Battery will not charge, but problem is not battery or ac directly

So I have an HP Pavilion dv7t-7000 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC. I have had it for almost 2 years without any serious problems. I use my laptop to play games on steam and have not had any overheating problems before. Yesterday, I had been playing a game for maybe 10 minutes and the computer shut off. I assumed this was an overheating issue, but I could not turn the computer back on. Pressing the power button made no lights come on, there was no light for the ac led being plugged in, nothing. I took the battery out and unplugged everything and held the power button for 30 seconds and nothing happened. Eventually, I got the ac led light to come on by plugging it in without the battery in the computer.
So now my problem is that I cannot charge the battery. I can only get the computer to recognize the ac adapter when the battery is not in. However, if I plug in the ac adapter and then put in the battery, it says it is charging. However, it isn't actually charging. It just stays at the current percentage. If I unplug the ac adapter while the battery is in and then try to plug it back in, the computer will not recognize that the ac is plugged in. I have to turn off the computer, take out the battery, and plug in the ac adapter again. Sometimes it doesn't work the first time either. I have to turn off and on the power strip that I plug it into. I tried it on another outlet and it worked that way, but I still had the same problem with the battery.
I also have tried to see if the problem is the ac adapter by plugging it in to a different laptop. The other laptop recognized it immediately with the battery still in. I also plugged in a different ac adapter to my computer and it recognized it with my battery still in (it's from an older laptop though so it does not have enough power to charge my battery, so I can't just use that one).
So the ac adapter apparently works fine. It seems like the problem is with my computer. The battery is also fine. I ran the system tests, it doesn't need to be calliberated either. I thought maybe I needed a BIOS update or there was some problem with a driver, but I don't see how that has to do with the ac adapter. Does anyone have any ideas? I would really appreciate it as I need this laptop for school so it needs to be portable with a charged battery.

It appears that you have a power issue with the notebook in relation to the battery. I will try to help you with this.
Based on the troubleshooting you've tried, the issue appears to be hardware related. Something internal related to the AC power socket and the battery.

Unchecking the birthdays option definitely knocked something loose - but iTunes still had old stuff listed.
I had good results with removing everything from the ~/Library/Calendars folder and emptying the trash (with iTunes & iCal) both exited. I started iCal and it was back to the default - as if I had never used it - but then for reasons I'm not totally sure of, everything showed back up. My subscriptions all reappeared and I had calendars of the same name as my subscriptions appear in the regular section. I deleted all those and then quit & restarted iCal. When I started iTunes, everything was perfect - now everything appears normally and everything syncs.

i created a site for IT services and this site includes some lists for various services

and also workflow are configured for these lists for create new item
and only 3 type of users will work on these lists
1)Requestors (Create,View rights)
2)Contributers (Contribute permissions)
3)Approvers
Scenario:

approve and add a Contribute userid in AssignedTO field
---Contribute user also will recieve email and he also Open item and edit ans save this list
so basically its backend , data inserted by requestors will save in lists
so here i need all Requestors end users will not acces IT services site and add list item directly in list.
is any other option availabe that i will provide a diffrent front end page for Requestors at root level site (which is Intranet.com )
and they will add and view only their data, and Contributers also view and edit all users data.

You can use two web parts to show the list items for different group.
In the List view page, add another list view web part, set the first web part list view to filter Created By field with Me, second list with all list items.
Then set the first web part with audience Requested group, and second web part with audience Contributers group.

2010 a1286 will not turn on. Magsafe will show charge but nothing else happens

I have a Macbook Pro 15” from September/October 2010.
On Saturday when I opened it up (it had just been on sleep for the last week) it showed a dulled screen and the big wheel as it normally would to load everything up again.
Then the screen went black and there was no sign of anything. I tried switching it on again but nothing.
Left it charging over night and still nothing.
When I press the battery indicator light on the side there is one flashing green and then nothing else.
I have an appointment with Milton Keynes Apple store on Saturday morning for it to be diagnosed.
I am hoping it is just the battery needing replacing (but when I have it plugged in the green light shows on the magsafe connector).

So there's a real chance that repair won't be as easy as replacing the battery...

What are the electrical specs of the car charger? The Apple wall charger is rated at 5V and 2A. If the car charger does not output 2A @5V, you'll get the not charging message. However, it will still charge, but very slowly.

Actually, you're not. That's not an accurate description of any of the Canon 5D models.
There are EOS 5D, EOS 5D Mark II, and EOS 5D Mark III models. Which do you have, specifically? Details will matter for this.
If you have a 5D Mark III (three) it's too new and you will not be able to directly open files with Photoshop CS4. You'll either need a newer version of Photoshop or to use the free DNG converter.

