Battery cutting out

Hello, please help - my battery is showing as normal and showing charged.  However, my macbook switches off if not connected to a power source.  I cannot switch it on without charger being connected.  It attempts to switch on (you hear the start up apple noise) then display goes blank and power cuts out.
What can i do to fix this?
Thanks

  • 3GS battery cutting out/shutting down

Ive had my 3GS for a year now and it's starting to shut down at 40/50% battery does anyone know why or tell me why this is happening. The back of my phone does get rather hotbefore it shuts down. I close all my apps after I use them and I'm a bit concerned that my phone won' last till the end of my contract. Is its case of getting a new battery?
Has this happened to anyone else?
    Thanks

You are correct These are features of faulty battery. If you have warranty or AppleCare make Genius Reservation and take to Apple. If no coverage, do same and take to Apple for quick battery diagnostic testing.

    Hi
    No audio on DVD disc.
    Most common origin.
    1. Imported audio from iTunes.
    • In iTunes copy out as an audio-CD .aiff
    • Use this in Your movie project
    2. Low - Free Space on Start-up/Boot/Internal/Mac OS Hard disk makes it hard for iMovie to work as intended.
Down to 1.3 GB and it doesn’t work - especially audio don’t migrate over to Media Browser
    (iM’08 & 09)
    3. Material in iMovie’08 & 09 - Shared to Media Browser and here selected as Large
large.m4v. It silenced out this project in iDVD. By making a slight alteration - provocing it to ask for a new Share/Publish to Media Browser and here selecting 640x480 - and audio was back when a new iDVD project was created including this movie.
    176x144
    480x360
    640x480
    720x540    960x540
    4. Strange audio formats like .mp3, .avi etc.
    • Change them to .aiff. Use an audio editor like Audacity (free)
    5. Main audio is set to off in System Preferences - Does this by it self - Don’t know why
    Cheque Audio-Out resp. Audio-In
    6. Ed Hanna
Had the same problem; some Googling around gave me a kludgy, but effective fix
Downgrade Perian from recent versions back to version 1.0.
That worked for me, and so far I haven't encountered any deficiencies—except it takes more advanced versions of Perian to enable QuickTime to handle subtitles in .srt format—that I have noticed.
    7. GarageBand fix.
In this set audio to 44.1 kHz (Klaus1 suggestion)
(if this don’t work try 48 kHz - me guessing)
    Before burning the DVD.
    • Do a DiskImage (File menu and down)
    • Double click on the .img file
    • Test it with Apple DVD-player
If it’s OK then make Your DVD.
Burn at x1 speed.... (or x4)
    • In iDVD 08 - or - 09
    • Burn from DiskImage with Apple’s Disk Utilities application
    • OR burn with Roxio Toast™ if You got it

  • Sudden power cut out when battery is not fully depleted?

My MacBook Pro is misbehaving - when running on battery it will spontaneously cut out as if someone has yanked the battery out - no warning. Its doing this seemingly unrelated to how much power is left, and gives no warning messages at all. Any ideas?

Your battery may need calibration.  (The battery may be empty before it is recognized as being empty.)  Try this:

  • My battery keeps cutting out on my 4s

My battery keeps cutting out on my 4s with around 20% remaining. I've got 7.1 and tried things like resetting settings etc. is it time for a new battery?

I don't remember what it was that I installed but the strangest thing was that a few weeks ago it just started working normally.
Ther was no update to fix it. In the morning it was doing the usual after it went to sleep and in the afternoon it didn't and it has been ok ever since.
The Genius Bar had suggested re booting the router as that might be the problem but I hadn't got round to it.

  • My 3GS 32gb Iphone has just started cutting out even when battery is almost charged - I have to charge it for a short time to prompt it back into action - I now have to watch apps with the charger connected no problems then?

I have just started getting a problem with my 17 month old 3GS 32gb Iphone (no heavy use) in the sense that it keeps randomly cutting out and it requires a short boost charge to get it started again even when the battery is charged between 70 to 90%.
    Any suggestions?

