?

    Do non-OEM batteries exist?
"Third-party" may be the better-understood term (I get "OEM" but others may not). Yes, there are some out there. However, one key item makes me nervous about them.
Other World Computing (OWC) sells an amazing number of Mac add-ons and replacement parts. It's my personal experience that they give excellent service after the sale, standing behind what they sell. OWC carries third-party batteries for Mac portables going back to the G3 Wallstreet, but they do not list any MBP batteries. This makes me think that they don't have confidence in what's out there.
Here is a site listing third-party MBP batteries (scroll down a bit):
    http://www.global-batteries.com/index.php/cPath/1_12/sort/2a/page/1
Note that the prices aren't much less that what Apple charges, especially for the 17: model. I ordered a battery for a Wallstreet PowerBook from that vendor and it was identical to an Apple-branded battery yin every way except the sticker on it. It was a good battery, but I have no way of knowing if their MBP batteries are from the same vendor as the Wallstreet batteries.

Tried re charging through the computer and through the power but no response the phone is totally black... Tried connecting to I tunes and no response.. The thing  is that I bought the I phone 5 on the 23 rd December 2012 from Manhattan new York and I live in Qatar and there is no service centre in qatar .. I am now without a phone although I paid 706$ and that's a big amount .. I am disappointed .. I bought an original phone from the original apple store and I ended up with a product that didn't survive for a month.. What quality assurance do the apple have on their products...I need help here

    I appreciate the fast reply.
Well, I checked the iphone and the battery charged going from the bolt to the plug in the upper right hand corner very quickly. On my other cell phones, charging took a REAL long time.
Again, is this normal? I unplugged the iphone from the charger and I am going to monitor the battery power today. I find it odd that the battery would work on standby for 4 days without recharging the battery and then start doing something wacky. Any thoughts?

If i had put it on sleep even then it wont turn on it will work as usual as it is suppose to do. I went to icare twice and they game me the device back after 1-2 weeks saying it is now not giving any issue but when i will used it next morning again same thing happened. It's like i can never go out anywhere with the laptop outside as i have to first charge it and then turn it on. Icare wont replace my device they only say if there is any issue with the hardware we will replace that hardware but i think it is useless because they don't know what the issue is. Can someone help me out what to do now ? It's been to iCare ever since i bought it now i don't want them to again do the same thing.

  • Battery charge info in status bar is incorrect!  HELP!

This issue started a day or two ago and at first I thought it was no big deal, but it's actually quite a problem! I've got a 15.4" Macbook Pro that I bought in May, and have never had any problems up until this point. But then I noticed that the icon in the status bar where it says the percentage of battery charge and says whether it's running off battery or it's plugged in - it's WRONG. It's stuck at 99% and says it's plugged in. All the time. Even when it's almost dead and not plugged in. So I can't tell how much battery charge it has left. In all of the places where you can view info about the battery, the info is wrong - it says it's fully charged, that I have a long time left, etc. but it's not true. So now it can completely out of batteries and shut down and I won't be able to tell that it's running low.
Has anyone had this problem? What do I do? Is this a software or a hardware issue? HELP!

Have you tried resetting the PRAM ?

Restore to factory settings. That will use the latest iOS and then restore from a backup.
Never, never, never attempt an update/upgrade on any portable computer device without plugging it into its AC charger.

  • Random drop in battery charge while using plugged-in computer

    Hey everyone,
I bought my Macbook Pro a couple weeks ago and have generally used it while it is plugged in. Recently I've noticed that while I am using it, the battery charge will suddenly drop from 100% to around 50-60% and the MagSafe adapter will change from green to amber and begin charging the battery until it reaches 100% again. I calibrated the battery the day that I got it and I have never had a problem like this until now. CoconutBattery even says that my battery capacity is more than 100% of what it should be. Please let me know if this is something I should worry about!

I just noticed it happening again.
    very strange.
    AC Adapter connected and green
icon in menu bar shows AC is connected, not charging.
system profiler shows -1900 to -2500 mA
system profiler shows Fully Charged: No
    system profiler shows Charging: No
I am starting to suspect it's related to the ipad being connected, as that takes a good chunk of power to charge.
I wonder if what's happening is that that with everything powered up on the macbook (External display, external Firewire hard drive, USB keyboard, Screen lit up, iPad connected) if it's somehow exceeding the capacity of the magsafe 85W power supply.
    to test this out,
I've disconnected the ipad, firewire hard drive, and second display,
done a SMB and PRAM reset
and am charging the battery now.
after that I'll do a calibrate and try to avoid connecting things for the next few days to see what happens.

  • Y50 battery charging problems

    hello,
received my new y50 a few days ago and began seting it up. the first few hours it was working fine. battery charged up to the full 100%, i then disconected the power cord to let the battery drain down to about 20%. i then plugged it back in and shut the computer down left it charging overnight. this is when the problems started.
waking up the next day i turn it back on to see that the battery is only at 21%. no mater how long i left it charging it did not change from 21%. So i decide to unplug it again to let it fully discharge. while unplugged it ran for another ~hour all the time staying at 21% until i finally shut off out of nowhere.
plugged in the cord and turned it back on, battery shows 0% plugged in, charging. but it never gains any % charge just stuck there. i do some reading online and decide to do the generic power down, unplug power cord and remove battery, hold power button for 30 seconds, then reconnect everything and power up. When it boots up the battery indicator now shows 2% and over the course of the next 10-12 hours it increased by mabe 30% more. the indicator NEVER changes its percent the only way to see the change in the charge is to shutdown/restart.
today is the third day and after many hours of use i got stuck at around 76% (only reaching this number by restarting every few hours to get a new updated battery charge%)  since it stayed stuck at 76% for a while i went for the more hardcore fix ive seen online:
power down> unplug power cord>remove battery>plugin power cord and startup on power cord only>uninstalled the microsoft acpi-compliant control method battery driver>shut down>re-installed battery>plugged in cord and restarted. the driver then automatically re-installed itself and brings me to where i am now.
now a few hours since doing that im up to 83% charge, but same problem remains the only way to update the charge % is by restarting/shutdown and occasionally i can remove the power cord and plug it back in while computer is on and it will update.
Any advice or suggestions on what to do, the 2 main problems i see are:
    1. battery charge % doesnt update dynamically, requires power down of some form to update it
    2. over 24 hours of being 'plugged in,chargin' just to charge ~80%

i have found the culprit to the problem, but it is one that doesnt make much sense to me.
if i try to install the intel video drivers from the y50-70 drivers page in lenovo support, or if i try to install the intel video driver from windows update, i lose the functionality of the battery indicator. it does show when its connected to ac or runnig on battery power, but it wont update the % load nor time remaining. only way to charge to full is when off.
i did ANOTHER fresh install and am currently running with all drivers installed except for any version of intel video driver and the battery indicator and charging times when powered on are functioning.
any chance to get new intel video drivers for win 8.1 for hte y50-70?

  • I can't get rid of the battery charged symbol

Even when I switch off my ipod, the battery charged symbol stays. When I have used the fully charged ipod for 30 minutes or so and switch it off, the next day the battery is already drained. I think that this is due to the battery symbol never going away. That must use up the battery?? Can someone help?

I have this same problem!! I posted the other day and no one has responded yet. I kept trying to reset mine and the "charged" symbol would not go away.. Then finally after re-setting about 20 times.. the battery showed almost all the way dead.. Then I re-charged it and it worked normal. Then I just charged it again and it's doing the same thing. Constantly shows the "charged" symbol in the right hand corner and when I shut it off it appears on the screen.. AHHHH!!!

nareshjaswani, try this, while charging your Z10 with the OEM wall charger, leave it to charge an hour or so, and while still connected to the charger and the Z10 is powered on, remove the battery for a minute and replace to reboot. This will often reset the on-device battery meter on Z10 to correctly reflect the battery charge.

