BB 8530 boot-cycle

Hi,
I just had this new BB 8530 for a few hours from the Verizon store. I love it and it seems have a lot better than my old BB 8330.
Got home, I plug the BB 8530 to the computer, using BB Desktop Manager to transfer my contacts and calendar, then it just kept on booting for hours and hours....
Please help.

If your BlackBerry stays powered off with a black screen, follow the instructions below. The only indication of life might be the blinking red LED light in the top corner. Nothing seems to wake it up and Desktop Manager doesn't recognize any device is connected.
1) Make sure you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed.
http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/
2) On your PC, go to Start > Run and copy and paste the following line exactly (meaning with the quotation marks):
"c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader\loader.exe" /nojvm
3) The Application Loader Wizard will appear -- click "Next."
4) In the "Connection:" drop-down menu, you might see "USB-PIN: UNKNOWN". Click the "Next" button.
5) You should then see a list of applications ready to be installed for your Blackberry. Hit Next and Finish and you are well on your way to getting your Blackberry back to life. Hopefully this will fix your problem.
NOTE: If you do not see a list of applications mentioned in step 5 and instead see the message "The Blackberry Desktop Software does not have Blackberry Device Software for the device that you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator," then you must download Blackberry's Operating System for your carrier and device.
http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/BlackBerry_Operating_System_Downloads
Just select the appropriate carrier and network type, select your Blackberry model from the list and download the latest version. Install this download and follow the above steps again and you should be on the right path.

Is there a way to fix this?

Can you enter the following command in Terminal and post the result here?
Command is "ls -al" (it's the "L" letter in "ls" and "-al"), then press Enter.
Additionally, you can enter the following commands in Terminal (press Enter after each one):
    sudo chown root:admin /
    sudo kextcache -system-prelinked-kernel
    sudo kextcache -system-caches

  • Ipad 2 gets stuck in a boot cycle

2 weeks ago, i left my ipad 2 to go to bed. when i woke up, the device had turned itself off. it was about 90% charged before i went to bed. upon attempting to turn it back on in the morning, the apple logo screen was reached and then some white text similar to cmd text appeared on the side of the screen. The text said something about NAND driver, memory= 0 and some other things i didnt catch. the device then restarted and got to the same screen again, before continuing to restart and display that screen.
I attempted to restore the ipad via itunes (latest version) in restore mode and DFU mode. Each time i got the error 1611. Reading the error codes, i uninstalled my antivirus and itunes and reinstalled itunes. i then ran itunes in windows 7 compatibility mode as administrator. I still got the error.
I took the device to my friends house who tried to restore it, in restore mode in a usb 2.0 port but got the error 1613 i think. After this we tried restore mode and DFU mode in a 3.0 port. these both failed and gave error 21. looking at this code, we then used DFU mode in the 2.0 port and the device restored and updated from ios 5.3 to 6.1.2.
the device has worked fine for 2 weeks up until today when midway through a game, it turned off and i get stuck in the same boot cycle again.
what could be wrong with it and what can be done? the device is refurbished and within its 1 year warranty.

I just can't think of any other software fixes that might work since you have done everything imaginable and recommended by Apple - at least to the best of my knowledge.
There is one sort of off the wall thing that you can try, but frankly, I don't think that it will make any difference at all. I have read here in the forum to let the iPad battery totally drain until it shuts off, recharge the battery for about a half an hour, and then try restoring again. I don't know if this is an urban legend, or if it really works. I don't see what difference that would make anyway other than you would be restoring the software after letting the battery drain.
You have restored the iOS and downloaded it again using DFU mode and that hasn't worked. My assumption would be that there has to be some hardware issue going on. A faulty connection inside the device, a bad chip.... Something non software related.

