Battery life good or bad, confused

is this good battery life or not? .... my friends tell me its bad
ive been using my phone for 2 hours and 24 min and its at 64%
with 4 hours and 7 min of standby
is this good or bad or is it normal usage?

Well that seems fine then because phone calls do drain the battery faster, along with streaming media off youtube. I think your friends are wrong

  • Battery life good or bad?

So my iphone 5s is about 5 months old and the battery seems to have weakened from when I first got it.
II'm averaging about 5 hours and 30 minutes per full charge using light video playback always on wifi and light internet browsing.

  • Is this battery life good?

I just got a MacBook for the first time and have been hearing so much about battery life. My battery info is as follows:
    Charge Information:
    Charge remaining (mAh): 2481
    Fully charged: No
    Charging: No
    Full charge capacity (mAh): 5198
    Health Information:
    Cycle count: 4
    Battery health: Good
    Battery Installed: Yes
    Amperage (mA): -1441
    Voltage (mV): 11265
This is my second day having this laptop; Is this good. Also what is cycle count and how long does the battery normally last?

It is OK to leave your battery hooked to the charger most of the time. The only time I unhook mine from the charger is when I calibrate. Have you calibrated your batteryyet. You should calibrate every two months or so to keep the battery fully functioning. If you use your MacBook infrequently, it’s best to re-calibrate the battery at least once a month.
The cycle count is how many times your battery has been discharged completely and charged. 4 times in a two days is a lot. You don't have to run the battery flat every time you use the battery. Just use it and then plug it in when you get through. Lithium Ion batteries prefer little charges over big ones. Apple states their batteries should hold 80% at 300 cycles. If you have 2 cycles a day you will reach that point in 150 days. I have 13 cycles and have had this battery about 4 months. If you have to use your battery every time till it goes flat you will have to replace it more often. Don't use the battery unless you have to and you will get longer use out of your battery.

  • TS5296 Battery life is really bad on MacBook Pro with Retina Display 15'' late 2013.

Using only Safari, iTunes and a couple of other apps - Dont worry, i'm not using Chrome, as it's a serious battery killer! - on 50% brightness and im getting around 3-4 hours of battery life which is very disappointing.
Any of you with the same Mac model having this issue ?
    Thank you.

    Thanks for your reply.
It is always there since it first appeared few a weeks ago.
But it becomes much more obvious when the fan gets speeding up or gets slowing down.
So I would say it is only gets worse when a CPU intensive application is running.
It is getting hotter. But it is resonable.
But the high pitch sound is really annoying.

  • HT4623 Since updating to 6.0.1 my iphone 5's battery life is really bad!

  • Have 2 month old Touch 4th Gen why is the battery life so bad?

    Hi everyone,
I have a 2 month old 4th gen Touch and find that the battery life is very bad. My 2nd gen Touch still works and I've had that since it was released (and I understand why the battery isn't so good on that anymore). Ever since I've had this I have to charge it at least once a day, thought I had heard that the battery life on the 4th gen was never good to begin with but this does seem very frustrating. I admit that I tend to use my Touchto play games and use the Internet. I always turn off Wi-FI when not on the Internet and I turn off  push notifications and watch out for the brightness as well. I have IOS 5.1 but was wondering what other people think about the battery. I know I'm still under warranty but do not want to just get another touch if this will happen to any touch I would get as a replacement. Any answers would be greatly appreciated.

How bad is "so bad?"  You need to determine the total amount of operating time from full charge to auto-shutdown (ignore any low level alerts that may appear).
I'm not claiming that you do not have a problem.  I am stating, however, that we don't yet know whether or not a battery problem exists.

  • MacBook Pro 2.0Ghz runs warm, battery life not bad?

    http://blogs.ittoolbox.com/security/investigator/archives/007864.asp
The MacBook Pro 2.0Ghz runs warmer, battery life not too bad!!!! You have to love that packaging...

With Windows XP machines the CPU has three basic speed modes (with many other power saving features)
Full speed , in this case 2GHZ
    low speed: 600MHZ or 800MHZ,
and 'dynamic' mode (throttles the cpu form around 100MHZ to 2GHZ on the fly according to demand).
So on a Windows machine you can set the cpu to run at 600MHZ constant which is good for heat issues ( and battery life)
Of course 'dynamic' mode also is good fo heat and the battery (nice to have options)
In practice these features work well and have been present in the mobile chips for quite a while now.

Hi @zenesa! Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums!
When did you perform the update?
The phone needs a few days for the OS to settle and sync your data, It's normal for the first few days to shed battery life faster than normal.

