Battery, track[ad, & other settings on macbookpro & ibook
i have experienced battery and trackpad issues on both my ibook 12" and newer macbook pro 15"
i heard talk of a way to "reset" the power settings - a sub system that apparently monitors battery charging, trackpad, and keypad settings?
There are two such resets. One the System Management Controller, and most likely this is the one you're looking for; the other is the parameter RAM (which stores many system settings, e.g. display, speaker volume, double-click speed, etc.). You can reset them as follows:

Do you mean it will only go to sleep when running from the battery? Or do you mean it won't do anything except sleep when running from the battery?
You could try resetting the PMU. The PMU has control over the Sleep function, so resetting it may help. -
Can't add a new audio track without any settings
Can anyone tell me were faced with the same problem. Doing audio post production in Logic Pro X, the latest version, the project is big, At some stage the work I was faced with the fact that you can't add a new audio track without any settings, no matter what inserts I track with duplicate settings of one of the tracks and it begins to sound with this track. I don't add a new audio track with duplicate settings. I add a new one, and I still opens the track with some sort of settings. What is it? This is a glitch or I'm somewhere that we have not considered? Duplicates the configuration of one of the tracks collected in group 1, which I did for editing convenience. Duplicates and also automation and if the new track am I doing something then this machine is transferred to the existing track from this group.
Everything works in full 'Logic Pro X' mode. It's just a glitch in my project. The problem while you decide this: I insert a new track and it reset and set the output.

You can change the account shortname to whatever you wish to use.
As you can see from my example above. Once you click on the Create User button a new account will be created.
She will need to get her own Apple ID setup so when she starts with iTunes she can open her own iTunes account unless you both want to share the use of the same Apple ID. This can create a bit of confusion if you have your own iPads or iPhones or iPods. As you have discovered it's pretty much one iDevice with one Apple ID.
As for the iTunes library that becomes a more complicated issue. -
Case: When I go to Tools - Options - Privacy then Location Bar options, there should be another option to where we can disable auto-complete from the Location Bar without messing with other settings. Example #1: I click "Nothing" and then I gotta type in the website I wanna go to every single time. Example #2: I click "History & Bookmarks" and then it auto-completes. Is there any other option just to disable Auto-Complete all together??

Hello, In Lion 10.7.x I cannot disable the Lock documents for 2 weeks in Time Machine! Thus it prevents to change anything else like the system preferences or other settings. All is locked. How I can disable it?
Do you mean the check box isn't enabled?
Or you remove the check but it doesn't "stick"?
Or you remove the box but documents are stil getting locked?
That setting doesn't apply to other things in System Preferences, just apps that support AutoSave and Versions. If you're having a problem with System Prefs, please clarify exactly what. -
How to I delete all contact on my iPhone at once? These are contacts ABOVE the contact folder that says, "From My Mac."
Someone said create a new empty folder on the computer and sync to that -- didn't work .
Another person said, "Reset information in settings to restore to the default." That would erase ALL of the conetent I have on the phone and I do not want to erase all of the other settings and content from my iPhone -- just the contacts.
There has to be a better way than gong through and deleting one-by-one.Go into Settings...Mail, Calendar and Contacts and siwtch off the Contacts section from the account in question.
The phone should ask you if you want to keep or erase the contacts stored on you phone.
However, if they aren't synched to anything and only exist on your iPhone, you'll have to delete them all one by one -

I am running my first time machine backup onto a Western Digital MyBook Live. It is taking forever. Is there antivirus software running in the background or any other settings I need to change to speed it up? Also I am on a wireless network.
The initial Time Machine backup can certainly take a long time over wireless. Days, possibly. It's impossible for anyone here to be able to predict how long it will take, and wireless environmental conditions can change at any time.

Only you can determine that. If you're using third party AV software, anything is possible.
NAS devices may not be compatible with Time Machine, regardless of what their manufacturers may claim. Even after the Time Machine backup completes, your backup may be unreliable. You may not discover that until you need to rely upon the backup for some reason, and corruption can occur months or years from now.
Time Machine supports the following backup configurations:
A locally mounted volume
Time Capsule
A volume resident on a USB hard disk connected directly to a Time Capsule or current production AirPort Extreme Base Station.
That's it. Any configuration other than the above list places you in an experimental category. If your backup fails, you're on your own. -
Did all these things mentioned in this article, even did a system reset including erase data and other settings. iOS is up to date, still the iPad 2 display is not rotating.
This happened first a couple of weeks before, then I did a reset and it worked. Then after 2-3 days it happened again, I updated the iOS and it worked after that. Next time it happened, I tried all possible methods, including switching to software - rotation lock on/off. The hardware when turns to off/on, shows the correct icon on the screen of the lock and unlocked state. But the rotation is not happening.Just check again.
If you see a lock icon in the upper right corner of the screen - then the screen orientation is locked.
Try the side switch above the volume rocker first and see if that unlocks the screen. If that doesn't do it, double tap the home button and swipe to the right and look for the lock icon all the way to the left.
If the screen is unlocked but still will not rotate, reset the iPad.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
If the iPad screen still will not rotate - turn it over and gently tap it on the back a couple of times - but gently tap it. Make sure that the screen is protected. -

If I "solo" an audio track some other audio tracks aren't muted as they should...
On the contrary all instruments strips are regularly muted....

You can't. Restoring from a backup is all or none.
You can use a utility such as this one to extract the messages from the backup on your computer but you can't re-transfer the messages to the Messages app on your iPhone.

If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup).
If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.
You may have to force iPad into Recovery Mode
