Battery level jumps to 6% after 40 %

My T530 battery behaves weirdly:
When the % of batter gets less than 40% it jumps to 6% and says I need to plugin the charger. What can be an issue?
What should I do with this? Battery has only 57 cycles, so it's kind of still new, aslo lenovo battery app shows that health of battery is good.

Hi Anderhil,
Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
I’m sorry to hear that battery of your Lenovo ThinkPad suddenly drops from 40% to 6%.
Try doing a battery reset. It involves charging your battery to 100%, and then discharging it completely to 0%. Once that’s done you charge it back to 100% to complete the calibration.
Please note that battery reset is a time consuming process. So I would suggest you to do it overnight. Change the power plan settings to ensure that system doesn’t enter sleep or hibernate during the reset.
Refer this document to understand how to perform a battery gauge reset.
Hope this helps!
Best regards,
Mithun.

  • Help! iPhone 5 restarting by itself! Battery level won't change after charging.

    HELP!
I have a 3 month old iPhone 5 that was recently updated to iOS 7. After a few days of use, I noticed after a night of charging, which I always do, the battery level indicator and percentage did not change. Next, in my carpool ride in to work, when using the iPhone, randomly the screen would freeze, then turn a random color and would shut off and restart.
Then all of a sudden it was fine, no issues.
Then today, the same thing is happening. The battery level, freezing/color changing on the screenscreen/restarting issues are back.
I don't know whats going on. Never had an issue with any of 3 past my iPhones.
    Thanks in advance,
    Josh

I'm sorry, it seems that the problem is that my phone WON'T restore. I just tried restoring again and it keeps giving me the 2001 error. Help.

  • Audio levels jump way high after burning to DVD

    Hello!
I don't mean to be spamming the forums, but in case this is an FCP-related problem, I thought I'd ask here too. I've also asked in the DVDSP forum.
I just burned my first test disc of a project and have come across a strange problem. The audio on all of my tracks has jumped to an extremely high (and unacceptable) level. It is well above the level set in FCP and even what plays when simulating the disc from within DVDSP. The ac3 files out of compressor seem to be fine. In fact, everything seems okay until the actual burn. When playing the disc in DVD Player, it's so loud that in many places there is actual audio distortion. Is there a setting I'm missing, maybe? Could there be something in FCP that I've done wrong?
    Any ideas?
    Cameron

Dolby dialogue normalization is intended to keep the relative levels of different program sources at a similar level.
We generally set our system playback level based on the voices (dialogue) we hear (music discs are an exception) in a progam.
For example: If correct dialogue normalization is applied in a TV program and commercials, when the program/movie goes to a commercial break, the compressed and loud voice of the commercial is lowered to the same level as the voices in the movie and we don't have to jump for the remote.
Determing the correct seting for your project is not simple however.
"The dialogue normalization parameter needs to be set to the LAeq level of your program material's dialogue. LAeq stands for the long-term A-weighted sound pressure level. Loosely, this is the average volume level of your source material's dialogue."
    more in this article:
    http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=56020
An extended examination of dialogue normalization can be found in this article:
    http://www.hometheaterhifi.com/volume72/feature-article-dialog-normalization-6-2000.html
Making a preset within Compressor 2 is explained in this Ken Stone article:
    http://www.kenstone.net/fcphomepage/compressor2_custompresets.html
What I do for Dolby 2.0 is always set my dialogue normalization to -31, which effectivly just turns it off, and set Compression to none in the Prepocessing tab.

  • 5800XM - Battery Level incorrect reading and phone...

After installing v40.0.005 firmware, I have noticed when the battery indicator shows 4 bars of charge, a phone lock-up occurs.
I can not use the white key to bring up the app menu, and phone functionality is limited.  The level of system lock up varies each time, but I always have to correct the problem by restarting the phone.
After powering down the phone, and powering back on again, the phone shows two (or sometimes one) charge bar.
I have tracked the issue, and the problem seems to happen during these conditions.  The phone is usually on standby at the time it malfunctions.
I have already done a Hard Reboot (Red, Green, Camera, Power), but this doesn't seem to solve the problem.
I don't know if there is some relation to the two events, but any assistance in troubleshooting this issue would be appreciated.
    Nokia N8

Thanks for the replies but as I said in my initial post, I had the problem even after buying a travel adapter (I went to Poundland instead of Maplin ) and using the supplied US plug - the battery level was still 0% after 40 minutes plugged in.
Things are OK now though - as I said above, I put the playbook into standby (by holding down the power button for a few seconds and then choosing the standby option from the menu that appeared) and then it started charging. Once it had got past the magic 20% it installed the software update and it seems to be behaving itself since then... There seem to be some other posts on this forum (although nothing turned up when I search google before) about the playbook getting into a confused state when the battery level is very low - especially with old versions of the OS software so I guess it might have been this same problem...

