Battery instantly drains when plugged into charger

A few days ago I went to plug in my BB at 1/4 full battery and when I did, the screen went blank, but the key pad was still lit up. I tried pulling the battery, but nothing turned on. I left it for a day and then tried it in my car charger, which charged it a little, and made me able to atleast turn it on, but the battery was completly drained. But I took it into my provider anyways and asked them to take a look at it. But as luck would have it, it worked perfectly for them with all 3 types of chargers (wall, car and  usb). I brought it home and it charged fine with the wall charger. But today it did the same thing...Does anyone know what could be wrong?

I don't know if it's the battery, the microUSB charge/data port, firmware or electronics ... but my 8220 Pearl Flip is now a BRICK! It's happened before that it dies and fails to light up when the charger or sync cable is plugged in but at some point battery re-insertion would start the charging. Either the Canadian engineers or the Mexican factory workers have messed up badly with this device. If it ever powers up, I'll try removing every app
As an experienced PC technician, I conclude that a BlackBerry Mini External Battery Charger might be the only solution until RIM provides a fix. Get a spare C-M2 battery unless you want to carry the external charger with you and don't mind waiting for it to build up a charge. I've just ordered both on Amazon.
Found these 3 posts:  ["I talked to a sales rep at TMobile about this, and she just said, "Well, just keep your phone charged and you won't have that issue." Hmmm, you think? My god, I charge my phone nearly every night, but I also use it a lot for work. If the battery gets low and I'm at work and still need to use it, then what? I've never had a phone where I couldn't just plug it in and keep using it. Very frustrating. Anyway, my question for people who already have the Flip is, does that phone have that issue, or is it possible to plug it in and use it, even if the battery indicates that it's low when you plug it in to charge? I'd hate to buy another phone that doesn't allow that."]
["I just got the 8220 flip two days ago. After charging, the battery lost more than 50% of the charge in less than 12 hours! I was told that this thing only needed to be charged ONCE A WEEK and that if it doesn't hold the charge, it needs to be sent back.... I am thinking that it's not just my flip that's defective, perhaps it's the whole product line."]
["I am having the same issue. About 10 hours of standby time. Even if I turn off all radios including the mobile network the phone is dead by the morning, every morning. This one is going back (I may try another, or just give up on the Flip)."]

    Hello lorvic9195,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
You can use the following article to troubleshoot your issue with your iPad not booting. I would suggest looking first at the "Power/Battery" section. The "Battery or charging issues" first and then the "Other issues".

  • N95 Battery drains when plugged into PC

When I'm working I have my N95 plugged into my PC but, I have found that my battery drains quicker than when it's not connected to the pc.
Can anyone explain why this is or, do I have a problem with my N95?
    Regards,
    Jono

Isn't it also accessing the external drive as well, thus taking CPU cycles, thus draining the battery? As the USB does not charge but provides signaling from the phone to the PC via the USB it would be safe to assume that the power drain is simply from the constant communication.

  • Ipad does nothing when plugged into charger any suggestions

Is there anything I can do to check system?

Make sure the 30-pin connector is fully seated in the side of the iPad.
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • Phone suddenly 'dies' when plugged into charger

Hi, I have had my Z3C for about a week and I only started noticing this problem in the past 2 days.
When I plug the phone into a charger and turn on the power for the charger, any app which is running will automatically be closed. (Same thing happens when I remove the charging cable)
However, what troubles me most is that sometimes, the phone 'dies'. When I turn on the charger, the display will slowly fade out with black horizontal lines across the screen unitl the whole screen is off. It does not matter what app I'm running or if I'm simply at my lockscreen. (Yes, watching the lockscreen suddenly fade out as the LCD goes off is kind of scary) Any attempt to 'rewake' the phone by pressing the power button will not work. Holding down the power button only results in a brief vibration of the phone.
Only after about a minute, when I press the power button again then am I greeted by my lockscreen. Throughout this whole period the charging LED remains on.
Is there something wrong with my phone or is it a normal occurence?

That doesn't seem normal, you should contact your local Xperia care

  • Constant bleeping when plugged into charger?

    Hi there,
My iPad works fine in use, but I have a problem when I come to charge it. It bleeps the whole time with a message saying that it hasn't been backed up in X weeks, and that updates happen when it is plugged in, locked and connected to wifi. All the time it's doing this it IS plugged in, locked and connected to wifi. It drives me insane and slows down the charging – does anyone know why this happens and what I can do to stop it? I don't even need the wretched thing to be backed up, all my music and contacts data is stored on iCloud thru my iPhone and Macbook, and my user files are all on Dropbox.
    Thanks!
    -Kitty

PS: it's now barely charging at all because the alerts are using up whatever charge it has. Every time I lock it, it unlocks itself and lights up the screen with the message, and if I power it off it reboots itself again. The software is fully up-to-date.

  • My phone will not charge when plugged into charger

Anybody have a solution when your iphone will charge charge

If the iPhone does not charge when connected to your computer either, the problem is with the cable being used or with the iPhone. If when using the power adaptor only, the problem is with the power adaptor.

  • My MacBook Pro isn't turning on, at first it would only turn on when being plugged in by its charger and continued to stay on 0% and now it won't even turn on even when plugged into charger. What's wrong with it?

    Please help

Is this an early 2008 MacBook Pro?
I observed two of these machines work perfectly for several months (different users and workflows) with no issues and with normal shutdown. The next press of the power button is greeted by about 3 - 5 seconds of DVD click, hard disk seek, and then nothing. Different batteries, chargers, and memory chips were used with no machine revival.
As these two machines were fully depreciated employer hardware, they were scrapped, rather than provided to Apple for hardware diagnostic and likely expensive repair.

  • Low vibration when plugged into a 220v outlet

Has anyone ever experienced a low vibration coming from their macbook pro when plugged into/ charging from a 220v source?

I noticed that, if my MB is charging whilst plugged into a 4-way adaptor plug (along with other things), such as a lamp, my mobile phone and a heated blanket, this causes the mild vibration on my MB case. I then discovered that unplugging the heated blanket from the 4-way adaptor causes the vibration to instantly stop. Leaving the phone charging and the lamp turned on appears to have no effect on the vibration at all.
So, if you're charging/operating other things/devices from the same adaptor (power source) as you're charging your MB from, then try unplugging these and just leaving the MB to charge form this power source on its own... see if that makes any difference.
It stopped the vibration for me anyway.

It sounds very very much like the battery. You will need to have it replaced. If you put the failing one in yourself you will need to pay as your Warranty is now void.

my new ipad mini will not charge when plugged into adapter. What should I try?

Does the charger get warm at all? Plug the cable into your computer with iTunes open. Does it say not charging.? If it does, the cable is good. The iPad will charge very slowly when pluged into your computer.
