Battery hot after update

After update IOS7 my phone gets very hot and battery is DRAINING!!! dies anyone have that problem ?

1st of all are you using iphone 4s or Iphone 5/5s. If you are using Iphone 4s its normal because the processor is lower than iphone 5 and it will use more battery to power the iphone4s processor to its best but if your using iphone5, the processor is higher and it is made to be more battery saving. If your iphone 5 still has the fast drain problem than its best if you restore the whole phone and try to upgrade to a higher os 7.0.4

Is there a fix yet for the loss of battery power after updating to Lion? I've done the cmd-opt-shift restart and it didn't help.  This problem has gone beyond annoying now - it is absolutely maddening!    What is Apple's official response????

Chris: your friends are woefully uninformed, and no one should pay any attention to their bad advice.

  • Iphone 5 battery life after updating to ios 7.1

Has anyone else suffered rapid battery drain after updating to ios 7.1?

For users with battery drain problems also look at this message from me in another topic. Maybe it also helps you to find a solution to the drain problems on your iPhone. I would also suggest to read the complete blog post by a former Apple Genius bar person.

  • I'm having battery issues after updating to OS 10.9.2. Anyone else?

I noticed that my 13 inch late-2011 MacBook Pro has seen a significant decrease in battery life after updating to OS 10.9.2.  For example, I will turn off my wifi and just watch DVD's and the battery life isn't any where near what it used to be. It's only a few hours!  This is awful. My brightness settings are down and I'm not connecting anything into the USB ports and I am not using wifi. Any ideas or anyone else experiencing similiar issues?
    Thank you!

    jrnet154,
have you tried resetting your MacBook Pro’s System Management Controller?

  • IPhone 5s no longer holds battery charge after updating to 8.1.1

Immediately after updating to iOS 8.1.1, my iPhone 5s battery will no longer hold a charge. At 7:30 am (EST) it was 100% - by 10:30 am I had to plug it back in as it was down to 8%!!   From 100% to 8% in 3 hours ...
I NEVER had a problem with my phone in any way before updating the software.  PLEASE HELP!   Thank You.

The same thing happened to me. However, I was 7 hours from home in the Baaken. I was in a situation that requred I keep the phone on for saftey reasons. My Iphone 5s died and is now a brick!
I just ordered my first Android phone. It's unfortunate that Apple post Steve Jobs doesn't perform adequate testing on software. They are becoming just "another" company!

  • 4.1 made iphone4 hot after update

    Hi,
After updating my iphone4 to ios 4.1, I noticed the right side of the phone getting very hot even without use. The metal band on the right side is noticeably warmer than the left side of the phone.
What could be causing this? IIRC, the right side is where the cell radio is right? did the baseband update cause a malfunction to my phone?
    Thanks

My iphone4 heated up once randomly. It'll probably go away...

  • Heavy Battery Drain after updating to 8.1 Lumia Cy...

After updating my Lumia 1520 to 8.1 Cyan update, the battery drain is very high. The battery is lasting only for 6 to 7 hours when the data traffic is on  (under  mixed use of 2G and 3G modes). I have noticed few other users were also experiencing heavy battery drain after the Cyan update.
Will there be an update to fix this battery drain issue?
When the phone was in WP 8 Lumia Black update, battery backup was around 24-30 hrs (when data traffic was on).
What will be the workaround for this?

Yep, my 1520 battery drains like a helicopter that's lost it's rotor after this 8.1 update.
I was just boasting last weekend how awesome the battery life was on this phone, I drove 300mi with the GPS w/navigation, did some tethering to my laptop for work, went overnight..no charging, used lightly all the next day, few pictures, email, browsing, phone calls, and drove 300mi back on GPS/navigation and I still had 38% battery left.
I updated to 8.1 sunday night, and on my normal commute to a customer in another state, which under 8.0 would have drained oh...mabey 4-5%, I was at 62% by the time I got to this customer yesteday.
All I did was make a phone call, that's it. All background stuff is not allowed. location off, cortana off, ...still drains.
Bad bad bad news. I'm not seeing much usefull ness out of 8.1, and considering the battery life and no real new features....just gimmicks if you ask me, I'm not sure I want to stay at 8.1 . I'm trying to give it a chance...battery life is still better than my POS samsung androids I've had in the past, but knowing how good it really can be...and no real features in 8.1 (I was hopeing they'd fix the imap email not allowed to map sent/trash/inbox issue)....eshh...what a mess it seems.

