Battery pack info please

I am now constantly running out of battery for my 3G iphone, i am a heavy user and looking to buy a battery pack. Can anybody give me info of any device they have purchased and how effective it has been in prolonging the battery life. I am looking at products like mophie and apple sell these now in store however they do a air version and a normal one but the difference is battery capacity 1200mAH compared to 1800 mAH (non Air) but much bulkier. Any body got some reviews for me ? any other makes to think about help will be very much appreciated.

I have had my incase power slider2 for almost 3 weeks now and I want to return it. not only does it make my iphone the size of a brick, but it won't work as a back up battery. In other words, I can be using the stupid phone, and the internal battery runs out and cuts me off, yet the power slider is fully charged with 5 dots on the back. I have noticed that it doesn't give you talk time. The phone must not be used in order for the internal battery to remain charged. That's useless to me. There's no problem while using the iphone as an ipod, but I still have to turn fetch and wifi off in order to take advantage of the battery being fully charged. Again, when I'm on the phone, it uses the internal battery until it's drained and NOT the life of the power slider. it's garbage to me.

  • Please help me? Anyone have a Belkin battery pack?

I have the Belkin battery pack and a 30GB ipod video. When do i stick the device into my ipod? Before the battery runs out? after? Also, where is the on/off button? I know this may sound like a stupid question but i need help.

Plug it in when you need th ebattery on the iPod.
No need to plug it in when you do not need it.
There is no on/off sswitch since it only works when plugged into the iPod.

  • Which battery packs are compatible to the one in Satellite A50-110?

    Dear all,
I have a Satellita SA50-110 and realise that I need to urgently replace the battery pack, and of course I would like to upgrade, if I already have to invest, from 4400mAh to maybe 6600 or even 8800mAh. However, when I browse the various online shops, I can not find any offers for my Laptop model SA50-110, which appears to be somewhat exotic for some reason unknown to me. Instead, I find lots of offers for other models, like for the SA50-100 or -105.
If I search for the battery specification (PA3356U-2BRS), I have similar problems finding a proper replacement.
Can somebody help me here? Can I buy e.g. the battery pack for a 100, will that fit to the 110? The thumbnails I found look quite promising, but of course I can't rely on that impression.
Can I find somewhere out there a listing on which battery packs are compatible to PA3356U-2BRS?
Many thanks in advance to anyone who can point me to an appropriate link.
    Cheers,
    fipps123

    Hello
You don't have exotic notebook but the model description is not SA50 but Satellite A50. To find info about compatible options is very easy and you can get it in one minute only.
Please visit http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > Peripherals & Services > Options & Accessories > Options and Accessories Home Page. There you can select your notebook model Satellite A50-110 and see all power options with full list of all compatible batteries.
    Good luck!

  • T60 No power up with Battery pack

Hi, Im repairing a T60 1951-83S, that not power up with any battery pack, I connect the AC adapter and the Laptop Turn on, I remove Memory, Daugther card, Wireless card, CD/DVD, and the problem persist.
When the thinkpad Turn on with the AC adapter and then I disconnect the AC adapter, when I turn off the Laptop, this don turn off it just restart always, so, when a hold the ON button then turn off.
Please I need Help!, what others test I have to do???  Thank you.

    Gary,
Thanks for the reply. I verified the voltage of the new battery as good (3.6v).
Still no start up once it was inserted. Then I remembered that when trouble shooting some Mac issues it is recommended to disconect from power and remove battery for 24 hrs. So Friday before I left work I did just this. This morning (Monday) I re inserted the battery, pushed the reset, and reconected to power. Low and behold the Mac started up normally. Of course I had to reset the date and time. I'm too afraid to shutdown and restart yet (got a great steaming mass of work to do), but I'll have to gird my loins for this latter in the day and let you know.
    Thanks Again,

  • Compact Battery Pack CP-E4 to Speedlite 600EX-RT will not power on.

I attached the Compact Battery Pack CP-E4 to my Speedlite 600EX-RT and it will not power on. The battries are fully charged. The flash works with the battries installed in the flash unit. Is there some thing else that I am suppose to do?

    Hi Tazdog!
Thank you for posting about this.
When using the CP-E4 with the Speedlite 600EX-RT, it is still necessary to have batteries inside the battery compartment of the flash.  The flash needs internal power to function and allow you to control the flash.  With the CP-E4 connected, it will draw power from it and the internal batteries to recycle the flash.
Even though internal power is necessary, you can still set the flash to draw the recycling power from the CP-E4 only by changing Custom Function 12 to [1:External power only].

  • Battery Pack for NOMAD Jukebox Zen 2

Does anybody know where I can buy a battery pack? Info on battery: 3.6V Lithium Ion, Creative PN BA20203R60800. I tried all the sites I can find on the web and emailed a couple of distributors with no luck. Thanks in advance.

Yes, I tried Creative online a few times. I even emailed them and all I receive was a toll free phone number.

  • Battery Pack - in or out?

I am a new convert to Apple Powerbook. I heard some horror stories about the short battery lifespan.
I heard that frequent recharging of the battery when it is not low, actually drains out the battery faster and shortens its life. Is this true?
Should I remove my battery pack from my Powerbook when I am using the power adapter?? I am contacted to the power 80% of the time.
If yes, is there any risk of damage to the battery compartment, since it is exposed and what can I do to protect it?