  • Is that normal? My iPod touch G5 standby after fully charge 2 hr 58 min. then level battery is 68.5%. (use voice over to read battery level)

Is that normal? My iPod touch G5 standby after fully charge 2 hr 58 min. then level battery is 68.5%. (use voice over to read battery level)

I do not understand what "My iPod touch G5 standby after fully charge 2 hr 58 min." means.
Also % battery is not accurate for an iPod. It fluctuates.

Hi, I have an iPhone 4s running iOS 7.0.4 and the phone keeps going of whenver battery level drops to 20% and it give the warning. It turns off immediately after I dismiss the warning message. I LOCKED THE PHONE AT 21% and I was able to play music to 4% which means there is no problem with the battery, this seems to be a programming error.
Earlier suggestion include that the battery has a dead cell but it wouldnt keep playing music for over 2 hours it it had a dead cell.

My issue with IOS 7.1 and higher is my Bluetooth for the phone still works...no problem but the music does not work with bluetooth...I have an Acura TSX 2010...Acura said there are no incidents reported, but me...I just upgraded to IPhone 6 and still no good....as soon as i hit the AUX button it say USB...not bluetooth...ugh

  • Purity Pro Battery-Level max 80 % after charging

    Hello everyone,
I believe that the battery of my phones are broken. On a full charge my Lumia 920 displays only a charge of 80%. First I thought it was normal and it would adjust after a few charging cycles. But after 10-15 cycles it's the same.
Is this normal? Is there a way to reset the entire device? Something like a hard reset? or should I drain the battery completely in order to reset the internal battery meter??
    Any help would be great.

I couldn't find a way to edit my post.
I'm talking about the battery of my purity pros. Everytime I charge them, my phone displays the battery level of the purities below 90% most of the time 80%.

  • Battery level on my MBA 11" jumps up and down

Battery level indicator jumps up and down constantly - between 1 hr and 3:15. I am lucky to get an hour and a quarter of battery life. What happened to the 7 hrs? My MBA is just under a year old. Running Lion. I have done an SMC reset. Any thoughts?

  • Capacity jumped to 5600 after 1.3 update

Umm, not sure this is possible, but my 9 month old MBP jumped to 5600 mAh right after the 1.3 Battery Update. I repaired permissions, rebooted, etc, and it remains. My capacity was 5445, and was steadily declining for months...so I guess a recalibration of the battery is in order...? In any case, I think I will live with the 5600 for a while...makes me happy
Any insight into this would be appreciated...Thanks! Richard

I've seen something similar on mine. I've recalibrated the battery, and now it seems I have about 1 hour more of battery autonomy.
At least, so it seams, according to the battery level indicator. But it turns out that my computer goes to sleep because of low battery when the indicator shows that I still have one hour left...
So, I have gained nothing out of this battery update. It's even worse than before...

  • 64gb touch battery meter jumping all around

i had just bought a 64bg touch and had noticed that the battery fill bar was jumping all over the place during my first drain. i would be at 65% and then down to 30%, up to 75% and then down to red status at 15%. it did that for a couple weeks until i brought it into apple.
anyway, i downloaded a bunch of battery apps (one of which i use on my iphone) and the exact percentage jumps around all the time and then during an off/on process will change and then during a hard reset will change (even though all i'm doing is turning it off and not using it).
so i took it into apple and they replaced it, but my new touch is doing the exact same thing. also i've done the battery calibration by draining it a couple times and restored the software.
neither my iphone, my wifes iphone, nor the other 4 models we've owned of previous generations have done anything like this. do all touches do this? just the 64gb ones? seems strange since i got it off amazon and the replacement came from an apple store in virgina.
anyone have any insight or information about this?

