BB 10 OS update, Can't install it whatever I do...

I get a notification every few days in my BB hub saying there's a software update to install: Blackberry 10 OS update, version 10.2.1.2977.
It's been happening for months now, but whatever I do I can't install it! When I start trying to install it, it'll say 'please free up 0KB MB of space to continue' Then I press resume becuase obviously I don't need to do anything to free '0KB' but then it says 'please free up 1182MB of space...' and everytime I press resume it tells me a completely different ammount to free up! I've tried even completly backing up then clearing off my phone my entire device data, pictures etc, uninstalled my apps etc and still the same thing!
This is so annoying becuase my phone obviously needs the update as it's started malfunctioning and I can't access my pictures etc now :/
thanks

Hello,
I recommend you abandon the attempt of the OTA update wizard and instead try, in the following order, these methods:

LINK:
http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-10-Functions-and/How-to-Reload-your-Blackberry10-O...
AutoLoader:
http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-10-OS-Device-Software/Upgrading-OS10-devices-using...
Indeed, given what you describe, an AutoLoader might be your best bet...just be sure you have a COMPLETE backup of your device, including a manual copy of all of your data (pictures, etc.) as well as full documentation of how you like it configured, all of your passwords, etc. etc. etc.
Good luck and let us know!

  • 10.8.2 update: can't install "error occurred while evaluating Javascript for the package"

    Greetings All-
I'm trying to update from 10.8.1 to 10.8.2 on my Macbook Air. When I downloaded the .dmg from Apple and ran it, I got the following error:
"OS X Update Can't be installed on this disk. An error occurred while evaluating JavaScript for the package."
So far, I've done the following, all to no avail:
    (1) Updated Java to v7 per Java's website, no change
    (2) Downloaded the 10.8.2 combo update, no change
    (3) Found Apple's OS X Java update (which is still at v6)- get an error at install that "the contents of the disk can't be changed"
    (4) Restarted at each step
Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas?
    Thanks!

    Permission repair, too?

  • After updating, can I install older version on my second computer?

Updated to Elements 12.  Can I install older version 9 to a second computer so that two projects can be worked on at the same time?

    Yes.
All Adobe software can be installed and activated on a maximum of two computers. That means you can also install PSE12 on the second computer, provided the second computer meets the technical requirements to run PSE12
    http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop-elements/tech-specs.html
PS no need to install PSE9 on a new computer first. Just install PSE12, enter the PSE12 upgrade serial number then enter the PSE9 serial number when prompted.

  • ITunes update can not install due to Apple Software Update

When i download the newest edition of iTunes it saves to my desktop. Then i double click it, it asks me the usual (where i want the files installed to etc) then it seems to update, but near the end, it says "The Older version of AppleSoftwareUpdate cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group"
I have tried uninstalling iTunes and installing a fresh copy. It would not let me install, i have tried deleting the entire program files by uninstalling, deleting all files and erasing iTunes from the registry. Also to no avail. i am now stuck with itunes 7.3 which i copied from another computer.
    Can someone please help?

+near the end, it says "The Older version of AppleSoftwareUpdate cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group"+
First head into your Add/Remove programs control panel, find the "Apple Software Update" entry, and then attempt to remove it.
If Add/Remove won't let you uninstall it, or you can't find it in there, or if Add/Remove lets you remove it but you still get the same message on an iTunes install, download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility:
Description of the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility
Launch the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"), find "Apple Software Update" in the list of programs in CleanUp, select the Apple Software Update entry, and then click "remove".
Now restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • 9360, crashes before app updates can be installed.

