Battery Level Doesn't Change

I just got a new iPod 3g Nano. The battery icon when I took it out of the box was about 6/7ths charged/green. I tried to fully charge it and it never increased to fully green. Plus, when I use it, it doesn't seem like it's losing any of the green color to indicate it's depleting. When I plug it in, it never shows it's charging, just says it's connected. Before it's connected, the battery icon is gray/white and has a lightning bolt in it, but then once it's connected, it stays at 6/7ths green. There has to be a problem when it won't fully charge or show it needs or is charging, no?

Try doing a Restore on the iPod.

  • Help! iPhone 5 restarting by itself! Battery level won't change after charging.

    HELP!
I have a 3 month old iPhone 5 that was recently updated to iOS 7. After a few days of use, I noticed after a night of charging, which I always do, the battery level indicator and percentage did not change. Next, in my carpool ride in to work, when using the iPhone, randomly the screen would freeze, then turn a random color and would shut off and restart.
Then all of a sudden it was fine, no issues.
Then today, the same thing is happening. The battery level, freezing/color changing on the screenscreen/restarting issues are back.
I don't know whats going on. Never had an issue with any of 3 past my iPhones.
    Thanks in advance,
    Josh

I'm sorry, it seems that the problem is that my phone WON'T restore. I just tried restoring again and it keeps giving me the 2001 error. Help.

  • Audio level doesn't change immediately

When I change audio level in the clip (I usually need mute/unmute, so I do 100-0% or back) iMovie doesn't respond that chage for a while. After some time it becames ok. What can be the problem here?

    Hi there
Assuming the audio clip is the longest object on the slide, you can fairly easily adjust the slide to match the audio clip exactly. But it will require a small and simple adjustment for each slide. Perhaps this will help?
To make the adjustment, just click the slide in the film strip so it has focus, then click on the time indicator field over in the General section of the properties panel. Type a 1 in the field and press Enter. The slide should auto-adjust to the audio clip timing.
What would be even better would be if we could just select all the slides in the film strip and do that once. But in my testing it fails.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Frequent rebooting and Battery percentage doesn't change

    Hi ,
I had recently changed my iphone 5 back housing (rear panel ) , since then my mobile keeps rebooting for 6-7 times and then works fine , also the battery percentage doesnt change at all ..similar problem is faced by most people who changes the back housing .. anyone got a fix on this issue ?? please help

The OP is likely referring to the battery in their keyboard or mouse, in that case the OP needs to look in the System Preference for each device to see the status of the battery.

  • My Battery status doesn't change on my MacBook Pro and then dies

Hi, I have a MacBook Pro that is maybe a year and a half old and is running Snow Leopard. Just recently (only yesterday) I realized that the batter status widget in the menu bar is lying to me. It always reads 3:35 (95%). And then it dies without a warning of low battery. It is extremely annoying and if not for the auto-recover function of Word, I would've had to rewrite an essay yesterday. Once I plug in the charger, the computer recharges. I think everything is working, it's just that the computer isn't notifying me about the battery status.
    Thanks in advance!

  • Wireless Keyboard Battery Level Not Changing?

    Hi,
I have got a new iMAC machine 21.5" , almost 6 weeks since. I am a regular user. The machine has Mountain Lion OS 10.8.2.
In System Preferences, I can see the Battery level for Blue tooth mouse dropping to 57%, but the keyboard has been showing 100% all the time.
Looks like this is a bug. How do i check the Keyboard Batter Level.
    Regards,
    Vinay

I bought an 21.5" iMac eight months ago and I did note that the battery level wasn't changing for my Wireless Keyboard as my Magic Trackpad slowly used its batteries up. That being said I changed the batteries in the Keyboard when the Magic Trackpad died assuming the Keyboard was soon to follow and now the battery level is reported accurately. In conclusion I believe that the Energizer Advance batteries that are shipped with the Wireless Keyboard, Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad had a lot more to do with the problem then the OS. I don't know why only the Keyboard was affected but I do know that now I am using regular Energizer batteries and all is normal as far as usage levels. Hope that helps.

  • The iPad's battery doesn't change from 70%

I buy a iPad 2 today and I connected it to the charger, and it is in charger a couple of hours and all the time it shows me that it have 70% and that not change! Help please..

Make sure the 30-pin connector is fully seated in the side of the iPad.
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
    http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • 10.5.2 doesn't fix UPS battery level display

I was hoping this bug in Leopard would be squashed in 10.5.2. Nope!
When I reboot, the battery level display in the Menu bar and Energy Saver Prefs Panel show an empty battery and 0% charge level even though my APC 1500 SmartUPS is fully (100%) charged. The only way to get the computer to recognize the charge level is to put the UPS through a test cycle which resets the USB connection to the computer and forces the computer to pick up the data properly.
This worked properly in Tiger without having to recycle the UPS.

