I just bought a new MacBook Pro and I want to know if there are any techniques I can use to extend the life of my battery. Any suggestions for the newbie?

  • Battery saver mode stuck at 50% after changing to Linux.

    Hello,
When I had W7P installed on my X1/2G, I turned on the battery saver mode.
Later, I decided to change the OS to Linux and didn't change it back to normal
battery mode and Linux (Debian) only seems to charge the battery to 50%.
Firstly, is this in fact a Windows lagacy issue and secondly, is there a command
or BIOS option that will reset the battery mode to full charge?
    TIA.

    Thanks for reply.
Followed the instructions for the install as per website
but I can't get the tp-smapi and acpi-call kernel modules
    to load.
Apparently TLP has been known to work on the first
generation of X1 according to the ThinkWiki website
and should also work on the 2G model but I can't
even force load the modules as per FAQ.
    Any Ideas?

  • Why is it that the Verizon version of the new HTC One M8 has no battery saver extreme ? Its been on Sprint for over two weeks now !

The Battery Saver Extreme for the new HTC One Mi8 was announced by both Verizon and HTC, yet it is still not available on Verizon, has been on Sprint phones for over two weeks. According to HTC , Verizon has simply not released the necessary software update.
Not at all good public relations when many people bought this phone with this feature being one of main reasons for the purchase !

And a disabled download booster also. And the FM Radio is disabled. Just google for research.
T-Mobile has the options. from what I am reading.
    Good Luck

  • Battery Saver stuck...

    Hello everyone...
From yesterday night my battery saver has stuck... Look at the photo at the bottom of this post, to understand...
All those bars are from the background... I am 99% sure that the apps are not running in the background because I dont have any battery drain... So, I suppose "Battery Saver" has the problem...
I tried 4 or 5 soft resets but nothing... I also charge it full...
Have you any other possible solutions???
    Thank you...

  • HT1476 can the phone be set to battery save mode?

I noticed that if I go to sleep and my battery is at 100% in the morning it is at 90% without it even being in use, is there a setting to put the phone on battery save mode?

I'm deaf in one ear too, and what I did was create the files in mono. I use the 320AAC format, which in mono, shows up as 160AAC and saves 1/2 the space on the hard drive or memory chip. SInce you already have stereo files, it's a simple matter to convert them all to mono, using iTunes. Go to the preferences and set the ripping to a mono-type format, choose all the songs in the library, and then convert them all. It might take hours for a large library, but it works fine.
I tried converter plugs but they were bulky and there's no simple way to solder the wires together in the tiny leads that go to the headphones that I use, so making mono files was my best option.

  • Lumia 1020 updated battery saver problem

After updating the mobile software the battery saver application is not working well. The soft keys at bottom are working but back light is always in off . Please give some new update regarding this issue. When battery saver is in off condition also the soft keys back light is not working. Rectify it by an update.

Good day, vishnu9. You referring to the official Lumia Cyan Windows Phone 8.1 update, right? Since the issue happened after the recent SW update, have you tried verifying if your Lumia 1020's system apps have been updated as well? Just go to Settings > swipe to applications > store > check for updates. After this step, monitor the phone's performance and see if the back light of the capacitive keys will work fine. Keep us posted.

  • Battery Saver Apps---Suggestions Welcomed!

I've taken the plunge and purchased a new Samsung GNex. I want to start out right and monitor my battery usage on this new phone. My question for the community: What is the best battery saver/task killer app in the Market that won't crap my phone out and put me back into a tailspin like with my Samsung CRAPinate; I mean Fascinate! (tee hee!) I've looked at the Easy Battery Saver+Task Killer, Battery Monitor Widget Pro and the Battery Dr Saver plus task killer. I'm reeling over the unending list of claimed "this app saved my life" reviews.
So, has anyone had good luck or bad luck with these types of applications?

Those are great suggestions. Most of which I currently do. The only ones I cannot control are my emails. My Yahoo and Gmail do not allow me to manually set the sync option to 30 minutes to an hour. These apps are apparently coded to auto push emails. I can control my corporate email to sync at a designated time, but that's too important to set it to sync every 30 minutes to an hour. I need my corporate mail as soon as it hits the server since I'm not always in front of my laptop to read emails. Can the auto push be overriden in the Gmail and Yahoo accounts?
Gmail uses PUSH technology, so it doesn't use any more radio than the phone normally would. Do you use the Yahoo Mail app or use the stock email app on the Nexus? If you use the stock app, in the settings for your account, there is a place to set the amount of time from Never to every hour. To get there, go to Menu->Settings->Account(email name) Inbox check frequency.  If you use the Yahoo mail app, then you will need to look through the settings to see where to change the check for new messages frequency.
What do you use for your Corporate Email? Does your company use Microsoft Exchange or another email system?
If the email is important, you want to leave the PUSH enabled (unless you get tons of spam). That way you only use the radio for email when an email actually comes in. My company uses Exchange, and the app that we use is Touchdown, set for PUSH. Sometimes I get 10 emails in an hour, and sometimes I get no emails in 10 hours.
Another way I save on battery, is that I have a power supply at home, at my desk at work, and in my car. That way, I always have power available to me (unless I am in meetings or in my wifes car) I never run out of battery power

  • Lumia Battery Saver Settings

I'm using a Lumia 1520, and was wondering if there is somewhere to adjust settings for battery saver. I mean to configure when to start battery saver, select options to reduce or disable when mode is on...etc.
Used to have an Andriod phone and it had all such settings.
    Thanx in advance.

