Battery Model Number

Hello everyone. I am new to Macs, I recently purchased a iBook G3 Dual USB 500 MHZ. I need to replace the battery. Can someone tell me what the model number is for the original battery? I believe the battery in the iBook now is not the correct type.
Thank you in advance.

Hi, and welcome to Apple Discussions.
If the battery fits, it's the right model.
Any battery that fits into the battery bay is compatible with the iBook (although the color may differ from the color of the iBook's case).

  • T400 Bay Battery Model Number?

Does anyone know what model number for the bay battery fits the T400? I see Ultra Bay Advanced 2 and also a Ultra Bay Slim.
I've read posts that some fit and some don't.
Can someone who actually has one of the batteries in their T400 let me know which one fits?
    Thanks for any help.

  • What battery model number?

If my (now dead) battery for my Powerbook G4 is model A1148, would it work to buy a battery that is model A1078?

See this part no. list for exacting specs:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=86797
Also, the recall page for these batteries show the exact model no. you are looking for. BOTH the A1148 and A1078 are compatible and the "same" (I believe the A1148 was first, and then the A1078 was the replacement part):

Or vice versa, on the model numbers. Better to buy one that is the "second generation" line.

  • Can't find model number

So I have a satellite and it won't turn on and I think the power port is broken so it won't turn on and the sticker on the bottom had worn off so I can't find the model number and can't turn it on to get it from the bios. I only have the battery model number. Trying to find the power port to order it but can't. Any help would be great. Thank you.
    Battery#pa3817u-1brs

    Satellite L500 (PSLU6U-00W008)
Some like that are special order or made for a big-box store chain. Compare it with this spec.
    Satellite L500-ST2544 (PSLU6U-00M008)
Because they are in the same part-number family (PSLU6U, the downloads here should work just fine.

  • Where to find Model Number on Dell Venue Pro 11

I am trying to figure out if my tablet will support dual monitors but I need to find the model number (box was thrown away long time ago). Where can I find the model number?

Do you mean the model number or the serial number? Both are available in the "More Info" link within "About This Mac" (on the first tab, "Hardware"). You can also find the serial number under your battery.

  • Universal Dock Model Number

I have just purchased an Apple Universal Dock (with remote), to be used to connect my Nano (and soon iPhone 3G) to a pair of Audioengine A5 active speakers.
The dock I've purchased has a model number MB125G/A.
Browsing the net, I've found the Universal Dock with model number MB125G/B.
Any body know the difference between the A and the B model?
I've tried phoning Apple tech. support but they couldn't answer the question.
I just want to make sure that I've not just purchased an out-of-date model.

It seems, percentage of the battery level is always not correct (may change suddenly ± ~30 %). I suppose, I already did this procedure that you mentioned a few times not specially and it was no change. It is strange that even changing the battery did not solve incorrect level indication. Notwithstanding this is not so important problem, I can live with this. Fast drain of the battery is the biggest problem, which is not acceptable at all.

I will try examining the connector carefully with powerful magnifier.

  • Battery serial number records

    Hi
I suspect that when my computer battery has been swopped with a faulty one whilst in a shop that was going to sell it for me. When I took it there it worked perfectly. When I got the computer back now the battery won't charge.
I'd like to try and trace what the battery serial number for my computer is. The original one that came with my computer. Does anyone know of a way to trace this?
The About this Mac function brings up a different battery serial number to the one that is on the sticker of the battery. Is this possible?
Any help would be very much appreciated.

ntel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
    Last Modified: December 09, 2009
    Article: HT3964
    Summary
The System Management Controller (SMC) is responsible for many low-level functions on Intel-based Macs. These functions include:
Responding to presses of the power button
Responding to display lid opening and closing on portable Macs
    Battery management
    Thermal management
    The SMS (Sudden Motion Sensor)
    Ambient light sensing
    Keyboard backlighting
    Status Indicator Light (SIL) management
    Battery status indicator lights
Selecting an external (instead of internal) video source for some iMac displays
It is possible that the SMC could encounter a problem that may cause unusual system behavior typically related to the symptoms described below. In some cases, resetting the SMC may be the only correct method to resolve the issue, however, an SMC reset should only be attempted after all other standard troubleshooting has been performed.
    Products Affected
    Portable Computers, Desktop Computers
    Before Resetting the SMC
Try each of the following steps in this order before you reset the SMC. Test the issue after completing each troubleshooting step to determine if the issue still occurs.
Press Command + Option + Escape to force quit any application that is not responding.
Put your Mac to sleep by choosing the Apple () menu from the upper-left menu bar and then choosing Sleep. Wake the computer after it has gone to sleep.
Restart your Mac by by choosing the Apple () menu from the upper-left menu bar and then choosing Restart.
Shut down your Mac by by choosing the Apple () menu from the upper-left menu bar and then choosing Shut Down.
If your Mac appears to be running normally but isn't responding, force the computer to shut down by pressing and holding the power button for 10 seconds. Note: You will lose any unsaved work in any open applications.
For Mac portables experiencing issues related to the MagSafe power adapter and/or battery, try:
Unplug the MagSafe power adapter from the Mac and the wall power socket for several seconds.
Shutdown the Mac. Physically remove and re-insert the battery (if it's removable) and startup the Mac.
If the issue is still not resolved after following the troubleshooting items above, an SMC reset may be necessary.
After performing normal troubleshooting, these symptoms may indicate that an SMC reset may be necessary:
    Fans
The computer's fans speed up quickly and remain at high speed.
The computer's fans run at high speed although the computer is not experiencing heavy usage and is properly ventilated.
    Lights
The keyboard backlight appears to behave incorrectly (on Mac computers that have this feature).
The Status Indicator Light (SIL) appears to behave incorrectly (on Mac computers that have an SIL).
Battery indicator lights, if present, appear to behave incorrectly (on portables that use non-removable batteries).
The display backlight doesn't respond correctly to ambient light changes on Mac computers that have this feature.
    Power
The computer doesn't respond to the power button when pressed.
A portable Mac doesn't appear to respond properly when you close or open the lid.
The computer sleeps or shuts down unexpectedly.
The battery does not appear to be charging properly.
The MagSafe power adaptor LED doesn't appear to indicate the correct activity.
    System Performance
The computer is running unusually slowly although it is not experiencing abnormally high CPU utilization.
    Video
A computer that supports target display mode does not switch into or out of target display mode as expected.
A computer that supports target display mode switches into or out of target display mode at unexpected times.
