Battery remaining

HI,
I noticed some people are reporting the % battery remaining. When I look at usage all I have is in use time, and standby time. There is no indicator on how much battery remains. Is there some place else to check for this information, or does it require an app?

No, they are estimating from the bar indicator on the iPhone.

  • IPhone 5 shuts down with 20% battery remaining

I apologize if this issue has been discussed already. It's a hard topic to find because I do not have an issue with my battery draining fast (it's what mostly come up when I try the search) but it's just that, as of late, my phone shuts down when I have about 20% of the battery remaining. I am out of warranty by only a month, this seems to have started with iOS 7.

I wonder if the issue was the cold weather. I was trying to get the phone to discharge per your suggestion and it lasted for an entire day! I am now starting to think that maybe while the phone sat in my car the cold would make the battery discharge faster and kill it. Anyway, I charged it to a full charge without disconnecting just to make sure. Seems to be working fine now.

  • IPhone 5 shuts down while still having more than 15% battery remaining

I've been using my iPhone 5 for a while and a few months back it started to shut down when it still had 10% battery remaining.
I tried to send it to repair while it still had coverage but they told me that my phone was OK and that with the iOS 7 update it would get better. They also told me that it was a normal behavior, and this was supposed to happen if the remaining battery wasn't enough for the phone to operate (e.g. if there was an opened app needing a lot of power). So, since then I always close the apps that I'm not using but this hasn't solved anything.
Since I updated, the issue has just gotten worse. Now it's shutting down when it has 15%-20% battery.
Does anyone else has had the same issue?

Most likely faulty battery. If you have convenient Apple Store, make reservation and then go and ask for free quick battery diagnositic testing. Also refer them to your previous attempt to take care of this while still under Warranty.

  • IPhone 5 shuts down with over 30% battery remaining

My iphone 5 is shutting down with over 30% battery remaining. It used not to shut down with still around 2% remaining but its increasing with every day now. For the last 5 days or so it is shutting down when showing even 30% remaining. When plugged in again, the battery is all drained down. Please someone give some valuable advice.
    thanks

Sounds like a definite hardware problem. You should still be in warranty, so head over to an Apple Genius Bar and they will either repair or replace it. A replacement will be much more likely, and it's free (if in warranty).
    Good luck!

My iPhone 4s shuts down with just less than half the battery remaining. Is my battery shot?

    Hi LucMiranda,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like your iPhone is not behaving correctly. The steps in this article can help with troubleshooting the battery issue you're seeing:
iPhone and iPod touch: Charging the battery
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1476
iPhone or iPod touch displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive
If you see the image below, charge the iPhone or iPod touch with USB power adapter for at least 15 minutes.
You should see this image when iPhone or iPod touch begins to charge:
If the screen still displays the low-battery icon, try turning the iPhone or iPod touch off and then on again.
If the issue persists, follow these troubleshooting steps.
    Cheers,

    Huh? By who?
The two biggest killers of Lithium batteries, the kind in an phone, are exposure to heat, & frequent full discharge/recharge cycles. Fact is, Lithium batteries don't like to be discharged below about 20% of capacity.

    Hi,
That should not be happening. Maybe you should take it back to where you bought it.

  • Battery Remaining Indicator

The indicator doesn't seem to make sense. When it is fully charged, the Show > Time yields 0:10. With 40% remaining Show > Time yields 1:26. What am I missing? Thanks

It sounds like you need to re-calibrate your battery:

  • Battery Remaining Display in Windows 8.1

Prior to installing Windows 8.1, when you hovered over the battery icon the tooltip would display the combined battery % display, but if you clicked on the battery icon, the pop-up window would display the % remaining for each battery seperately.
Since installing Windows 8.1 both the tooltip and the pop-up window display the combined % and there does not appear to be any way to show the individual battery %. Is there a way of reconfiguring this so that I can see the battery % individually when I click on the battery icon.

The time status notification shows depending on the Battery Health mode from the Lenovo dependency software (Lenovo Settings)
Go to Power settings, on the far right of the power setting page is Battery Health mode, choose Always Fully charge and the time status is displayed on hover for the batter notification, if battery charging is optimized for battery life then the notification wont show the time status notification.

  • Satellite L750-X5315 - Battery remaining time

    Hello,
I got Satellite l750-x5310 yesterday and I tested it through and through. While running the tests on battery the backup was not as promised. Here is how I performed the battery test
    1) I shut down the notebook
    2) charged it for three hours 100%
    3) disconnected adapter
    4) powered on the notebook (cheked battery status, it showed 100%) and started using it for JUST internet email and USB data transfers no videos no gaming etc on "eco power saver plan". HERE IS WHERE THE PROBLEM COMES:
The batery sometimes shows 95% (4 HOURS REMAINING) after 5 mins 89% after 10 mins 76 % (2 HOURS REMAINING) and sometimes jumps back to 80% and after 1.5 hours from power on the notebook shuts down ann shows low battery indicator (orange) on front panel refusing to power on without adapter plugged in. I did the test three times
I need to know whats the actual battery backup of this notebook. Is this normal and is the battery run time 1.5 hours on eco plan without adapter when fully charged or 4 hours as promised by TOSHIBA?
    Kindly help, thanks in advance

    Hey,
Before you start with some battery tests I would recommend recharging the battery 5-10 times that it reaches the full capacity and performance. Otherwise you cant make realistic tests and 3 times recharging is not enough.
Regarding your tests some word of advice: The battery operation time on Toshiba website is checked with lowest screen brightness, without attached devices, eco mode power profile and if you do *nothing* on the computer. Internet and email needs battery power and not less. So you can make a test if of battery life if you do nothing but not with doing some work on the notebook.
Everything what you do no on the computer needs battery power ;)

  • Error msg on screen say low battery 20% of battery remaining

recieving error msg on screen say low battery 20% of battery remaining

    chiggins3140,
Yeah, that 20% battery notification is normal - it's not an error message. There should be a "Dismiss" button. Tap it and the low battery message will disappear.

  • IPod Touch: Can I change the percentage of battery remaining for the low battery notification?

    See question above...thanks!

Thanks, lllaass. I re-read my question and just want to make sure what I'm asking is clear. I'd like to make the Low Battery warning appear at 10% charge left instead of 20%. Unless someone has other input, I'll assume it can't be done.
    Thanks again.