  • Dropped MacBook Pro i5 Mid 2012 Fan tries to spin but cuts out, Battery Charging Indicator light showing but cuts out

    Good evening,
A few weeks ago i dropped my MacBook Pro (i5 Mid 2012) and it failed to turn on, battery had charge in it at the time.
When i press the power button nothing happens. I have also tried resetting the SMC, nothing happens.
Next i plugged in the mag safe charger, before i pressed the power button i saw the charging light come on for a second then cut out.
If i press the power buttong, nothing happens.
I opened the back of the machine and tried the above steps again to see what happened.
    1. When i press the power button nothing happens.
    2. When i plugged in the mag safe charger, before ti pressed the power button i see the fan starts to spin for maybe 2 seconds then stops. I hear the hard drive start to spin but that also stops at the same time, during this the front batter charging indicator light also illuminates, but also cuts out.
Its like when you attach the charger it wants to do something but stops everything after 2 seconds. I left it plugged in for maybe 1 min and its just repeated this action maybe 20 times.
At no stage when i press the power buttong, plugged in or not does it react.
I have taken out the hard drive and plugged into another manchine as an external drive and it works perfectly. Hard drive is no problem! From what i can see all connections are ok, and appear to be plugged in correctly, no burn marks or damage visible.
    Logic board failure from impact?
    Thanks,
    Gary

  • HT201263 MY IPHONE 5 WILL NOT CHARGE AT ALL AFTER THE BATTERY RAN OUT. ITUNES IS NOT PICKING UP THE IPHONE AND TRIED SEVERAL GENUINE CHARGERS AND STILL IS NOT CHARGING JUST A BLACK SCREEN. THE PHONE HASN`T BEEN DROPPED OR GOT WATER IN IT. IT ONLY 12 MONTH

I have the Iphone 5, it is just over 12 months old, and it was low on charge, by the time I could get to a charger it had cut out. So i plugged it in the charger like no other time, went back after 10mins and noticed the screen was still black. So i tried to turn it on but nothing still black screen, i changed the charger for my other apple charger and the same thing happened. i decided to plug it in using the usb in the computer and still the same thing has happened. Took it to the apple genuis team to be told they can`t do anything, and now its out of its 12 months warranty makes it even more difficult. Has anyone else had this issue, this is my 4th iphone since they released them and am very dissappointed to say the least that the iphone 5 for me seems to have a life span on just over 12 months and no one is prepared to take any responsiblity as i have not damaged it. One extremely dissappointed Iphone user. Any ideas on how to get it working again?

    Hello, Obeynelson.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I understand your iPhone restarts on it's own and will not power on.  I would start with the troubleshooting steps that I have attached below.  Try these steps and please reply back if the issue persists.
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, see the section labeled Issue not resolved.

  • Video Cuts out After 20 Minutes

With my iPod video coming soon I am preparing movies to put onto my iPod. I convert DVDs into MPEG1s, then MPEG1s into uncompressed AVIs because QT can take audio and video from AVIs. My final uncompressed AVI is perfect, audio and video all the way through. Now, when I convert this AVI to an iPod format movie (320x240), a QT movie (.mov), or a MPEG4 (I have tried all three), it seems to work fine, no errors or anything. Then when I play the result, the audio goes all the way through, but the video cuts out to a white screen after 20 minutes. Is this fixable or do I have to wait for a QT update? By the way, the movie is 90-100 minutes long.

You are converting a DVD (MPEG-2 format) to MPEG-1 format and then to .avi file. This new (now compressed twice) file is compressed again (conversion to .mov).
Too many steps and way too much re-compression.
You should search for some software that will export from MPEG-2 to the iPod settings.
The white screen issue is probably caused by broken time codes (the MPEG-1 file, I suspect).
I've seen new software releases designed for iPod video export (both Mac and Windows versions). Maybe you should try a few of them.
Can the iPod battery hold out long enough to play 100 minutes of video?

  • Bluetooth audio cuts out

    Hi,
I have a 3G iphone and recently purchased a Blueant T1 headset. One of the key features that I wanted to make use of is it's ability to stream audio from my iPhone. I had no problems getting the headset to connect and can play audio through it but I have noticed some odd behaviour and wanted to know if there's something I can do about it.
First when I play music and the phone is not locked it's fine, but once I lock the phone the audio startes to cut out once in a while and it gets worse when I start walking and is constantly cutting out when I start running. Now if I plug the phone into power it's solid, but on battery and the screen locked it's irritating to say the least.
    Thanks for your help.

you don't press the power off button when you're listening to music
just don't click on the screen
when I run with my headset and leave the power button alone and the iphone turn off the screen itself without disconnecting my bluetooth headset connection
