  • My iPhone 4s battery is messed up. care of it

I charge my battery to 100% but as soon as I take my iPhone off the charger
    It immediately goes to 95%
Is there something I can do to fix this or should I
Just let apple take care of it? I also have AppleCare.

Reset iPhone, hold both home and power buttons for about 10 seconds until the iPhone restarts itself. Ignore the "slide to power off" let it restart itself. See if better. If it still bothers you, make Genius reservation and take to Apple for evaluation.

  • My battery is messed up?

What is wrong with it? I have nothing open, other than this one app. It is only a month old, and Mountain Lion seems to have made it this way?

    Only 3:20 of battery life?

open activity monitor - under all processes - see what using up most of your CPU's resources.
highlight anything over 10% in the %CPU section and hit quit process.
if you're not using it, turn bluetooth off.
    turn off automatic brightness.
turn off infrared remote control receiver if you''re not using an apple remote...
try those first and see if your battery life improves...
    good luck

    Hi Lmcg12345,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand it can be both concerning and frustrating when your iPhone seems to randomly power itself off. The attached article has some good troubleshooting steps for this type of situation that I would recommend going through.

Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.

  • Battery indicator showing fully charged when plugged in but battery percentage is not

I've had the iPhone 5 for about 6 months now and starting about a week ago the battery started messing up.  I plug in my phone to charge and the indicator at the top right shows the fully charged indicator when the battery percentage is clearly not 100%.  Randomly it will switch to the charging indicator and actually charge but otherwise it stays like that and just continues to lose battery while it is plugged in.  I've tried my friend's charger and it still does the same thing so it's not the charger that is malfunctioning.

Seems like battery is faulty. Make Genius reservation or set up service and take or send to Apple for resolution under Warranty.

  • My ipod mini battery

I need some help with a problem i am having. My battery is messing up. This morning at about 9:00 i disconnected my ipod and it said it was fully charged but then by noon it said that it was dead and it wouldnt play any music. But then at 6:00, i used it again without charging it, and its about halfway full. Is there anything that I can do to fix this or do i need a new battery? Also how many pairs of earphones can you receive from the warranty?

    - reset, several times
    - update the firmware
    - calibrate the battery and the battery meter
As many as necessary, one pair at a time.

  • Installed Battery Updater 1.2, but MacBook still shutting down

Lately my MacBook has been shutting down with about 18% battery life left. I came onto these forums, followed the directions for removing Battery Updater 1.3, successfully installed 1.2, but it's still shutting down.
Is there anything further I can do? Is it possibly just an old battery? (I bought this computer in December '06.) If it matters, my cycle count is 335. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

I was having the same problem and now it is fixed-- here's an update:
I finally had to take my macbook to the apple store. Basically, the battery died (saw the X in the battery status and it would only run plugged in). They got the battery to work again in the store by resetting the SMC (which I had tried too, but whatever) but they agreed the battery was messed up.
The weird thing is it showed my battery had like 422 charge cycles, even though I've had it like 8 months and I only run it off the battery a few times a day (and not often all the way until the battery runs out).
Anyway they replace the battery, and while I was there I showed them the stains on the top part of my case (the piece with the keyboard) and I told them about my screen sometimes flickering in terms of brightness. They said that those were known issues, and they'd fix it.
So I got it back 24 hours later, with a new battery and new keyboard piece. Cost me nothing and it works great. It is practically like a new computer and my battery lasts MUCH longer than it used to.

  • How much does it cost to get a iPhone 5 battery replaced

My iPhone's battery is messed (please don't comment on all the way to fix it) it's makes its max charge at 20% and shows the fully charged symbol even though it has only 20% battery and I'm deciding to get it replaced and I want to know how much it costs

Your one-year warranty includes replacement coverage for a defective battery. You can extend your coverage to two years from the date of your iPod purchase with the AppleCare Protection Plan for iPod. During the plan’s coverage period, Apple will replace the battery if it drops below 50% of its original capacity. If it is out of warranty, Apple offers a battery replacement for $49 (iPod shuffle), $59 (iPod nano and classic), $79 (iPod touch) plus $6.95 shipping, subject to local tax. • New battery does not charge completely

Hi, I recently purchased a third-party battery that worked fine for the first few times and then started to act up. It will charge for about 5% and then the charger LEDs turn green, and I have to manually pull the battery out of the computer, and put it back in before it will continue to charge another 5%. I can completely charge the battery in this manner, but I have to sit by the computer for 2 hours until it finally is completed. The original Apple battery still charges just fine. Is there a way to calibrate the battery? I have reset the PMU, and tried everything else that I can think of. I called the battery's manufacturer, and they said to run the "Battery Configuration Wizard." Sounds like Windows to me! They told me that it was my computer, not the battery. I'm not sure what else to try.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi there, Robert!
Actually, my battery was from www.mrbattery.com, and it was just a generic battery that is made in China... My guess is that the internals for these cheaper 3rd-party batteries are all from the same manufacturer...
We (My dad and I) did some more testing, and we both concluded that the actual circuit-board in the battery is messed up... There is nothing that I know of that can help this problem from the external side if things: i.e. charging/discharging. What I finally ended up doing, (since my original battery was really dead) was to carefully open up both batteries, and (dad did the soldering:-) unsolder the Apple "smart-board" and resolder it into the 3rd-party one. (after unsoldering the original board in that battery, of course.) You'll have to transfer the actual battery cells to the Apple-style case, because on mine, the buttons and charge LEDs were different, and all that is on the board. I hope all this makes sense!!! You'll also have to be very careful of the circuit board when cutting the case open, as it is right up against the outer plastic.
If you would like, I can send you some detailed instructions of our procedure...
    Hope some of this helps!!!

  • Battery/power issue

I have a Macbook 2.16 that has a unique problem. The battery got messed and and the unit no longer works with a battery, even a new one. If you use the battery, the machine powers up but goes right to sleep, with the sleep light glowing. If you remove the battery and plug it in, the machine works fine.
Any idea's what might be fried in the power unit? Any other ideas?
    Thank you

What do you mean the battery got messed? If you spilled something in it your going to need to get your MacBook repaired but your warranty WILL NOT cover it.

  • Power Mac G5 Dual 2.5 freezes up, Power Mac G5 Dual 2.5 freezes up

    Hello
I inherited a Dual 2.5 PPC Power Mac G5 from my sister. She was having problems with it suddenly freezing up. She replaced the hard drive but that didn't fix it, and sicne she had a newer Macbook Pro she gave up on it. When I got it I replaced the video card on it with an ATI Radeon, and it seemed to run fine for a while, and then the problem returned. It seemed to have returned after I did all the Apple software upgrades on it (It's running Leopard), but that might be a coincidence. I noticed under Diagnostics on the power up test that some RAM had failed. I also noticed that it was running on 1 gb of RAM even though 2 gb were installed. I removed the faulty Ram (4 256 mb dimms) and hoped that that was the problem. Unfortunately it wasn't. I also installed a temperture reading program. It showed that CPU A is running around 80 C at times and is usually about 10C hotter than CPU B. I'm not sure though if 80C is normal for a G5 or not. I noticed that when it was unplugged that it wouldn't retain the time and date, and took a look at the battery, and sure enough it was starting to leak (but hadn't leaked on to any components). I've ordered a new bttery for it.
I ran a check with Disk Utility and found the HD was ok, but permissions were a bit messed up. Disk Utility wasn't able to fix some of the permissions, but i don't think this is the underlying problem.
I've also opened it and gave everything a thourough vacuuming and cleaning and reseated any removable parts. I took the cover off the liquid cooling unit and vacuumed out the dust. There didn;t seem to be any coolant leaks I could see.
Any suggestions on where I should go from here? I unfortuantely don't have any of the disks for it, so I can't run the AHT until I find one for it (the one for my Macbook Pro wouldn't work).
Sometimes it just freezes. Other times it freezes and the computer fans go on high. It will finally get to a point where it shows the grey multi-language restart screen (where it says to hold down the button to shut it off and the restart).
It was frustrating because on my workbench it was running fine after I switched the video card, and it didn't freeze at all. When I moved it to our computer desk though, the problems returned. Tonight it was to the point where it didn't last 5 minutes.
    My thoughts are:
    1. Maybe All the RAM is bad
    2. Maybe the dead battery is messing it up?
    3. When it is heating up with use, something is expanding and not connecting any longer.
    What are your thoughts?

    Hi Curtis,
I'm not sure though if 80C is normal for a G5 or not. I noticed that when it was unplugged that it wouldn't retain the time
Nope, not normal, way too hot, above 70°C... If you have any temps in the 70°C/160°F range, that's likely it.
Have you blown the dust out of everything with high pressure air?\
    1. Maybe All the RAM is bad

  • Logic 9 crashed and won't open again

    Hello everyone,
I have the latest Logic Pro 9 and I'm working on a MacBook Pro
    2.7 ghz
    4 gigs memory.
Started recording a track with midi and audio tracks,
At one point logic crashed so I reopened it and kept recording.
Everything was fine, then I shut my computer down and opened
It again and it started searching for my battery drums which are all in the correct folder.
After a few battery drum searches it just stays there trying to load ??!
    No more dialog messages ?
I have never ever had an issue with either logic or my MacBook Pro.
I try to open up early saves and sometimes it opens but not all the time.
Anyone having the same issue ??
Also since my system crashed I opened a fresh logic and dragged and dropped all the midi and audio files to a brand new project and I'm still having the same issue,it won't fully load up ?
I'm starting to wonder if battery is messing with the computer ?
The only fix I found was to shut down the computer and start it up again and then it loads sometimes ??
    Any advice would be helpful,
    Thank you

It seems you have a corrupted Project so to rescue most of the data from this corrupted project you can open a new project and then use the Import Data feature of Logic to bring across the tracks from your corrupted project... to this new Project

  • Iphone 3GS all of a sudden will not charge!

I'm hoping to possibly get an solution to the following problem. I haven't seen too many of people posting about this problem.
I've had my Iphone 32 gig 3gs for about 3 months. Everything has been working great. It has good battery life, syncs with itunes, charges with the OEM wall charger and charges on my iMac. I have the latest 3.1 firmware installed on it.
I usually plug the iphone into the charger when i got to sleep and when I wake up, its at 100% battery life. A couple days ago, I woke up and the battery life was at 52%. I thought it was odd. I tried to charge it again using a different wall outlet, a different usb cable, through my imac, using my belkin FM car adapter. No luck. Finially, the phone just ran out of batteries and now its a brick.
I tested the usb cable and wall charger on my old ipod nano and it worked perfectly. I tried to plug the phone into my imac and reboot the computer. I was able to put the phone into DFU mode. I could reinstall the firmware, but after that was done, the iphone didn't boot.
Now, its to the point where the the red battery light with the plug-in and lightning log doesn't even appear on the phone anymore when i plug the phone in.
I think it could be either 1 of 2 things. The logic board that allows charge to go to the battery got messed up, or it might be some software glitch. The iphone functioned normall from 52% down to 0%. It just refused to charge and now is out of juice.
Anyone out there have a similar issue? If so, did you end up finding a solution? Your help is appreciated. Thanks!

The same problem here, the phone does not charge when connected to the wall or to the computer. I get this message on windows vista: "USB device not recognized. One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it..."

I reinstalled Itunes, restarted Iphone application services on Windows, I use the original wire and charger.