Apart from setting the battery saver to come on when battery is low, there is little you can do other than to manually start battery save mode. I find a decent battery monitor app help[s and Insider Pro gives accurate info and easy access to most functions, worth a try , it may help even if it doesn't solve your issue.

  • Updated 10.3 prob with z10 screen after waking up fron battery save

Just updated Z10 to 10.3. When the phone goes into battery saver, when I swipe to use phone, icon are large and have to resize screen. This happens no matter what app you are in or just home screen. The screen needs to be resized to fit screen after waking every time.

Thx. That solved issue. However, now I can't enlarge screens where I need to. Thanks for the reply.

  • Battery saver automatically turns down alarm volume

When my phone's battery (Droid RAZR M) got down to 30%, a notification asked if I wanted to go into battery saver mode.  I then set my phone to automatically go into battery saver mode at 30%.  Twice now I have slept through my alarms because the alarm volume was turned way down.  I'm assuming the battery saver is doing this, because that's the only thing I've changed on my phone since it's happened. I can't figure out how to disable the battery saver mode. I can't find it anywhere on my phone, and am wondering if someone could tell me where it is.  I know there are multiple battery saver apps, but I have no idea which one it is because I can't find a battery saver anywhere on my phone.  I'm assuming whatever app it is came with the phone.
    Thanks!
    Tyler

I know the alarm is an important function to rely on thans2316. You mentioned you set the phone for battery saver mode at 30%. This is a function built into the device. Have you tried adjusting the percentage? How about keeping the device on the charger at night, which would prevent it from getting to 30%?

  • HT4623 battery saver

    RE: the current update
To save battery life on my iphone and ipad, how do clear the apps I have used?  It use to be that you double click the main button until all the apps that were used came up then press and hold and delete.

you would need to swipe up on the app screenshot, when you double click the home button

  • Sentio battery saver - crooks and thieves! Shame on Blackberry!

After I upgrade this paid software it turned to free version with mass of annoying ads. Numeous e-mails to developet were left unaswered. Moreover, when I paid second time for the program which had earlier been paid it did not upgrade to pro version and was keeping its stupid ads and semifunctions. Finally I deleted the app. Now I sincerely believe that Blackberry has either really stupid and unprofessional management or these people are harming Blackberry image on purpose. Such things can never happen with Android or iOS. It is unfortunate that RIM is escalating their own funeral. As Drogba said to Evrebe: This **bleep**ing disgrace! And Apple and Android gets stronger.

Alright your having temper tantrum, Again if it was few dollars why are you on here making complaint?
Your blaming BlackBerry for what again,BlackBerry allow developers to make their apps. then if they app was not made you would still blame BlackBerry?
listen I don't want get into agruement with you because I simply gave you soloution that can help you to get back your funds and you can put the reason why you want back your funds BlackBerry will then review that request.

  • How to save battery life for ios 7

How do you save battery life

There is many things to help save battery life on IOS, hear are some battery saving tips I use when with low battery  .
Battery saver 1: Turn off Bluetooth , by going to "Settings>Bluetooth" and switching the little "On/Off" toggle.
Battery saver 2: Turn down the screen brightness half way or just below is fine, for at home, but if you use your idevice outside turn it up just below max brightness so you can see the screen, to turn up or down brightness you can navigate to "Settings>Wallpaper and Brightness" and there will be a slider to adjust brightness.Or if you are on IOS 7 you can swipe up from the bottom of the screen and it will bring up "Action Centre" and there will be a little sun icon, next to it will be another brightness slider, to exit "Action Centre" press the home button or just swipe the little down arrow.
Battery saver 3: Volume turn the volume up and down at certain times of day "eg: I turn volume up full or just below in the afternoons because most things are going on in the afternoon that probably make lots of noise, and at night turn it down because your ears have adjusted to quietness  and can pickup on quieter sounds".
Battery saver 4: Turn off WIFI when not in use "eg when playing games or just switched off" you can do this by going to "Settings>WIFI" there will be a "On/Off" toggle or via "Action Centre" "IOS 7+".
Battery saver 5: When your not going to be using your device for a while shut it down by holding the "Sleep/Wake" button.
Battery saver 6: Close apps running in the background by double tapping the home button and holding down the running apps then tap the little "-" minus in a red circle to close "IOS 6 and lower", things are a little different with IOS 7 its the same process of double tapping  the home button but a different way to execute the apps, you do this by swiping "Up" on the open apps. "Tip: You can swipe 3 at once!".
