Battery problems iOS 6

Every since I upgraded my iPhone 4s to IOS 6, my battery runs down in 1/2 or less  of the time it used to.  Previously I would get through the day without recharging.  Now with IOS 6, I am running at 10 to 20 % by Noon and am out by 2 pm.  Any thoughts on what to do?  I have reset the the phone, rebooted several times, etc.
Another issue is that since IOS 6, I can't get my gmail.  It keeps telling me the server won't respond.  I have deleted the account and reinstalled it with no success.

Do you need anything help here?

  • Iphone 4 Battery problem ios 6.0.1

I bought an iphone 4 with ios 5.11 on ebay, there are few pixels do not working, the speaker is faulty and the power button is not working. Yesterday I updated to iOS 6.0.1, and now the battery is defective. The iphone boots again and again and when it comes again, then only at the socket. and the battery says 1 or 2% of the full battery symbol. I also restored it twice
there is a reason for an exchange at apple? (The warranty is expired)

There are loads of posts about this all over forums.  It's an ios6 issue.  If your battery was fine before ios6 then I doubt you need to replace it.

  • Reception / Battery problems with iPhone 3GS after upgrading to iOS 4.2.1

There are major reception and battery problems with iPhone 3GS after upgrading to iOS 4.2.1.
I can not believe that Apple did not test this for major bugs like this one is.
I am a business user and can not effort to have bad reception. Apple wants to gain in the business clients... I never had this with my former BlackBerrys!
I need a reliable phone not a play thing like this is right now, it just needs it to work propely. And if a major bug like this comes along, fix it immediately. After the iPhone4 story, now this...incredible! Going back to my reliable BlackBerry! It just ain't reliable and takes forever to fix a problem.

I have the same issue after iOS 4.2.1 update. I am using iPhone 3GS officially unlocked by Apple. I tried using different SIM cards and both carriers show same problem when using phone in 3G mode. Phone falls back to EDGE mode showing 'E' from '3G' at start. I have reset the phone and rebooted several times and moved to different cell areas in the city just to verify the problem.
I had no such issues earlier. I also have Nokia E71 which shows full signal and has no such issues.
I have posted the bug on apple iphone feedback page. I hope they Apple will fix the problem and test the release properly on all models before releasing to public.

  • IPod touch Battery Problems Since iOS 7 was installed last year.

Hello, I've had recurring battery problems with my iPod touch since the iOS 7 update was installed, and I find myself having to charge my iPod touch (5th Generation) a lot more frequently since I installed this update.
On iOS 6, I had never experienced any problems with the iPod touch's battery, as I was able to let the battery drain down completely, and let it charge for 4 hours (recommended). After the iPod touch was fully charged for 4 whole hours, I was able to unplug the lightning cable, and the iPod touch on its own would last a few days to at least a week or two weeks.
On iOS 7, since it saw its general release on the 18th September last year, I have found that the iPod's battery has drained so bad, that it dies too quickly, and when I put the iPod touch on charge, in almost an hour, the iPod touch tells me that it is 100% charged. However, when I take the iPod touch off its charge after it fully charges for that hour, it quickly drains down again.
I have gone through the standard procedure of restoring my iPod touch to its factory settings, and I have seen absolutely no improvement on the battery life whatsoever. I mainly back up whatever is on my iPod touch (I back up pictures, videos and also transfer updates that I have installed for certain apps onto iTunes), though I have seen how some people have backed up the data on their iPod's or iPhones, only they find their iDevice draining so quickly.
Even turning off certain features in the Settings app to improve the battery life doesn't help, as there is almost no difference that solves the problems I'm currently having with the iPod touch's battery.
I recently heard about the free iPhone battery replacement program which is now available, so I'm starting to worry whether I have to pay for a new replacement battery for my iPod touch.
Your help in this matter would be gratefully appreciated.
    Many kind regards,
    Alex Smithson

