Hi and Welcome to the Community!
I recommend that you attempt to boot into Safe Mode:
KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Mode
It may take you multiple attempts to get the ESC key sequence (press/release/hold) correct, so be patient. When successfully into Safe Mode, think carefully...what happened just before this behavior started? A new app? An update? A Theme? Something else? Think carefully as the smallest change could be causal...and attempt to undo whatever that was.
BTW -- that display does not mean the "network" is busy. Rather, it means the device is busy processing something or other (could be totally internal, could involve resources outside the device), and it's taking much more time than it should Safe Mode will prevent 3rd party apps from auto-loading, and help you determine if one of those might be your culprit (not which one, specifically, but at least to narrow down that it's one of your 3rd party apps).
Good luck and let us know!

  • IPhone 3G Severe battery loss stopped on its own today

My iPhone 3G had some serious battery loss starting very late Friday / early Saturday and continuing through the weekend (9/19-9/20). Running the latest iTunes and firmware updates, etc. Happened to notice my service randomly switching back and forth between 3G and Edge during the morning of 9/20. Battery completely dead this morning 9/21 after charging 8 hours yesterday.
Today the battery has shown 100% all day and into the night after charging for a couple hours this morning. Other iPhone users have reported the same experience to me here North of Seattle.
My very amateur guess is AT&T messing around with their network was at fault.
Thanks for the "great servicing" AT&T. Please Sir, may I have it again?

I don't get the concept of having to turn off a bevy of things ( http://www.apple.com/batteries/iphone.html ) to get the iPhone to work PROPERLY and how it should work. Turn off 3G, turn off this, don't check multiple emails, etc... They built this hardware to do all this, so why not put a battery in it that can handle it?
I have a Blackberry 8830 and I do not have to turn off anything to get it to last more than a day. In fact, it lasts about 6 days of normal use on a single charge. I have to have my iPhone on a charge the entire day just to get it through one day.

  • MBA 2013 battery loss overnight with Mavericks

    Hello,
I've been having some trouble since i updated from Mavericks. My battery loses over 20% in 6 hours of sleep mode.
I first had this before I updated OSX to Mavericks, but it turned out it was because of VMWare VMs left open. This issue is settled but I still have battery loss, so I figured it has to be Mavericks.
    Any hits?

Use it and don't abuse it. The battery will last as long as the battery will last. Some last longer than others.
    One tip.
Never let it run don't to below 20% if at all possible and never below 10% before you plug it in to recharge
    Second tip.
You do not have to disconnect it from the AC adapter just because the battery reaches 100% charge. The battery will not over charge.
    All the best to you.

  • Extreme battery loss after iOS 6.01 upgrade on iPhone4 - WHY??

No problem with iOS 6.0, but after installing 6.01 battery loss is ekstreme.
I did not change any settings,
Do not use push Mail settings or other battery heavy usage settings
And again - this was ok until 6.01
    HELP !!

    I may have solved this myself now;
deleted all my mail accounts (exchange, live, cloud)
turned the phone off -and on
created exchange mailaccount again, and synced
did the same with my live-account
And after 4 hours I still have 98% battery left.  WOW!!
Remark;  I did not - either before or after - used push mails
Hope others with the same problem can be helped by this too.
Thanks to all who read and tried to help :-)

  • WiFi Greyout and battery loss

I bought my iPod Touch about a month after they became available and haven't ever had an issue with it. Then about 3 days ago the battery went crazy and after being asleep for more than 8 hrs it would be completely dead. Thinking that maybe the Wifi was on or something I went into the menus and found that I couldn't access the Wifi settings because it was greyed out. After some web browsing and resetting my iPod I'm still at a loss as to what to do. I also lost my January software update when I reset it for some reason, which is adding to my frustration. My iPod isn't jailbroken and nothing was added to it between when it was working fine and when it screwed up. Any help would be good.

  • Battery Loss While Powered Off

I have a 3rd Gen iPad (64 GB, 3G) that I started using in August 2013 (It was brand new at the time, straight out of the box).
I didn't have many battery issues while iOS 6 was still out. I noticed after iOS 7 came out, that the battery drained quicker than it had before so I turned almost all of the fancy new features because longevity is my main goal.
After the iOS 7 update, I've noticed that when turning on the iPad after I turn it off (as in hold down the lock button and swipe the power icon, screen goes black) I lose battery life. One day, after leaving the iPad off for 12 hours, I went from 60% battery to about 30%. Another night, when I turned it off, it went from about 70% to 40%.
This doesn't quite make sense to me. I know that if I just lock it and put the display to sleep that it continues running in the background and that is the cause of the battery drain. By turning off the iPad, I am somehow using more battery than if I had just locked it.

i just called Apple- and this is what they said-
even though the screen in black, the light is off, the machine has stopped humming-
"macbooks take longer to shut down, so wait 5 seconds after screen is black and then shut the lid"
i am going to try this, but just to be sure, i wait a whole 5 minutes before closing the lid.
Apple person lead me through resetting (something- cant remember the name but is wasnt P- something it was like "resetting Controls" or something with a C)
    it was easy and fast
    1) shut down compu
    2) unplug all cables from compu
    3) take out the battery (turn machine over, turn circle/key thingy with coin)
    4) hold power button down for 5 seconds
    5) put battery back in
    6) turn compu back on
Apple person gave me her e mail to write if the problem should happen again.
i will experiment and let you know what happens