I am having the same problem with an iPhone 3Gs since I bought the **** thing back in June at its arrival in stores. It's been doing this since I've got it and has had every software upgrade possible. I did every type of reset and even restored it as a brand new phone downloading an entirely new firmware with no back up from apple and trying it that way. Apple says they did some kind of reset that resets the way the phone reads battery level, Sure enough, the minute I got home it was back to its old ways. It would be fully charged in less than 2 hours time from a dead battery. Yet would need to be charged 4 times through out the day with moderate use on the lowest brightness setting, no 3g internet, no wifi, no blue tooth, no push notifications, and was even put in airplane mode when I new I wasn't expecting a call.
I'm now on 3.1.3 which has supposedly fixed battery reporting issues (********) but in reality, all the update was put there for was to patch a hole made by the dev team.
for example, right now my phone reads 33%, at 5:06 PM, the phone was left in airplane mode all day because i've been at work where I have no service, and came off of a full charge at 9 o clock AM.
If i turn the phone off and on, The battery says 13%, i get a < 20% battery notice, dismiss it and the minute I press a button or unlock it jumps back to the 33%. If i keep doing this and the phone starts with less than 10% battery even though it will jump to 30% shortly after, the phone doesn't give me enough time to press a button before it shuts off and tells me to connect it to a charging source. The minute I do so, it takes about 10 minutes to come on, and the minute it does, boom back at 30%. It's like i'm missing a 30% gap in battery power.
I had the first iphone back in the day when it was first released and apple had nothing but the best customer service, bring it in, no questions asked you walked out with a new iphone, so of course I came back for seconds when the 3Gs came out, well let me tell you a lot has changed.

  • 10.5.8 won't show UPS battery level

I just installed an APC Smart UPS 1000 VA UPS to my Mac Pro server.  The USB cable is plugged in and the UPS battery is fully charged according to the display on the UPS itself.  The Energy Saver control panel is the APC preferred control method (they do not supply software for MAC OS X after 10.4) and all the controls appear as expected with the exception that the Battery Level indicator at the top of the Prefs panel shows 0% full.
I've unplugged and plugged it back in to no effect.  I restarted the server.  I turned off the power at the wall switch and the UPS ran the server with no dramas for about 10 minutes.  Nothing I tried had any effect.
There is nothing in the APC support site other than instructions for using Energy Saver panel.
Our power here has been pretty flaky this year and I want the server to gracefully shut down after about 10 minutes of an outage.  It won't work if the UPS won't talk to the copmputer.

Have you checked to see if another USB device works on the USB port the UPS is connected to?

  • Flex 2 14 Battery Level Dropped from 57 to 7 in seconds

I've been using my Flex 2 14 for around 3 months. However, recently I've encounter a situation whereby my battery level had dropped from 57% to 7% in split second when I'm not plugged in. I was wondering could it be an manufacturing defect and what should I do to fix this problem?
Note: I use this laptop while plugging into the charger most of the time. The battery level is usually kept at around 55~60 only with the help of energy manager. Also, I had performed battery gauge reset once.
    Any suggestions will be appreciated.

    SOLUTION FOUND !
I just found a solution to my battery issue that is apparently due to a bug on the latest update of Snow leopard (10.6.8). Parallels desktop that was in the Dock was making the Dock taking 100% of the CPU activity (checked in the activity monitor) using battery and heating my computer.
After I checked for such cases on teh web (see: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1181176 ), I removed Parallels Desktop and Windows Applications folder from the Dock and situation seems to be back to normal...

  • Battery level when out of box + real autonomy

    Hi!!
I just bought a New Ipad (3). When out of the box, the battery was only charged to 69%, is that normal? Right after I turned it on for the first time and set it up, the battery decreased to 64% after only 10 min. Do you think it has a problem?
One more question: when it says "up to 10 hours" autonomy, does it mean I can stream for 10 hours (Netflix for exemple) ? Or is it more the average autonomy for an average us (web + some video + reading...etc)?
How long can the battery last when streaming 100% of the time (such as Netflix) ? Same question for when watching movies that are on my ipad (no streaming) ?
    Thank you for your support.
    JM.

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
    http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night.
