Battery life of my iPhone5 is running out fast.

Sinds 10 days i ame the happy user of a iPhine5. But the battery life of my iPhone5 is running out fast. 5 times faster than my earlyer iPhone 4.
Wahat can i do abbout it

1. If you don't use LTE, turn it off (Settings app)
2. Let the battery run completely flat and recharge it fully; repeat that a few times
3. Close all running apps and restart the phone.
On the first day I had it, my iPhone got through the battery in about 7 hors. After doing the above, it still shows 34% and I haven't charged it for 2 full days

    How to Close Apps
Double Tap the Home Button... Then swipe the App (not the icon) Upwards... Tap the Home Button when finished.

  • For battery life is it better to run my newly acquired 2010 Macbook Pro on battery most of the time down fully then charge or plug it in most of the time?

Just wondering about my 2010 Macbook Pro 13'
For the best overall battery life is it better to run battery down each time then plug in til fully charged or just plug in and use most of the time?
    Thanks

    Hi C,
Run it about 30 minutes a day on batt, the rest on the power adapter. Every month or two, run the batt all the way down until it goes into forced sleep, wait five hours, then charge it all the way up.

  • Why does my battery run out fast?

My battery on my iPhone 4S is always running out fast. I have to charge it multiple times in a day. I delete the running apps, but it still doesnt work.

Maybe because you never put it down.
Maybe because you never allow it to go to sleep.
Maybe because it is constantly checking email.
Possibly because some app is running using location services.
Try a search of the forums for battery issues, you'll find many threads with steps that can be taken to mitigate battery usage.
Depending on what I'm doing... I can easily make it through a full day on a single charge or completely drain the battery in about 6 hrs.

  • Battery running out fast om 5.0.1, also no zoom in camera, how can I fix that? Anybody?

Since updating my phone to 5.0.1, it seems like the battery runs out FAST!  Just sitting....Also the zoom doesn't work on the camera. I tried "pinching the screen" but I think with the case on it, that doesn't work, tapping twice doesn't work either.  Don't like these changes!  Very annoying.  Phone was fine until they recommended updating....Folks, don't do it if you haven't ......not until they get the bugs out.  Any way to go back to the last operating system, without going crazy?   anybody?

Have you tried basic troubleshooting techniques?v I have IOS 5.1 with no problems

  • After ICS update problems typing when plugged in, and battery life shortened, also Dolphin browser runs slow.

I did the update and even did a factory reset, and I am having
problems typing when plugged in to the wall charger, I get random keystrokes,
from all over the keyboard, not just the keys around the one i want to press.
Dolphin browser is running supper slow, especially when on Facebook. The
battery life has lost at least an hour.

Phones will do that when plugged in, esp with cheap chargers.. it has to do with the voltage and coveting and the digitized screen. You can google if you want more indepth there
clear data out of dolphin, check for update? also read comments on the app maybe it sucks on ics
battery stats got erased when you did a factory reset, give it a few charge cycles

  • What is the Nano 6th gen battery life with nikeplus and itunes running together

Mine is about 4 hours, but I'm not sure if that's typical or if I have a defective battery.

  • I just bought my first iphone.  I am so disappointed in the battery life on the iphone5.  Have the phones always been this way?  Is there anything in the works to improve the battery life?

I just bought my first iphone.  I am so disappointed in the battery life of the iphone 5.  Is this the norm for iphones?  Are they working on a fix to this problem?  Almost wishing I had bought something else.

Without knowing what battery life you are seeing we can't determine if you have a problem. Have you compared your usage to the Technical Specifications?
Talk time: Up to 8 hours on 3G
Standby time: Up to 225 hours
Internet use: Up to 8 hours on 3G, up to 8 hours on LTE, up to 10 hours on Wi-Fi
Video playback: Up to 10 hours
Audio playback: Up to 40 hours
Under normal use, unless there's a problem with your phone, battery life is comparable to any other smart phone and better than some. If you've never owned a smart phone before you will be disappointed with the battery life on all smart phones. You should expect to charge any of them daily. It's a mistake to think of it as a phone at all; it's a very powerful pocket-sized computer that can also make phone calls.

  • I have a problem in battery life time with iphone5s

I have a problem in battery life time with iphone5s

Do you have background app refresh enabled under settings then general. Also check under Settings->General->Accessibility->check if reduce motion is turned on. Also if you are using Dynamic wallpapers the movement in the background will eat your battery life quite a bit.

  • Am I the only one having significant issues with battery life on the iphone5?

I purchased an iPhone5 at the end of June 2013. Ever since I downloaded iOS7 I have been having battery issues. This past Friday the issues got worse. On Monday night (1/6/14) my phone unexpectedly shut off 22 times according to an Apple rep. My phone was replaced yesterday and I'm still having significant issues. My battery drops somewhere between 2 and 5% if I simply unlock the phone. I went over every possible setting with an Apple rep tonight to make sure my settings are making my phone as efficient as possible. All apple reps are telling me is that I can replace the phone yet again or I can do ANOTHER factory reset. I refuse to deal with this company because it's been 3 days and 14 hours. Has anyone experienced this with their iPhone5 because if I have to call another apple rep I'm gonna flip out.

