Battery running low much faster after upgrade

Ever since I upgraded the software, my battery life has seriously degraded. Is anyone else experiencing the same issue? And is there a solution? I've already turned off location services - which is upsetting because prior to the upgrade, I had it turned on and my battery did not run low this quickly.

I took my phone into the Apple store for service for the same issue. They informed me it is a manufacturer defect that was always present, but became apparent when updating the iPhone due to overstress. I was informed the only way to fix this issue is to replace my iPhone. I then found out that because I was a month out of warranty, I would be required to purchase a replacement for $199 eventhough I personally had not damaged my phone. This replacement phone would not be guaranteed to not have the same defect- but came with a 90 day warranty. When I asked what would happen if an update came out after those 90 days that once again causes my wifi to gray out- the Apple genius helping me advised that I "use my phone a lot" in those first 90 days to see if it breaks before then. By charging me to replace a phone damaged by a faulty product- Apple is profitting from their own poor quality. Hopefully your phone is in warranty or they'll probably try to screw you over too. My reccomendation is to switch to a different brand of phone.

My battery runs low very fast (three hours). I looked in the usage settings and it seems the time for usage and stand-by are the same, allthough i did have my iphone on stand-by!! What can i do?

I have a problem with my iphone 4. Every few months my battery starts draining within a few hours. I have tried all kinds of battery saving tips, but they don't help. When i go to the settings/general/usage is can see that the time for Usage and Stand-by are the same, so my phone is fully on all the time this explains the draining. But in reallity i turn my phone to stand-by most of the time, i mean the screen is black and all???
The first and second time a had this problem, both a few months a part, i restored my phone and it was solved. This time i restored my phone but this did not help!! And restoring my phone every two months is not my preferd way of solving this problem.
Does anybody have an idea on how to solve this problem? can anybody help me?

Restoring is the answer. It sounds as if there is a rogue process constantly draining your battery.
The issue you face is that, if you restore your backup thereafter, you risk the problem coming straight back with your files.
Store your files individually and it is time to start fresh.

why battery is dying too fast after iso5.01 upgrade, It is dying on an average of 13% every hour and a half, in sleep mode. I've tried hard restart and restore in I tunes, no difference! It got worse after I upgraded to 5.01. This has to fixed If I dont use the phone it will need a full charge by noon.

Do a forum search and try some of the suggestions there before starting a whole new thread about battery issues.

Not sure, but try this:
Let the battery drain to below 20% (I went to about 14%).
Plug your phone in and leave it to charge COMPLETELY. This took my phone somewhere around 4 hours to complete.
When you're done, you may have better luck keeping a charge.
iOS 5 adds a lot of additional communication, and every time you connect wirelessly to anything, more power is used. Even so, some people report that a battery cycle like this helps. It seems to have worked for me.

I've had my 4th generation iPad for a couple of weeks now and have noticed the battery runs down so fast. I've been to Apple twice and have done everything they've suggested and have tried everything I could come up with to no avail. The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

I can't use WIFI after my iphone4s was updated to ios6.0 and the battery consumption goes much faster, how to solve ?

This seems to be a problem relatet to the current versions of the app. After uninstalling Spotify I installed an older version, 2.8.0.1081, which worked perfectly with wifi. No newer versions seem to work so I hope there will be a fix soon. I've tried changing the UPnP as well as NAT filtering settings, but the newer versions of the app still wont work.

There are major reception and battery problems with iPhone 3GS after upgrading to iOS 4.2.1.
I can not believe that Apple did not test this for major bugs like this one is.
I am a business user and can not effort to have bad reception. Apple wants to gain in the business clients... I never had this with my former BlackBerrys!
I need a reliable phone not a play thing like this is right now, it just needs it to work propely. And if a major bug like this comes along, fix it immediately. After the iPhone4 story, now this...incredible! Going back to my reliable BlackBerry! It just ain't reliable and takes forever to fix a problem.

I have the same issue after iOS 4.2.1 update. I am using iPhone 3GS officially unlocked by Apple. I tried using different SIM cards and both carriers show same problem when using phone in 3G mode. Phone falls back to EDGE mode showing 'E' from '3G' at start. I have reset the phone and rebooted several times and moved to different cell areas in the city just to verify the problem.
I had no such issues earlier. I also have Nokia E71 which shows full signal and has no such issues.
I have posted the bug on apple iphone feedback page. I hope they Apple will fix the problem and test the release properly on all models before releasing to public.

For global alerts, yes:
There is no need to do anything before the alert appears, and the MBA will not lose data should it go to sleep. If it goes to sleep at 0% you still have several hours to plug it in before it shuts down.
I wouldn't even bother displaying the percentage value.

What have you tried so far in terms of troubleshooting this issue? Are you plugging the iPod into a high powered USB 2.0 port on the back of your PC? Have you tried a different USB cable?
What happens if you try to reset the device with it still connected to the PC?
