Battery heating up woes.

My BlackBerry Storm 9500 v 5.0.0.451 heats up very quickly if I make a call.. It heats up even more when I browse the net and try downloading stuff. I replaced the battery a couple of days ago but the problem still persists. Any suggestion would be welcome :-) thank you....

Hello denidove and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
It is not uncommon for the BlackBerry to become warm with charging and usage. If the temperature seems excessively warm then it is recommended you contact your point of sale for investigation into this.

  • Battery heating

I have the original battery that came with the Thunderbolt.  I noticed if I'm using mobile web for maybe over 20 minutes or so, I can feel the battery heating up.  Is anyone else experiencing this with the original battery?  Is this "normal"?  I don't notice it heating up when I just text or use the phone for voice calls.  It's past the 14d period when I can return the phone.  My laptop was doing the same thing (heating up), until finally it "burned out" the inside and has had to be repaired several times.  I'd HATE for the same thing tohappen to my Thunderbolt, especially since I have 2 years with it.  (Footnote:  I did not purchase the extended warranty.)  Help!!!

Download from the market "Battery Monitor" application and it will show you much more information about battery including its temperature. Normailly working battery temperature (not during charging) range is from 80F (27C) and should not exceed 105F (40C). If your battery is getting hotter than 105F during normal operation, you are risking of damaging not just a battery but also internal components of the phone.

  • Yellow Battery Heating up

Has anyone run into the Pearl battery heating up?
My has done it a couple of times where the whole device is heated up because of the battery, I take out the battery, put it back in a minute later, it cools down, but the charge has completely drained. Then everything works normal again.
    It's only 6 months old.

I think you should resolve the issue quickly...otherwise this would damage your device.

  • Ingress software or iPhone issue over app crash and battery heating up

    Hi all
As you know the ingress games requires you to keep the phone while moving around to recharge the XM, and of course that reduce dramatically the battery, so I do carry a battery pack or two.
Recently, when the phone is kept on for a few hours my iPhone 4s automatically shut down, or even crash the ingress app. and the phone heats up after kept on for over just over 3 hrs, and sometimes beyond this the phone shuts down.
Does anyone have this battery heating up issues or automatic shutting down after hours of keeping the phone on even connected to a battery pack?

While on the HOME screen double-press the Home button. The Quick Launch bar will appear on the bottom of the screen. Hold any icon until they all display "-", then tap the "-" on each one until they are all gone.
Next, reboot the phone by holding the HOME and SLEEP buttons until an Apple logo appears.
BTW, this assumes your phone is not jailbroken. If it is then that is your problem, and you will have to find solutions somewhere else, as it can't be discussed in an Apple-hosted forum.

  • Is anyone having problems with the battery heating up and draining the power?  Mine has been doing this for about 2 months now.

Is anyone having problems with the battery heating up and draining the power?  Mine has been doing this for about 2 months now.

This is a major problem with Lollipop, but yo said it started 2 months ago.   Several people have fixed problem by removing FaceBook And Face book messenger and then re loading the apps again.   You might want to clear your cache before reloading.  Not sure this is your problem, but worth a try.  Good Luck

  • N73 BATTERY BP 6M BATTERY HEATING DURING CHARGIN...

N73 BATTERY BP 6M BATTERY HEATING DURING CHARGING AND DISCHARCHING WITH IN HOURS FROM CHARGING ITS SIZE IS ALSO INCREASED

Please replace your battery with new one RIGHT NOW. Continue using this BP-6M may cause danger.
Usually turning heat while charging is normal, especially when charging in big current. And after the battery get older and older, the internal resistance will incrase as well, and this will generate more heat while charging. However, if the battery gets very hot while charging, much hotter than before, or suddenly become hot, you need to pay extra attention to it, 'coz this is a dangerous signal that saying your battery may have problems.
BUT, if a battery becomes to discharging quickly, in most case you need to replace it as quick as possible, for there may be slight short circuit inside it. If you continue using a battery in this condition, the level of short circuit may increase and at last, it may be totally short circuited and EXPLODE or BURN.
You've said the size of your battery is also bigger than before, so I can 99% sure that, your battery is no longer usable, REPLACE IT RIGHT NOW and handle it properly.

  • MacBook Alum battery heating up while being charged and used

MacBook Alum battery heating up while being charged and used at the same time.
Is this normal? Or is it only mine? :S

The battery itself as in the bottom left side of the notebook or the white magsafe adapter that is actually plugged in? Either way, it is supposed to get warm unless you are talking burning hot on fire. Then of course it is a little too warm.

