  • Trying to link Address Book Contacts with Outlook 2011 - iSync??

    Hi There,
Would be grateful for some assistance.
I've got all my contacts and other things in iCloud - wonderful!
I've managed to get all my contacts from iCloud to show up in Address book.
I want to sync my address book contacts in Outlook 2011 - after three days of trying I'm still stuck.
I've checked the Syncing set up in Outlook, that appears to be correct.
I've checked addressbook, and other than having two folders one entitles iCloud (which has everything I need in it) and one entitled On my Mac, which has a couple of testers in it but nothing else, everything else seems fine.
I've checked that iCloud is synching into the iCloud folder in Address Book by putting some stuff on my iPhone and seeing it got pushed from the iCloud to my MacBook - all working fine there.
I have read lots of forum posts and keep seeing references to iSync, and how its on all Mac's but then I see people saying that its not on with Lion - I'm running Lion, and I can't find iSync...so this would seem to be true.
Can anyone tell me how I might achieve this sync process - I would much rather be using an integrated programme like Outlook...any thoughts

Enthusiast: I just got back from the Apple Store. This is the solution they suggested and seems to work. We got rid of iCloud contacts. We just set up Yahoo account in the "mail, contacts, calendars" of the iPhone. Under the "contacts" section we have the "default Account" set to Yahoo. When any additions/delete/mods happen then it is updated on Yahoo.
On the MacBook we deleted the "on My Computer" and deleted "iCloud" and then added the Yahoo account for synching. This is basically used as a secondary backup for the yahoo contact and used if using the computer. It is not necessary to use the computer for any of this.
I've been having lots of problems with Yahoo contacts. I had previously pulled in facebook contacts. This was NOT a good idea. I cleaned up my contacts, exported them out to CSV. Scrubbed some more. Imported them to a new yahoo account. Then deleted all contacts from my main Yahoo, permanently deleting them. Then imported my contacts. I did lose all my "lists" settings. That was a small price to pay.
Now iPhone, iPad and MacBook address book and Yahoo are all in sync.
I was shown at the store is to refresh the Yahoo webpage (CTRL R) and then refresh the contacts on the iPhone. There is a slight delay in update. iCloud is faster at it. But its best to avoid iCloud if you are using Yahoo contacts. Also avoid Facebook contacts. If you really want to use the Facebook feature, I would do it on a different account and then bring in the contacts that you want through an import.
I was having problems with Yahoo contacts and it might be that it was being flaky or they were experiencing problems ... because all of a sudden it started working again. I've seen similar problems with Yahoo Calendar.

  • Problems with outlook and address book contacts: my outlook contacts had around 3,000 entries. Outlook duplicated by itself and now outlook and address book have each over 340,000. What should I do?

Problems with outlook and address book contacts: my outlook contacts had around 3,000 entries. Outlook duplicated entries and have now 340,000. I reinstalled microsoft office and, thus, outlook, and reinstalled mac OS X system and applications. While I managed to delete outlook contacts so that I can re-sync with my blackberry, the contacts at Mac Address Book were not deleted and still have over 340,000 entries. I do not mind deleting all contacts since I have back up, but I have not been able to delete them. Also, when I go at Address Book and try to delete or merge duplicated entries, the system takes forever and never ends because of such large amount of entries. Worse, when I do so I run out of RAM memory.
My Macbook pro is just 2 months old.
What should I do? Is there a way to delete my Mac Address Book without having the problem above?
    Many thanks
    Regis

  • How do we transfer contacts and mails from apple mail and address book to Microsoft outlook on my mac

How do we transfer contacts and mails from apple mail and address book to Microsoft outlook on my mac

From Contacts, anyway (the new version of Address Book) you can export to a .abbu file and import then into Outlook. I'm not sure about Mail as I only really use Outlook...

  • Is Address book compatible with Outlook

    Hi,
I'm usine Msft Outlook at my office to handle emails. Is the Mac Address Book compatible with Outlook as for imports/exports so that I can update my contacts from office and vice versa?
    Thx
    Simon

    Hi,
Address Book "should" sync with an OWA server... I never got it to work, but some colleagues of mine do...
I (mis)use Entourage to do the syncing from time to time (hate the app though), and I also use AddressX from Snerdware to sync Exchange's GAL...

  • Exporting Address Book to MS Outlook

I need to export my Mac Address Book to Windows Outlook in the office and although I realise that each record can be exported as a vcard, is there any way I can export the entire address book in one go rather than individual records. I have many to do otherwise! Thank you, Barry

You need to use a converter along the lines of "vCard Converter for Outlook." Alternatively if you have Microsoft Entourage running on your Mac you can import your Address Book contacts to Entourage and then export as a tab-delimited file and extract the address information via Microsoft Excel for use in Outlook.

