Battery life is only few hours since 5 days
Hi,
One of my colleague and I have some problem with the battery life since 4 or 5 days. After 6 or 7 hours without call or extra activity, the battery is empty. We don't know why. We have something like 8 Bold 9700 in the company and only two have this behaviour since 4 or 5 days.
I have updated the system with the latest version, but no changes.

In addition to what Bill said, you may also consider the location where the phone was since you mentioned that the problem happened the same day for two phones. If those phone happen to exert more effort to get coverage to sustain themselves, they lose more battery life faster.

You may have stuff running that you don't know you hve running. Such as notifications default to on, so you may have a bunch of stuff going out and reaching for info that you don't realize is running. So you can look there, and also look at your mail. If it's set to fetch mails or to push. if it's on push, then y our iPad is reacing out to get the mail all the time.
So try turning stuff off. but if the battery is still not acting like you want it to, make an appointment at your local apple store and have them run diagnostics on it, just to make sure. they might also be able to give you some tips or find what's draining your power. -

I nearly have about 500 cycles with my macbook so i probably need a new battery. When I would buy one in an Apple store, can i buy one which also goes in the new macbook (pro) so I could also reach battery times of 5 hours+? Or do i need a specific battery for my 'older' macbook?
ThxHi ricaaaaar: Yes, at 500 cyscles there is a very strong possibility that the battery is done. Yes, you do need the "older" style battery. The new style will not fit in your computer.

my ipod touch 8gb, ios 4.3.2 has a short amount of battery life of around 2 hours, but i installed an app that tells you the battery life remaining, it said 4 hours, how come? is my ipod touch battery faulty
Some useful info would be:
What generation is it?
How old is it?
If it's older than the 3rd generation, then the battery may have run its course (or iOS 4.3 is taking a toll on the battery).
If not, then you might have some issues leaving the wi-fi on and fetching data as well as running apps in the background that abuse location services and notification. Make sure those are off, or only running when necessary. If you see a small arrow in the top right corner (that isn't the music "Play" arrow), then you are currently running a location based service that can drain battery.
Also check your brightness settings, these can really pull battery life. -
my iphone was powered off due to low battery charged it after few hours it took 30 min to show apple logo but i noticed that my phone was charging slow and draining fast, after this updated it to 8.1.2 same problem & rest to factory still same problem (plz help)

Mountain Lion 10.8.1 update the battery life get only 5:6 hrs after a full charge.
The battery life got only 5:6 hrs after installing the first update 10.8.1. Strangly the remaining time keep on changing up and down. It show remaining 2 hr, then for sometime show 3:00 hr!!! Don't know why. It looked like the battery life calculator mulfunction.
The remaining time reported is not an actual remaining time of use. It said 6 hr but in a normal use is much less than that. Say around 3:30 hr of real and normal use of my Macbook Pro.

After uploading our phones with the latest update, we have noticed that the battery life has deminished considerably. I now have to charge my phone overnight and two or three times a day. Prior to the update, my battery life lasted me at least a full day. We have several phones in our office and the ones that have updated (4) now have issue holding a charge/battery life. I really liked this phone and can not believe that you are now going to charge us $79 a battery to fix what is most definately a problem with your latest update. I know other people outside of our company that are having the same problem. Not to mention when I called AT&T it was confirmed to me that they are hearing the same issue and then some from other customers as well. Your own people, once I talked to them earlier today, told me they are showing a history of issues that are showing up after the update was put in place. Of course she tried to say, "Maybe the age of the battery and the update both contributed". Whatever.
I want you all to know how disappointed I am in your company for the handling of this issue. I always thought "Apple" was the line I didn't have to worry about having any types of issue. And that you all would stand behined your product 100%. Now I am not so sure.
I would love to hear back from your company on how you perceive the issue with all of these phones that prior to the update didn't have any issues and how after the update THEY ARE NOW having issues. I do not believe this was an issue due to the age of a battery and that was pretty lame to say so. It was fine and now its not.
Please feel free to contact me and help me figure out a way to pay for all of the batteries that will be needed for our company to contiue doing business as needed.

