BB 8900 Upgraded lost all the data
Hi,
I have just upgraded my BB 8900 to OS 5.0 for the first time and inadvertently backup was not taken, i have lost all my data including huge contacts information. Can someone help me urgently........ i m in a big mess

To be honest if the back-up has not been done, and there is no previous back-up, the data is unretrievable. Pictures, music etc should automatically save to the media card and may still be there.
If you have backed up previously you can restore the handset from that backup however any changes or additions to your data since the last backup will not be restored to the handset.

Only possible if you have made an iTune or iCloud backup before the update.

Your content will only be where you put it. It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.
You can transfer itunes purchases from your iphone: File>Device>Transfer purchases.
You can import your pics taken with the iphone as you would with any digital camera.
You can e-mail the other pics to yourself, they will never be of the original quality.
You can out a unique contact and calendar entry on the computer. You should get the option to merge the data when you sync. -
i have update and restore my wife iphone to 7.0.4 and i lost all the data what to do now? all contacts and kids photos goooone , we have the same apple ID and when i tried to restore from i cloude , i restored my contacts not her???!!!!!
Looks like you restored your backup file to her phone. If you didn't back up your wife's phone first, then the data is gone, sorry.

I cant seem to download and install the latest iphone software update. I have tried since the release and have been unsuccessful on more than 7 occasions and lost all the data on the process. Anyone have that problem an how do I fix this problem?

Thanks but I have tried doing the above - when I said 7 times I was modest, its more like 15 times.
And I am referring to the 5.1 software update. I dont have wifi so I guess I will have to try that seeing that my husband also has the same problem - he has also tried downloading several times. It always times out en says that the connection is lost but yet there are always an internet connection and a decent signal once it stopped. Think it said error 32052 or something!
I am disappointed because the update includes inprovement on the battery life - did you guys notice any difference? -

If your phone is in recovery mode, all data are gone. Connect the phone to iTunes on your computer and restore.

Adobe upgrade - lost all saved data on pdf form. Help?
I recently spent weeks completing and revising a very lengthy and important application form (pdf). Upon submitting it I was told that the data could not be viewed and that I needed to update my Adobe to the latest version (11). Upon doing this I lost all saved data on the pdf forms, I wasn't pre warned about this and am extremely dissapointed as it tooks me ages to find all the information and re-word it to a high standard. Is there any way that it can be recovered?
I thought it would be in my sent emails but that is blank as well. Help?If you used an earlier version of Reader before it would only have been possible to save the filled-in information in the file if a special right was applied to it by the authors, before you received it. If that right was not applied then you should have seen an error message saying that the file can't be saved with the data you entered.

When I synced the new phone, it gave me the icons for all the Apps but when I went to get on one it said I had never been there, the syc/restore did not give me all the data. I got pictures, but everything else is as if I just started. HELP

You can restore from your most recent backup. However, any data new to your iPhone since that backup is gone forever.

Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchases which can be transferred to a computer.

I am a new usuer of iPhone. I had some recordings and photos which were very important but I lost them all when I was trying to restore. I shouldn't have done that but without realizing I have important files there I choose that option.
I am very much worried now. I tried iCloud but only files which were backed up before 25th are there, not the one after that. I was traavelling so I assume that the files were not backed up but I got back on 25th and I had wifi connection so thought it might have backed up but can't find any of those files.
Is there any possiility to restore them?
Would very much appreciate your advice.- Go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices and look at the date(s) of the iPod backup(s). If one is before or at the very time you started the update, you can restore the iPod from that update.
- Make sure that all the apps ae in your iTunes library so the data has a place to go
- Also disable automatice syncing otherwise wehn yu connect the iPod to the computer Itunes will backup the iPod overwriting the previous backup. To turn off go to iTunes>Prefeences>Devices and check the box that says "Prevent Ipods....syncing".
By chance did you do the update on other than your syncing computer or were the apps not in the iTunes library? -

If you don't have a backup, then all your pics/text/notes are gone.
You can sync back music and app. If you were syncing your contacts with a program in itunes, then you'll get that back.
Not sure why you didn't do a backup, especially prior to doing an upgrade.