  • N900 Boot Cycle Issue

Hello everyone, my name is samantha and I just bought a new Nokia n900, it seemed a really nice phone with a very large potential, however I ran into a booting issue, the phone itself doesn't randomly reboot while I'm using application, as in other cases that I've been reading, but when I normally shut it down, I give it some time, and try to turn it on again, instead of a normal booting like this:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HorA_H8TKdo
It repeats the cycle some times, for instance the first Nokia screen shows, then the dots, then a black screen, the the first Nokia Screen again, just like If I had just turned it on, and it will repeat a few times, and then eventually it will turn on.
Does anyone knows if this is an issue in the hardware?
Because I already read tutorials and flashed the emmc and the OS to the latest version, and it still doing it with the factory settings, no custom applications, etc.
I just turn it on after a full flash, use it a bit, such as taking pictures, playing chess, and then when I turn it off and try to turn back on, that strande boot cycle happns.

a reflash didn't fix it, so its probably a hardware issue, try raking it to a nokia repair center.

  • Hp pavilion a6200n boot cycling

im having problems where the computer goes through a strange boot cycle
a friend sent in their a6200n to me to fix because the comp freezes up (its using all the ram available)
i add 2 ram chips to it and the comp now wont get very far past the bios (as soon as i select an option to start the computer normally or otherwise it resets)
i removed one new ram chip after trying multiple patterns with all four chips in the four slots (old, old, new, new; new, old, new, old; and so on) and tried booting the comp that way. i got all the way to the login screen before the blue screen of death showed up
if i was at my old job id try the power, reset the motherboard, and so on just going down our checklist of steps but i no longer have the tools and thus the luxury to do so so can you please tell me what is the most likely to check next?

    Hi eprice809,
Since you are out of warranty and you believe it is a mechanical problem (power button), have a local, reputable PC sales and service shop take a look.
If you are handy you may want to open the case and remove the front bezel after powering off and removing the PC's power plug from the AC power outlet. Please ground yourself prior to touching internal components. Check wiring connections on the power button and the motherboard. The problem could be mechanical or electrical. Be careful, motherboard voltages are lethal!
HP introduced this model in 2007. I doubt if you could find an HP replacement part using HP's Part Store or Partsurfer.

  • Re-boot cycle with new opty 175?

Iv already posted in this thread https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=101539.40 but its been a couple of weeks since anyone has made a post so thought I would repost here, sorry if this is wrong way to do it.
I installed my new Opty 175, It recognised OK in my system. ACPI MultiProcessor PC with both cores reported under CPU in Device manager, Task Manager showing 2 graphs for both cores, all looks good so far.
Installed the MS Hotfix (never done the PerfEnablePackageIdle registry edit, is this maybe a problem?) then the AMD Optimiser, everything still looking good.
    Quote
    install Dual Core HotFix V4 --> https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=103843.0
    reboot.
install Dual Core Optimizer --> http://www.amd.com/us-en/assets/content_type/utilities/Setup.exe
reboot, re-test. (check it from device manager:
This is the order I installed the fixes, as per BOSSMANS instructions.
I cant see the MS hotfix KB896256 in ADD/REMOVE programs??
    AMD fix is there though.
My Problem is the same as mremulator's described in this thread https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=101922.0
    Quote
No No No, the dual core optimiser and MS Hotfix are NOT compatible.
I made the mistake of installing the two and Windows XP would reboot at desktop. AMD have confirmed this.
I have the desktop reboot problem, though not all the time. Seems to be when I've been in the BIOS (no changes made) or recently I ran Memtest for 16 passes (no errors) and rebooted to the reboot cycle again.
I was thinking of just doing a re-install but after reading the above thread it looks like I will have the same problem after installing both dual core fixes?
I have a Ghost Image of my upgrade before the Dual Core fixes where installed and was thinking of going back to this to try again to fix the reboot cycle problem, will this be a good Idea?
Also, any ideas as to whay the MS Hotfix doesnt show in ADD/REMOVE programs? (show updates is ticked)
Can someone please give me a clear route to Installing the fixes (if they are applicable), and if the registry edit for the MS Hotfix is needed???
    Any help is much appreciated
    g2k.

Right, I've been at this for nearly 4 hours now.
I've done all below and this is MY findings:
    1. Restored my Ghost image (which was made prior to installing any fixes, just the CPU installed)
    2. Installed the "AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual Core Processor Driver for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 Version (x86 and x64 exe) 1.3.2.16" software.
    3. Installed the MS Hotfix KB896256, then done testing with the reg files supplied by BOSSKILLER, plus the boot.ini edit (with both  "/NoExecute=OptIn"
and "/EXECUTE", absolutely no difference with either).
Done a few reboots, messing around in BIOS, just looking - no changes. All fine when booting up. Happy with that I chose the enable reg entry and saved this as my default.
    4. Installed AMD Optimiser, reboot straight to windows = OK
reboot to BIOS and mess around looking at the settings (no changes), reboot and when windows loads - instant reboot and back into my reboot cycle!
continued to mess around rebooting and into BIOS and finaly had to F8 to load the "Last good config that worked" on the list.
    5. Uninstalled AMD Optimiser, repeated all the rebooting and BIOS messing around, I CANT get the system to get the reboot cycle error at all now
My conclusion is - dont install the AMD Optimiser! Also I agree with mremulator in this thread: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=101922.0
Im using only the MS hotfix with the enabled reg key and its fine like that, installing the AMD one made absolutely no difference for me apart from the reboot problem.
I understand people dont have this problem running both fixes, just thought I would post my findings incase anyone else ran into similar problem as me.
    @ BOSSKILLER
can you tell me what the difference is between the BOOT.INI edits " "/NoExecute=OptIn" and /EXECUTE" please??
Also, many thnx for all your help
    nice one
    g2k.

  • IPad stuck in boot cycle

    Hi
My iPad will boot, show the boot text then the apple logo and then gets stuck in the same cycle. I have tried to hold the home button as I connect the cable to it as per the recovery instructions.
    Can you help
    Thanks.

    Hi sspencer18,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! I understand that when you turn on your iPad it shows the Apple logo and does not progress past that. I think you are on the right track trying to restore the iPad with iTunes. There are some specific steps to get the iPad into recovery mode though. Make sure the iPad is turned completely off before you hold the home button and connect to iTunes. Please use the following article for reference.

  • Z68MA-G45 (B3) Boot cycle

So i bought a brand new config and it seems my motherboard is broken (it works for 4 seconds then stops for 10 and cycles that way forever)
    My config:
    MSI Z68MA-G45 (B3) Motherboard
PNY Nvidia GTX 560 Ti GPU
    Intel Core i5 2450P CPU
    Akasa venom power 750W PSU
    G-Skill Ripjaws 2*4Gb 12800 RAM
    Advance Kappa Box
    No OS (MB never worked)
Razer mouse and keyboard (probably irrelevant)
I tried almost everything, did a CMOS reset, tried with only one stick of RAM, re-mount everything again just in case, nothing worked, it's always stuck in a boot loop so i'm in desperate need of a solution here.
I looked a bit on the forums here and on the internet but didn't found anything useful so far.
Thank you for any help you will provide,
    Elril

The vendor is not going to know what BIOS is on the MB without opening the box and looking at the BIOS chip himself, that's not something that's normally done. The CPU is supported with the proper BIOS so under normal circumstances he wouldn't know about the BIOS one way or the other, all he's going to do is pull the box off a shelf and sell it. The MBs don't all have the same BIOS anyway as the later they come from the factory the later BIOS will be on it.
You can do as HU16E said or buy a Celeron G440 (about $40-$45 USD) and use it to run the system to flash the BIOS yourself.
You can download the BIOS from the same place as in the CPU support link in Ron's reply.

  • NF750 G-55 boot-cycles

First, props to MSI customer service.  They've been very helpful with RMA issues, but I'm still dealing with board problems.  I originally purchased this board back in March.  Started having problems about two months after purchase, RMA'd it for replacement, which lasted a month or so.  RMA'd that one, just got it's replacement today.
Installed it, made all connections and it just power-cycles.  I called tech support, they had me remove it from the case, remove all connections except 24 pin and 4 pin power and CPU fan.  I also reseated the CPU and CPU fan.  All memory has been removed.  (No other connections to board- no video, keyboard, network, nothing.)  Board still power cycles- turns on, runs for 2-3 seconds, then shuts off, restarts after about a second.  Tried a second power supply, condition persists.  I have a call in to tech support but I think they've left for the day.
Any thoughts?  I really like the board, just would really like to get my system back up and running again.
    Thanks,
    Greg