  • Not getting full battery charge

I've had my nano since December, recharge it by plugging it into my computer's USB port. I haven't changed anything, unplugged anything, etc. The battery has never lasted as long as advertised (more like 9 hours) but this week it's not even getting fully charged overnight. The battery icon shows the plug as if it's charging, and never gets to the lightning bolt. I've unplugged it and used it, sure enough it's not fully charged and now the battery lasts about 4 hours.
I updated my iPod software and iTunes software in January (less than a month after receiving the unit!). Do I need another update? It shouldn't be worn out, I've only charged the unit maybe 20 times. Anyone else having this problem?
      Windows XP

That's kind of messed up, I've had my nano since october or november, don't remember which month I purchased it, I'm pretty sure it was october. Here is what I do to conserve battery life on my nano:
    1. Use the backlight when you are in dark rooms and stuff, if in a well lighted room then there is no need for the backlight, this means turn the back light off completely.
    2. Don't have the volume turned up as this requires alot of battery, if you have a problem with surrounding noise than get yourself a pair of $14.00 Koss noise reduction increased bass earbuds at your local Target, by the way these are great because they they use a memory foam type solution to ensure a great fit every time and they are also priced well and they reduce noise well.
    3. Convert all your music to AAC format, this also helps
    4. Make sure your nano's software is update, this tremendously helps, because apple does release software updates that will improve your batteries performance.
    5. When you go to sleep let your nano charge overnight, this might be your problem.
If all else fails send it in to Apple.

  • IPod mini serial number and battery charging

This is a weird question that I hope someone can help me with. I purchased a refurbished mini (silver) on eBay for my daughter, because I love my mini, but I couldn't by a new one. I'm having battery charging issues (it won't hold a charge even after being on the charger (USB to Mac iBook) overnight. I wanted to see if there was still warranty available on it, but when I typed the serial number on the back of the iPod into the "check warranty" box on the Apple support home page it said it wasn't a correct serial number.
The back of the iPod (from top to bottom) has the apple logo, an HP logo (I wonder if it was originally packaged with an HP computer?), a weird holographic sticker of some kind, the size (4 MB), then the serial number. The serial number does look significantly different than the one on my blue mini.
Could it be that apple handed the warranty support on this iPod to HP?
iBook G4   Mac OS X (10.3.9)   iPod mini (blue)

    Kyle,
Thanks for your help. I will check the Hp website for warranty information for her iPod.
I keep my iBook set to never go to sleep when it's on the power adapter (I regularly charge my iPod overnight on it, and always use the power adapter when charging).
I reset her iPod and it seems to have solved the charging problem. It may have been an indicator problem — I saw some posts about that. I am having my daughter listen to her iPod all day today and see how long the battery lasts.
    Your post was very helpful!

  • Battery charges to about 83%

    Hi
My iBook Dual-USB is displaying an odd behaviour. I had a battery aged around 2 years (around 350 charge cycles). It didn't charge anymore to 100% but when it reached 80-83% the 4 green LEDS started blinking together; eventually stopped blinking all together, but the colored ring around the adaptor port remained orange. When I turned on the Mac, the battery showed around 83% charge, never going any higher.
Si I decided to buy a new battery. First time round it charged to 95%, but it is now on its 4th charge cycle and is already displaying the same behaviour as the old battery.
Could it be my power adapter that's on the blink? I've tried resetting the Power Manager and PRAM but that doesn't solve anything.
If I need to buy a new adapter, is it OK to buy a 65W one or should it be 45W as the original one? My Apple Store only seems to sell the 65W model.
    Cheers,
    Kris

Thanks for your advice. I bought a new PowerBook G4 last month and tried the power adapter that came with it on my iBook, but nothing. It still loads to about 83%, then stops loading. The ring remains amber, tough the battery icon in the menu bar turns to "charged". It's a real mystery. The only thing that I can think of is that 83% is about 5/6 of 100%. So if the battery is a 6-cell one (what I presume) there something must be going wrong with charging the 6th cell... (sounds a bit like a murder mystery).

  • Battery capacity never 100% ??

I'm using Nokia N900 for few months and my battery is never 100% charged, when I get message "Battery full" I check and battery is always 93.5% or 96.4% is that normal ???

thats normal, mine usually hit 97% tho
but it depends on its quality

I can't restart the iphone to reset or restore. I held the homebutton down and the homebutton + sleepbutton down at the same time. The apple doesn't even appear.
I've also tried connecting it to the charger. It's not charging and dosn't recongize it.
I tried connecting the phone to itunes on the computer to see if it registered and charged it but that didn't work either.