The 7 hour battery life is maximum that can be expected with minimal drain, but 3-4 hours either means you are using it very, very hard or the battery is bad. OR the gauge needs calibration, see below.
Turn off WiFi if you are not using it, and dim the display to also save battery power. It also depends on the applications that you are using.
One months is awfully fast for you to lose that much battery time. If the laptop was new, then I would talk to the seller about an exchange, at least exchanging the battery.

I have no batter in my iphone 5 since upgrading to ios7. I have talked with verizon techinical support and completed all suggestions to maintain the battery. And by the way, these suggestions are annoying and limit phone use as well as require you to close out each application after use, also turning off wi-fi and blue tooth. I don't need this phone if I can't use the features for which it was purchased! Any ideas? Is there a fix coming soon for the battery? Can I return my iphone for my old droid?
Help!Hi! I don't what's happened for your phone but, you can have more battery life with turning of Wifi, decries brightness, turn off location service and etc. also you shold use less Free+Much Ads apps becuase they use more battery than paid apps normaly.

MBA 2014 giving battery life of 4-6 hours.

I recently purchased MBA 13 inch 2014 1.4ghz 128 gb. 4GB RAM
The battery life of this product is just around 4-6 hours with my usage. My usage is pretty normal the mail app, google chrome/safari, dropbox for 80-90% of the time. I have installed parallels on my machine with windows 8.1 and use it in aggregate for 35-40 minutes in a day and when not using parallels or windows i QUIT the application.
I called up Apple care centre and they advised me to download SMC 2.8 version but when i try to install it says it is already installed.
but when i check system report it says SMC version 2.13f9 only.
I am really frustrated cause of this battery problem I hope that there is a solution to this, as battery life was the only reason i opted to buy this.

RegardsI had the same problem for a week on my Q10. I was extremely frustrated as I couldn't get any advice from Blackberry and the best advice on this forum suggested a "security wipe". I reluctantly decided to go ahead and do that. I first tried to back the phone up. I had to update the BB Link software on my PC and then was able to do the backup. I started to download the software suggested here (which takes 5 hrs unless you pay for it) and then realised the phone seemed to be OK again. Since then it lasted 48hrs and today is only down to 88% after 9hrs.
My problem was mainly that Standby was using 50% of the battery & Androd Player 15%. Both are now under 2%.
Your phone may have a different problem so if you've downloaded the latest BB LInk and done a backup with no luck then all I can say is good luck! -
Ipad 2 battery life drain 10% by hour after 5.1

I posted about this same issue a few weeks ago hopping that apple will give an update about 5.1 IOS for Ipad 2 but becouse I need my Ipad for dental school almost everyday i went and search a solution for my poor battery life. After upgrading to 5.1 my Ipad is almost useless with a battery life of 3 hours only with WIFI (this only happen hours after I update to 5.1) So i been searching on the web and I have found a few posts about this, but they are not confirm if this is an 100% solution, they say if i restored my Ipad from scratch using Itunes player my IOS will redownload and the battery will be ok ones again, so is this true, has anybody had this same problem before and had try this solution?, also if I restored my Ipad and I backup with Icloud my Ipad will be with the same apps and contents? I only care for "The skeleton system pro" app because I have a lot of notes in there.

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.

IPad battery life meter stuck at 100% since 5.1 install
My iPad 1 battery life meter has been stuck on 100% since the 5.1 update, even though I have used it for many hours and done a power cycle a few times. Update was done through iTunes.
I guess I spoke too soon...
Doing the reset took it from sticking on 100% to now being stuck on 98% for the last 4 hours. Is there a known problem with the 5.1 update and the battery percentage indicator? -

2. In the Energy Saver preference pane, uncheck the box marked
Enable Power Nap while on battery power
3. You can also try resetting the SMC.
4. Make sure your system is up to date in Software Update.
5. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service center. -
I just got my Mac Book Pro in March, and intially the battery life was amazing. Now the battery life is down to about an hour to a hour and half. This I know is not normal for a Mac. What is giong on?
I talked to Apple's Customer Service and they said that it is my fault that my iPod has broken and that it is also my fault I did not purchase the $70 extended warranty...BS. They also said that unless I have other Apple products I cannot receive a coupon or a gift card.