  • Endless boot cycle

Hi and thanks for any help... So my 18 month old machine here will not stay powered up. I was having no problems with anything, changed nothing, no overclocking. Now, when I try to power up, the system comes on for about 2 seconds, then shuts down. 5 seconds later, it tries to power up again, the shuts off after 2 seconds. It will do this forever if I let it and will not boot under any circumstances..
I have tried cleaning and reseating every connection. The computer does not see to be overheating. Tried restting CMOS. Initially was able to boot eventually after 25 or more power up attempts and I reinstall Vista but it didn't help. Now it will not boot at all. Tried a new hard drive, didn't help. My PSU is not overloaded. I have nothing but a keyboard and monitor attached currently. Any ideas? Someone's opinion was that the mobo is fried, but I'd love any expert opinion to verify this... Thank you!

What you want is PSU with high amps on +12V single rail. As you can see the CX400W has 30A which is very good for 400W. It's not the watts that matter, it's the +12V amps. Ignore the watts. There are some even cheaper 430-480W PSU's that only have 17-18A on a single +12V rail. I have an Ultra 800W w/4 +12V 20A rails and on a P45 Platinum, Q6600 and 250GTS it died with blown capacitors but was OK with a 9600GT before the VGA change. I have a Corsair VX450W and a TX650 and expect those to last me for a long time to come, maybe even till I drop dead .

  • C220 M3 problem ( Boot Cycle at "config...Screen)

    Hi Pro
UCS C220 M3 now Bootig at "Config..." Screen  and cycle  ;but the CIMC is OK can access from web

    Hi Jalen,
If your server keeps looping at the configuration screen most likely the bios is corrupted and you need to recover it.
See the documentation to help you recover the corrupted BIOS. I would suggest that you try procedure 2.
Using the BIOS Recovery Header J41
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/unified_computing/ucs/c/hw/C220/install/C220/install.html#pgfId-1416982
To get the recovery.cap file you need to download the HUU of the current version installed on your server (you can find this version from the cimc) and extract the iso.   For example for the HUU version 1.5(7e) the recover file is located in the following location
    ucs-c220-huu-1.5.7e\C220M3-1.5.7e\1.5.7e\bios\recovery

This may not give you any more information, but you might try booting into "verbose" mode

  • MSI P67A-GD53 (B3) in boot cycle before POST

OK, so I purchased a new Motherboard, CPU and RAM today to complete my upgrade. Having installed everything, I hit the power button, machine turns on... then off after about 4 seconds, before POST, then on again, then off again, repeat ad nauseum until I unplug or flick the power switch on the PSU.
I took everything apart again, put the MB onto of the box (to rule out the chances of it shorting on the case) and plugged in the power, with just the CPU (and fan) and RAM in place. Same thing happens. Tried taking out the RAM, exact same thing.
Nothing has been done to any part yet, this is all out of box spec:
    MSI P67A-GD53 (B3)
    Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9  (CMX4GX3M2A1600C9)
    Enermax ELT620AWT  +3.3V@28A, +5V@32A, +12V1@22A, +12V2@22A, [email protected], +5VSB@3A
    Intel i5 2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155
Obviously I've got graphics card, HDDs etc, but none of those are plugged in, for the purposes of troubleshooting. All that's connected is the above. I've tried booting with no RAM installed, same thing happens. I've got access to an old internal 2 pin speaker, scavenged from a buggered HP work PC to try and get a beep code, but I can't see where I'd connect it on this MB.
Is the MB fluffed out of the box, or could it be something else? Any help would be greatly appreciated

It needs to be connected to the JFP2-Pin Header (check user manual, page 2-14 for pin definitions).
Just to make sure:  Have you connected the 4/8 pin +12V CPU power connector to the mainboard (in addition to the 24-Pin ATX connector)?
Also:  Have you unplugged your PSU from A/C power and >>Cleared CMOS<< at any point?
Have you inspected the board's CPU socket for bent/broken pins?
Thanks, I'll give that a try.
    Yep
    Yep
I've eye-balled it but they're pretty small, so it's hard to tell, but it'd be pretty difficult to bend them as the CPU only fits in one way.

All four sticks will boot properly if they're placed in the 2 and 4 slot, but once I add the other two the system refuses to boot up, doesn't even get to POST before restarting itself.
