Battery only holds 10 mins?

Well yesterday i charged my Ipod all the way up and then left the house. 10 mins into using it (about 3 songs) it had a full battery in the top right of the screen but a no battery symbol came up and then it turned off. Then i can turn it back on and it will work for a little bit then it turns off with that dead battery symbol? What should i do? I called apple and they told me they can't talk to me on the phone unless i'm within the 90 days of purchase. I haven't even had the ipod for a year tho. Thanks for any help! -Chase

I had the same problem so i brought a new ipod battery of ebay for about £10 but now im not sure how to change the battery into the ipod!

  • Why does my 4GB mini only hold 210 songs? How can it hold more?Compression?

My 4 GB ipod mini is now only holding 215 songs and it is supposed to be able to hold around 1,000. I have my importing setting set to MP3, 128 bp which I think is supposed to be the best if I want to increase the number of songs....but its not working. Any way to change this? Should I compress using something else?
    Thank you for any info!

It's probably because you have the import settings and bitrate set wrong. Look in iTunes under edit/preferences/importing. What does it say in settings and import using? You need to compress your music using either mp3 or aac. If you see AIFF, WAV or Apple Lossless then those formats are going to take way more space than mp3 or aac, especially the first 2 which are raw uncompressed formats. Bear in mind that Apple quotes the number of songs you are able to store on any iPod by using aac at 128kbps for a 4 minute song.

See this article.

About import settings and hard disk space.
Do not use Apple lossless either. This will typically produce a file size much larger than mp3 or aac.
And don't let anyone tell you what to use. Try both mp3 and aac, and you decide what's best. After all, they're your ears!

  • WebI does not return failed when scheduling a report which only holds parti

WebI does not return failed when scheduling a report which only holds partial results.
We have scheduled reports which take some time to run. When they are scheduled they sometimes show successful even though the report only holds partial results. The only indication is when you open the report as webi report you see the warning that it holds partial results.
When running the report manually, it works file.
The issue is not in the no of rows in the universe settings because we this unselected. The issue is that it times out.
The reason that it times out is that a lot of resources are used for loading and processing data when the report is scheduled. When running it manually, it works because at this time the serverload is less. the time in the universe is set to 10 min.
The version we have is BOXIR2-SP4.
    Ok. Issue identified.
The question is - why is the report successful when it holds partial results? If this is normal behavior, noone can really trust the scheduled reports, especially when you save it to excel and send it by mail.
Is there a solution for this except increasing the allowed query time which would not solve the issu but only allow more reports to complete?

    Hi ,
Currently this problem exists in XI R2. This feature will be part of thenext Service Pack i.e XI R2 SP6.
This CER will be delivered from IDC Webi and BIP Platform as part of Jupiter Sp6.
    Problem Statement:
Scheduled WebI Reports which are partially refreshed are distributed to the destinations for Users to View and make decisions. These users arenu2019t usually aware that these reports have u201CPARTIAL RESULTSu201D
    Recomended Solution:
Allow the Schedule Creator / Modifier to set a parameter to stop the distribution of the u201CPARTIALLY REFRESHEDu201D WebI report.

  • [W520] Does not start on battery only, doesnt shut down or sleep

    Hi all,
I have quite a huge problem after flooding my W520 with tea. Obviously immediately after spilling it I flipped the machine, unplugged ac, took out the battery. Few days after laptop didnt start so I had it serviced. The keyboard was changed and whole interior was cleaned. At home I tried to power on the laptop (with battery only) but with no reaction, then plugged ac and computer started itself (I didnt press the power button). When it starts it is possible to unplug the ac, and it works on battery.
Second problem is that the machine doesnt want to powerr off or sleep. It shuts down for 2-3 second then automatically starts (both on ac and when already started with battery). To shut down I have to take out the battery and ac. (Tried all possible stuff, WOL, Always on mode and so on but nothing works) ;/
Called the service with explanation but nobody seemed to know how to fix it. If you have any ideas that could solve the problem please help...

    Hi,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
I’m sorry to hear that you spilled tea in your Lenovo ThinkPad W520 and you are facing multiple issues with the system.
I would suggest you to perform Flee Power – remove the battery and any other peripheral device connected to the computer. Hold the power button for 10-15 seconds and then connect the AC Adapter and battery and try to turn ON the computer.
I would suggest you to update BIOS to the latest version, try swapping with a good known AC adapter and battery.
Basically there's 3 power sources for the motherboard ac adapter, laptop battery and CMOS battery. If either of them goes bad or is malfunctioning you might experience strange behavior. If you have confirmed the functionality of the above said, it probably points to a system board failure.
    Regards,
    Mithun.

  • Apple tv will only hold wi- fi for a few minutes

New apple tv only holds wi fi for few minutes. All other devices have no problem.
What is happening with the apple tv device.

When the wifi drops, if you go to the network settings can the Apple TV see your or any network names?
I was having a problem on mine but when it went it was sudden and complete. If I went to the networks menu I could not see any of my 4 network IDs or any of the 13 networks in the neighborhood.
If I left it alone or sometimes if I rebooted I could temporarily get it back working. I tried all the standard stuff like changing the wifi channel, I even updated the router firmware.
I did a restore and even updated to 5.1 when it came out but the problem persisted.
After troubleshooting with Apple Care for a few days it was decided it had to be hardware related and I swapped it out for a new one (mine was only a month old).
The new one has been working flawlessly for a few days now.