  • Synching Apple Address Book to Windows Outlook

My secretary, bless her heart, is still using Windows. When we want to update her Outlook address book so it matches my Apple Addres Book, we use Address Book Exporter and then have to map custom fields so everything transfers over to her properly.
We don't have a Microsoft Exchange server, but I'm wondering if MobileMe now offers us an easy way for me to transfer the contacts in my Apple Address Book to her Outlook.
    Yes? If so, how?

Did you ever get an answer to this question as I am interested in the response...thank you

  • I let apple update my iCloud on my pc - I lost my address book in my Outlook email program

I let Apple update my iCloud on my PC.  Now I cannot access or find my Address Book in my Outlook email progam - can anyone help me find my address book and get it activated in Outlook 2007?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > iTunes & App store, scroll down and tap your ID)
If you are using iMessages or FaceTime, you will also need to log out and into your ID there too.

  • Importing Address Book from Microsoft Outlook Express 5 for Mac (v5.02)

I just made the leap to a Mac Pro 8 Core from a 350MHz G3. I was running 10.3.9 on the G3, but I was still using the old Outlook mail program because I was comfortable with it. Now I can't figure out how to import the address book into Mail 3.3. I know I waited too long to buy a new computer, But I was able to do what I wanted to do with my old machine. (In fact, the G3 was six years old when I went from OS 9.2.2 to 10.3.9. It worked better with 10.3.9 than it did with all the other OS's I ran on it. Try THAT with a PC!!!) So if I'm hosed, I'm hosed, I can live with that, but I wanted to pick the collective brains of my fellow Mac community people before I threw in the towel.

    Sorry - its late
But you still should be able to export a CVS (Excel comma delimited file) - almost any address book can

  • Address Book link

A couple days ago, out of nowhere (unless someone who previously used the computer) a link to my address book appeared in my bookmark shortcuts (the bookmarks you see under the URL box)
I cant move it, delete it, right click it, it isnt in my bookmark organizer, and there are no links to my address' in it, I click it, and it says "No home pages in address book" and "Open address book" -so its completely useless.
how do you get rid of this option? I cant figure it out.

That's for the AutoFill information Hawaiian_Starman
I think the poster is after the bookmark weblinks toggle. That's under Safari Preferences -> Bookmarks -> Bookmarks Bar: Include Address Book (and similarly for the Bookmarks Menu if the option appears there too for you).

  • Address book file in outlook 2010 with exchange

    Dear Team,
previously we were using third party pop3 mailing solution. means we were fetching emails via pop server and sending emails through smtp.
and hence in every user's application data / microsoft / outlook folder one file was created with profile name of outlook account extension of file is .nk2. This is of offline address book.
Now we have migrated few users to online hybrid exchange. Accounts have been migrated to Exchange from pop3.
Now when we are typing new mail and typing someone's email ID it is not appearing. we have to type first time. previously it was happening. so please guide how can we make this nk2 file with exchange in individually.

    Hello,
You should ask in one of the following forums, depending on your version of Microsoft Exchange:
Exchange Server 2013 - Outlook, OWA, POP, and IMAP Clients
Exchange Previous Versions - Outlook, OWA, POP, and IMAP Clients

  • How to sync my Address Book and my Outlook contacts?

I am new to Mac.  A friend successfully transferred my Outlook contacts into my Address Book but if I make changes in one place (e.g., on Mac in Address Book or on iPhone in Outlook Contacts) they do not show up in the other - even after syncing.  Please help.  I need simple, basic instructions.

start by using iCloud support page and forum, realizing this isn't macbook pro area, and that some of it would be handled by iTunes and possible other softare you might get directed to in the iPhone Community.

  • Transfer contacts from Mac Address Book to PC Outlook

    Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knows how to transfer from Mac Address Book to Outlook on a PC? I have tried exporting the list as a .CSV, then importing it, however it only imported 1 contact, not the rest that were saved on the vcard. Your help is very much appreciated!!! Thanks
    Josh

Address Book does not export a .CSV file. I twill export a vCard file, however, by selecting all of your contacts from the contact list then drag it all to the Desktop. You will end up with a single file containing all the vCards in your AB database. Now, if your PC version of Outlook can import a vCard file then you're all done. If not, then you have some work ahead of you. You can find another PC mail application that can import vCards and export an Outlook compatible file or try one of the following:
    AddressBook to CSV Exporter
    Lustro
    vCard Exporter
    Export Address Book
Look for them at VersionTracker or MacUpdate.

  • Address Book to Microsoft Outlook

    Good evening all,
I have recently purchased Parallels Desktop to run windows on my MacBook Pro (Intel) and want to export all my contacts from Address Book to Outlook on Parallels. I have tried exporting my groups to vcards and transferring them over, however every time Outlook imports (or lack thereof) the card, only one contact from the group imports in. How do I get Outlook to recognize that there is more than just one contact included in the vcard stack?
    Many thanks.

It's possible that Outlook doesn't understand multiple contact vCards.
If that's the case, use vCard Splitter:
