Battery drains but still plenty charge

I use my iphone5 to listen to Tune-In digital radio while walking my dogs. It shows plenty of battery charge left but suddenly drains and turns itself off. When I get it home to recharge it has plenty of battery strength as soon as I plug it in. What is causing it to drain and switch off?

It may be your charger. If you have or can borrow a different charger, try that. You may have already tried but thought I'd suggest.

  • IPhone 4s shuts down (battery drain) but still have charge???

    Hi!
For some reasons, in the last couple of weeks, my 4S has started to shutdown. when trying to power it back up, the screen indicates that the battery is drained, but I know there is. As soon as I plug it in, it eventually powers back on, confirming that the battery was far from drained!
The first time, my battery was at about 60%, and just yesterday, it was at 19% before it just shuts off...
Anyone have a clue? or does this indicate my phone might have e defect?

Sorry about tthe triple posting. Apple's website was responding strangely and not indicating that I had posted.

  • Ios 7 battery drain - using faster than charging now

Anyone else have issues getting a full charge on iPhone 4S after updating to ios 7.0?
It's draining noticable faster - battery drains faster than it charges now so that unless you turn off the screen you end up with less charge than when you docked it. Same goes for regular 30 pin cable to 1Amp wall charger without the dock.
I left mine over night on the iPhone dock and it still only reached 92%
Never had issues on ios 6.
Even with the screen dimmed back to 50% (like I had it set for ios 6),
Battery was at 45% before updated yesterday and even though it was docked and charging during update was at 36% after the update, and kept dropping the longer I had it connected.
Does anyone know for sure if ios 7 is using the A5 cpu differently? maybe running it faster or using more power than on ios 6?
Rebooted my iPhone 4S a few times after updating, nosame issue. Was able to use Safari but unable to download from itunes or app store. They asked or my password, but it said "could not connect to app store, please try again". perhaps due to so many users updating yesterday
Then after opening a few apps (ebay, amazon) battery meter jumped to 100%
I do have DND enabled for notice center. update retained that preference and my screen lock code.
I noticed that even though screen lock timeout was set for 2 mins, it was prompting for code immediately. Had to change to 5 mins, since the 2 minute to lock option has been removed in ios 7.
    Thanks,
    JJ

my iphone 4 will not turn on. it had some battery life but it wont charge up or conect to my computer. Help please?

Your battery has reached the end of its life. If you have a MacBook with the removable battery you can get a new third party battery fairly cheap on eBay.

  • HT4060 My  first generation Ipad won't allow me to charge it by the mains socket.  This was a replacement as my origional Ipad had a software problem.  I have rebooted it a number of times but still not charging.  Any advice?

My Ipad 3G has decided not to charge.  I have been using the same charger that came with it which worked perfectly until a few days ago.  I have even tried to charge it using my incar charger, but it still won't charge up.  This Ipad is a replacement as my first one had software problems, so I am hoping this can get fixed and not result in another replacement.
I will be grateful for any advice.

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • Ipod Nano 2G battery drains suddenly after completly charge , software 1.3.

I bought Ipod Nano 2G and have this problem: after Charge 4 hours, then, when I use it , Ipod suddenly restart and the battery drains near to 98% of capacity, or when I power off the nano after use it, next morning or severals hours later, the battery is completly drain, and Ipod doesn't response. he Just response until I connect to USB port of my Computer or ITrip, and show the "extremely battery low... message".
I use my ipod only in my car with my iTrip car, but some times y use it for some Long travels in plane, its works ok, but some days ago ( near to sept. /8 ) start with this failures.
It's may be related with the new software version 1.3.1 ? Itunes install it some days ago in my Ipod and start with this problems.
some one have the same problem?

Well , after all the software test to see the battery behavior, my ipod still drains all battery power, even if the ipod are in off mode. but if I play songs after full charge it plays over 8 hours (IS NOT THE BATTERY THE PROBLEM) . but some times the Ipod reboot randomly and start with 2% of baterry charge after that.
I test using 1.0, 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3.1 software. and the same problem.
    therefore: IS NOT THE SOFTWARE.
So I decide send MY Ipod nano to the technical support office in my country/city using my APPLE warranty, now I just wait for the answer from the technichian.

  • MBP battery drains in sleep when charger has no power

At home I regularly plug my MBP's charger into an outlet that's on a light switch. When I'm done working for the night, I put the laptop to sleep and then turn off the light. Usually (since I'll be leaving first thing in the a.m. and the charger cord is kind of in the way) I unplug the charger and stow it, but every now and then I just leave the laptop plugged in and turn off the light.
I've discovered that when I do this--leave the fully-charged, sleeping laptop attached to an adaptor that is not getting power--the battery drains until the point that the laptop goes into hibernation. So when it wakes up, less than 10% charge is left.
In all other respects I have no problem with the battery and resting overnight (unplugged) it only loses a percent or two of its charge.
Is this a bad adaptor, possibly?

I'm not sure how that helps me figure out the problem. I suppose I'm still having problems expressing myself clearly.
You have expressed yourself very clearly. I got it from reading your original post.
The only thing I can come up with is somehow the charger or the Macbook is bleeding power back through the charger into the electrical lines.
There should not be any voltage at the AC prongs of the charger when it is connect to the MBP. The flow of current should only be one way. You can check this with good multi meter.

