Battery is dying quickly

Recently, my battery is only lasting approximately 7 hours instead of the 1.5-2 days that it used to...How can I fix this?

I had a similar problem last week, and searching the web is what brought me here in the first place, actually.
A quick search of the archives brings this post string:
http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Bold/Recent-Rapid-Battery-Drain-Problem/m-p/478038...
I thought letting a Guru's answer be used was better than trying to advise you myself on my first post. I will say that the "battery pop reboot" mentioned fixed my problem on the first try.
Hope this helps.

  • My iPhone 4s battery is dying quickly. What do I do to fix that?

I recently updated to the newest software, and now my battery dies without my phone being in use. It will sit in my pocket for an hour and loses most of its battery. Is anyone else having this problem? How do I fix it?

Nickstro, the same is happening to me. Ever since I uploaded ios7 to my iPhone 4S the battery has been running down at an alarming rate. I just left it for about an hour on my desktop and it lost 23% battery. I wasn't even using it.
I've tried restarting it but no change. I've turned off everything that could be dragging the memory down too, such as push notifications and instant App updates. I'm at a loss as to its cause. Is it the new software?
    Any help gratefully received.

  • My battery is dying quickly and getting warm

The sound of my phone stopped working (unless headphones are plugged in), so I tried resetting it. Then the problem wasn't fixed and the battery life became very short. Now my phone dies if it is untouched (with all my apps closed) overnight and the sound works for the first minute of going use and then stops. Also, my phone is always warm.

Back up and restore via iTunes. If the problem continues, restore as a new device and test. If the problem is solved, there is some kind of corruption in your backup file or maybe it's one of your apps causing problems. If it continues, take it to an Apple Store for evaluation of a possible hardware problem.

  • EOS rebel T2i battery is dying really quick. Is there a setting that uses the battery?

I replaced my battery in my 2  year old rebel T2i because the battery started dying a lot sooner.  The new battery didn't last much longer. I have the "Auto Power Off" setting to 30 seconds.  Is there another setting that will keep the battery / camera on or is there some other problem?  OR, is there a way to reboot the system to factory defaults?  Thanks.

I did a search at images.google.com for "canon t2i menu" and noticed that I can find versions with 2 yellow wrenches as well as 3 yellow wrenches.
Here's a link to your camera's manual at the Canon site.
    http://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/9/0300004289/02/eosrt2i-eos550d-im3-c-en.pdf
The instructions are on page 144 -- but it definitely shows that it's the 3rd wrench tab based on that manual.
This many be related to firmware version.
The last firmware for that camera is version 1.0.9.  You can find it here:  http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/eos_slr_camera_systems/eos_digital_slr_cameras/eos_re...
Updating firmware is fairly easy but they DO want you to have a freshly charged battery (and you said your battery is dying "really quick" -- not sure how long that actually is.  It takes just a few minutes to apply new firmware but it would be bad if the camera died before the update completed.

  • Reinstall io5? battery is dying very quickly... 4% every 30 minutes

Does anyone know how to reinstall io5 by downloading again from scratch?
My battery is dying very quickly... I visited apple in San Antonio and they said that I needed to reinstall because of "springboard" restarting over and over...
they said it was common problem with upgrade.
And they mentioned that I needed to goto:
    Settings
    General
    Reset
    Erase All Content & Settings
My iphone4 keeps some settings and isn't quite doing what is should.  MY iPhone ISN'T JB and that isn't an option for me.
Any advise... please text me at (361) 444-2409.
    Thank you Everyone !

First, please don't put any of your contacts on this thread.
If you want to reinstall iOS5 and start from Scratch then do this.
    1. Open your itunes.
    2. Connect your iphone to your computer
    3. Once connected, click on your iphone (located on the left window).
    4. Click Restore
    5. It will Restore
    6. Once complete, Set up as new phone.
*As for number 6, if you set up as new phone, everything in your phone is lost and is pretty much like the way you got it out of the box.

  • New battery that is dying quickly

I bought a Macbook Pro in August 2009. This laptop was advertised as having 7 hour battery life. However my battery only lasts about 2.5 hours. I am not running multiple programs or keeping the screen brightness on full. I usually let my computer sleep but rarely turn it off. I can't imagine why the battery is dying after 4 months of usage... any suggestions?

Lets find out if it really is dying, Beardylady.
If you Head to the Apple menu, select "About this Mac" and then click on "More Info" a utility called "System Profiler" will open up.
Look at the"Hardware" tab and select "Power". See what it says the " Full charge capacity " is, how many "cycles" it has completed, and what it says about its "Condition".
If it is "dying", and less than twelve months old, then Apple will provide a replacement under warranty, but let's see if it really is first. There are other reasons why charge life may be reduced like this.

  • Battery Dies Pretty Quick. Help Please.