  • Battery drain after update to 10.2

i noticed high battery drain after i have updated to 10.2. i charged phone to 100% yesterday at 16:00 and now 17h later it is 61%. - i wrote 4 sms'es, 1 short phone call, and that's all. i tried restart few times, checked out if network settings are same as before, nothing helps.
battery application is estimating discharging speed at level of 1% every 24 min. before at the same usage it was at least 50 mins. i heard 10.2 has better battery efficiency, but not for me. anyone has similar experiences after update?

Double check that your Network settings are how you want them as after an upgrade they have a habit of changing.
On my Verizon phone it redefaulted to Global which really burned my battery instead of limiting it to LTE/CDMA, once I changed it back battery life was back (or better) than previously.

  • Droid Battery Issues after Update to 2.2

Has anyone had there battery drain in the matter of hours after updating to 2.2? My wifes phone, her battery is already dead and her update was done about 2 hrs ago. It's not the facebook app because when she did her update she lost all of her apps so i know its none of those things.
    any ideas?

A lot of folks have been reporting this problem. I did notice this as well after I updated my phone. Seems like battery life lost about an extra 2-3 hours. My guess is that the Android OS is using a lot more processing power to keep the phone stable, but it seems to be mostly from the phone being on standby (go to Settings>About Phone>Battery Use to see what is using your battery), which is weird in my opinion. I have a feeling that there might be another patch in our future.

  • Battery messages after update to firmware 4.2.1

Hello. I've a question about the performance of the battery messages/icon after updating from 3.2.2 to 4.2.1 It worked fine in 3.2.2 (push notifications when reaching 20% of charge and icon changig from white to red); now it doesn't show the alert message and the icon keeps white. Something curious: if you install any iphone applications from iTunes, the icon is red when you run it (of course with the battery under 20%) but when you leave it turns white...
Restored several times (in fact at least four times) and it's always the same. As I said, it did work with 3.2.2
    Anyone else?
    Thank you and regards

Yes, the percentage is ok (that's why I know the battery icon is not working)
Other ideas? Someone else with the same problem?
    Thank you

  • 10.4.7: powerbook battery dead after update

Just updated from 10.4.6 to 10.4.7 on my 12.1" PB G4 using the automatic Software Update application and my battery is dead. I tried resetting the PMU but no luck. The battery worked fine yesterday but I can't power-up today. The charging light integrated in the plug remains green but the battery strength only shows 1 rapidly blinking green led.
Coincidence? Anyone else have power/battery problems after this update?
    1 GhZ powerbook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

    No problem with my 12" G4 or 17" G4 updating to 10.4.7.
Battery life remains the same as before, machines work on mains power and on battery power.
Note that before updating I logged out, to ensure that no applications were running and all other discs and devices were 'unmounted'; then I logged in again and "Repaired Permisions", using Applications>Utilities>Disk Utility; then did a Restart, and held down Apple+S to start in "Single User" mode, and ran "fsck" to check that all was OK with the hard disc; then rebooted and ran "Permissions Repair" again ..just to be prudent and to be satisfied that the machine was all in good order before applying the system software update.
I'll report back later and tell you if all went well with my Mac mini and G5 quad, but I've never had any problems with any OS update yet - all the way from 10.1 (..and System 8 and System 9 before that..)
    Maybe I'm just extra careful.
P.S: Maybe you could try resetting your Power Management Unit ..but note that you'll need to reset your time and date afterwards, otherwise any files you create after that reset will have the wrong time and date, and may not appear correctly in Spotlight searches, amongst other things.

  • Battery drain after updating to iOS 5.1.1

After doing the update to iOS 5.1.1 the phone is getting hot "warm" near the processor and the battery drains about 1% per 10 mins in standby and 10X when running an app. Meaning that the phone will run about 6 hours when it used to run for 48 hours on a charge. When putting the phone in airplane mode battery life appears normal. Following others that have reported this issue, I've done a Reset All Settings and two Erase All Content and Settings then restored from back up. Unfortuately what worked for others has not worked for me...
Took the phone to the Apple store and was told by the genius that there are no issues with the update and that location servers were to blame. Explaining over and over and over again that none of those settings have changed and that the only thing that changed was the update I got no answers, just more frustrated.
Currently I have all location services off and wifi off but still have the same problem.
Looking to either find the magical reset sequence that others have has success with or just roll back the update.
    Help.

Close all open apps by double-tapping the home button, then swiping up and off the screen with the app window (not the smaller icon).
Reset your device: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)
