Battery level decreases when charging ?

I plugged my macbook pro in to charge. It charged all the way up till ~90 something percent. In terms of duration, it said that it would finish charging in two minutes. Then 4 minutes.... 6 minutes. Then I decided to turn it off.
Now that I have turned it back on it is only at 88%.
Weird. Everything seems to work ok.

  • 100% to 65% Battery Level Decrease in Two Hours

My question is: "Is anyone else seeing rapid battery level drop with iPhone since upgrading to IOS 8?"
Since upgrading to IOS 8 on Wednesday the 17th, I have experienced RAPID battery level drop between charges.  I am now having to charge my iPhone 5s 32 GB half way through the morning, after lunch and when I get home.  If it weren't for my Mophie Jet Pack, a car charger and a charger at my desk, I wouldn't make it through the day.  Believe me, I have read every battery conservation tip out there. I have turned so many features/functions off that I'm really starting to wonder if IOS 8 is worth it for the iPhone 5S and below.  If I weren't faced with a daunting downgrade process, I would do it.  At least I used to be able to make it to 7 PM on IOS 7 before I put the phone on a charger or flipped on the Jet Pack.
Using the new Battery Usage report under Settings > General > Usage > Battery Usage   I see that Calendar and Notes apps have taken the lion share of the battery charge over the past 24 hours, and there is a notation stating that the usage was "Low Signal" which I assume means that the phone was trying to do its thing with a poor cell phone signal.  At work, however, I am completely on wi-fi and not cell.  So this isn't very helpful.
On the other hand, I have an iPad Mini with Retina and an iPad 3rd Gen that have been upgraded.  Neither of them have had any problems.  In fact the iPad 3rd Gen still has 92% charge after sitting in my backpack all weekend long (since being charged Friday morning).  So what I am seeing only seems to affect my iPhone.
I do remember similar issues with the IOS 7 initial upgrade, which were resolved with subsequent patches/upgrades.

Thanks Lawrence.  We use CommonTime mSuite to integrate our Lotus Notes with iPhone's Calendar, Contacts and email using the Exchange iPhone connector, and I am one of the administrators for mSuite.  I have deleted and re-added the Exchange account on my 5s running IOS 8 multiple times, and have done the same on an iPad Gen 3 and an iPad Mini.  All with the same results.  (The results are that email comes down, but calendar and contacts do not, and email will reload every so often.)  I've deleted the account on the mNotes server a couple of times as well, to no avail.  I have an old iPhone 4 still running IOS 7.1.2, and setting the exchange account up on it, immediately everything came down successfully from Lotus Notes onto the old iPhone.  This is definitely an IOS 8/CommonTime issue, and CommonTime has acknowledged that there is a problem, though they have as yet no fix.  The one good thing to come of this is I now know what was killing my battery. After 7 hours of use last night (regular use on Facebook and Feedly) my battery had only gone down to 83%. Other of our 46 users who have upgraded to IOS 8 have the same problem as I.

  • The battery level decrease

hi i m sashil recently i update the software of my x3 frm the near nokia care.Nowadays when i chat with my frens using nimbuzz n the listen 3 to 4 songs my battery level decrease.how is that should i have to change my battery

To all who has low battery problem.
please see that all apps are close and exit after use.
use always GSM mode as long as possible.
switch into 3G or 3.5G when ever necessary only.
even after wards battery goes down please see whether u r instrument get heated up.
then it may be due to some app running without u r knowledge. if u cannot trace it, switch off the phone and then remove the battery for a while and then refix.
then heating will not be there and battery can go for some time.
if all fails, try to replace the battery with a genuine Nokia one.

  • Iphone4s shut down at battery level 30% when using 3G

    hi,
i am gan from malaysia, iphon4s 6.0.1 user, phone age 1.5 years old
Recently have 1 unique problem to ask for buddy helps in here. thank you 1st for all.
my iphone4s shut down at battery level 30% when i use 3G service only, turn on 3G service to use around 5 hours to shut down my phone, from 100% - 30%.
but, it doesnt happen when i turn on my WIFI, or use normally.
    hard reset - done..
    soft reset - done.
    itunes restore - done.
    battery calibration - done.
battery - it seems not a battery problem because when i use WIFI, or normal use without data, i can use until 1% until phone shut down itself.
upgrade ios 7.0.4 - the battery could drain more faster if i upgrade to this firmware.
i have no idea, even i go for apple store, their technical helps are same with my level, except they ask me to change a new iphone, wow..
anybody in here could help or experience this?

anyone can help me to solve this problem?

  • Bulging Battery / excessive heat when charging

    Hello,
I have a bit of a problem with my blackberry:
    1. Annoying unread messages that won't go away
    2. Excessive Heat when charging
    3. Bulging Battery
Do you guys thinks that this warrants for a warranty exchange? Or is it ok for me to keep using it?

With annoying unread messages, you have to deal it with your carrier if its SMS or email provider if its email.
With bulging battery and excessive heat when charging - please refrain from using your phone while charging OR you may look for the best Blackberry charger (Model: PSMC04A) because the output is 700mA unlike the charger that came with your phone, its only 200-450mA. This is not meant to use while you are charging but because its a pretty fast charger, it doesnt take much time to complete the 100%

  • Battery percentage decreasing while charging!

Preface: Please forgive my technological ineptitude in advance. I am completely computer illiterate and have embarrasingly little tech vocabulary.
Okay. Help! While my MacBook Pro is plugged in and charging, the battery percentage is going DOWN instead of up. Yikes. If I stop using the computer, close it and let it charge, the battery percentage goes up when I check it after 20 minutes or so. As soon as I start using it while it's still plugged in however, the battery drains (goes down even though it's plugged in). I've pasted the System Report on Power below (I have no idea what any of it means), the recommendation was from another topic forum. Does anyone know what is happening w/ my laptop? It should also be noted that this is a brand new charger (60W MagSafe Power Adapter), but was still happening before with my old charger before it died (the magnetic piece detached from the part you plug into the computer). Also, it seems to be getting really hot (the new one AND old one!) Thank you for your help!!!

  • My battery capacity decreases per charge!!!

Hi guys I need help, I am very frustrated about this matter , This is my first macbook pro retine late 2013 the latest one out yet 4gb ram baseline model with the dubal core i5. I started playing LOL or League of Legends an online game a few weeks back.
When I did start I was completely hooked and played multiple hours even with the battery charger plugged in. The battery lost its total capacity from 6300 its about 6200 then it fell 6150 ok then I statred carying ok I LOVE MY MAC AND ITS BATTERY.
So i went like ok i will play max 40 mins per day, fine huh 1 time per charge cycle make sure the charge cycle is 20 hrs long I have been trying to do this more or less BUT EVEYTIME I PLAY THE GAME EVEN IF THE CHARGE drop is only 30% my total battery capacity drops.
I am checking this through MULTIPLE apps and every time i play the drop is bloody 0.5 percent and i  CANT TAKE IT and when i dont play on a chrge cycle there is NO DROP IN THE OVERALL capacity.
Note i take soo much care when i pay i charge it to 100 and keep it ice cold when  i play and its not plugged in. Any advice are the apps wrong is my capacity decresing are macs not meant for gaming or if i conture down this path will i have to eventully replace my battery just any adivce or thoughts on this matter will be VERY APPRECIATED!!!

When Taxing the system, Running it Hard as most all games do, it will draw power from both the AC charger and the battery at the same time.
The AC charger Apple supplies is not large enough to do both Power the system and charge the battery, or even keep the same charge on the battery, when the system is working hard.
As to the overall capacity of the battery that will go down with the increase of charge cycles.
What you are seeing is completely normal for all Mac notebook computers.

  • Why does my battery run out when charging?

I updated my iPad to iOS 7.0.2 and when ever I use my iPad and it's charging, it will still lose battery life. Is there anyway to fix this?

Make sure you are using a 10W/12W charger and plug into wall socket.

    Dear Nokia Experts,

Guys whenever am charging my E6 ,its getting heat up.
Plz suggest some solution for this ,or some SW update to resolve this problem.
    Thanks,

It is normal for the battery to warm up during charging but it should not get hot. If you are worried that it is getting a little too hot then you should have it checked out at your local Nokia Care Point.

  • When charging from a wall socket the iPod does not show the battery charging or the flash indicator in the charge level icon . Both these do appear when charging from my Mac.   Is this normal?

When charging from a wall socket with a mac recommended charger, the battery icon in the top right hand corner does not show the flash sign and the running battery level is also not shown .   Is this the normal situation?

    Hi,
so when you hold the menu+select buttons it won't reset - show the apple logo?
If you can get the apple logo to show, then press the select and play buttons to put it into disk mode.
What happens when you connect it to the computer? Sometimes, you can see the ipod in disk management if you open itunes before connecting the ipod. Once itunes is open, select Edit/preferences. This will keep itunes busy so that you can read the ipod in disk managment.

  • When I plug my iPad into a wall circuit and leave it for 18 hours the battery level only goes from 55% to 66% and then it quotes charging. Is this normal or do I have trouble with my adapter, it is the one that came with the iPad?

When I plug my Ipad into a wall circut it will not fully charge, It only charges up to 66% does anyone no why?

I can't tell you why it is doing this but it should not take anywhere near that long to recharge.
Try another power adapter if you have access to one - borrow one from a friend, try another wall socket, another cable ... take it to an Apple Store and let them try to charge it for you.
You can try resetting the iPad and see if that helps but I have my doubts - but it will not hurt anything either.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Your battery gauge may be giving you an incorrect reading - but I think that would be a long shot as well. How many hours of use do you get at 66%?
You can read this about the iPad battery and how to maintain and care for the battery. .

    This copied from the site
    Use Your iPad Regularly
For proper reporting of the battery’s state of charge, be sure to go through at least one charge cycle per month (charging the battery to 100% and then completely running it down).

  • Battery level when out of box + real autonomy

    Hi!!
I just bought a New Ipad (3). When out of the box, the battery was only charged to 69%, is that normal? Right after I turned it on for the first time and set it up, the battery decreased to 64% after only 10 min. Do you think it has a problem?
One more question: when it says "up to 10 hours" autonomy, does it mean I can stream for 10 hours (Netflix for exemple) ? Or is it more the average autonomy for an average us (web + some video + reading...etc)?
How long can the battery last when streaming 100% of the time (such as Netflix) ? Same question for when watching movies that are on my ipad (no streaming) ?
    Thank you for your support.
    JM.

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
    http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night.