  • IPhone 5s battery life issues

    hi guys
I feel like there is a problem with my iphone 5s. the battery life is really bad compared to my last iphone 5. I used to be able to charge my phone at the end of the day and would till have 40% or 50% left. now with this new iphone, it reaches down to 10% or simply dies by the time I  get home at 6pm. I have turned off everything and i have searched google for all sorts of turn off tweaks so i could get the maximum battery life, but its still really awful. i listen to music for about 20 mins while on the underground train and later i might or might not get a text message or two and that is about it; the phone still yet loses all of its battery life while doing absolutely nothing. today i unplugged it from the charger and it suddenly went down to 99% right in front of my eyes.
i am going to the apple store on Tuesday to ask them if they could check it out. so my question is;  have i missed something here or is everyone's phones are as such but not even one person is talking about it or they just don't care or embarrassed to talk about it, or what ????
btw my last iphone and this one are both 64GB black.
    <Edited By Host>

I have had the 5s for a week now, and I am having the same issue. I have restored the phone three times now, twice through iCloud backup and once through iTunes. I have shut down all functions of the phone as suggested, which is stupid, that's the whole point of having the iPhone, and anytime I do anything with the phone, the battery drains 5 - 10%, and its quick things like, checking email, then quickly closing that app, sending a couple text messages, and listening to one voice mail and I am down to 50 %. Not sure if it is ios7 or a 5s issue, all I know is last week I had a iPhone 4 that I had everything turned on all the time, I checked email constantly, text frequently, made calls and used the Internet and easily went three days without concern. Now I'm scared to check the time for fear of draining battery on the new phone. I also had the  battery completely drain  twice now and then charged it to 100%, and that has not helped either.  I was much better off with my iphone 4 that I could at least use, and wish I had not traded it in at time of purchase. No point in having a phone that I have to disable all functionality and try not to use unless I know I am going to be near a outlet. So disappointed!!!!  First time I have ever been mad enough to make a comment on a forum!

  • If my battery life is getting lower  and lower, can I get my iPod replaced with a new one with the guaranty?

Bought my iPod 10months ago, now the battery life is really bad!!! I need to know if I can get it replaced with the guaranty! Thanks :)

I'd make an appointment at your local apple store, have them check it out and see what they say. If they determine that it's a manufacturer's defect then they may replace it.
In case they do, I'd do a full sync and backup before you take it in.

  • T500 battery life and extra battery

    Hi,
I recently ordered and started using a T500 with P8600 processor and 9-cell battery (the one sticking out in the back). After adding 2GB extra memory and an Intel x25-m g2 SSD, I started using it with Windows 7. I have been using it for a little more than a week now, and I've noticed that battery life seems quite bad. Granted, I've only run it on battery for a longer period once, and then I got about 3h 10 min running time on battery. This was with graphics switched to intel, optical drive turned off, wlan and 3g-card off, screen dimmed to half, power plan set to power source optimized.Usage was fairly light, editing code inside Visual Studio.
Would this be expected running time? It seems quite short to me, considering my old HP nc8430 with T7200 processor (34W TDP) and 7200rpm disk got nearly 5 hours when it was new..
Is there any kind of extended battery available?

Heoo hugohallqvist, welcome to the forums,
You should see this link here http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/T400-T500-and-newer-T-series/T400-amp-T500-Battery-size-what-sticks-out-...
Battery life wise, I can get around 1:30 minutes, pure gaming to about 4 hours. If you have battery issues, get the larger 9 cell and 3 cell one that fits into the Optical Drive Slot so you can get double battery life. It will be a lot heavier but except 6-8 hours.

  • Why is my battery life so poor

Switched over from PC this June. The 8-10 hour battery + 30 day stand-by sold me. However, My battery, fully charged has never offered >6 hours of time remaining, and the battery healthis already <93% in a matter of 3 months. I am thoroughly disappointed with my battery life

try these, and see if it improves your battery life.
turn keyboard lighting off or to 1 bar.
turn your screen brightness down to 50%
turn off bluetooth if you're not using it.
turn off infrared remote receiver if you're not using an apple remote.
    turn automatic brightness off.
do remember, if you have any apps running in the background, that will also affect the life of your battery.
also have a look at your activity monitor - under all processes - see what's using up 10% and above in your %CPU section. 10% and above will also use up your battery life.
    good luck

  • After installing iOS 6 battery life is awful on iPhone 4S

    Hello All,
I just want to share a problem I am having with my iphone 4s. After installing iOS 6.0.1 on it, the battery life is very bad, I could probably say unacceptable, after fully charging it, it would not last even 12 hours before the battery runs out and also i have noticed that the battery or back of the phone gets hot, I would say hotter than before I did the upgrade. I am just wondering if anyone could share some thoughts. I hope Apple comes out with a fix to this issue because I have noticed that a lot of people are having this problem.
    Thank you

Hmmm...Apple doesn't support downgrading. If true you must have jailbroken your phone rather than properly repair the problem.

  • I need help with IPHOne 4s IOS 7.0.4 battery life not improving

Alright, I Ned help with my iPhone 4S battler life, it is horrible, it will drain in about 12 hours. All I do is check my email, text a few people, and check a few apps. When I may school, it is a hundred percent, then I check it during school etc, when I go to bed it is about 20-30% battery life. Need help. Any suggestions? I tried a hard resets and restoring to a new iPhone etc, nothing worked.

I"m not at all sure what is the problem when you are describing your battery as holding its charge for 12 hours???
How long do you want your device to hold its battery charge???
Please see this article for tips on conserving battery charge. But PLEASE if you are looking for a device to hold its charge for LONGER than 12 hours I would suggest an android.
