Battery drains no matter what I do

Hello there,
I got my iphone replaced because after 1 year of perfect service and the best of battery performance, my iphone started draining battery.
They couldn't find an answer so they replaced it.
What I got is an iphone consuming 25% an an hour no matter if in stand by or in use.
I tried every single restriction I could, including starting it as new.
Right now I don't even have my contacts in it and it's draining 1% every 3-4 minutes.
At they gwnius they've told me it takes a week for the new battery to asset.
It's been 4 days and zero improvements.
My old 4s used to last about 10 hours with a very heavy use.
This one won't make it on stand by mode for 5 hours.
I am very disappointed

you stated you got a new iphone 5S a few weeks ago, then you state pretty sure the iphone is damaged and it has been replaced.
so how can your phone be new?  you story doesn't add up.

There are two different types of adapters by Apple that look similar. One is a 5 Watt adapter used with iPhones and iPods. The other is a 10 Watt adapter used with the iPad. Other than looking at the text on the adapter, which is hard to read, you can tell the different by looking at the socket the pin part plugs into the adapter. The 5 Watt has two notches and the 10 Watt has only one notch.
Make sure you use the 10 Watt adapter with an iPad.

  • Battery drain while using Safari after 8.2 ios upgrade?

Anyone else having battery drain issues after upgrading to 8.2? When I use Safari a lot, I notice the battery drains quickly. I see that the Safari loading icon is often animated.
Also, I saw a suggestion to turn off motion and fitness tracking or something in the privacy settings, but I don't see that option in my iPhone 5. Can this be turned off on iPhone 5?
iOS 8.2 has been terrible for me. How was this allowed to get out of beta? Dictation is screwed up in Safari, and it doesn't fix the longstandig copy and paste bug (in Safari the cut/select/copy options disappear after half a second) nor does it fix the atrocious way that Safari reloads tabs when you toggle between them. The tabs didn't used to reload every time before ios 8. The reloading of the Safari tabs makes you lose anything you have written in forms on Safari pages.
Apple really needs to get its act together. The software has been so much less reliable than in previous years. Are the beta testers even doing their jobs?
Anyway, if anyone has any suggestions about the battery drain issue or anything else mentioned here, it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you!

Facing battery drain issues after upgrading to 8.2. turned off location services and background refresh for a bunch of apps and also turned off motion and fitness tracking but still battery drains no matter what you do.
iOS 8.2 is terrible for me too.

  • Battery Drain On Curve

I'm not running any chat programs, and only have Gmail, Google Search, running, along with the basic applications, including Telenav.  My battery charge won't last 8 hours, and the phone isn't 2 weeks old yet.  Any suggestions?

Would having GMail Mobile Update cause battery drain?  Notsure what else to eliminate or what could be causing the drain.  Can't last 8 hour day without drained battery.  Any help would be appreciated.  Janice

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • What is going on with 6.0.2 exchanged two phones today in store all with battery draining issue problem

Guys, what is going on two phones exchanged in store today all had battery draining problems once phone updated to iOS 6.0.2.
First phone wouldn't last 3 hours usage even in plane mode function.
Second phone bit better battery life 3 hours 15 minutes usage No Apps installed on both phone and location turn off even setup as new phone.

First of all, why did you say yes to Nero Back up before researching what it does with files already on the HDD? When I install Nero, the Back Up is the first thing I disable, it is a nagging pain, there are much better backup programs available. There are several file recovery programs out there to recover deleted files, that is, if that is what happened. Also, if you haven't overwritten the files, so you should be able to find them.

  • My iphone consumed  10GB data this what's wrong with my VPN kindly guide suitably moreover battery drain fast

My iphone 5s consumed  10GB data this what's wrong with my VPN kindly guide suitably moreover battery drain fast

The long backups seem to be related to the size of the apps you installed, not the number. That's why some people with multiple pages of apps experience fast backups. There does seem to be a bug with the current firmware that can cause a crash when doing app uploads and syncs. This bug seems to be exacerbated by having large and many apps.
I was experiencing frequent crashes, but have no more - even with 70 apps installed - some of them large like the American Heritage Dictionary which is several hundred megabytes. I did the following:
    1. I set iTunes to NOT do autosyncs every time I plug in. This setting is in the Itunes preferences.
    2. I disabled the autobackups in iTunes for the iphone. I figured that if it did crash and it was going to take 2 hours to restore, why not just reload. The instructions are readily found using google search; it involves a command line setting. Anyway, the phone doesn't crash anymore since doing this.
    3. I no longer install apps using the iPhone. I first install the app in iTunes and the I manually sync it to the iphone. I avoid doing multiple installs at once; at least for the large apps. Right click on each app and get its info from within itunes. If it is large, it is going to take time to backup.
    4. I always first shut off the iphone and restart it before installing any apps in itunes. This clears any memory issues left behind from use.
I am going to continue to do these procedures until Apple releases a fix for the bugs relating to the apps.
As noted, since I took these steps, I have had no crashes. I was crashing at least once every 1-2 days before with the same or less number of apps. I too was a first gen iPhone user and was very frustrated with the 3G experience. Since doing the above, I am once again a very happy and productive iPhone 3G user. I know its a pain to do this, but the bugs will get fixed at some point. I would never go back to my old phones - they were just phones.

  • On my iPhone 5, the battery symbol and percentage won't change, even while charging or during usage throughout the day. The battery is however charging and draining properly from what I can tell.

Has anyone had this issue or know of a fix?
    Thanks

    Try this
Restart iPhone: Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for phone to restart (no data will be lost).
Using the phone while charging doesn't create a problem.. I do it all the time

  • TS4532 What other fix is available since my battery drains faster with 6.1.1 update, and I already tried the Exchange fix.

I don't hace email set up on iPhone,  I barely have any notifications turned on. Ive already tried the "reset" with exchange and the calendar. What else can I do to stop this battery drain problem I've had since upgrading to 6.1.1?

I also forgot to mention that when it did have power, it wouldn't let me shut it off to try and conserve the battery life. Right when it powered down it would power right back up.

What have you figured out? Anything? What you show just shows a pretty quiet system except for firefox having a bunch of tabs open. You've got some page ins and outs so you maybe your'e hitting your HD with swap files more than what you think?
I think something like coconut battery app or something like it will tell you the charge cycles on the battery. How many do you have?
Lastly, are you using any extensions like ad blocker, or click to flash?
