laptop - Pavilion dv7-6c27 cl battery - hp muo9 notebook battery so my little icon in the corner says plugged in but not charging. I've tried all the uninstalling things, unplugging it and plugging it back in but its not working. i did a battery check and it said UNKNOWN! it told me to unplug the battery and the ac adapter but it still didn't work. i can't find any system updates that is needed and i need help!! please fix it! it is a great laptop other then this!!

I see that you are having problems with the battery percentage and charging icon on your HP computer. I would like to help with this issue but I need some information.
Can you provide the full model and product number of the computer? Here is a link that shows how to find that information.

Hi all,
Did anyone encounter STK 2540 Battery becomes unknown status? I don't know why the last learn cycle is 1970 year! Placing a call and tried to change with a new Battery, but it becomes Unknown too after charging about 10-15min. Anyone has a passcode to enter engineer mode console to reset the time?

Satellite L500-1GE - Battery unknown in device manager

I have a problem with battery driver. I'm using Microsoft Windows XP professional. Manager of devices shows battery 2x (unknow devices!). Anybody have the same problem?

There is no battery driver that you mean. Its a part of Windows and you dont have to change anything on it.
So please check the device manager again. What devices you mean exactly? Have you already checked the device and vendor ID?
Maybe you should try to remove both entries and restart the notebook. After this the drivers should be installed automatically.

Batter won't charge... AC connected. 0% battery.

I've had my laptop for a while. It crashed (bluescreened), and windows 7 had to be reinstalled. After that, my wifi stopped working and my battery stopped charging. I've tried various driver softwares and solutions. Nothing worked. Today, my wifi magically started working! My battery is still the same, but my wifi gave me hope. I've tried various solutions on HP forums and nothing works. I used hp battery check. It says, " Battery: unknown. Please disconnect and recconect battery and power supply." or something like that. I tried. It did nothing. I've tried going into my device manager and doing various steps! nothing works! Any advice?

Well how old is the battery? If it is around 2 years old or a little older it is time for a new one. They can be working fine one day and just give up the next day.
The only thing you can try is to "uninstall" the battery. This explains it.

Every once in a great while it works.

My 16b 3gs was working perfectly. The battery died and I plugged it in correctly to charge and it also neohook up to itunes for restore. It also had a little exclamation button that reads: IMEI:unknown and just below it read ICCID: Unknown. Nothing else

My 16gig ipone 3gs was working perfectly since it was replaced only a month or to prior. I was visiting with some friends around the ole pipe and low and behold the phone was completly dried of it's go juice. One we noticed I reached into the kitchen and plugged it in to the outlet.,,, The battery died and I plugged it in correctly to charge and it also said Emergency calls only in various foriegn languages. It also said to plug it into your itunes. All the while haviing no calling options to say the least. I followed the apple instructions perfectly when it said that there was a new version of itunes I should download first, prior to refreshing it. It went through all of the installing and so on then at the end you still get a useless phone that doesnt work. IMEI: unknown and ICCIC; unknown (both of which can be found by you on the box or on the sim card case. I completley removed the sim card and it worked in my hubbies 3g.   I tried several times and also AT&t had made sure the imei and iccic where correct. So I spent hours getting nowhere with this. Its new and nice and broken.. Im going to leave that Apple store with a brand new iphone 4 tomorrow. Simply b/c it is for my pain and suffering and for giving me a crappy refurbished phone. Fair is fair. Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

The missing apps could have been done by setting the Restrictions that can hid those apps. If the backup was made with those retrictions set the the Restrictions are also restored.
Thus, if you get it to work restore to factory settings/new iPod, not from backup

When doing so it fails, displaying unknown error 28 - looking at more info, it makes little sense other than a possible hgardware fault. I've got my new T440s thinkpad recently. Unfortunatelly, I am not able to charge my battery. I've tried many different things to make it work but with no luck. Usually Power Manager shows 2nd battery status as unknown, sometimes says that "error occured". What is strange - one time, for a while, battery status and condition were good (this happend after I discharged completly the internal battery.
Lenovo solution center says that "A communication error has occured".
Do you have any idea what can be wrong? Is it software issue or simply battery is broken?

you cannot overcharge the iPhone battery. You can leave it plugged in with a full charge for as long as you want. It will not affect the battery at all.