I'm getting the same issue, sits there at 0%
This is a real pain because I have it set to auto shutdown when the batteries get to 20%. Any power blip causes an immediate shutdown.

  • Magic mouse battery level

My magic mouse battery level indicator doesn't seem to update. I view it under the BlueTooth menu, and can't seem to force it to reset.

It's definiately a somewhat expensive convenience. I think the battery door on the Magic Mouse isn't designed very well, and makes changing / swapping rechargeable batteries more difficult than it should be. I've replaced the Mobee battery pack once after over 2 years of daily usage & weekly recharging. I'm sure there are less expensive options, possible even as convenient, but I received this as a gift, and I like it with the exception of not knowing when it's in need of recharge in order to get through my next session without having to fall back to a usb mouse. For what it's worth, that's my experience.
    Thanks again for the suggestion!

  • [SOLVED] Udev rule to hibernate my laptop at certain battery level

I'm needing this kind of udev rule, to have my laptop automatically hibernate when battery level is about 3% (or 5, it doesn't matter).

It is indeed udev, displaying device info from its database in response to a query - that's what 'udevadm info' does. But you can't write a udev rule against that info - you need a uevent.
man udev wrote:The udev daemon, systemd-udevd.service(8), receives device uevents directly from the kernel whenever a device is added or removed from the system, or it changes its state. When udev receives a device event, it matches its configured set of rules against various device attributes to identify the device. Rules that match may provide additional device information to be stored in the udev database or to be used to create meaningful symlink names.
If you run cybertorture's 'udevadm monitor' command above, as your battery is running down, you will not see any uevents. If you connect or disconnect your AC adapter, you will see uevents - in fact, you're using those ones already, to trigger your powersave script. So although the general description I've quoted mentions kernel uevents generated when a device "changes its state", this does not cover all possible changes, and in this particular case, it does not cover changes in battery charge level.

  • LE 8 Master Level Doesn't Work

Hi. Can anyone tell me how to get my master level slider on the Transport Bar to work? Clicking the Dim button works, but moving the slider has no effect on the Master Level channel strip in the mixer and of course doesn't change the audio level. Neither does the right button which is supposed to set the level to 0db.

Now this is new! When I click the Dim button, the Dim icon highlights, the level drops and the slider jumps to about 3/4 of the way to the end of the range of the slider. Then I move the slider and nothing changes aurally or in the Master Output Channel Strip. When I click the Dim button again ( to deselect it), the button un-highlights, the slider jumps back to the same 3/4 spot. Subsequent slider wiggling has no effect. Also, I've noticed that pressing the 0 db switch on the right has no effect on the Master Output switch, or the level of the signal, but it does cause the Master Level slider to move to that 3/4 spot. What's new is that rather than dimming to the level that I've set in Audio Prefs, the signal is apparently dropping by some set amount subtracted from what the Master Output is set at, ie, when MO slider is low, Dim switch drops the signal to an inaudible level, rather than what I've set in Prefs. What's up with that, do you suppose?
Since I wrote the above, I went back and tried a blank template project file, and the slider works more like what you'd expect, except I was expecting the Master Output slider to actually move along with the Master Level slider in the Transport Bar, which it does not. In the blank template project, moving the slider causes a level change, the Dim and 0db switches work OK. So there is apparently something in the project I'm working on causing the disconnect. Any ideas?

  • 6500 slide False Battery Level Reading.

    Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has had their battery level showing as full when it is actually very low.
This started happening after I updated my phone to firmware v 8.30, but probably more relevant after discharging the battery fully (as recommended)to improve battery life.
    Thanks.

I have a 6500 classic and the battery started doing the weird levels.
Showed that the battery didn't need charging as said was full but when took it off the charger it said battery low.
Would not charge even after being on the charger all night.
Sometimes works in the car charger (needed one as battery doesn't even last 1 day at work since bought the phone) but after showing 3/4 full, get 1 call and then beeps at me to show about to go flat.
Phone is only 1 year old.
Ordered a new battery so will see how it goes when it comes in on Monday....

  • Battery level not shown correctly

Hi! After charging my iPhone5, display continues to show "low battery". If I switch off and on the phone, battery level is shown correctly and decreases correctly till low level; then it rests stuck again. Please help! Thanks!

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We're all users here.
First, try an SMC reset, as detailed here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3964
Since you mention both battery and performance slowdown, that might cure both issues.
PRAM doesn't often cause the problems you mention but a PRAM reset is detailed here, because people often do both:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379
And your battery may need calibrating, after the SMC reset:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1490
And if none of this helps, the battery is likely failing. Even though there is no Apple Store, there is probably an authorized Apple dealer or repair center near you. When I searched from the US, this link appeared: http://www.apple.com/ie/contact/
Another cause of decreased performance is that your hard drive might be getting full. Do you have less than 10% free space? If you recently upgraded to OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion and you're trying to run it in less than 4GB RAM, that may also be responsible for loss of performance. But neither of these issues should cause the battery problems you mentioned.