I mainly charge the iPod touch itself for four hours and it still doesn't make a difference. I've had my iPod touch for almost 2 years and since I installed iOS 7, it still doesn't make a difference.
I was wondering, if the article you have provided doesn't sort the problems with the battery out, is there another alternative??
Your help and advice is most appreciated.
    Many kind regards,

  • Sir since update of ios 8.1.2 i got serious battery problem on 3g 4.30 hrs my battery gets low and sometimes serious net probelms please give an update for this issue its not alone me my friends too getting many problem lcommonly battery problem

sir since update of ios 8.1.2 i got serious battery problem on 3g 4.30 hrs my battery gets low and sometimes serious net probelms please give an update for this issue its not alone me my friends too getting many problem commonly battery problem please can this be resolved
its not related to any hardware because last year april i got replacement new phone from apple and i maintained it well...!

Probably apps running in the background are causing this, sometimes Mail get's stuck connecting to the mail server, or some social media app like Facebook can also be a reason for prolonged background activity.
Try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose any data by resetting, but it can cure some glitches.
If this does not help, setting it up as new device would be the next step:
How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups
Also take a look at these tips to prolong the battery life again:

That could be the reason if you have a weak cellular data signal.

  • Battery problems with iPhone 4 after iOS 6.1

I've updated to iOS 6.1, and I've been experiencing some really annoying battery problems since I updated. I tried doing the good old iPhone reset, but it still wont charge up to 100%. It stops charging when it reaches 52-56 % battery.
Is there any way of fixing this???

same here..it doesnt work for me too!!
exactly same issue. Apple got something wrong with iOS 6

  • Are you having battery problems on iOS 6 (iPhone 4S)

Hello fellow Apple device users. Ever since I updated to iOS 6 my iPhone 4S's batery took a blow. The phone is barely a month old. On iOS 5.1.1 I had terrific battery life with battery usage being around 6hours and 30minutes average. Notifiactions, 3G, nice brightness (3 fourths of the bar). I had nearly 12 hours of standby as well. I take care of my battery (not always leaving the phone plugged up, I let the battery go down to 0% quite often (twice a week) and give it a full 100% charge. But now I only get like 4hours and 30 minutes of usage and 10 hours of standby.
Here are my current settings (same as on iOS 5.1.1)
    I turned off diagnostics.
Service location is activated for only apps that I need it for, Siri, Maps, Find my Phone
3G and iCloud activated (mail, reminders, find my phone, contacts)
Notifications activated for apps that I want (about 7 apps in the notification center)
Is anyone having these battery problems as well? I just lost 10% with 32 minutes of usage ( read my messages, twitter timeline) and only 40 minutes of standby.
    Any solutions?
    Thanks all
    Chiefzelda

  • Does the IOS 5 resolve the iPhone battery problem experienced in IOS 4.3X?

Does the IOS 5 resolve the iPhone battery problem experienced due to the IOS 4.3X updates, i am using an iPhone 4 and am facing major battery drains after the IOS 4.3.3 update. Anything indication on this yet available or any feedbacks on this from the test runs? Really hoping that this is corrected after y'days IOS 5 announcement!

    Not really.
Just installed the update last night and the update automatically turns ALL the apps "ON" by default so each user much check their phone's settings after each major update.
My iPhone 4's battery was running down quicker after the update. I turned off as many apps that were running in the background and checked the other settings.
I just found out that Bluetooth was turned "ON" by default, a feature I never used, so I turned it off. THIS was probably the real culprit.
The update is still too new to know if it fixed the battery life or not. Given Apple's history with battery life with the devices, don't count on it!

  • Why is my iphone 5 having network and battery problems after the ios 6.1.2?

why is my iphone 5 having network and battery problems after the ios 6.1.2?

I also forgot to mention that when it did have power, it wouldn't let me shut it off to try and conserve the battery life. Right when it powered down it would power right back up.

