Battery trouble! Help me!!!!

okay i got my ipod mini from my friend a few months ago and now the battery life *****! I charge it all the way and then when i play it it only has like 30mins of life and then it tells me that is out of power! What do i do!

Hello san716,
Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Did your friend "give" you the mini, or "sell" it to you. If your friend gave you the mini, that's probably why (battery problem). If your friend sold it to you, I would think twice about what kind of friend he is.
Firstly, drain the battery till the iPod is dead. Then let it charge overnight and see what happens in the AM.

  • My iPhone 5 is charging but wont turn on even with the hard reset and restore. Keeps showing low battery. HELP PLEASE

My iPhone 5 shows it's charging but wont turn on even with the hard reset and restore. Just keeps showing low battery. HELP PLEASE
I usually sleep with my phone on charge through the night and I haven't had any problem since, I left my iphone 5 charging last night and in the morning it stated 100% charged so I decided to turn the power off normally (Hold the hold button till it says slide to turn power off) I turned it off and suddenly my iphone went straight to low battery. Although I have been having weird battery percentage changes for example it would stay on 1 % for an hour or so or drain really quickly.
I have restored it as i thought was the thing to do all it's doing it restoring and still stating low battery and I have charged it for hours +. I can't hard reset it nor restore it NEED HELP PLEASE.

  • Can anyone help - battery trouble!

Hey I was wondering if anyone can help me. My ipod is 2 years old now and even from the start the battery life has never been that good. having recently having to reset the whole thing i have had even more trouble with the batter life. I plug it into the wall then it says it is fully charged after a couple of minutes (it used to take hours before) and then now after charging in such a short time says the battery is full and im getting enough power for only three songs. can i reset the battery or do something else to help!?

    See these.

Might be time for battery replacement though. Google "iPod batteries" for cheaper options than Apple.

  • Confusing battery trouble after water spill.  Not quite sure what the problem is but would rather not have to pay for diagnosis.

    Hello there!
So a few weeks ago now I made a schoolboy error and spilt a small amount of water over my 2009 macbook pro while it was closed.  It wouldn't wake up when I opened it so I decided to try and open it up, although it took me forever to find a screwdriver small enough to get the back off.  When I finally managed to take a look, there was a small amount of moisture on the battery.  I left it to dry for a day or so, although probably not as long as I should have done and then when I tried to boot it up again it worked!
    However!
Since its been working again, the battery has permenantly said that it's 'not charging' although often it does seem to charge in spite of this.  I had thought / hoped that this might be fixable simply by replacing the battery, but I dont want to spend a load of money on a battery, should there be more to the problem than this.  Also I have noticed that the battery says 'replace soon', rather than 'replace now' which makes me wonder if the problem could in fact be something do with the logic board instead.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I could do next?  Of course I would like to be able to fix it and have a normal working battery again, but failing that, some insight as to where the problem might lie would be extremely helpful.
Here is all the battery info, which doesnt really mean much to me, but may be of some use.  Many thanks to anyone who helps!

Do you know how easy it would be to just take the battery out......
That depends on your MacBook Pro variant, which we don't yet know (don't know your OSX version either). Different variants and screen sizes have different battery specs. If you need to find out your model before replying, you can enter your serial number in this Apple web page:
    Check Service & Support Coverage
And it will translate to a model. If that doesn't work (I'm having to give options here because I don;t know your OS version):
    1) For Mac OSX 10.7 "Lion" and later, do "About this Mac" and, in the resulting window, press the "More Info..." button to get this:
The red arrow I added indicates your model and screen size.
    2) For Mac OS 10.4 through 10.6, do the same except the "More Info..." button will bring up this screen:
Again my red arrow poiints to pertinent data. Please post that code BUT not any serial numbers. With these OS versions you need to provide the screen size separately, either 13, 15 or 17 inch.
Once you've gone to this trouble it is a very good idea to add it to your equipment line in your forum profile so helpers don't ahve to go through this again for future questions. See my equip line below for an example of enough info to get fast help.

