Battery is going dead very fast

i have HP Pavilion g6 model notebook, a bit more than 2 years old. untill last month my battery health status was about 72% good (means only 28% dead). but in last few days the battery is going dead at a very fast rate about 1% every 2 days. the status is now 48% in just a month fallen from 72%. i don't understand the reason behind this. neither my laptop is getting overheated nor there is any other hardware problem. i work on my notebook for about 6 hours daily as usual. i don't even run heavy softwars on battery power, i switch it to AC power while working with heavy softwares or games.
plz help me out with this...

Hi,
Please use the following test:

You may need to replace battery after 500 to 700 charging cycles.
Regards.

This is likely coming from a third-party program. You can try to Reset Firefox. [[Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems]]

I have owned the iphone for about 2 months and things wrer great and recently the battery has started going dead in 3 to 4 hours and the phone gets hot. i have spoken to numerous people in my same area and they are experienceing the same thing. i was told to reset my phone to original setting and that helped for 2 days and then right back to the same thing. was there some type of new patch down loaded that is causing this?

It's likely that there is a runaway app. It can be any app that uses Notifications, but the most common problem is with email, especially Push accounts like Exchange, Gmail, Yahoo or MobileMe.
If you have any such accounts do the following:
    1. Go to Settings/Mail,Contacts,Calendar, tap on the account name and turn it off (turn off the ACCOUNT, not PUSH).
    2. Reboot the phone - hold HOME and SLEEP for about 10 seconds, until an Apple logo appears.
    3. After the phone comes back to life go back into settings and turn the account back on.
If it is not mail try turning off Notifications. If the problem goes away you must trey each of the apps in turn to see which is causing the problem
It is also (rarely) Safari, if you exit the app on a page that updates automatically.
This is not tied to any one version of the firmware; it happens with all of them.

  • Since the new software up date my battery life is going down very fast. How can i fix this?

Ever since i updated my iphone 4 with the new software. My cell battery life is gone so fast. I dont know how to fix this and wondering if there is any one that can....

There are numerous posts in this forum on how to maximize battery life.  Either look in the "More Like This" box to your right or do a forum search.

  • After upgrade to IOS 6 my iphone 4S is heating up a lot and the battery is getting depleted very fast (within 2-3 hrs).

I have upgraded my Iphone 4S to IOS 6.0 Yesterday. Afterwards I noticed that the phone gets hot quite often, even when it is idle. Additionally the battery gets depleted very fast ( 100% to 20% within 3 hrs while I was reading a book on the app mobibook for about 30 min). Last night, I left the phone connected to the charger, as I normally do, I found the phone to be extremely hot in the morning. Any help will be appreciated. In case there is no rememdy I would like to rollback to 5.1.1.

If your iPhone 4S is extremely hot, do the following:
Turn off your iPhone 4S and wait for 1 - 1 1/2 hours.
    Turn on your iPhone 4S.
If the problem occurs, turn off your iPhone 4S and wait for 2 - 3 hours.
    Turn on your iPhone 4S.
If your iPhone 4S is getting low, charge your phone
    Repeat in step 1.

  • Nokia 6300 Battery Discharges too early very fast

    Yeah nj7_ i'm craving for that setting.Unfortunately,brightness adjustment isn't present on Series 40 V3 phones We're still waiting an answer from Nokia.AFAIK,previous series 40 v2 phones had this setting..eg N5140 and N5140i.
Factors that can drain the battery fast on N6300
    -16Million colour display
-It uses a BL-4C 820mah(Which is kinda insufficient)
    -The screen is very bright

  • 4s battery going dead very quickly

My 4s battery has suddenly started going flat in about 3 hours without being used...

This may seem simple... but have you tried all of the techniques listed to reduce battery such as:
    Reducing screen brightness
Turning off mobile data (in particular 3G) when not in usage
    Turning off location services
Killing any apps which could be backgrounding such as Spotify
    More here... http://www.apple.com/batteries/iphone.html
If none of them work, and if sepehrg's possible solution doesn't work, take it into an Apple retail store and they may exchange it if there is an evident hardware problem. If you choose to do that, remember to say that you've tried everything listed above and a solution may be much quicker.