Ok. ive had this problem since day one. when i try to update my apps, i click on the app i want updated. i then click on update. the update begins to download, and everything is fine. but when the update is finished it does not install. instead, as soon as it is downloaded i will get a loading icon in the middle of my screen then my blackberry turns off and reboots. this happens with every app, and also happens when i check for OS updates. please help.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
While the above advice may well be your recommended course of action, I believe further information is needed before deducing that path...
    1) Exactly what method are you attempting to update these apps? AppWorld? The Desktop Software? Some other means?
    2) Have you performed a proper batt-pull reboot (power ON, remove battery, wait, insert battery, wait) of your BB? And, if your PC is involved, a reboot of that as well?
    3) From your description, it sounds as if your BB reboots twice...is that what you mean by that first "loading icon in the middle" of your screen"? Is that the normal rebooting loading progress bar? Or is that some other icon?
If indeed you deduce that your OS has become corrupt, then a clean reload would indeed be in order. Here's a process:
At the top of each device forum, there should be some "sticky" threads that discuss the OS levels available for many models. If they include your model, then please use those as reference as you proceed. Otherwise, you will have to dig through the official download portal for OS packages for your model:
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
From a PC, you can install any compatible (e.g., for your exact BB Model Number) OS package to a BB via this procedure:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Device-Software/How-To-Reload-Your-Operating-Syste...
Note that while written for "reload" and the Storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or reload any BB device model -- it all depends on the OS package you download and install to your PC. If that OS package is from a carrier other than the carrier for which your BB was originally manufactured, then delete, on your PC, all copies of VENDOR.XML...there will be at least one, and perhaps 2, and they will be located in or similarly to (it changes based on your Windows version) these folders:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    C:\Users\(your Windows UserName)\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
Be sure that you remove, from your PC, any other BB device OS packages as having more than one installed to the PC can cause conflicts with this procedure.
You may also want to investigate the use of BBSAK (bbsak.org) to perform the wipe it is capable of.
You may also want to try this procedure to perhaps narrow down the precise causal item:
Load your OS "bare bones"...if anything is optional, do not install it.
If the behavior presents immediately, then try a different OS with step 1
If the behavior does not immediately present, then run for as long as it takes for you to be sure that the behavior will not present.
Add one thing -- no matter how tempting, just one.
If the behavior does not present immediately, then again run for long enough to be sure it will not have the same problem
Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all things are loaded or the behavior presents
When the behavior presents, you know the culprit...the last thing you loaded.
If the behavior does not re-present, then you know that either step 1 or 2 cured it.
If the behavior presents no matter what, then you likely have a hardware level issue for which no amount of OS or software can cure.
If you are on MAC, you are limited to only your carriers sanctioned OS packages...but can still use any levels that they currently sanction. See this procedure:

I have tried several methods to uninstall old itunes, as it would not recognise my new ipod, or the cd configuration folder, which I have found but do not know where to put it! I have itunes on dell pc with wondows 7 .
When I try  to install the new itunes I get this message- The feature that you are trying to use is ona network that is unavailable
Click ok to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package itunes 64.msi in the box below.
I havw read other questions similiar to my problem, have tried to do the pc clean up etc, not worked, even went and hide all diable on the control panel for word.
I have no idea what I am doing, just want to uninstall the old itunes and put new one on. Please help , hoping bnoir can sort this problem for me, thanks!

I followed the link that you posted on previous question, but they program had moved and redirected me to some other ones, got all confused I did not get a windows installer clean up, did not pay to complete the repairs.
The Major Geeks download locations still work. (Just checked myself.) Just in case you've been looking at old instructions, here's a copy of my most recent instructions.
    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Cluster Aware Updating - can't install cluster role

Looking for some assistance with enabling cluster aware updating. I currently have an 8-node cluster for Hyper-V running Windows Server 2012 R2. While trying to enable Cluster Aware Updating, it fails on the actual creation of the cluster role and I receive
    the following error message:
There are no more endpoints available from the endpoint mapper.
I'm not seeing any other information in event viewer, etc. that I can use to troubleshoot this. Has anyone come across this before? Thanks.

Eventually found my own solution. I was receiving that error because the Windows Firewall service was turned off on all cluster members. After enabling the Windows Firewall service, I was able to get past the error message.

  • Mac OS X Update can't be installed

I am trying to update Mac OS X for my computer (from 10.4.6 to 10.4.8), but I keep getting an error message saying:
"The update 'Mac OS X Update Combined (PowerPC)' can't be installed.
    Sorry, an unexpected error occurred.
The installer package has been moved to the Trash. To try again, open the package from the finder."
There have also been problems in the past with installing other programs.
    Has anyone encountered this problem?

    Hi Jenny,
Did you repair permissions before trying to install the update?
There may be a problem with the hard drive's directory that needs repair. Put the install disk in the drive and start while holding down the "c" key. Once started, select Disk utility from the menu, click on the hard drive on the left and then click Repair Disk.
If Software Update can't install it, go to the Downloads area of S the Support site and download the Combined updater for 10.4.8 and install it outside of Software Update.

  • HT4623 How can i install ios if i can't find software update in my ipad ?

    Dear Sir,
How can i install ios if i can't find software update in my ipad ? No software appear after i go to General = ??
    Thanks.

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.0.1. For the iPad Mini the iOS is 6.0.2. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily.  Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).
Tip 2 - If you're updating via wifi, place your iPad close to your router to preclude getting a corrupted download.
