Battery overheated and shut phone down

After teh new update My iphone shut down and overheated. what's next will this happen again with the new phone I am getting today?

Well, that is interesting. The phoine did overheat and refused to respond. Got my new one and it appears to be fine. I have not upgraded to the latest firmware. I plan to do that tonight and hope the overheating phone was simply a fluke....

probably your zoom is on. try double tapping with three fingers on your screen, it should go back to normal and then goto
settings>general>accesibility>zoom and disable it

I did a soft reset, and I went to the discussion and turned every down or off. This is definitely a hardware problem.

Perform a reset. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. If this doesn't help, connect the phone to the charger and leave it for about 30 minutes and see if it comes on. If not, while it is connected try the reset I described first.

HP Pavilion dv7-3165dx heats up and shut's down

My HP Pavilion dv7-3165dx heats up and shut's down/ locks up, It does seem Hot so I'm assuming it's due to heat, or heat related. The Vent's are not blocked and no dust.. This could happen within the first 5 minutes of powering up. I swapped out the hard drive just to be sure it wasn't the Hard drive. any suggestion's or idea's with this brief explanation...

Satellite L300 - Is overheating and shuts down

I've just got my laptop back after getting it fixed (new HDD & BIOS/FW update according to the sheet that came with it). But now another problem has developed with the laptop overheating & auto shutting down a lot as a result.
Is there any way to check that the fan is actually working inside as I think that it might not be?

Maybe you have to clean the notebook. What do you think about this?
I have Satellite L300 too and I clean it every 3 months. Im wondering how much dust comes out if I clean it using compressed air spray. This is very nice to clean the notebook because I dont have to disassemble the notebook and it takes only few minutes.
Compressed air spray you can buy from every computer shop so check this!!
Last but not least did you install the correct BIOS for your L300? Because on the Toshiba driver download page you can choose between different L300 models.

No low battery warning and shut down

My MacBook is no longer showing the "low battery" warning and even with the batery status showing charge suddenly shuts down. If I check manually pressing the button of the bettery flashes 2 or 3 lights.
I have calibrated the battery several times but i am having problems doing it again because after the shut down there is still charge in the battery.
I have OS X 10.5.8 and all the software updates done.

M4 AQUA Restarting itself and shutting itself down.

I just got the phone on July 6. Within 2 hours of starting it up at the store it had restarted itself. In 72 hours the phone had 58 System Incidents. Went back to the store had the hardware & sim card replaced. Now the new device is doing the samne thing, but worse! Since July 11 till now I have had 99 System Incidents!!! What is the problem?? I tried doing all the resets and PCC, unloading apps & their updates... Still resets every 20mins or less... Sometime it just completly shuts down! 2 Brand new out of the box devices faultly? Or is it a hardware issue.. I called sony support, they claim (as well as my service provider Virgin Mobile) that I am the first person in North America to be having these problems with their new phone!! The chances I got the only 2 defective ones in a row. I think the odds are to small... Can anyone enlighten my situation or offer suggestions?? I waited 4 years to get a new phone... Hi, When I got the m4 I had a new nano sim came with it.The sd card was the one that had been in use on my old phone - perhaps I should start off with a new sd card.On some occasions I have noticed that the phone was hot, but mostly I have not noticed, although many times I put the phone down and when I pick it up find that it is off.Since my last post I reinstalled my apps and set up the phones screens how I want them again. Initially I turned off stamina mode to see if that helped but I found it had turned off again after a few hours. I have now switched stamina mode back on.What seems strange to me is that sometimes upon resetting via the hole next to the sd card the record of the system incidents remains other times it starts again from zero.I do hope Sony comes up with a solution as it seems to be a quite widespread problem ( I have since posting read through the other threads) and I would be very happy with the phone if it were not for this issue. As it is, it is pretty well useless for recieving calls because unless you checked it every few minutes to ensure that it had not turned itself off you might miss an important call.I do hope it can be sorted.

Firefox 3.6.10 doesn't shut down. Keeps running using 100% of my CPU so I can't play a game. etc., unless I use TUT to find it and shut it down.

After I shut Firefox down, when I try to re-open it (in the same session) I get message "Firefox is already running but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process or restart the system." So I would restart the computer, and it was ok until I shut down again. Finally I used TUT to see what was running in my programs and found that Firefox WAS still running, even though no obvious pages were open on toolbar, etc. Now I use TUT to shut it down instead of restarting, but it's still a nuisance. Should I reinstall Firefox?

From the way you are describing it, it sounds like the HD has failed. Please look over Gray screen appears during startup for troubleshooting steps. You can also run Apple Hardware Test in Extended Mode, it may take 2-3 passes for any error codes to appear and each pass takes approximately 30-60 minutes. However either way you should plan on taking it into an Apple Store or AASP for service.

White Macbook (2008) overheating and shutting down

I have a white macbook from about 2008 (it is not unibody, it's the one you can remove the battery). My case has cracked all around and little pieces of the plastic have flaked away (as seen on all other 1 year+ macs of this generation). I figure this helps the heat escape rather than make the problem worse but I still plan to get the case fixed on with applecare.
My problem is that sometimes when running only iTunes and safari my CPU heats up to 90 degrees celcius (194 F) and my computer simply shuts off. I don't have the clear plastic covering vents and I just use my mac on my desk, not on a pillow or anything like that. When my computer heats up like that, the fan is rotating at about 6200+ RPM according to SMC fancontrol. Right now my computer is propped up using a large eraser to create a space for air to circulated along the bottom of the case.
What can I do to keep my Macbook from overheating? I don't want to damage my computer. I don't really do much video or real intense stuff, mainly just music.
Any help is appreciated.

Open Activity Monitor in the Utilities folder. Select All Processes from the Processes dropdown menu. Click twice on the CPU% column header to display in descending order. If you find a process using a large amount of CPU time (>=70,) then select the process and click on the Quit icon in the toolbar. Click on the Force Quit button to kill the process. See if that helps. Be sure to note the name of the runaway process so you can track down the cause of the problem.

The battery died and shut down, when I powered up all my data was gone.

When the battery died on my MacBook Pro it shut down. When I powered back up the machine went back to the original startup configuration. I could not access my data. I know it is there as I ran the disk utility and it shows the drive is almost full. Can anyone help me recover my data?