  • Macbook pro battery loss 2% of capacity after 1 week

I bought a brand new macbook pro 13" (entry level) 1 week ago. I was concerned about maximizing my battery life since I want to start fresh with this new computer. A few days ago I calibrated the battery just to make sure everything was set. I just learned how to check the battery health and charge cycles in the "About this Mac" menu, and my charge capacity is 5685 (down from the design capacity 5770), after only 5 charge cycles. Is this normal?

    Hi mdudley28,
To be expected. Over the first several weeks/months of ownership, especially with an initial calibration (or two... or three) the full charge capacity will fluctuate. I've seen it bounce around by as much as 400 mAh, what's important is that it bounces back. If it continually loses mAh but never recovers and dips to sub 80% of it's original capacity then that is cause for concern and something you'd want to take up with Apple.

  • Weird Battery Loss

Recently over the last month my Battery has been going from full to dead very very quickly, a 25 min phone call will take all 5 bars off my storm and I'm having problems with youtube a 4 minute disturbed or slipknot music video will completely drain my battery and cause my phone to reset. And its been going through a bar every 30 minutes when its idol, only apps that are running are the 4 you need to run the phone. Any suggestions?

It seems you have a device error in your system settings. I would recommend performing a hard reset to clear out all settings. The instructions to perform the reset are listed below:
    1. In the device options, click Security Options.
    2. Click General Settings.
    3. Press the Menu key.
    4. Click Wipe Handheld.
    5. To delete all third-party applications from your device, select the Include third-party applications check box.
    6. Click Continue.
    7. Type blackberry.
    1. In the device options, click Security Options.
    2. Click General Settings.
    3. Press the Menu key.
    4. Click Wipe Handheld.
    5. To delete all third-party applications from your device, select the Include third-party applications check box.
    6. Click Continue.
    7. Type blackberry.
Once you have done this it should resolve your issues. Hope this helps

  • Battery loss after connecting microsoft exchange server

I am using iphone 3gs. Suddenly I have started loosing my battery after the latest update on itunes. I loose the battery once I connect microsoft exchange server. If I delete the account then the battery stays normal.
Please Help if anyone have any information on this issue.

I dont think its a problem with your exchange account as it worked normally before I would try restoring your phone to see if it fixes if not and you are still under warranty take it into a apple store and have a genius look at it

  • Noticing significant battery loss after brand new battery installed.

Hello, Applecare just gave me a new battery, optical drive, and new screen because of my proction plan on my Feb 2011 MBP. Waited until new battery was fully charged before unplugging to cycle battery. Was I supposed to let it charge 24 hours or something? Is this because of the new operating stystem?

My first impression is that this could very well be normal. When you say "light use", how did you determine this? Is this from subjective self observance, or from an activity trace during the entire actual usage session(s)?
You indicate that upon booting at 100%, you show some 8:53 remaining. This is with the computer presuming that the conditions at the time, and the acuumulated data calculations would indicated that kind of time remaining. Mind you, it has VERY LITTLE data onto which to base this calculation at that point. Only that the system is running, with no application load whatsoever.
By the time the system indicates 85% left (really 80%, with Apple's new battery algorithm), the sytem bnow shows with the usage statistics now avaialble, that if you were to continue using the system under the average conditions for which it has been running, then 3:09 would be the estimated remaining run time.
Mind you, when you read the Activity Monitor trace, Chrome is not active in much of any way (because you are not now browsing). You really have no idea, from your screenshots, just how much Chrome is drawing down power, when it really active (during actual use).

  • IPod Battery loss

I ordered my iPod at the beginning of the Summer, around June/July sometime, brand new with my computer. I used my iPod quite a bit over the Summer, but since school started I have used it less. I will charge it completely, and by the next couple of days, without ever using it, it will be completely dead. I don't know why this is considering it is still very new. Is there anything I can do to make the battery last longer?

FYI - this is the Using iPhone > Syncing discussions area. Although the iPhone includes an iPod, if you don't have an iPhone this is probably not the best place here to post this question.
A fully charged lithium based battery will lose charge gradually while not being used, but a fully charged battery with an iPod that is not used should not be completely discharged within only a couple of days - not unless something was left on such as music playing.
The iPod includes a warranty. You can call AppleCare or make an appointment at an Apple store if there is one nearby.

  • Rapid Battery loss

HELP! After 1 hour of usage on my new macbook air, (1 week old ) the battery drops to 50%. What's wrong? Because there's a 5-hour battery built-in so im not so sure

I had this problem too. The solution is not to have all applications open at once. Look at the bottom of your screen and you will see tiny little faint lights in the reflections under the icons. If these are lit they show that the application in question is open, and using up your battery. If you're not using the application, quit it and only run the ones you need. That will make a big difference.
