thanks . but are you sure it will not damage the battery if it is over charge time !!!!!!!!! because the battery of my ipod touch last only a few hours (2-3 hours maxx) because I was charging it all the night everyday and using it while charging and I don't know where I read something that is talking about time of charge for the ipod 4 : it's written 2 hours partial and fast charge and 4 hours slow and full charge.
So i am doing the same for my iphone 4 and I think it's better to do the same for the ipad
NB.!!! sorry about my english.
and if you didn't understand don't waste your time understanding what's written
thanks again
You cannot overcharge it, so no, leaving it plugged in once fully charged will not harm it.  Nor will using it while plugged in.  I have chargers at home, in my office, in my car - I plug my iPhone and iPad in whenever it is convenient to do so, so they will be charged when I do need to take them somewhere.  I often will use the iPad plugged in at my desk, since it seems pointless to unplug it to use with the cord right there beside me.  I might as well wait to use the battery when I don't have the plug handy.
Over charge protection is built in.
Partial charges and discharges are fine.
Frequent charging is also fine.
Deep or full discharge cycles should generally be avoided, as they degrade the battery faster than partial cycles, but occosionally (every 3-6 months for example) running it down until the device auto-shuts off is worthwhile as it will then recalibrate the battery icon display to properly reflect the battery's charge state.

  • Familiar w/ the Battery Case IPad 2 Juice Cover?

Has anyone tried the Battery Case IPad 2 Juice Cover by Foward Industries?  I bought one & it does seem to double the battery life, but I'm wondering if it might "over charge" the IPad battery?  It says it has an on-off switch, but it always seems to be "on" until the charge is gone.

I didn't know batteries were circuitry protected.  People keep telling me I'll ruin my device by keeping it charged longer. But this device doesn't prevent the charge going down, it just prolongs the charge.  This is the company's website.  http://www.forwardindustries.com/mg/index.php/juice-cover-battery-case-for-ipad- 2.html.
Does it seem like a harmless product?

  • External battery for iPad 2?

I want to use my iPad 2 (purchased in Australia) on a 24 hour international flight.  Is there some kind of external battery I can buy so I can use the iPad 2 for longer than the standard 10 hours?

Google or Bing is your best friend.  However, I'll do it for you this time...

Also, more and more airlines are putting power ports in coach seat locations.  I think they all have them in F/C or business class.  You can buy a power port adaptor from Apple or other locations that will power your iPad from either an airline seat or a car with a power port.

  • I exchanged my battery-challenged Ipad 1 for a refurbished model, and it won't move from the first page. . .what gives?

I exchanged my battery-challenged Ipad 1 for a refurbished model, and the new model won't move from the first page, which shows the battery charger pointing toward an Itunes logo.  It has a full battery charge. . .what gives?

It's been so long since I activated an iPad original model, and I am assuming that it needs to be activated. If that's not the problem, then you need to restore the iOS software.
Eject the iPad, turn the iPad off, quit iTunes, restart you computer - then restart the iPad and connect it to your computer and see if iTunes launches on it's own. If it doesn't, then launch it yourself. If iTunes does not guide you through the activation process, I assume that you have to restore the software.
Click on the iPad name on the left sidebar of iTunes. If you don't see the sidebar, go to View>Show Sidebar from the menu at the top. Then you should see the iPad under the devices heading. After you click on the iPad name, click on the Summary Tab at the top of the iTunes window on the right. Then Click on Restore.
I'm hoping that starting the process over again activates the iPad rather than having to restore the device, but see what happens.

  • When charging and using, ipad 2 is 100% battery, does ipad use the power from the power adapter or from the battery?

I have a quention, when i am charging and using my ipad 2 at the same time, if the battery of ipad is fully 100%, does ipad use the power to work from the power adapter only or from the battery only or both? Thanks!

YOu don't have to have your receipt. Apple should have a record of how long you've had the device. If you bought it in april 2012, then your 1 year warranty against manufacturer's defects is almost up. You should find your local apple store, make an appointment and take it in.

  • Brain battery on IPad affter update ios 8.1.2

    Hi,
I am using IPad 4, wifi, 16G. After i update ios to ios 8.1.2, it drains my battery. I use ~ 5 minutes, it has been worst with this drain faster by ~10%.
    Help me
    Thanks

Look into the notifications. There are often a lot defaulted to on that you may not need. And don't just look in the notification center, also look in the apps themselves - settings, general, scroll down and explore each app's privacy and notification setting.
Also look to background app refresh and background app update.
You may eventually need to restore your device - which is basically backing it up and using iTunes to restore the software - aka install it fresh, especially if you did your update over the air. Sometimes a fresh install helps - and if you back it up you'll lose nothing but time the data can be put back onto the device from the backup.

  • How to save battery life (ipad mini)

When I'm away from home and I don't have my charger. What are some ways that will save my battery life? I know the basics like screen brightness and double tapping the home button to delete history. Are there more ways I can save lots of battery life?