  • Battery wont hold a charge

We have 2 iPod nanos one only holds a charge for about 45mins and the other we can not get to turn on at all any suggestions

I would like to get specific info on how to reset my PMU, I am in South America with a dead battery and not much money, i would like to try to reset first.
especially since my batter info is:
    Battery Installed: yes
    first low level warning: no
    full charge capacity: 4203
    remaining: 0
    Amperage: 0
    Voltage: 9175
    Cycle count: 54
I believe even though the battery has been dead for more than a year, that maybe i can milk some juice out of it, i tried following the instructions on the
    page:http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=14449
where it says to remove the keyboard, but upon trying and not wanting to brake anything, a closer look on the only photo provided of the DVI shows a speaker next to the power button, which means its probably a 15" , in other words not my exact machine,,,,
I am at a loss, i have also tried the control shift command power down thing............ no change in battery , always at 0 percent and lasts not one second without a wall plug.
    I am using OSX 10.4.7
Id really appreciate any advice. Thank You, Aymar

My ipod touch battery only lasts 1-2 hours, and even when the brightness is at the lowest, +/- 2 hours. This page says the battery life is 7 hours when listening to music and 4 hours when watching videos. Is this my fault or is my battery not doing good? I'm not listening to music or playing videos, i'm just browsing on the web, browsing in the app store and playing games (sound turned off). What can i do about this? Should I contact Apple? • 4 GB 3rd Gen Nano only holds 450 songs...whats up?

A friend of mine just bought a 4 GB iPod nano in June. He keeps on trying to put 1000 songs on it like its supposed to hold. He has an HP that runs Vista.
I've tried clearing it and restoring the songs back on it, reformatting the songs to a smaller bit rate, and upgrading the software, but it still only holds 450 songs. There are no videos, photos, contacts, etc. Only music. I'm at my wit's end. Any other suggestions?

the only thing i could tell you is to do a restore to your ipod, to clear everything off of it, and then convert all of your songs in your library to aac 128kbps. between 320kbps mp3 format and 128kbps aac format, there really isn't much of a difference. there is a slight difference, and i don't see wasting all that room for such a small improvement in sound quality. one other thing is to make sure you aren't syncing videos, pictures, podcasts, and album artwork. if you've done all of that and you are still having space issues on your ipod, i'd take this discussion beyond the forums and have apple look into it. good luck.

  • HT4310 I have the ipod shuffle. It only holds a charge for about 45 minutes.  Is this normal or do I need to change something with the settings?

I have the ipod shuffle.  It only holds a charge for about 45 minutes.  Is this normal?

It's not "normal," but lithium batteries wear out over time and eventually are not able to hold a charge, and that is "expected."
So, if the iPod shuffle is a few years old, and you used it a lot, the battery may be worn out.  If it's brand new (or less than one year from purchase date, you should have it checked under warranty.

  • 15" late 2011 model with HD display only holds charge for 3hrs...

15" late 2011 model with HD display only holds charge for 3hrs... i was expecting 6-7hrs... what do you suggest?

I would suggest you elaborate on what you were doing for those three hours. You can expect 6-7 hours if you want to sit and just watch your desktop. If you want to use your MBP then depending how intensive the processes you are using will determine how fast your battery gets depleted.

  • MacBook Pro Battery Not Holding a Charge

    Hi there,
I have a MacBook Pro, purchased Sept. 2007, and the battery seems to have lost the ability to hold a charge. Even after a full charge, the battery only lasts for about 10 minutes before the system reports that it's running on reserve power. I know that similar questions have already been answered, but I would appreciate any analysis of my specific battery information per below.
    Thanks!
    Machine details:
    MacBook Pro 15 Glossy, 2.2Ghz/2GB/120GB
    Part Number: MB074LL/A
    Purchased: September 24, 2007
    Battery Information:
    Model Information:
    Serial Number: Sony-ASMB012-370f-27a0
    Manufacturer: Sony
    Device name: ASMB012
    Pack Lot Code: 0003
    PCB Lot Code: 0000
    Firmware Version: 102a
    Hardware Revision: 0500
    Cell Revision: 0303
    Charge Information:
    Charge remaining (mAh): 433
    Fully charged: No
    Charging: Yes
    Full charge capacity (mAh): 571
    Health Information:
    Cycle count: 95
    Condition: Check battery
    Battery Installed: Yes
    Amperage (mA): 879
    Voltage (mV): 12549

Your battery does not look particularly healthy to me. I also have a MBP purchased in Sept. 2007, and it still holds a charge for hours.
By comparison, here is some of my battery information:
    Charge remaining (mAh) 6313
    Full charge capacity (mAh) 6586
    Cycle count 28
    Condition: good
After only 95 cycles, your battery health should be good. And your charge capacities look very low.
Since your Mac is less than a year old and your cycle count is well under 300, your battery should still be under warranty and you should qualify for a free replacement.
You might want to try resetting the SMC, although I don't think that will help. Also, here is a link to a battery replacement program which may not apply to your specific battery, but which does give a good description of the characteristics of a defective battery.