  • N73 ME Battery HEATING TOO MUCH - Please Help

N73 ME Battery HEATING TOO MUCH - Please Help
    Hi Friends,
    I am from India
Need Help/Suggestion from Mobile Gurus right here
I have 1 Year Old N73 ME and I mainly use it for Calling and Texting. Very Occasionally I use it for Music/Gaming and Browsing the Web.
The phone is completely in excellent condition
The problem is that: While charging ONLY the Battery gets too much HOT and it never shows Battery is Full (Charged it for Max 1 Hour 45 Minutes)
This problem suddenly appeared, so I formatted the Memory Card as well as Hard Format/Reset the Phone, but still the Battery is heating too much
After disconnecting the Phone from Charger, the Battery is FULL and I can use it without any problem and as usual. The Talktime right now is around 2.5 Hours and Standby time is around 2-3 Days
Please tell me what to do
If you want any additional details I will post here
Thanks a Lot and With Best Wishes

    Hello Sir,
    Thanks for your response
I would like to add that the Temperature here in my city is around 43 Degree Centigrade (yes! centigrade, I am from Middle state's of India) everyday. Is this problem is due to so much heat?

N73 BATTERY BP 6M BATTERY HEATING DURING CHARGING AND DISCHARCHING WITH IN HOURS FROM CHARGING ITS SIZE IS ALSO INCREASED

If the batteries size has increased you should stop using it immediately. You are putting the phone at risk by using it.
You should take it to a nokia care point as soon as possible.

  • Bottom cover warped by battery heat

My MacBook is just over a year old and the bottom cover is warped from the battery heat from charging (pulled away from under the front center below the mouse pad), is this covered by Apple Care extended plan (cannot get any infromation online as site is down)? Love it overall, but the bottom plastic is cheap!

    WAITTTTTTTTT! =)
I didn't realize that you were having the bad rubber bottom issue =) Apple is covering it.
I had the same issue with mine.
    3 Options
bring to Apple store and they do it
bring to an Apple athorized repair and they do it
order the part for free and do it yourself

  • IBook battery heating up - is this normal?

I just upgraded to an iBook from a Pismo a few days ago, and I've been taking it for a test ride.
I've found that the iBook battery seems to heat up very fast: after about 30 minutes to 1 hour, it gets quite hot on the top. I know the bottom is supposed to be hot (it seems all Mac portables have hot bottoms) but is the heat from the top something to worry about?
Strangely, my 6-year-old Pismo doesn't seem to put out as much heat as my iBook, although that might just be the casing design.

Its not normal, my battery is barley even warm.

  • Battery heating up

Why is it that my battery when either charging or talking on it heats up so hot that I can not use it.  I took it to 3 Verizon stores and each one said it's a bad battery and i need to buy a new one.  After 3 batteries, it still heats up.  None of the batteries would hold a charge for more then 4 hours at a time.  My phone also shuts off on it's own will I am talking on it.

Hello fdrp123,  Your safety is our priority!  I apologize for the delayed response.  How long have you had your phone?  Did you notice this happening after installing a new application as it may be running in the background and affecting the processor.  Try starting the device in Safe Mode to see if it still gets as hot.  Here is a link to the instructions: http://support.verizonwireless.com/clc/devices/knowledge_base.html?id=34184  Please keep me posted on the status as I would be glad to provide additional support.

  • Battery heating up iOS 7.1.2

Since updating from iOS 7.1 to iOS 7.1.2 I'm experiencing a hotter than normal battery when levels drop down to about 20% and the phone is in use.
just wondering if anyone else also has same problem

In my lifetime with the fruit I came across some weird power drainage. Once I had (as always) my phone in the inside of my jacket's pocket and it was fully charged. Took it out an hour later and it was dead. Not even "plug in to charge" icon came up. At home when plugged it in nothing happened! Eventually went to bed and only the next morning it was back to life as normal.
Then again with current phone that was fully charged and I went to bed, woke up and phone had only 6% of battery left. No sleep monitoring app was left running etc. Phone was not covered by anything that would accumulate heat, like in a previous case that was inside the jacket's pocket.
    Crazy flukes.

  • Battery heating up, now it is Not Charging

For a while I have had the issue of my macbook becoming very warm when charging, or in use. And it would often say not charging, then i would have to remove and insert the charger a few times before it would work.
Now it is not charging at all, and the battery is at 0%.

If the heat is coming from the battery itself, you probably need a new one. If you're near an Apple Store or third-party service depot, they have a diagnostic they can run to determine if your battery has failed and needs to be replaced. Depending on your model, the battery may be something you can swap out, or would need to be done with a special tool.
