Battery status on ipod nano 7th generation

I bought a new ipod nano today, 7th generation. When I turned it on the battery was nearly dead, so I plugged it in to charge. The battery symbol showed as fully charged and green with a lightening bolt. Is this normal or should the battery symbol be animated to show its charging?

That is normal.

  • IPod Nano 7th Generation - Battery life consumes itself

    Good afternon Apple Community,
My iPod Nano 7th Generation, as stated above, is consuming its battery life at a ridiculously fast rate.
It is my THIRD replacement and all for the same issue.
Yes, I have tried changing the settings and YES I have restored the iPod back to factory settings.
If anyone has insight into this issue and can assist, it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank You,
    Blake

I was researching this for the same reason. I have or have had 10 ipods and this is my 5th nano. It is barely five months old and only used 3 times a week. It was dead for no reason last week...so I charged it up and seemed fine. Then I used it yesterday for a short time, leaving substantial charge showing but today, it was soooo dead that itunes could not even detect it when I plugged it into computer. It was OFF when I put it away. I am sure of that. I think there is a problem but where to turn now? Any answers?

I fully charge my iPod nano 7th generation then turn it off. Two days later I go to use it and it and it was flat. What is going on?
sometimes i turn it off then it turns itself back on. But I sat and watched it after being charged and it stayed off but the next day it was still flat.
I really need to know what's going on. I would appreciate any help.

    Hi Kelci27,
There are a couple of troubleshooting steps you should take with your iPod nano. First, I would suggest a reset. See this article -
    How to reset iPod
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1320
If your battery life issue persists, restore the iPod to factory condition. See this article -

Should it still not be working properly you may want to contact Apple to seek service. See this page -

  • IPod nano 7th generation battery issues

I am only getting 2.5 hours of playback after a full charge to my nano. My older iPod (5th generation) would last for days before it would need a charge. Is this an issue that others have experienced or is this an isolated issue with a defective battery in my unit?

  • IPod nano 7th generation battery in sate of deep discharge?

    Hi all,
I have not used my iPod nano 7th generation for several weeks, and now have only a black screen, despite attempting to charge it several times. I read where this is considered a deep discharge. Is there a way to recharge the nano myself? Thanks

    Hi,
Press and hold home and on/off button until the apple logo appears. Then you can charge your ipod. After fully charging it off it and on it again.

  • IPod Nano 7th Generation - Bad out of the box?

I just purchased the iPod Nano 7th generation today and came home to sync it with iTunes.  iTunes recognizes the device for a second then I receive a "Disk was not ejected properly.  If possible, always eject a disk before unplugging it or turning it off." message.  I can see the iPod in iTunes for a second then it disappears.  As I keep it plugged in it will recognize, disappear, reapear then disappear again.
I purchased an iPod Touch 5th generation today and that is working just fine (as well as synching my other iDevices). Is this nano bad out of the box?

Same thing happened to me. It did download the playlists I wanted, but the next time I plugged it in it acted as though it was being plugged in for the very first time, (regsitration and set up etc.)
But the really bad news is the BATTERY LIFE. maybe get one hour of play time before it drains to zero.
    Anyone else have this issue?

  • My ipod nano 7th generation is stuck in a restore loop with a white screen. Now it won't turn on anymore. What to do?

My new Ipod Nano 7th generation is stuck in a restore loop. Here is what happened: I added music to it using the latest version of iTunes, the colored bar at the bottom of the summary tab in iTunes showed my that I added it and I disconnected it to listen to the music. As I turned it on, it told me that there is neither music nor pictures on it. So I connected it again to my computer and iTunes told me that I had to restore. Which I did following all the steps but it keep telling me that I need to restore it. After three times of restore it, I disconnected it from my PC and turned it off. Now it won't turn on anymore - even though the battery is fully charged - and when I connect it to iTunes, iTunes tell me "The iPod software updater could not be contacted. The server does not support this version of iTunes." Well, I just downloaded the newest version a couple of minutes ago from the apple website. My iPod stays black. What shall I do?

    Hi clarity,

ipod nano 7th generation having issues with the UI. Out of box everything worked great. Once I snyc the device and it finished, the UI becomes unuesable. You have to double tap every icon in order to open music, videos, etc.  I cannot swipe to the second page of icons,  black box appears around an icon and then switches to a different one anytime I swipe. A box even appears around the time and battery power. iPod & iTunes are both updated. What is the FIX on this issue?

I had this problem as well.  This is what I found by searching online.  I tried the fix on my nano 7th gen and it worked.  I hope this helps you.  Make sure to use two fingers for sliding and double-click the icons to get into settings.  Good luck.
It would seem that Voiceover has been enabled on your iPod Nano. The following article contains information regarding Voiceover, and how to disable it once it's been enabled.
iPod nano (6th generation and later): How to use VoiceOver
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4317
To turn off VoiceOver on iPod nano using VoiceOver gestures
From the Home Screen, swipe right or left with two fingers until you see or hear "Page 2 of 2" on iPod nano (7th generation) or "Settings" on iPod (6th generation).
If the icons have been rearranged, or if there are more than four Home screens, you may hear something different.
Slide one finger around the screen until you hear Settings.
    Double-tap to open Settings.
Slide your finger up or down the screen until you see or hear General, then double- tap.
Slide your finger up or down the screen until you see or hear Accessibility, then double-tap.
Slide your finger up or down the screen until you see or hear VoiceOver, then double-tap.
Double-tap when you hear "VoiceOver switch button on."
You'll hear "VoiceOver off" to confirm the setting. Now you can use standard gestures to control iPod nano.
Note: You can also turn off VoiceOver by resetting your iPod.

  • IPod Nano 7th Generation Screen Replacement

I recently dropped my iPod Nano 7th Generation and cracked the screen in the top corner.  Does anybody know where I can get this replaced in England and how much it costs?

If you leave it plugged in long enough, it should respond. that happened to me a couple of times when my battery completely drained. if that doesn't work, hold down the circular menu button (Just beneath the screen), and the power button (Top right corner, ontop of the Ipod, above where the battery life would be shown), to rester it. You might have to hold it for about 15-30 seconds before it resets. Hope i helped

  • Computer doesn't recoginize iPod nano 7th Generation and it will not power on

My iPod Nano 7th Generation was working I plug it inot the computer and computer would not recoginize it and now it will not power up.

    Try:
    - Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use.
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