  • I think ios 5.0.1 has fixed my battery problem on ipad 1

Was glad to see this morning when I woke up ios 5.0.1 was out.
I downloaded it straight away through the ipad it self..
Once done I then charged up my ipad to full 100% ..
Now I started using it from around 9am this morning and its 4.10 pm now.. and I'm still at 89% battery...I think i can safely say the problem has been fixed
I don't know if this is normal or not..but to drop down from 100% to 99% it took around 33 mins... but I did notice from 99% to 93% it was dropping like 1% every 7-8 mins.. anyways i left it around midday at 90% 4 hours has passed now and its down to 89%... so im really pleased with the fix. I hope it stays this way lol.
Has IOS 5.0.1 fixed everyone's ipads battery problems??
Been reading up for the iphone 4s also and it seems 5.0.1 hasn't done anything for the battery charge... was really hoping to purchase a 4s soon ..but if they still have the battery problem I guess I'll have to wait a little longer.

In terms of the battery, if you are not already doing so you should go through at least one charge cycle per month i.e. charging to 100%, running it down so that powers off, and then charging back up to 100%, which should help keep the battery indicator accurate - it's recommended towards the bottom of this page http://www.apple.com/batteries/ipad.html
I hadn't noticed any problems with the battery on my first gen iPad, but I've updated anyway.

  • 4S battery problem - phone dies, can't charge or turn on??

Having some possible battery problems with my iPhone 4S.  I'm on Sprint, with the latest iOS and running on Windows 7.  It all has to do with when the battery dies, and has happened 3 times already...
    1. battery died, this happened:
plug in to PC via USB, low battery sign (with small sliver of red available).
almost immediately (about 2 seconds), apple logo startup screen appears.
about 20 seconds later, vibrates twice.
a second later it flashes the lock screen then goes to black with a spinny wheel for about 5 seconds.
then the apple logo startup screen shows again...and same thing repeats.
does not charge at all.  same problem when plugged in to wall charger.
somehow the next day I got it to show "connect to iTunes" screen, and restored the iPhone.
    2. battery died, same cycle happening.
    (about two-three weeks ago)
I left it alone for a week & set a Genius Bar appointment.
somehow, the day before the appointment, I was able to plug in the iPhone, charge it, and turn it on with no problems at all.
I took it in anyway to the Apple Store and they did a "firmware restore", supposedly different from the restore I did on my home computer.
    3. battery died, same crap again.
    (yesterday...)
possibly interesting to note was that the battery was fully charged and left alone for the day, but was dead when I checked on it in the evening.
I think something is happening where the battery isn't actually completely drained - so the second time around when I got lucky, the battery had fully run out... so when I plugged it in to charge it didn't try to turn on straight away (because it couldn't).
    ...Not really sure though.
    Any thoughts?????

Could possibly be the battery, I just thought if you remove the battery then try turning the phone on with the charger plugged in and see if that works, but then realised it doesnt as I just tried it, so ignore that one ha ha. Id try another battery in it and see if that solves the prob, if that doesnt work, it might either be totally screwed or just might need re flashing if the firmware has gone down the pan for some reason.

  • What is this noise, and battery problem on Iphone 4S

There was a battery problem on Iphone 4s so i was worried to buy it, but once I heard that Apple published new ios 5.0.1, I went down to the Apple store near to my house, and I bought Iphone 4S. First time meet with Iphone 4S great Siri, and more faster processer, I liked it, but after I used for 1 week I found many problems, there was battery problem still, and even there was noise problem, expeciallly the noise problem is annoying because when I phone call to my friend or home I can hear it very clealy...
    please fix it apple

Reset, will reset the battery meter is this is the problem. To Reset, hold both the Home and Power buttons until the iPhone restarts itself, ignore the "slide to power off", let the iPhone restart itself. Usually takes about 10 seconds of holding both buttons. If not better, try tap Settings App > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. The set up your iPhone again. If not better, you may need to Restore the iPhone Firmware, I would perform this with iTunes on your computer.