  • MacBook Pro Battery Trouble

I now have the third battery in my 17" Pro and it is having the same trouble as the first two; the battery bows up and expands rendering it useless. My extended warranty ran out in September but I'm really mad. This is obviously a KNOWN problem, according to the tech, so why do the customers have to pay for a crummy Sony battery AGAIN????

All batteries have a limited life span.  This is determined largely by  the amount of use it has had and how it been maintained.  If you use your MBP predominantly under battery power, it chronological life will be decreased than if you used the power adapter.
If your MBP has a user replaceable battery (reading between the lines) it seems that you are averaging a bit more than one and one half years plus for each battery.  With heavy battery use, that maynot be out of line.  If it is a built in one, then I suspect you have a valid argument.
I can't comment on what the 'tech' said to you because I was not privy to the conversation, but if you go to FINDER>HELP> MAC HELP enter 'battery' in the entry field you will find many useful suggestions for lengthening battery life.
    Ciao.

  • Ipod touch 2nd generation goes from apple logo to low battery symbol when trying to turn it on.  Won't show up in itunes either.  Is it a dead battery? Help please.

Hi, I have a 2nd Geration iPod touch.  The ipod will NOT go past the apple logo when turning on.  After about three minutes of waiting the screen will go blank.  So, I push the sleep/wake button and the low battery symbol appears, indicating that the ipod is being charged.  After about three minutes the ipod goes to sleep.  Wake up and the red battery shows up again but this time the apple logo appears after about three minutes and stays on for 5 minutes before going to sleep again.  When you wake it up it is on the red battery again. and the process repeats. The battery symbol never increases from the low mark.(no matter how long I charge it.)  It also gets a little bit hot after a while.  The ipod will NOT show up in iTunes either.  Please help thank you.

If not successfl then an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. Maybe a battery.

  • Ipod mini troubles: Help Needed

I really need help with ipod mini troubleshooting..
I've had my Ipod mini for about 3 years now and lately have been running into a few problems.
    In the past few months:
-My Ipod's "battery meter" has been acting really strange, one second it may be reading as 3/4 full, and the next it shuts down saying that my battery has depleted, then a few minutes later it will be reading full again. And just to let you know, I always charge it overnight to avoid having a dead battery, and I always make sure to properly shut it off using "hold".
Resetting my ipod works sometimes, but other times doesn't..
    Yesterday:
My Ipod is no longer responding at all, and I'm pretty sure I know why: Some careless person spilled some water near and on my ipod, I dried it off as soon as I could. It was working properly shortly afterwards, but a few hours later, it shut off saying that the battery was dead again, and a picture of a "cartoon ipod" with dead eyes("XX") appeared on my screen, and it said under the picture to go to "www.apple/support/ipod". This was when it wasn't connected to a power source. When I connected my ipod to my computer via USB, my itunes does not recognize that it is connected ("Do not disconnect" does not appear on my ipod) and a picture of a "dead battery" has appeared on my screen, it is not in the "recharging mode" either (with the picture of the battery moving).
I tried re-setting it numourous times, and always end up with either the "dead battery" picture, or the "dead cartoon ipod" picture on it.
Help would be greatly appreciated, as I use my ipod everyday for school and leisure.
    Thanks.

I've tried that several times without luck.

  • Ipod mini battery trouble

Hello, I purchased my son a mini ipod and although i am not 100% positive which generation it is i do know that it is either a generation 1 or 2. My son was listening to the ipod in bed one night then it froze on the song, on the screen it showed the song and the artist.
My son is tellin me 2 different stories either he droped it or it suddenly froze.
I have changed the battery myself through instructios i found on the internet, everything went fine. All that the screen shows now is an apple symbol even when i put it in the wall to charge, A battery symbol appeared for about 10 seconds then it went back to the apple symbol this was before i plugged it into the wall.
Is there anyway i can fix it or do i have to restore it or is my apple ipod mini stuffed!!
Any help would be most appreciated..
    Thank You

sounds like your ipod mini is dead i wouldn't of tried to change the battery yourself i would have gone to the local
apple macintosh retailer or repair shop it would have then cost you only $79.99 to have someone replace the battery
and it being done by a trained professional instead it is going to cost you 300.00 for a ipod now so have fun

