Battery life is 20 minutes...Get a new one or can I fix something?

Hey Everyone -
My battery on my 15" MBP is absolutely terrible. What will happen is it will drain quickly (~1%/min) until it gets to around 65% battery life, and then the computer just shuts off altogether. It's unacceptable and its also confusing. Not too long ago, I would get the standard 2 1/2 hours without much of a problem, but then one day, poof, battery life is completely gone.
I've owned this computer for about 14 months - is this just a case of me needing a new battery/me overusing the battery, or is there any way to salvage this? I find it strange that this piece of hardware would just konk out so suddenly. Do you think Apple would replace it if I went to them? Any suggestions? Thanks everyone.

What does the System Profiler have to say about your battery? (>About this Mac>More Info>Hardware>Power>Battery Information). Check the Health Information. A battery should retain up to 80% of its original capacity at 300 cycles. If you have a lot of cycles or it says "Check Battery", the battery has likely gone south.
Are you under warranty? Do you have fewer than 300 cycles? If so, you may be able to make the case to Apple that your battery is defective, and they may replace it at no charge to you.
A battery is one of those gray areas where it has to be determined if the battery has failed prematurely due to some defect, or if it has just become worn out from normal usage.
A sudden failure could be an indication that one of the battery's cells has failed. If so, there is no way to fix it.
If you have access to an Apple Store, make an appointment at the genius bar to have it evaluated.

Try this
Restart iPhone: Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for phone to restart (no data will be lost).
Using the phone while charging doesn't create a problem.. I do it all the time

What kind of iPod are you getting to replace it? If it is an iPod Touch, and you are in the US, after you set up the Touch you can use the iCloud beta and download your previous music, books and app purchases directly to your Touch.

The warranty is against manufacturing defect. It is not insurance against accidents. Apple sells Apple Care + (note the +) which does cover accidents, but it does not cover iPods.
Out-of-warranty replacement is the most likely outcome.

I have a T61p, and after almost a year, I've noticed battery time is running shorter. I used to be able to keep the computer running for three hours on my settings, but now it runs for about 2h 20 minutes. When I do
grep -F capacity: /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/info
in gnu/linux, I get
design capacity: 84240 mWh
last full capacity: 75790 mWh
which means the battery is at 89.97 % health.
The battery is still in its warranty period. Is this decrease in capacity enough to get a new one?
I can't check battery health in windows, as I threw that OS out and can't get it back without ruining my GNU/Linux installation.

Batteries are consumable items, and the condition you have described is a result of normal wear and tear..... so, no.

If you've tried the basic troubleshooting steps (restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new), and you've tried charging from a wall socket and these all fail, then you have a hardware problem.
If your unit is still in warranty, you will be eligible for a replacement with a refurbished unit free of charge. If you are out of your warranty period, you will be eligible for an out of warranty exchange which will cost the equivalent of 200 US dollars.

Correct. When you did that, you voided all warranty/support, & forfeited the right to an out of warranty replacement.
There was nothing wrong with the screen I bought,
And, exactly, how do you know that? Since Apple DOES NOT sell iPhone parts, there is no official source for genuine parts. Thus, many on the market are counterfeit & produce nothing but problems.

On your Mac.......
Open Finder > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click on the Time Capsule icon, then click Edit in the smaller window that appears
Click on the Disks tab at the top of the window
Click Erase Disk
On the next window that appears, select the Quick Erase option, then click Erase
The operation will only take a few minutes.
Now you are ready to start new backups of both Macs. Back up one Mac first, then back up the other. Do not try to back up both Macs as the same time.

I havn't even had the ipod long enough, and I paid good money for it. I'm hoping to get a new one, because it wasn't my fault.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Something may have gone amiss on your iPhone.
To attempt to correct this follow these steps:
Backup your iPhone using iTunes or iCloud.
Use iTunes to completely restore your iPhone as Factory new.
Monitor battery usage to see if it is normal. If not, you may have a hardware problem - if so, contact Apple support.
Restore your iPhone from your backup above.
Check battery usage to confirm that it is still normal.

As long as they are already ticked in your iTunes then yes. Just to check do a sync and as long as everything stays the same you are good to go.