See some of the links below.
Could be the charger, cable or iPad. Plug the USB cable into your computer. It may say "Not Charging", however, it is charging slowly and will verify that the cable is good.
Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
    http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • Battery, charge ipad battery

    Buena tarde.
He notado que últimamente cuando pongo a cargar el Ipad al llegar al 64% de la carga inmediatamente marca 100% y al desconectarla me marca el porcentaje que realmente lleva. Esto es normal o es una falla y como se puede corregir.
    Gracias

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
The iPad comes fully charged out of the box. There have been a number of threads on here about charging, charging cycles, what that all means. You can search for them in the Search Discussions, more options in the upper right corner.
The bottom-line, going through a full charging the Lithium Ion battery monthly, that is run it down until it shuts down (about 1% charge) and fully recharge is more for calibrating the charge indicator. Lithium Ion batteries do not have a "memory" as old rechargables did. So you can feel comfortable in recharging at any time, as Meg does nightly. Lithium Ion batteries have a life that is debatable, some say 300-500 full charge cycles, some say 1,000. That equates to at least two or more years of normal use.
So, use your iPad, charge when you feel like it, occasionally give it a full charge cycle, but DO NOT run it down to shut off and then force it to come back up and continue. That will damage the battery's internal circuitry.
    Hope this helps.

  • IBook App Draining Battery on iPad

Has anyone had the problem of their battery going low fast, when reading books on the iPad with this app or any e-reader app. It seems that my goes down at least 5-10% within the hour of reading. My iPad is the 64GB w/3G and I all ways make sure that the Wi-Fi and 3G are off when reading and the funny thing is that then battery life hardly changes when I'm watching a 2 hour movie!

I have this same issue - I was reading in iBooks on my lunch break and then left the app running in the background. I had my phone in my pocket and could feel it was heating up much more than usual and when I checked it around four p.m. (it was fully charged that same morning), the battery was down to 6% (Edit: usually around that time my battery would be down to about 60-70%). No other apps were running and as soon as I shut down the app the battery was going at a regular pace again and starting to cool down.
It's understandable that when open it would use up the battery, what with having the screen on all the time and turning the pages, but I find it odd that it's such a power guzzler even when in the background. Now I'll know to turn it off when I'm done reading, but it's still definitely something that's not working optimally.

  • Battery life iPad

On my iPad has a great way to save the battery life but in sort of ways when I'm using a game or a app it goes at least 10 more percent down like in an hour it's 80 instead of 90 or 100
All I know is that I charge it everyday
People what is concerned with or how can I save my battery life?

    Save battery life
    1. Lower brightness
    2. Turn off WiFi when not using
    3. Turn off 3G when not using
    4. Turn off Bluetooth when not using
    5. Minimize use of Location Service
    6. Turn off push notification
    7. Fetch new data less frequently
    8. Turn off push mail
    9. Auto-check fewer mail account

  • Upgarde to 8.1.3, battery died, Ipad 2 dead now

I upgraded to 8.1.3 either on the 5th or 6th of February. As soon as the upgrade was complete and the tablet restarted battery had drained from 70% to 12%. Plugged it in to charge but battery wouldn't charge. By morning, batter had drained to about 5% and then by evening battery died and wouldn't charge. Now I have a dead Ipad. Tried to get it repaired, said it would cost Rs. 17,500 (~USD 300).
Tried using two different cables, chargers, no change.

    Good day kjogani,
Based on the fact that you are still unable to get your iPad to charge, it appears your iPad needs to be serviced. • Faulty Battery for iPad 2 (1 Yr 8 months old) !!!

I had bought my iPad 2 on January 2012 (3G & Wifi). It was working all fine and we have used it quite less. Suddenly from last 1 week, the battery have stopped charging. When I connect the USB charger to an AC source - the battery keeps showing 88% however the moment I remove the charger, the iPad gets switched off.
I have tried charging the same though laptop also however - the same thing repeats.
I took the iPad to the service centre - they examined and told me that the battery has become non-functional and I need to replace my battery and the cost of the same would be INR 15,000 plus.
Imagine - for a device of INR 36,000, the battery did not even last long for 2 years !!! Even a Nokia Asha mobile which costs INR 3000 lasts longer than this. Is this the way Apple is chaeting customers by dumping us with products which does not even last long for 2 years. An dsee the repair cost... INR 15,000 !!!!
I am hoping Apple would do something for this case (Case ID - 505851224) and either replaces my iPad 2 with a new one or repairs the battery free of cost. Else the matter would be highlighted through social media as to how apple is cheating its clients. ,
    Regards
    Amit

You've tried a soft-reset of your iPad : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear ?
Have you tried a different authorised repairer to see if they charge less : https://locate.apple.com/in/en/ ?

  • Battery problems ipad 2

i have an iPad 2 . Since I downloaded iOS 8 my battery shuts down with a significant amount of life left. I plug it in and it turns back on with the charge amount back to where it was. Then after a little bit does it again. Very frustrating. The only way I can stop for a while is to reset but then after a couple weeks it does it again. Any ideas if battery need to be changed. I Take real good care of it so I'm confused

See the following for battery charging tips for iOS devices...something there may help:
    https://www.apple.com/batteries/maximizing-performance/#ios
    Also:
    Try a different cable
    Try a different charger
Clean out the 30-pin dock connector with a clean brush...this connector is a lint magnet
iOS 8 is more finicky when it comes to charging devices. If your iPad 2 is an older iPad and depending on it's usage (you mention having the device for several years), you may in fact be in need of a new battery. If you have an Apple Store nearby, you may want to take the unit in for a free evaluation to determine the exact cause of your battery's performance issues. Make a Genius Bar reservation:
    https://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/
You'll will need your Apple ID to make the reservation.