  • Battery Goes Dead Very Quickly

I recently got a 9300 (within last few weeks) from AT&T since my prior Blackberry was having problems (it was I think an 8900).  In any case it worked fine (and I was able to transfer all information etc.).  When I went to back it up yesterday it
uploaded new OS software (5 level to 6 level) and since then battery dies really quickly.  I turned backlight down to 10% and nothing appears to be running in the background or anything and the wireless and bluetooth are all off.  What else can I do?  The main thing I have liked about my Blackberry's (this is my fourth or so) is the long batter life.

  • Replaced Battery But NEW Battery still going dead fast

On May 28 2010, I put a NEW battery in my 2007 MacBook Pro3.1 and now this new NEW battery is not holding charge. I charge to 100% and leave off overnight (8 hrs), but still it only runs on battery for about 1.5 hrs before I have to plug in to recharge. Any suggestions? Here is the Power/battery info:
    Model Information:
    Manufacturer: SMP
    Device name: ASMB012
    Pack Lot Code: 0002
    PCB Lot Code: 0000
    Firmware Version: 0110
    Hardware Revision: 0500
    Cell Revision: 0200
    Charge Information:
    Charge remaining (mAh): 3331
    Fully charged: No
    Charging: No
    Full charge capacity (mAh): 5370
    Health Information:
    Cycle count: 24
    Condition: Normal
    Battery Installed: Yes
    Amperage (mA): -1303
    Voltage (mV): 11677
    Thanks.

There is nothing in those numbers to suggest a problem. Did you make sure to calibrate your battery properly? When you say you leave it "off" overnight, are you leaving it plugged in or unplugging? There is no reason not to unplug it while it's sleeping or powered off.
Also, what are you doing while running on battery power? Dim the screen, turn off things like Bluetooth and Airport (if you can), avoid graphics-heavy activities like gaming and videos--these drain your battery much more quickly.
24 cycles is a fair amount for just one month, almost one a day. To make your battery last longer, use it less often and stay on AC power when it's available.

  • Battery randomly goes dead.

My phone says I have full battery life or a little lower but then randomly it will say less than 10% battery life then go dead. This has happened several times. Restarting it and restoring it hasn't helped.

When you restored the iPhone, did you restore it from the backup or set it up as a new phone?
If you restored from backup, try restoring and setting it up as a new phone. This will eliminate corrupted/damaged content as an issue.
If this doesn't help, it's time to set up a hardware repair for your iPhone. You can set up a Mac Genius appointment at http://apple.com/retail or call AppleCare if there isn't an Apple Store near where you're at.
    Best of luck!

  • Download usage is going up very fast, even when no...

My son has BT Infinity and has tried to find out why the downloading keeps going up  - upto 1 GB a day, even when he is not using the internet, and when they do its only things like facebook. He doesn't stream movies or anything like that. He went to work the other day and after a 12 hour shift it had increased by 5 GB with no one at home.
He spent 3 hours on the phone to BT customer support - only to be finally connected to a supervisor/manager who disconnected the call.
There seems to be no realy support from BT once this stuff is installed.
Has anyone else had problems with rogue downloading.
Also, is there a way to change the WEP security keys on the infinity box, he doesn't seem to have been left any instructions on how to do it...
He has now switched off the internet/BT infinity box.
Why can't you get decent support from knowledgeable people these days?
    Regards
    Russ

Infinity download usage seems to be recorded using a random number generator.
When I switched to infinity from standard broadband (option 1), the broadband usage monitor showed a dramatic increase - a typical month's usage in a week - even though we were doing nothing different.
The BT usage monitor hasn't been working for me for the last month, mind, so who knows what's going on now?
    Hi.
It is more than likely that anyone's usage will increase enormously when changing to infinity from a different package - depending on your previous speed etc. Typcailly views on youtube might default to HD rather than a lower quality, and other similar things. You might view a webpage which may have video content still buffering when moving away, but with infinity the whole content could easily download due to the speed.
As you were previously on option 1, with a limited usage before extra charges - it would have been prudent to keep a note of the usage and be aware of what was being done online. However with the unlimited infinity packages, there would be no need to keep tabs on usage, even if it was in the "mind" so to speak. Hence usage can easily rocket.
What link are you using to access the usage monitor ?
