Battery charging problem in compaq presario cq40-330tu

My laptop battery is charging only 1-2 mins after that ac adapter stops and laptop totally runs on battery but when I remove the battery and run laptop only using the ac adapter it runs well and battery is also new can anyone please solve this problem?????

    I've Transcend 2GB DDR2 667 memory and put it in my laptop (Compaq Presario CQ40-108tu). It read the whole 4GB memory coz I'm using Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit but it doesn't have an audio. I've try to troubleshoot it, first try it with only 2GB memory and it does have audio. Then i try it with 3GB memory and it has a audio. Then i try switch the other 2gb memory and repeated what I've done and it does have an Audio. Then i've try again with 4GB but it really doesn't have audio/sound.
    If you know the how to fix this problem please help me...thx

    i am using cq40-142tu and I am downgrading it from Vista to Windows XP Service Pack 3, got everything working except the audio (IDT High Definition Audio Codec).i installed UAA and it work fine, Unfortunately, IDT Def Audio gone after rebooting. can anyone help??

    hi, my laptop just sent to hp service center to maintain few weeks ago.. coz of laptop cannot on...
    now i'm facing another problem after laptop has been sent back to me that the audio sound was disappear automatically...
    starting is just need to restart the laptop then sound will come back... but this time even getting few times restart... still didn't have sound..
    at control panel audio sound.. it's just write that "no audio sound"..
    device manager i have check there is no miss driver for audio sound.
    i have try to install the software from the support driver... cannot install and ERROR..
    Another things i found out that.. the laptop is using for conenxant audio sound.. when the laptop didnt have any sound.. the control panel and device manager din have conenxant audio sound device... seems like the software was disappear...
    i have post the same problem.. but din have any reply...
    our problem is same... now no more sound pop out again even after few times to restart the windows....

         I got a Compaq presario CQ40 notebook. My battery displays ....plugged in, not charging....I guess reason is that my battery        has dried up....so i would like to ask that is it a safe using that battery for few days .....or it has chances to explode.......its urgent .      also i would like to know the price of replacement of new battery.

    If your power adapter is rated for 90Watts, then my next thought would be to try a different 12 cell battery from a different manufacturer. Most (if not all...) newer batteries have a small chip inside that relays information back to the charging circuit in your laptop. This is what "tells" your laptop charging percentage of the battery, battery status and how much to charge it. Either the new battery has a defective chip, or it's missing... At least thats what it sounds like to me.
    You should have some type of guarantee from the website if battery is DOA from the start.

  • Compaq Presario CQ40-327TU Notebook PC Display problem

    Hi,
    My product is Compaq Presario CQ40-327TU Notebook PC originally with Windows XP edition.  Recently I installed Windows 7 in my laptop from USB pen drive.  Installation went fine, but it does not ask for C drive format.  I installed in the C drive where Windows XP installed previously .  After installation of my laptop working fine.  Some times the screen goes blank (black) and come back after few minutes and in notification area it shows "Display driver Intel Graphics Accelerator Drivers for Windows 7 (R) stopped responding and has successfully recovered." like that I am getting a notification.  In my system information, I checked it shows Windows 7 in OS.  It happens only when I toggle to different windows or applications.  I checked display adapters in device manager and it shows "Mobile Intel(R) 45 Express Chipset Family (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM 1.1)" .  When I tried to update display adapter it showed already uptodate.  Can I expect some solution for my problem here.   Also after OS installed I found Windows.old folder in C drive.  Can I removed that folder?

  • Unable to boot Compaq Presario CQ40-340TU

    Hi I have a Compaq Presario CQ40-340TU laptop. My problem is that I can't boot. I already change the harddisk since there are bad sector. Then when I connect my new hard disk, the laptop can not detect it, so i try connecting the new hardisk on my desktop, and installed Vista for the OS. When I return the new harddisk with installed Vista OS, I still can't boot the laptop.
     I also try to boot the new hard disk in my desktop,it works fine. So i think there's some problem on my laptop?
    Anybody know what seems to be the problem? Please help

    check whether the HDD is dtected in the BIOS or not !  do that by tapping F10 while the NB boots...if the hdd is not detected then u need to get another hdd....if the hdd is detected then run the self test.....if no error comes then take the NB along with the HDD and ask for the compatibility at the store...