  • Battery drained and will not charge

the battery on my droid ultra completely drained last night and I plugged it in to the wall charger this morning and it is not responding. Has anyone let their battery drain all the way ans had issues getting it to charge? It has been plugged in for about 30 minutes and the screen is black and the device will  not turn on.
    thanks!

ddvh, let's bring life back to that device. I recommend that you allow it to charge for approximately 15 more minutes until the battery charging icon populates on your screen. If the device still does not power on, you will need to press/hold the power and volume up button to reboot your device. Keep us posted. We're here to further assist you if needed.

  • Returned HD SET TOP BOX but still being charged for it!!!!

I canceled my FIOS TV service on June 20th, and received the return kit on July 1st. I dropped off the package at my local post office on July 5th, as it was instructed on the return kit.  I boxed the cable box, placed the provided shipping label, and dropped at the local post office.
A month later, I logged online to pay my monthly bill, I see that there is charged of $350.00 for unreturned set top box. So, I traced the package with the tracking number that I got from the post office.I found out that the package is still sitting at the post office that I went,  even though It was a month later. I called verizon customer service center. I told the customer service representative that I returned the box. He says that I still have to pay for $350.00 because the package didn't arrive at the Verizon within 30 days of service stopped. BUT, I dropped off the package before the 30 days. I don't know what happened  to the package at the post office, I never doubted that it would sit there. THAT'S NOT MY FAULT!!!!  I told him that there must been mistakes at the post office. He says that I should've brought it to the local verizon center. BUT, THAT'S NOT WHAT THE RETURN KIT SAYS!!! I FOLLOWED INSTRUCTIONS AS VERIZON ASKED ME TO!!  DROP OFF AT ANY LOCAL POST OFFICE!!!!!! He said he will request an investigation, and I will be notified. Now, that's 2 weeks ago...
I tried online chatting and made some other calls but,  gets the same conclusion " someone will call you back"  which never happened....
Meanwhile, I traced the package few times more, and it started moving after I made the phone call to verizon customer service center. Last time I traced it, it was in Greensboro, NC.  So, I thought it will be all ok, once the investigator reaches me.
Guess what? Today, a package was delivered to my house... the cable box that I returned...
I called in again to explain everything again and let them know the new news, but still gives me the same answer.. "wait until notified."
so now, I don't know if I should keep this box until notified,  I'm afraid if I  will get charged another amount.
I'm so tire of waiting and the empty promises by Verizon.  And I really don't know what to do!!
Anyone from Verizon willing to step-up and resolve this?
I have the copy of receipt from post office, and tracking details..

  • Iphone 4 Verizon enabled IMessage but still getting charged as texts

I'm an Iphone 4 Verizon user; I have IMessage "ON"; send as SMS "OFF". I message with another user who has IMESSAGE "ON". The message screen is blue, not green. Yet I'm still getting charged towards texts by Verizon. Does this have anything to do with being signed into apple at all times? Can anyone figure this out? Please help me, thank you.
    bayridgeguy

Has nothing to do with signing on with Apple. If this is happening, I suggest as razmee209 did and contact Verizon. Have you tried turning off cellular or going to Airplane mode and turning wifi back on and sending. Do you  find a charge then? The charging of SMS/MMS is a carrier function, so I would believe they would need to investigate/correct.
I do remember reading sometime in the past of Verizon having a issue with a charge such as this. Try searching the forum and see if you can find a similar post.

  • Cancelled Subscription during end of June but still being charged in July & August

Hi Spotify support, I have cancelled my premium subscription during end of June and my card was still being charged in July & August. May i know how to stop this and get my refund back?

Hi, and welcome to the community!
Did you get a confirmation email to say you cancelled? If you did, then it's likely you have a second account. Try logging in with an email/username and see if that account is there too. If not, then try cancelling through the subscriptions page again. Make sure you click on every confirmation box that may appear!
For the refund, if you submit an online contact form; someone at Spotify can look into sorting this for you.
Once you get an automated reply; make sure to reply to it directly (even if it's from a no reply); and it will be sent to the Spotify staff.

  • I have a ipod touch 8gb when i plug it in to charge it just blinks from the apple screen to the battery screen but will not charge what could be wrong it was fine yesterday?

I have a ipod touch 8gb . When I plug it in to charge it just blinks from the apple screen to the battery screen what could be wrong?

    Maybe:
    - See:
    iPod touch: Hardware troubleshooting
    - Try another cable
    - Try another charging source
    - Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Look for abnormalities like bent or corroded contacts, cracked or broken plastic.
    - Make an appointment at the Genus Bar of an Apple store.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
    or
    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Battery drain and will not charge.

Since the new update I have noticed my phone will no longer even go 8 hours without dropping to 10% power left.  As of last night, it will not take a charge.  Instead when I plug it into either a wall charger or via USB cable it will cycle through turning itself on, discovering it doesn't have a charge and immediately powering itself back down.  I have tried multiple multiple chargers and that is not the issue.  Ideas?
Motorola Razor M - current version of operating system unknown (due to the fact I can't get it to stay on) but fully updated.

It would upset me to see my device no longer performing at its potential, grim2020! I'm determined to help you. Often, when an operating system update is sent, it turns on applications and features that had once been disabled. They might run in the background without your knowledge. Updates also can bring new applications that might also be running. Since you have a Droid RAZR M, I would check on that by going to Settings> Apps> and then scroll to the right to see what is listed under "Running". Any unnecessary (or, at least not being actively used) apps can be disabled through that option.
