Battery drained, wont turn on.

Ok, when I turned it on a couple days ago, it had nothing in that little bar that shows the power, so I quickly ran and connected it to the computer, it beeped a couple times and said there was no energy and shut off completely, I tried to turn it on but it won't work, even when connected to the computer

Identical problem. Tried to plug it into a USB 2.0 port and wouldn't charge. Used the wall charger we got with our other Ipod (20Gb) and left it there for a week. Nothing. Ended up sending it to Apple and low and behold, nothing is wrong. Looks like I've got a paper weight (should've got the bigger one to hold more paper). By the way, tried a Belkin Auto charger/FM modulator and it still wouldn't charge it. I use the same chargers for the 20Gb Ipod and it works great, never a problem. It's just the mini that has the problem.

Hold down home and sleep buttons for about 15 seconds.   If you don't see the Apple logo, plug phone into wall charger for at least 15 minutes.

  • Rapid battery drain after turning on iCloud

Is it normal for iCloud to drain my battery so quickly? Since turning on iCloud for Calendars, my battery drained almost completely overnight, and went from 61% down to 36% in about 2 hours doing nothing other than sending one very short (2 words) iMessage. I'd like to use iCloud but keeping my iPhone plugged in constantly is not an option.

Avast is garbage. Uninstall it according to its instructions. Avast's uninstaller will remove it completely.
If your school requires you to use Avast you will just have to tolerate its detrimental effects on your Mac's performance and battery life.

  • Solution to Sony A6000 battery drain even turned off

I have had my A6000 for a month and noticed battery drain even when powered off from 100% to 85% in less than 12 hours.I tried airplane mode to shutdown wifi and though this help reduce the power drain by about 5% it did not eliminate it.Then I read a post by a fellow with the same problem who also owned an A5000. He experimented with swapping batteries but the A6000 still drained to 85%. The A5000 did not. The main difference between these two models is that  the A6000 has the EVF eyepiece. It appears that the EVF proximity sensor will drain battery power even when the camera itself is powered off. I isolated the camera so nothing was near the sensor and overnight drain was reduced. My next step was to switch from auto to monitor only setting in FINDER/MONItOR before power off.IT WORKED. 0% BATTERY DRAIN OVERNIGHT WITH POWER SWITCHED OFF.Summary: To conserve battery, (1) leave the camera with airplane mode on unless you need wifi and (2) before switch the power off set  FINDER/MONItOR from auto to moniter only to turn off the EVF proximity switch. Please fix these in firmware if possible Sony. Clearly neither of these features needs to remain active draining battery power if the a 6000 camera is powered off . It would make this amazing camera even better.

Good pick up. I wonder it this is also an issue for other cameras from Sony with EVF - any body got time to test it?

Important: iPod touch cannot be charged with a FireWire-based power source.
Verify that the power source being used is working properly.
If connecting to a computer's USB port, verify it is a high-powered USB 2.0 port. Note: The USB ports on most keyboards don't provide enough power, so if you're connecting iPod touch to a keyboard, make sure it has a high-powered USB 2.0 port.
Verify the computer is turned on and not in sleep or standby mode. If iPod touch is connected to a computer that's not turned on or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPod touch battery may drain.
    Try another USB port.
Try charging from a USB charger if available.
If that does not help, try another USB cable if available.
Learn more about charging the battery.
    The Home button isn't working
Put the iPod Touch to sleep.
    Wait a couple of seconds.
    Press the Home button.
    iPod Touch should wake up.
If iPod Touch does not wake up, then iPod Touch should be serviced.

  • Nano battery Drain Whilst Turned Off

    Hi
Anybody else got problems or advise, as my battery on my 4gb Nano is draining in about 15 hours whilst off.
    Thanks

A couple years back I had a third generation iPod that I left connected to my computer overnight. Some days I'd grab it and have a fully charged iPod, other days I had a dead iPod. I finally realized that on the days the iPod's battery was dead the computer had gone to sleep. While asleep, the firewire card wasn't supplying electricity and the iPod discharged. I solved it by buying a powered USB/Firewire hub.
I wonder if you are experiencing the same problem? An easy test would be to charge the iPod during the evening and disconnect it from the computer before going to bed. In the morning if it has a full charge you'll know. A powered USB2 hub isn't too expensive.

  • Battery draining quickly

My older iPad 1 stays charged much longer than my newer iPad 2; however, they are both worse now since updating to ISO 5. I am having the charge the iPad 2 almost daily.............
Can someone explain why this is happening?
I don't have Apps running in the background. I don't have wifi on when not needed. I don't have "Push" email on. I don't have "location" on; other than, finding my iPad. So, please don't suggest closing Apps down as the only thing left to do with these iPads right now is to sit and look at them............
    Thanks

As mentioned, there are indeed some bug fixes on the way.  The specific one that helped my iPad 1 battery drain was turning off the automatically "Setting time zone" feature.  It's a location service that is a "system service", so sort of outside the other set of location services.  You specifically have to choose a setting enable the icon to see when system services are using location services— and when I enabled that, I could see that it was on constantly, 24/7, whenever time zone setting was enabled.  After turning off automatic time zone support, my battery life went back to iOS4 performance, or even better!

  • Macbook Pro battery drained and now it won't turn on

I have an early 2012 Macbook Pro. A couple of weeks ago my charger broke and I couldn't get a new one straight away, so the battery drained and it shut off. I don't normally let that happen, but there wasn't a whole lot I could do about it this time. I have a new magsafe charger now and the LED is solid orange as normal, but the macbook still wont turn on even though it's been charging for a good 50 minutes now. It sounded like it was booting up a couple of times and the first time the screen lit up grey and the loading animation (grey bars) showed up, but now it's just black again. I know it's going to take longer than normal to charge after the battery being completely drained for so long, but is it normal for it to take so long or does it sound like it's bolloxed?

    Try a SMC reset:

  • TS2771 My ipod touch 4th generation just turned off on me, it had full battery and now wont turn back on, how do i fix it?

My ipod touch just turned off on me, the screen just turned off and now it wont turn on whatever i do. I tryed plugging it in to charge and pressing down on the hold button and home button but its not doing anything, How do i fix it? Not sure what my operating system is but i know i havent updated to the newest version.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My iPhone 5 is charging but wont turn on even with the hard reset and restore. Keeps showing low battery. HELP PLEASE

My iPhone 5 shows it's charging but wont turn on even with the hard reset and restore. Just keeps showing low battery. HELP PLEASE
I usually sleep with my phone on charge through the night and I haven't had any problem since, I left my iphone 5 charging last night and in the morning it stated 100% charged so I decided to turn the power off normally (Hold the hold button till it says slide to turn power off) I turned it off and suddenly my iphone went straight to low battery. Although I have been having weird battery percentage changes for example it would stay on 1 % for an hour or so or drain really quickly.
I have restored it as i thought was the thing to do all it's doing it restoring and still stating low battery and I have charged it for hours +. I can't hard reset it nor restore it NEED HELP PLEASE.