It's just referring to the battery.  Replace it and the error message will go away.  You can buy the battery here

  • BB wont turn on, wont recognize battery. HELP

Hi, hoping i can still salvage my curve. here's the problem:
a few days ago i droped my BB curve 8320. (it was on carpet, indoors, no moisture). Naturally it turned off, and will not turn back on. the only reaction i get is: A) when the battery is removed and the BB is plugged into my computer or wall charger, the red light flashes once brightly (like a normal phone would do) then shows a white screen with a battery & red line trough it. and B) when the battery is inserted, and the USB or wall charger is plugged into it, the red light turns on ever so faintly(can really only be seen when ithere are no other lights on)  and i get the icon of the battery with a blur lightning bolt through it.
-i have already tried every combination of pulling the battery, charging it over night, charging it for a few hours, pulling the SIM card that i could think of.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Based solely on that, I wouldn't rule out the battery quite yet...spontaneous discharge has been reported here before.
To truly know, you need to do a few things...
    1) Put the BB onto a known good charger for 2 hours, and leave it totally alone, no matter what...then see if it'll boot up.
    2) Obtain a known-good and already fully charged battery, try it in your BB, see what happens.
    3) Obtain a known-good and identical BB, try your existing battery in it, see what happens.
The results will give you some guidance as to what might be the problem. If the battery did fully deplete, it can be damaged, sometimes to the point of being rendered useless.
You also can try this trick...
    1) Put the BB onto a known good wall charger
    2) Take out the battery (with the BB still on the charger)
    3) Leave the battery out for 5 minutes (still with the BB on the charger)
    4) Put the battery back in, still with the BB on the charger
Sometimes, that sequence has been known to get a balky BB to boot up.
    Good luck!

  • Ipod freezes on syncing and won't unfreeze until battery dies - HELP

my friend has an 80 gig ipod classic and uses Windows Vista on a Gateway PC. When she syncs her ipod, it freezes (the ipod) and says "corrupted." When she unplugs the ipod from the computer, it is still frozen and will not unfreeze until the battery dies and it is recharged a bit.
    PLEASE HELP

Have You tried the restart...when it freezes up. that might help. its two buttons Menu and the centre, press them at the same time...Try Restarting the ipod before you connect it other than that you might want to consult your closest apple store geek. There is a disk mode and try restarting then pressing Centre and Play/Pause button when it shows the apple sign might work. I had one that did that, but thats because i washed it in the washer machine three times. now it works great. but dont go do that. Or it may be your computer USB cable. just holla back if you still cant figure it out- oh and if you want to take it outta disk mode, just restart again. and it should work. other than that consult a geek.
But if you need some advise, it (ipod) might need to be restored and you can do that on your itunes. just click the ipod when it comes up and there should be a button that says "Restore". i hope she has all her music and movies on her hard drive.

  • Palm T/X will still not turn on after replacing bad battery! Help!

Have had this Palm T/X since December '07 and when it was working I had absolutely no problems or issues.  One day at work, I noticed that it felt unusually hot in my pocket and found that it had been switched on accidently and who knows how long it had been running.  I had to hit reset to get it to respond and turn off.   Got home to recharge it and it has never turned on since.  That was about 8 months ago.
I took it in to a reputable dealer and had the battery changed.  The tech related to me that the old battery was shorted out and non functional.  Unfortunetly even with the new battery and sitting on the charger for hours it is not responding to the power switch nor to any attempt at a hard or soft reset.  What can cause this?  Is my T/X dead forever?  Now this was a gift so I'm not afraid to invest in some replacement parts, I just need to appeal to those more knowledgable to brainstorm some other potential injuries!  Thank you in advance for your time and suggestions!
    Post relates to: Palm TX

I would suggest you talk with the reputable dealer about the problem - it sounds like the problem lay deeper than just the battery!
From this side of the computer screen, we have no way of telling what went wrong!
Water damage, physical damage from being dropped/flexed, plugged into a higher voltage than recommended, we just can't guess, sorry!