So now 12 days later and another replacement I'm still having issues and apple still isn't helping. My phone has started shutting off unexpectedly again today. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to go from here?

  • Re: HTC Rezound update has shortened battery life and causing device to run hot anyone having issues?

budone pointed me in the right direction but I think tidbits pushed him off with apps and clearing cache. Battery app definitely showed me what the issue was.
Battery monitor and phone built in monitor shows phone call usage above 25%. I don't use my phone for hours a day (320 minutes / 4 = 80 minutes talk time). So why is my phone polling Verizon towers so often? Issue also prevented phone from sleeping correctly. So, SIM/firmware conflict. The update pushed a radio setting in the phone to a CDMA + LTE/EvDO auto which was to correct the SIM/reboot issue.
Thread detailing boot loop issue and fix, forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php
My phone was already set to a correct radio setting prior to the update. When the update was pushed I had my phone in 3G/CMDA to maintain the battery. This update forced a setting and restarted phone and caused a SIM/firmware conflict. Now my phone will go into a boot loop when it drains below 20% and in CDMA(3G). 4G LTE it will run fine. Why? Still attempting to isolate that. I don't think I can unless I have developer access and root the phone. I will not be doing this knowing that there is a manufacturer/carrier defect on my device and they are on the chain for it's repair at the moment. Software, phones firmware agree that it is a CDMA + LTE/EvDO device but SIM has to be removed, phone booted without, TURN OFF, reseat SIM and power on to fix boot loop after charging for a while every day so far. Verizon why am I troubleshooting an issue that your techs should have figured out before pushing a manufacture update? I am paying for Verizon service because it's better than Sprint and AT&T but not cheaper in my area! Where is the Verizon rep with assistance?

Could be something with the new verizon location service that was introduced with the update.  So far, I haven't heard exactly what it does, but if it is polling the towers for your location, that could be the issue.  Personally, I haven't had any problems since the update, if it wasn't for the extra signal bar, I probably wouldn't even notice.  However, the battery over heating is a common problem with the Rezound and, from what I hear, Verizon is being pretty good about replacing batteries for anyone having an issue.

  • Is my battery life gone? R.I.P

I have used my ibook G4 for 1year and 3 month already, but now the battery suddenly showing some strange loss of its battery life, it takes only around 50 minutes for full charge, and after that only around 45 minute i can use before it drains out,
usually when the battery drains out, my ibook will go to sleep mode and it will maintain the sleep mode as long as i want it to be, but now what suprise me, when the battery drains out, it will suddenly turn off my computer instead going to sleep mode, it have happen twice now, so thats what makes me very worried, im so frustrated because i take care the battery so well but it suddenly become like this, not in a degrading fashion, its all in a sudden...since 2 days ago...
first question of all, is my battery life altered? or my battery already dying? what should i do? change to new battery? the new battery is so expensive...
2nd question, will my computer be damaged if it suddenly turn off like that without shutting it down properly?
hope somebody can help me on this

    Welcome to Discussions!
Yes, if your iBook is not going in to "sleep mode", and abruptly turning off, it can cause damage over time. You said that is "fully charged" after 50min. Try leaving it plugged in for a full 24 hours, and see if that extends battery life at all.
Question? Are you running any processer intensive applications when its on the battery? Anything such as an audio/video application, anything with mathmatiacal equations, playing games, using the CD ROM drive, ect... All of those factors can shorten battery life. When the iBook runs out of power, it should automatically go to sleep, and remain in sleep for a day or two before finally shutting off.
Try resetting the PMU (Power Management Unit) ((taken from the Apple Support website))
    1. If the computer is on, turn it off.
Reset the power manager by simultaneously pressing and then releasing Shift-Control-Option-Power on the keyboard. Do not press the fn (Function) key while using this combination of keystrokes.
    Wait 5 seconds.
Press the Power button to restart the iBook computer.
    Reset the PRAM:
    1. Shut down the computer.
    2. Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    3. Turn on the computer.
    4. Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
    5. Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    6. Release the keys.
    Reset the NVRAM:
    1. Turn on your iBook
    2. Before the grey screen, press command-option-O (letter)-F
((O is for "open", and F is for "firmware"))
    3. You will be at a grey screen displaying some information.
    4. At the Prompt, type "reset-nvram" press return.
    5. Type "reset-all" press return
    6. Type "mac-boot" press return
    I hope this helps!
    Best,

  • Why does my MacBook Pro sometimes restores its RAM when I open it, even though it did not run out of battery?

Sometimes when I open my MacBook Pro, it restores its RAM, as if it has run out of battery, even though it has not run out of battery and it has been charging. Why does this happen, and should it be happening?

It's similar to hybernation mode in Windows.
If you put your laptop to sleep, after X amount of hours it will move to the "deeper" sleep level (save memory to disk and shut down...), to save up battery.
Otherwise if you left your laptop asleep in the evening, you could wake up to a dead battery. Not a great surprise when you in hurry to leave the house with your laptop...
