Battery with Red X--HELP

Hi,  I pulled the battery to do a reset and when I put it in now all I get is a battery with a red x over it.  This is the original battery charged with the charger that came with the phone.  I also have another Blackberry battery made and this battery also does the same thing.
PLEASE HELP!
Sarah

Try this:
Plug the phone to a wall charger without a Battery then reinsert the battery as soon as you get the Red X

My battery drained. Pluged in to wall but screen shows battery with red line but doesn't seem to be recharding after 20 min.  Should I wait longer or do a hard restart? I haven't backedup in ages and don't want to lose pics, contacts etc.  Will a hard restart wipe all that out?

    Agree with Richard:
-Your device needs both the CR and LF. To accomplish this:
option 1: Concatenate the "end of line" string constant (this is a combination of CR and LF, located in the string pallete) to all your outgoing commands. Make sure in the "Visa configure serial port" the "Termination character enable" flag is false.
option 2: Concatenate only a CR to your command's strings. Make sure in the "Visa configure serial port" the "Termination character enable" flag is TRUE AND that the termination character is set to 10 (meaning LF) which I think is the default.
Details can be seen in this link:

"Adding Termination Characters to VISA Serial Writes in LabVIEW"
Interesting would be to configure the serial port to accept not one but two termination characters. The above links refers to the document "Developer Zone Tutorial: Termination Characters in NI-VISA.", where this is supposed to be possible. The document however is 404'ed.
If someone find a working link please post it.

  • Help! Battery with red slash appears when I plug in charger!

This past weekend I woke up to find my blackberry unresponsive with a battery icon with a slash through it. I fiddled with it and took out hte battery a couple of times and it came on normally. Monday I plugged it in to charge and same thing. Tonight, knowing what evil would probably happen, I plugged in the charger and bam. battery with slash again. This time the battery was just about dead before putting on the charger but the other times it was about mid charge. Is it dead for good this time and should I just go suck it up and buy a cheap replacement? hah Phone will be a year old next month.

This is happening because of your bettrey. I would recommand you to buy an original RIM accessories. But before doing so what you can do is get a similer battery from your friends or peer to check your device condition.

  • Torch 9800 battery with red X

hi i have a 9800 torch when i place the phone on charge, the red led light turns on 4 like 10seconds then turns off thereafter a battery sign with a red x appears over it, i have tried another battery with no luck.i have connected it to a pc and the pc detects the phone and pin.im not sure if its hardware or software, tried to upgrade software but the phone disconnects at the "reconnecting to RVM" part. PLZ HELP

Leave the device to charge 2-3 hours, and then, still connected to the charging cable, remove the the battery from the device a few seconds and reinsert it. If it boots--leave it to charge to 100% (check Options > Status for the percentage). If it doesn't reboot on the first attempt, leave it several more hours. I've had one charge for two days before it came back to life after an extreme battery depletion. Every 3-4 hours, with the device still connected to the charger, you can remove and replace the battery to see if it reboots.
If it doesn't boot--try using another wall outlet charger or just another wall outlet. If you are connected via USB to the PC, make certain that you have Desktop Manager (or the USB device drivers) installed.
Make certain your USB cable is connected to one of the PC's main rear USB ports. Not a USB hub, nor a monitor USB port, nor a USB port on the front of the PC.

  • Battery with Red X

Hi, I was charging my phone and all of the sudden it turned of and appeared on the screen a battery with a Red X on it. I tried changing the charger, the battery, dropping it ( like some people said that worked) and it does not turn on and does not charge either. What should I do? I wanted to contat BB, but it seems that they don't have a phone. Please HELP!! Thanks!!!

Calling that number will not help you.  It's either not a BlackBerry number, or they won't answer with a live person.  The only way you talk to RIM for support free of charge is by your carrier escalating your situation to RIM.  In order to do that, you first have to call your carrier for support.  If they can't help you, you can then request that they escalate your problem directly to RIM.
Let us know if you have any other questions.