    Today when I open up my laptop's screen starts fading at full angle. But alfter little closing the lid every thing is fine. Again opening the screen lid at full. It again starts fading with blue color. What's that problem .

    hi every HP products owners,
    I’ve bought Compaq Presario CQ40-106TU notebook 3 weeks ago, till now, when I play music or movies, every 5~6 minutes I hear a short distorted noise thru earphone or speakers.
    I have uninstalled and reinstalled sound driver. I have fully recovered my notebook, but this issue is still persisting.
    When it is mute or I don’t play music or movie there is no noise. in case of all kind of music or movies, online, radio, playing by all kind of media player same as windows media player, jet Audio, winamp, i have this problem.
    the notebook has a IDT High Definition Audio CODEC sound system. in sound card property it is mentioned that sound system works properly, but this problem really makes me mad.
    The noise sometimes interrupts the music for an instant.
    What can I do? Is it hardware problem?
    I appreciate anykind of help or instructions.

  • What do white and orange battery charger lights signify? [presario cq62-214nr]

    Just next to where the AC battery charger plugs into my Presario  cq62-214nr there's an LED light that changes color, and may remain on continuously, or flash, in different ways at different times.
    Here are some of the ways in which the lights display:
    - white light continuously on
    - white light flashing on and off every two seconds
    - white light on for one second, then orange light on for one second, then this sequence repeated [in other
                   words, alternating white and orange lights flashing]
    - orange light flashing on and off every two seconds
    Could someone tell me what these different LED signals mean? And also, if there are other LED signals that are possible, but I haven't mentioned them, I'd be interested to know what they mean, too.

    No, I didn't charge it a lot in the past.
    After several hours the charger light didn't change to green. So I finally called Apple explaining my problem and they told me that if I re-calibrated and resetted the SMC without results then the battery should be faulty. Now I have ordered a new $139 battery from the AppleStore (taxes included), I hope once it get's here the problem will be solved, otherwise I will literally through the laptop though the window!!
    By the way, they told me that I'm not elegible for AppleCare so I must buy the parts by myself.
    My order still says "not yet shipped", how long will it stay before changing to "prepared for shipment"?

  • 2nd dead iPod Touch 4G in 2 months?  Battery/charging problems!

    Hi everyone,
    It seems as of tonight that I will have to return my second iPod Touch 4G in the last two months. In both cases, it was an issue where the device would no longer charge, and became very hot on the top of the back panel when the device was turned on even for a few seconds (while not being plugged in). In the first case, the device seemed to be defective from the time I opened the box, which was confirmed at an Apple Store, but they asked me to ship it to Apple Repair to be checked out. Apple took a very long time to get a replacement to me, but was good about that problem, and I was happy with the replacement for the past month when all of a sudden tonight the new one would not change and became very hot.
    Is this an issue that anyone else has seen? I essentially only charged it off of my laptop or a wall charger unit, but it seems like the battery essentially is shorting out. I love this device, but actually need to use a PDA-type device enough that I am questioning whether I should get a replacement or go back to my old Palm TX.
    Thanks for any thoughts/feedback on my iPod Touch 4G battery/charging problems.

    Most battery complaints complain about loss of charge. The iPod is designed to lose heat through the back as the battery discharges. This is most common when using the device a lot - like playing games. If yours will no loner charge, by all means return it to Apple.
    As far as being a PDA goes, it is as good as any smart phone out there. The PDA, as you once knew it, is dead and has been for 5+ years. Take your iPod to an Apple store and insist on a replacement.

  • Satellite A60: battery charging problem

    Hey,
    I have a toshiba satellite A60 notebook. My notebook is 2 years old. After I used my laptop in battery mode, it fell out because the battery was empty. When I plugged it in on the net, the battery led flashed amber for less than a second and went out again. The battery won't charge anymore and the batteryled is out.
    Windows detects the battery though. The laptop still keeps running on the battery for some minutes. I already had this problem a year ago and after a few months the battery started charging again.
    Does anyone have a simular problem and how do you solve it?

    Possibly the battery cannot charge properly because it has a malfunction.
    Generally the battery performance decreases in process of time.
    I read that you can charge and discharge the battery about 500 times and then the performance goes down.
    You can try to remove the battery for a several time. After this time try to charge it.
    I would also recommend checking if this issue happens also with a new battery.
    But its also possible that there is something wrong with the power supply electronic.
    This could have a bad influence on the charging procedure.
    I have also read that the BIOS update have solved some battery charging problems.
    But if the battery charging has worked since 2 years so I assume the BIOS is ok.
    However, check it with a new battery.