Unknown indicator = severe battery drain?

I have a 6220 Classic and recently a new indicator has appeared in the top right corner of the homescreen (alongside battery strength indicator). At the same time I'm noticing that my battery is not holding any charge, as in I have to charge it daily or more often, even when I'm not making calls and have bluetooth turned off.
I can't identify the indicator in my manual but I think it might be something to do with GPS? It looks a bit like a satellite - a sort of coke can with oblong wings coming off at an angle!!
Interestingly I just went into Nokia Maps (as a test) and when I exited the indicator disappeared from my homescreen.
Any advice gratefully received :-)

If it's this icon you see next to the alram icon, then it's nothing to do with the WLAN, it is the GPS.
Make sure Maps or anything else that uses the GPS isn't running in the background ("GPS" application, location tagging for the camera etc.)

Unknown Fault With My Battery

there is some issue with my battery .. its look like spoiled ....my battery i think there is six cell in my battery but one cell is just spoiled and it makes my battery damaged ..so please Tell Me why its happened ? this is factory fault??

Which model of MBP do you have iMacLED? Does it have a fixed battery or a removable one? Are you still under warranty?
Battery faults of this kind are far from uncommon in all electrical devices and not usually related to anything you have actually "done". If it is defective then take it to an Apple service centre and they will probably simply replace it for you.

Unknown icon next to battery?

I have an odd icon to the left of my battery that looks like two warning flags crossing one another? Any idea what it might be?

If it looks like this: , that's the Bluetooth icon.
You can turn off Bluetooth in Settings > General > Bluetooth.

Tried to update my iPad OS from iTunes. Frozen and got an "unknown error msg". I tried to restore the iPad to factory settings..got the same

I bought today a new iPad from Rideau Store. The setup guys didn't update to latest software version. I tried to do myself trough iTunes, which notify me that an upgrade is available. After a while the upgrading process froze with a msg "unknown error ..". I clicked on the More info button and I got a page saying "due to a scheduled upgrade of Apple's support system some feature are not available.
The bottom line is that now the iTunes does detect the iPad being in recovering mode and asks to restore it to fabrics defaults. I tried to do this and again I got aqn "unknown error"
Finally I run the iTunes diagnostics to check the connectivity between my iPad and my HP laptop (iTunes). For unknown reson the iTunes does not detect my iPad. See below the diagnostics log:

Memory upgrades and battery scratches

Good afternoon all!
I couldn't find where to email Lenovo directly so unfortunately I'm going to have to post here.
I'm probably going to catch some flak for this but hey ho, so heres the thing, I bought two brand new Lenovo 3000 N100's 5 years ago, all good, they both came with a 512MB SO-DIMM and since I wanted more memory I bought 2x1GB SO-DIMM's which I put in mine and put the other 512MB in the other one giving mine 2GB of RAM and my mum's 1GB of RAM.
Doing this was easy peasy, unscrew *ONE* screw and the flap just slides out of the two slots on the opposite side of the flap to the screw. Job done.
Scroll forwards 5 years and times have moved on... a lot and it seems like we apparently need to MASSIVELY over engineer things now.
So I bought three Lenovo 3000 G570's, all good stuff and all came with 1x2GB and 1x4GB for a total of 6GB, all good but me being me and a Firefox tab whore, what with RAM being so awesomely cheap I decided what I was going to do was get 8GB (2x4GB) SO-DIMMS (Corsair), take out ALL my existing memory, put in the new Corsair 2x4GB SO-DIMMS, take out the 2GB SO-DIMM from the one I got my sister and put in my now spare 4GB SO-DIMM giving me 8GB of RAM, my sister 8GB of RAM, my mum sticks with 6GB of RAM and I have 2x2GB SO-DIMM's left over spare.
SO, my sister and mum have already unboxed theirs and all is well, I unboxed mine, flipped it over and there are no less than *FOUR* screws holding the flap in now, granted there is just one 'flap' covering the CPU/RAM/HDD/WIFI/etc so okay fair enough, it's a big 'flap' after all.
So I undo said four screws and I should just be able to slide the panel out now right? Wrong, obviously four screws were deemed not nearly enough to keep it in place, so there are now tabs which are actually clipped in around pretty much all sides of this panel.
Well okay this can't be difficult right? Wrong. Now I'm a firm believer in the notion that if it won't budge don't just keep applying more and more force until something breaks. So I'm looking all over this thing, testing it gently from different sides to see if I can prise it open but it's becoming quickly apparent that I'm expected to BEND the panel so I can get the tabs out around the sides!
MASSIVELY over engineered and COMPLETELY unnecessary, were the FOUR screws not already holding it in place okay? It certainly seemed that they were? Okay so I need to bend the panel to get the tabs out but I'm guessing it's a reasonably easy thing to do not requiring much force right? Wrong. So it became quickly apparent then I'm going to need quite a bit of force, the problem is it's the kind of force that requires a flat head screwdriver and despite my best efforts it was impossible not to mark the bottom of my nice shiny brand new laptop! But that's not the end of it.....
So I've undone the four screws and I've managed to bend the panel and prize out all that tabs as gently as possible all whilst doing my best to try not slip the screwdriver underneath the panel taking a nice stab at the motherboard/memory/CPU/wifi/etc underneath because that would just *really* make my day, so the four screws and numerous tabs would be it right? Wrong. It appears that there is something underneath the panel STILL holding on, "more tabs?!" I cry in despair as my engineering family background cries out "WHY LENOVO GODS? WHY?!!! Does this panel need to survive a thermonuclear explosion?! Does it need to stay on whilst being driven over by a tank?! WHY?!".
So I'm trying everything, gently wriggling it this way, wriggling it that way, lifting it this side, lifting it that side, EVERY conceivable way of removing the final tab underneath I tried.... and failed. I pour through all the manuals again, maybe I've missed something? Maybe I'm just being completely thick (it's not unknown to happen)? But no, the manual makes it sound as easy as breathing so I give it one last try, I lift the panel putting more and more force through it until eventually BANG it comes off.... and I sit there staring.... laptop on the table.... the panel in my hands.... and the now broken tab.....

With sigh I proceeded to install the new memory and replace the panel which now ironically goes on and comes off again SIGNIFICANTLY easier now the tab underneath has broken off and do you know what? The panel doesn't seem to have lost any of it's ability to stay in place? Funny that.
The other funny thing is that when I go to 'upgrade' my sisters laptop, the panel comes off EASILY! Maybe during assemble mine was done differently? Maybe the tolerances on mine just made it too tight to come off easily but with another sigh I go to put the battery in my new laptop so I can check all is well and what do I find?

All three brand new laptop boxes had the Lenovo seal on them so the retail store couldn't have opened it and my sister's and mum's laptop's were all fine?
So dear Lenovo, I love buying your laptops, I've bought five already, I'd buy again but would you be so generous as to send me a new panel and battery? I'd really appreciate your help.

Problem with battery for MacBook Pro 2007

I have a problem with battery that was replaced during video card service 1.5 years ago
Battery health was around 80% and it stopped to work, I continued to use notebook with power cable and after week the battery become like this!
spoke with person in Apple store and got answer that it is not covered by Apple and I will need to buy another new battery.
For me it looks like manufacturing problem and I'm not expecting that after 1 year my battery will die like this! Thanks that it didn't explode!
What I should do in such case?

All my battery story is ending with bad taste...
I always relied on quality of the Apple products, it brought me to change all computers and phones to Apple brand. I was ready to pay extra for their products...
This battery has an Apple brand on it and I'm expecting that Apple will take some responsibility for it.
First battery on my MacBook Pro 2007 worked without any problem for 4 years, then it was replaced by Apple service tech person for unknown reason. This "new" battery failed just after ending of 1 year warranty coverage and even deformed in such scarry way. And now I don't have any option to ask if there is possibility that I'm experience a manufacturing defect! And I know that it is possible, internet is full of negative comments for these batteries!
Now I'm asking myself again, if it worst to buy Apple products? Are these products have proper quality?