Okay so I have had my iPod for about three years. I never really had a problem with the battery until I dropped it in the water bowl. It's now starting to get on my nerves because my cord that charges it is already breaking and I haven't had time to go buy a new one. I have googled questions but none of them apply to me or help. My brightness is pretty much always on the lowest setting. People have said that having the notifications on can kill the battery or use it faster. Is this true? I am wondering this because my notifications are always on. I am looking at buying the iPhone 4s but I have heard bad things and good things about the battery life. I would like the truth about the battery life it would be a big help because either way I am probably going to end up buying it. But, back to the problem does anyone know why my battery is dying so quick? Could it be because of the water? Thanks.

Yes, notification and also location services and wifi and blutooth drain the battery.
With time/number of charge cycles the battery capacity decrease.
You did not descripe/quantify what you mean by Pretty Quick
I have a iPhone 4S and am satisfied with battery life.

  • Battery keeps dieing!

ive had my blackberry curve since January now and for the past 2 weeks i was having to charge my phone at least 5 times a day so decided to buy a new battery, i bought the new battery just over a week ago and it started dieing quickly again. my phone died this morning withing 2 hours of fully charginig it and now it wont turn back on, i have had it plugged into the computer for an hour now and it still wont turn on, it has a constant red light (like its going to turn on) i have taken my battery out and put it back in a few times now and it still wont turn on.. can anyone help?

I know Apple says you don't have to calibrate the battery for our phones, but it seems that since the ios7 update, it's a must. Here's how i do it, and so far it worked, my phone shuts down at 1%.
    1. Charge your phone till 100%.
    2. Use it until it shuts down. (When it shuts down, try to power it on a few times over the course of an hour just to make sure it doesn't start)
    3. Connect it to the charger, shut it down the moment it powers on and leave it there for about 4-6 hours.
    4. Power it on and use it normally,
    5. Drain your phone, use it until it turns off then repeat steps 3 and 4.
    6. Return to your regular charge cycle.
    Hope this helps.

  • My ipod battery dies pretty quick?

I had this thing since day one meaning i got this when it first came out. Wheni had it the battery never died so quickly and like now it does. Although i do skate alot and i take it with me and of course i've fallen alot on it and it still plays like a champ but dies quick. Do i need a new battery?? and if so how much do they cost?? Thanks

Maybe you should start your own thread.
You have a 1st Generation iPod that is just over 3 months old? How did you accomplish that?
You have called AppleCare? Visited a Genius Bar at an Apple Store?

    Restored your iPod in iTunes?
How are you charging your iPod? What are you running on it that it dies in an hour?

  • I own a Pavillion dv7 and my battery completely died. Shouldn't this work with just the plug in?

HELP! I have a huge presentation on Monday and my battery just died. I would think my Pavillion would work without a battery in it but it will not turn on with or without the battery in it. Shouldn't my laptop work plugged in without the battery?

It should but if the AC adapter has died, the battery would run down and then you would also not have AC power so it might well not be the battery but the adapter. The only quick fix for that is to go get a universal adapter at Best Buy or Frys but they cost way too much, like $80-100. If you live in a decent sized city you might also have a computer shop that stocks common laptop AC adapters, and yours is a very common type.

  • Why does my fully charged iPad 2 battery keep dying at 50% charge? I have updated to iOS 7 and this started happening. What could be the cause of it?

My iPad's battery keeps dying. When I plug it in and put it back on, the screen shows a drained battery. After a few moments it boots up. However, when I check the battery charge, it's at 52% or so. Can someone tell me what's causing this? And what can I do to fix it?

For proper reporting of the battery’s state of charge, be sure to go through at least one charge cycle per month (charging the battery to 100% and then completely running it down).

  • HT5012 I have a first generation Iphone 5 and my question is why is my phone heating up so bad to the point where its almost to hot to touch on the back. On top of that the battery is dieing so fast that it usually lasts about 3 hrs on a full charge. Help

So basically my iPhone 5 has been heating up so bad that it feels like its about to over heat and die. I've never had this happen to any other of my iPhones.  On top of that the battery is dying so fast that on a full charge is lasts about 3 hrs give or take. Ive tried closing all my apps like i usually do anyways, i tuned down the light, I've reset it and booted it back up, reset it and used iCloud backup, ext... Nothing is working. I'm to the point where i  almost want to get a new phone. I even tried calling apple support and they couldn't help me cause from what it sounded like they had no idea what they were doing. If anyone has any comments on how to fix this i would greatly appreciate it . I do love apple products and i have a upgrade and plan on upgrading my phone when the new one comes out but for the time being IDE like to fix the phone i have now that I've only had for a little bit anyways. Thanks

You are probably going to have to take a trip to the Apple Store, but you can also make sure that:
Bluetooth is turned off when not in use
Location Services are only turned on for those locations that you want a constant update to
Background App Refresh is turned off
    Automatic Downloads is turned off
Cellular Roaming is turned off when you don't need it
Go through your Settings and take a look at all of the settings to determine if you have any turned on that may be using a lot of battery, and which you really don't need.