Adobe will not accept Bank Direct Debit for payment

Adobe have just lost a Creative Cloud sale to me because it will not accept a monthly Direct Debit as means of payment rather than a credit card. As the law on periodic payments via a credit card carries a high high compared to the law on bank Direct Debits, I am afraid that such short sightedness means "Thanks but No thanks!". Pity! ( BTW Adobe bank Direct Debits provide more security for the supplier than credit cards.)

What do I do to view images on CS5-64 when it will not open them?

The program will not open images, either directly or from Bridge. Using Win 7 on a Dell PC.

Non NTE5 master - will they charge me?

I have an old style (2A?) master socket and an extension coming from it downstairs. There is an intermittent fault in which i get a continuous dial tone when trying to ring out. Incoming calls seem to be OK. An engineer is due on Weds and I am worried that I will be charged but feel this would be unfair as the master socket is customer inaccessible. I have read that BT's responsibility ends at the master socket but if they installed the extension then how would I access the wiring at the master socket if it is illegal for me to remove the faceplate? Surely the master should be replaced by an NTE5 socket at no cost to me??

Very unfair, I agree. Its on your property, you dont own it, you cant touch it, you cant maintain it, and you have to pay to get it fixed. I had something similar with a fault, and fought like mad to get the charge waived. But it took a lot of doing.
See if you know anyone (handyman) who could check it out for you? Might just need a new socket and any electrician can do it, its only 4 wires.

HT4528 About 30 minutes ago, my iphone 4 screen just went white. It still shows the time, signal and battery at the top, but everything else is white. I can't receive calls/text messages. My phone will not lock or turnoff, but it will charge. HELP!!

I don't know what to do. My iPhone 4 just all of a sudden had a blank white screen. It still shows the bar at the top with the signal, time, and battery life. But the rest of the screen is white. If I touch the screen it acts like it's selecting something and gives me the choice to "Copy". It will still charge when I plug it up, but i cannot turn it off or lock the screen. I tried leaving it alone for awhile to see if it will lock on its own, like it normally would, and all it does is dim the screen. I guess im going to try to just let it die, and then see what happens, but if anyone else has any suggestions (other than taking it in to be looked at or getting a new phone) I would greatly appreciate it!

Any number of things could have caused the phone to do this. If after the reset you are experiencing additional problems, the next step in the troubleshooting process is a restore from a backup. Make sure you have one before you start the restore process. If that does not improve things, then you may have to restore as a new device. Remember, restoring as a new device will delete all data off the phone. Make sure all of your pictures are imported to the computer and all other data is synced to supported applications on the computer before restoring as new. Battery problems. Plugged in, says charging, but is not actually charging

I have an HP TouchSmart tm2 (have had it for a few years now). Everything works fine (for the most part) except the battery. I have it plugged in but it says "0% available (plugged in, charging)" but it's not actually charging. It's been this way for a few days. I have taken out the battery and then put it back in, but nothing changes.
I know I am no longer under warranty, and since it works fine while it is plugged in, I am not about to spend a ton of money to have this problem fixed. It started (minorly) when I got the laptop back from HP (completely unrelated issue, while still under warranty) a little over a year ago. It wasn't big issue so I didn't worry about. It's just annoying now. I am just wondering if the battery needs replaced (and if so, how much is that going to run) or if it is a bigger issue that I will just have to live with because I'm not going to put a lot of money into this computer. I was hoping to be able to use this one at work and my old Dell at home (the Dell doesn't hold charge anymore and the battery costs more than the laptop is worth), since this one was still holding charge at the beginning of the week. Now it won't even charge. I have left it plugged in and off over night and there was no change in the battery percentage... frustrating, kind of makes me want to avoid HP from now on...

Click the plus (+) sign next to Batteries category, right-click All of the "Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery" listings, and select Uninstall In the "Confirm Device Uninstall" dialog box, click OK. (it’s ok if you only have 1 of these listings).
Click the plus (+) sign next to System Devices.
Right-click the “ACPI Fixed Features Button" and select Uninstall. In the "Confirm Device Uninstall" dialog box, click OK.
Shutdown

Ipad2 battery will not work, once powered on it says 100% charged. but if i unplug it, it stops showing images.

Battery seems dead. only powers on when charged, but goes off when i unplug it's power cord. And if it was on, i could only use it for about 5 minutes, then it flickers off.
     i've tried updating it to ios 7.0, but when it starts to prepare for update it shuts off due to the 5 minute time. I tried that on the device itself, tried with a mac, but it only powers on when charged.
     Strange thing, when i go in to recover mode it stays on like.. forever! And if i charge it with a iphone 1A charger it will not pass the apple logo on start up; but if i use the ipad 2A charger it stays on for 5 minutes!!
     Please help me, i had this issue foe weeks!
     just to tell you people how my ipad got this issue: my sister was playing it at the sofa for an hour or so. then i went and picked it up and tried to power it up, but it just stays black. i charged it, and as i said above, my ipad only works for 5 minutes!

Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
    Note: The LED on the MagSafe power adapter may change states or temporarily turn off when you reset the SMC.
