Battery Identifier in Itunes 10

I just noticed that on my Iphone 3g it is showing I have a full charge. which is true since I always charge over night, yet in Itunes 10 next to my phone under devices it shows the lighting bolt. Could this be a bug in itune 10 or just that my phone is displaying the wrong charge state. I rebooted the phone several times and this did not correct the displaying problem. all answer or suggestion is welcome thanks in advance.

to update i noticed that i now have a plug indicator in itunes 10 it might have been a glitch with the phone displaying the full charge state sooner then it was suppose to.

  • IPhone battery symbol on iTunes

Battery symbol on iTunes changing randomly between charging (lightning bolt symbol) and charged (plug symbol).
For example, it happens to change from plug symbol to lightning bolt, although my battery percentage is 100% and back to lightning bolt without any reason.
Any fix for this? Is this a serious issue?

Why would it be a serious issue? If your iPhone is being charged, I wouldn't be concerned by which symbol is being shown in iTunes. Perhaps the iPhone (fully charged) doesn't need charging for a while, and after a while has used enough battery to enable the charging to take place, and these two states continue to alternate the charging status shown in iTunes?

No app on the iOS device is required.
    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod/iPhone/iPad on the iOS device in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected or cellular data is on and connected for, on a computer browser go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up or continue to show off-line.
    - You can also wipe/erase the iOS device and have the device play a sound via iCloud.
    iCloud: Erase your device
    iCloud: Use Lost Mode
    - If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the device and report to police and carrier if iPhone or cellular iPad
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the erase (it erases it) using it unless you had iOS 7 or later on the device. With iOS 7 or later, one has to enter the Apple ID and password to restore the device.

I have a 4th gen iPod touch that won't power up! I tried all the traditional stuff. I want to know how to tell if the battery is good. itunes see's the ipod in recovery mode. Tried dfu mode and did not work. Any ideas? I can hear the PC beep when plugging it in! I suspect a bad battery and trying to charge it ina wall charger made it hot!

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. The appointment is free.

  • How do I identify an iTunes Library that isn't named on my WAN?

You'd think people wouldn't be so secretive!
we have 800 employees at work and
about 1/2 have iTunes ( mix of Macs and PCs).
They all share their libraries up for others to listen,
but many of them do not have their libraries named.
Is there a way to identify who's Mac at least is hosting which
library? Short of calling everyone in the plant that is?

When you go to Settings>Store can you sign out and sign in with your ID?
That should work with purchasing new apps. It is likely that the other users purchased apps with his account. You have to log into the account that purchased apps to update them. If you have apps that need updating that were purchased from more than one account, you have to update the apps one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased with one account.

  • Is there a way to identify the iTunes user?

Since the StoreKit API does not return subscription InApp purchases during a restoreCompletedTransactions call, only way to know for sure that someone purchased an app is to tie the initial purchase to the iTunes account in the server (developer server) and restore the active subscriptions on all devices that use that iTunes account.
Does the SDK provide for a call which will uniquely identify the user? Something like a UUID? The SDK provides for a unique device identifier but that is of no use to restore the subscriptions on the other devices the user may be using.
I do not understand why Apple did not think of this case when they decided not to support Subscription InApp purchases in the call to query for completed transactions. This is insane and short-sighted on part of Apple with no thought given to the developers needs.

I have been working to create such a solution when Submit All first appeared, but that version was pretty buggy and I never got back to it. Maybe it is possible, but I cannot guarantee you that it can. When trying I have spent many hours to fix it without success. For the moment I don't have any incentive to restart with that problem. Hope you or some other user has more courage.

  • IPod Nano 7 Gen is detected but not identified by iTunes on HP Windows 8

I own an iPod Nano 7 Gen and an HP computer with Windows 8. Ever since I installed the iTunes update back in November of 2014 my iPod has not functioned with iTunes. Whenever I plug it into my computer I receive an error message that reads "An iPod has been detected, but it could not be identified properly. Please disconnect and reconnect the iPod, then try again. If the problem persist uninstall iTunes, then install iTunes again." I have done all that the alert message has told me and even restarted my iPod. Has anyone found a simple solution to this problem?

    Hello katrara,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
To troubleshoot this issue where you're getting the error "An iPod has been detected but it could not be identified properly. Please disconnect and reconnect the iPod, then try again," please follow the directions in the article below.  There are some more steps to go through in addition to uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes.

  • Ipod not "identified" by iTunes.

My itunes message reads "I recognize the IPod but cannot identify it" What do I do? I can't restore to factory settings because my Ipod isn't recognized by iTunes. The Ipod still plays music, but I can't download anything more.

I found the solution in another thread. I didn't bookmark it and now I can't find it, but:
Do an archive install of Tiger from your DVD. Then download and install all the system updates. Your previous system folder will be renamed. You can move any third party stuff from there to the new system folder. The first time I booted with the new system folder my iPod mounted, and I haven't had a problem since (knock wood).
It was kind of a pain, but well worth it to have my iPod. I wish I could thank the original poster by name… THANK YOU!

  • Battery Problems after Itunes 7.0 andd ipod update 1.2

Hi folks I too am having problems with the new updates for Itunes and Ipod updates... I have a 30 gig video Ipod...Did the update, and everything went fine as far as updating the ipod and itunes....Except now I only get barely 7 hours of audio playback on my ipod... Has anyone else noticed this problem... And if so is there a way to revert back to the previous Ipod update version for the time being..... I dont use videos on my ipod just audio podcasts... But I need the battery time to be back to what it was before the newest update... As I work 10 hours a day... Thanks for your help......

You can go back to your past settings. Just connect your Ipod to Itunes and click on your ipod. The first tab to the left gives you the option.