  • The dreaded battery with red line (battery not detected)

I've tried everything I can find to fix this problem...  a little while ago, I was writing a text message when my 8900 decided to reboot.  When it came back, all that was on the screen (and all I've seen since) is the battery with a red line through it.  I've done battery pulls, charded for more than a day using both USB and directly into a wall... I tried to wipe and reinstall but have been unable to complete the procedure (symbol reappears part way through)....  anyone out there have anything else I can try?  Here is a bit more about the attempt to wipe and reinstall the OS:
Downloaded and ran JL_Cmder, was unsuccesful, it wouldn't connect to the phone.  Ran AppLoader from command prompt, finally able to get it to connect to the phone by unpluging from the usb, removing and replacing the battery and plugging back in immediately as the red light came on.  Got through removal of applications and instal oif JVM and system files, on the step where it waits for the device to initialize, it stops and the battery/line comes back on the screen....
any further thoughts/advice are greatly apprecaited.
    Thanks
    Chris

  • White screen with battery with red line across- software issue

My phone froze last week when I plugged it in for the night. The battery had been dying pretty quickly for the 2 weeks before that. So i took out the battery and put it back in and then this white screen appeared with a battery and a red line across. I replaced the battery and it still gives me the same message. I tried pluggin the fone into the computer and reloading the software from the blackberry site and still nothing. The computer is not even registering that the fone is plugged in. Help please! I am running out of ideas!

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

The OEM Rim battery colors are as follows:  8830 is lime green, 8330 is dark blue, 8130 is orange.  You cannot mix these batteries, they are not interchangable.

  • 8703e shows Battery with Red Slash, does nothing else

I've had a 8703e on Verizon service for about 20 months. Currently, upon inserting battery status light shows red for only a few seconds and then the device only shows white screen with a battery icon with a Red Slash through it. No response to pressing any buttons (other than CAP-ALT-DEL), including On/Off. (Note: I can attempt to post image of screen if required.)
Earlier in the day, I used the phone for about a 30 minute conversation, then enabled my Bluetooth hands-free device for drive home. About an hour later I turned off my hands-free device and left the phone in my jacket pocket while at the gym. After another hour when I checked for my messages, I only had the screen described above.
I've tried: 30sec battery removal w/ no USB, 60 minute battery removal w/ no USB, also tried CAP-ALT-DEL to reset. None of these have resolved this situation.
I usually charge device nightly and do not have linked to an e-mail service. I basically use device for phone, address book and note-taking. I do leave Bluetooth-detect enabled to connect to my hands-free device.
Request assistance in resolving this issue. Would like to know if device can be recovered/is still usable and/or if all files/address book data will be lost with any suggested solution (fear it's gone already).
Thanks in advance. I appreciate you assistance.

  • Color LaserJet CP1518ni blue print with red shadows, help !

Blue text prints with a red shadow on the right side of the page only.  There is no magenta in the blue.  All other colors print fine.  I have tried a new magenta cartridge and it was the same.  All cartridges are OEM.  I updated the firmware and it did not help.  Calibrted and cleaned many times.  Any ideas?

I have a similar issue with a Laserjet cp1525nw, it was mostly corrected by removing and reseating the toner cartridges.

  • Frozen up screen with an icon of a battery with a red slash thru it??

I've never seen this one before. Out of the blue, my screen goes kinda dim and pic of a battery with red line stoking through it (kind of like a no smoking sign). It's frozen....no buttons do anything.
I've taken the batter out and re-inserted it, plugged in the charger....nothing works. What's going on here? Any ideas?
    Thanks
    Granton

The device doesn't recognize the battery as being inserted, OR more likely sees no charge on the battery.
Leave the device to charge 2-3 hours, and then, still connected to the USB cable, remove the the battery from the device a few seconds and reinsert it. If it boots--leave it to charge to 100% (check Options > Status for the percentage).
If it doesn't boot--try using a wall outlet charger if you are not. If you are connected via USB to the PC, make certain that you have Desktop Manager (or the USB device drivers) installed, which you can download below.
Make certain your USB cable is connected to one of the PC's main rear USB ports. Not a USB hub, nor a monitor USB port, nor a USB port on the front of the PC.