    Not sure that's very helpful.
Just running it down a bit and charging up all the time is ok, as long as you run it down fully every couple of weeks or so. Apple advise that you should "keep the electrons moving" so run the battery a bit and then charge up every couple of days or so with a full discharge at least once a month and preferably once every two weeks.
When plugged in, the charger charges up to 100% and then stops charging until the battery drops below 95%. This is to stop the situation where it is continually charging between 99-100% which is bad for the battery.
No reason you can't run without the battery, but there is no reason you have to. If you store it, store it at 50% charge - but if you just run it down a bit every couple of days as suggested (I would say a varying amount between 10 and 60% usage) this will maximise the useful battery life. Bear in mind the useful life of lithium ion batteries is not that long even in the best case scenario - you can only do your best.
Lastly, make sure you calibrate your battery at least every two months and once every month ideally.
    You will find further info here;
    http://www.apple.com/batteries/notebooks.html
It is not recommended to run the battery down and charge right up each time you use the machine.
    I hope that helps.
    Best of luck.

  • Battery pack mystery

    Hi, Please help professionally
I am concerned about these product, are they safe or not
I have a 30 gb Ipod Video and I was thinking about getting some extra battery power for longer trips.
    I looked at these products:
    http://cgi.ebay.com/Rechargeable-Battery-Pack-for-iPod-Mini-Nano-iPod-Photo_W0QQ itemZ5835512645QQcategoryZ118261QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
    and these

However, isn't the official ipod Battery output 3.7 volts?
So if one were to put 4 Alkalines of 1.5 v each that would total 6 volts, I want to know is this is a problem for the ipod? Or do these product trans down the voltage a little to have an output of 3.7 volts...
I wonder about this and if other people have used them before
    Your feedback would be appreciated
    Thankyou

    Ruff,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
The add-on battery packs likely are safe.
Here is a comprehensive review article on one of them.
    Hope this helps.

  • Problems Locks up when battery pack installed OK when mains only

Intermittently locks when trying to boot up. Can only be corrected by removing the battery pack and running on mains supply only with the battery pack removed.Answers please

    Hi   Alex
This issue could be down to a malfunctioning Battery which is mis-reporting to the machine and causing the machine to lock-up or even shutdown .  You say that the machine operates correctly whilst being powered by the AC adaptor which indicates that there are no general machine problems .  All I can suggest at this stage is to maybe buy a replacement battery for your machine and see if this issue is rectified .

  • Ivyskin T4 Battery Pack

i got the Quattro T4 Battery pack from Ivyskn - an im having a problem then wonder if anyone else is having
ill charge the battery pack completely and then turn it off and connect to the case (or ill charge it with the case connected - it doesnt matter) - it stays off for awhile but within a day or less one red light will start flashing- at that point you can not turn the battery on or off - if you connect it to the usb and an a charger - it immediately shows all 5 lights as solid indicating its fully charged - then a day or less later it will go into the 1 red light flashing again an unable to be turned on or off
Ivyskin sent me a replacement battery because they said something as wrong with the usb cable or connection - the new battery had a new usb able - but its doing exactly the same thing as the original
Anyone else who has one of these noticing this - i emailed Ivysin several days ago but they have not responded yet - i dont know if its something Im doing wrong or a design problem with the battery
If you are having this problem i would both encourage you to respond to this posting and also contact Ivyskin - if enough people report the problem maybe they take it seriously and do something about it - I really like the T4 case but i cant rely on the phone with the battery pack attached
    Thanls

Well, this is what they emailed me today:
Please follow these steps to reset the battery and if you're still having an issue let us know and we'll arrange an exchange
    1. Connect the battery pack by itself to a USB port of your PC or Mac
    2. Press and hold the on/off switch and be sure the unit is turned off. You need to hold the switch for 3-4 seconds and be sure all the LED lights are turned off.
    3. Once the last LED lights starts to illuminated, you can release the button to reset the battery
    4. The battery now should indicate the amount of charge by its LED lights and it should begin to take a full charge.
Once the unit is reset and fully charged, you can connect it to your iPhone.
Please note that for optimum use, you need to be sure to turn the unit on only when you need an extra battery power, it can not act as a 2ndry battery to be on at all times.
    Unfortunately this means 2 things:
    1. the pack is advertized as being able to be drained 'first' before your onboard battery is drained (quote from website: "It sends a signal to iPhone to drain the case's power first before using the iPhone's battery. This advanced power distribution system, enables the iPhone to receive an additional 200% battery life." unquote). The final comment implies that's not the case. In fact, I'd already worked out that the battery pack actually charges the internal battery, so its really an +onboard charger+ rather than an +onboard battery+.
    2. if and when the problem occurs you need to use something else to reset your battery, which means that you need an available PC/laptop and/or USB cable that plugs into a wall socket to fix it.
Pretty **** poor. If I knew this was going to be the case I'd have looked for alternatives.

  • Will external battery packs damage the iphone internal battery?

I just received my the Xpal AP1200 that I purchased from Woot last week. My question is that since it's a case also can I leave it on the iPhone all the time?
Unlike the Mophie Juice Pack, this one does not have an on/off switch for engaging the external battery in the case.
If I leave it on all the time, use it as a case and simply charge the entire setup (battery pack and phone) at the same time am I going to damage or at least significantly shorten the internal iPhone battery?

The iPhone battery should be discharged every so often. See here for general info:
    http://www.apple.com/batteries/iphone.html
So I would say every so often you may want to discharge your iPhone through regular use and recharge it normally. I have the Mophie Pack and I don't use it all the time, only when I need it, despite it being a case and having the button. I prefer a "naked" iPhone....
