BB Call Log erased itself off completely. (several times)

Several times my BB has erased my Call Log. Was told to turn off BB and remove the battery from BB for couple seconds. This is to reboot the BB. Then return the battery to BB. Usually when this happens my BB is "very slow" and every screen I go to is stuck on the "hour glass". Anyone else experienced this before? What is the fix for this or is it a requirement with BB to remove the battery once a month? Please any helpful response appreciated. Thanks in advance.

This is caused by the device having a low amount (or none at all) of memory. When the memory gets lower (lower than 12MB in some cases, although there is not a set number) the device will start deleting messages and/or call logs to conserve memory. You can check your available memory by going to Options > Status and checking the File Free parameter.
The quickest way to free up some memory is to perform a hard reset. Remove the battery from the device (while it is still powered on) for about 30 seconds, then reinsert. Also, look at the links below for ways to maximize the memory:

My Droid Incredible shuts itself off all the time.... when I am on a phone call, when its not being used, just whenever it feels like it. Is there any solution to get my Droid to stop shutting itself off?

I will PM you and I can review the account to see what options we have available.

    Turn it off.
Start it up again and (at the sound of the chime) press and hold the command and the R keys, hold them down until Recovery loads. When it does you will select Disk Utility and you should be on the First Aid tab when it opens, if you are not please select it. Then select the partition (in the side bar, 2nd entry on the list, see picture).
Yours is probably called Macintosh HD.
Once you have selected it go to the lower righthand corner of the First Aid dialog and press Repair Disk.
This will take 10 minutes approximately. Post back when it is finished and tell me what it says.

  • My iPhone 3GS keeps turning itself off all the time for no reason every time I put it on silent or just get a Facebook message I have a broken sleep/power button anyone know how to fix this problem?

My iPhone 3GS keeps turning itself off all the time the power/sleep button dosent work so it's quiet annoying having to plug it in all the time dose anyone have a fix for this?

The "fix" is to get the phone repaired.  There's no magic solution for a broken phone.
Bring your phone ant $149 to Apple for an out of warranty replacement, or find a 3rd party repair shop near you.

  • My iphone 4s shuts itself off all the time. starts normal and then shut it off and start all over again, what is wrong?

my iphone 4s shuts itself off all the time. starts normal and then shut it off and start all over again, what is wrong?

Your iPHone is designed by intention to shut off when there is a reason for the softwarer to believe that danger is immenent to the hardware. This can occurr if the software is running applications that have been corrupted due to all types of different scenarios. My best advice to you would be to restore your device back to default manufactures settings and do NOT restore the current backup of the IOS program currently running.
If this corrects the problem with your device intermittently restarting you will then know you have had applications there were corrupted on your device. Once you are convinced there are no issues with the hardware of your device you then are free to begin downloading software apps that were earlier on the device.
    Good luck.

  • HT4623 just updated my iPhone 4s to ios6, now my phone won't turn back on. The apple logo comes on and sits then shuts off. I have held down the home button and on/off switch several times to reset, but same problem persists.

just updated my iPhone 4s to ios6, now my phone won't turn back on. The apple logo comes on and sits then shuts off. Then comes back on and just sits.I have held down the home button and on/off switch several times to reset, but same problem persists.

Place iPhone on Wall Charger for at least 10 minutes. Then keep on charger and Reset, hold both home and power buttons until the iPhone begins to start, this can take about 20 seconds of holding both buttons while on charger. If still problem, open iTunes 10.7 on computer, connect iPhone to computer with USB Cable, hold both home and power buttons for about 20 seconds until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode, then click Restore button of iTunes. If still problem, try DFU Mode Restore, here are the steps. Open iTunes on computer. Connect iPhone to computer with USB cable. Hold both Home and Power buttons, after exactly 10 seconds release the Power Button, keep holding the Home button until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode, usually about 20 seconds time. If the iPhone screen is black, blank this is DFU Mode. Click the Restore button of iTunes. DFU Mode can be difficult to enter sometimes, just keep trying. DFU Mode is a black, blank screen with iTunes saying Recovery Mode. If still problem and there is Warranty or AppleCare make Genius reservation and take to Apple for resolution.

It pains me to hear about your experience with the Home Phone Connect.  This device usually works seamlessly and is a great alternative to a landline phone.  It sounds like we've done our fair share of work on your account here.  I'm going to go ahead and send you a Private Message so that we can access your account and review any open tickets for you.  I look forward to speaking with you.

  • Macbook Restarts itself at completely random times. Obtained log

My brand new macbook automatticly restarts at completely random times. I took it to the apple store and they weren't able to get the macbook to restart itself by having it run at 100% capacity. After the last restart I went straight to console and copied everything that was in there at the time of the crash. Here it is below. Also to note, this has happend both while off, and on the charger. And also not while running any specific programs. I MAY have been running safari through all these. But it has also always been while I was at the computer. If I were to leave it on, every single time I come back the programs would still be running.

  • U410turns itself off completely with a noise even when its cold.it has been to the guarantee 3x

Hi. I have purchased a lenovo ideaPad U410 last christmas in a PC world shop (UK), it was a gift to my father, and when we were setting up windows. it turned itself off. We had no time to give it  back to the shop because we were trying to enjoy our holidays abroad.  we have tried many times to check what the problem was, spending money with expensive technicians,  but nobody got it right. We have sent it to lenovo guarantee services in Spain (where I live) once. They said they had fixed it, but it came back with the same problem. Then I ´ve sent it again.... and guess what? It came back with the same problem.  (i have both papers to prove, i can send you a copy) We could NEVER use this lap top during the whole year.Everytime we tried, it turned itself off . Now I have finally sent it to the UK to see if they can fix it there, paid 50 euros for the package, but to be honest, I am completely fed up.My guarantee ends in the end of the year (christmas). I really hope you can give me a new lap top that works, or my 500 pounds back, so I can buy a new one to my father. This has been a nightmare, waste of time. the company MEDION AG has it now, and the product reference number is IDEAPADU410AMBLTXI33217U4G5248MGB . Please someone follow up with this case. Cheers.

Not normal. Take it to an Apple Store for evaluation.

  • Ive had my iphone 4s since 10th april and on three seperate occassions its switched itself off completely (whilst having battery) it then wont work for around 2 days, this is very annoying and I dont know what to do as its been out for around 12hours now

I don't know why my phone keeps switching itself off, I've never dropped it, had water damage nor any other damage to it. Ive had it for around 5 months or so now and it just likes to switch itself off for around 30-40 hours then work again as though nothing happened. Although this is great as it will eventually work its  very frustrating not knowing if it will switch on again.. at the minute my phone hasnt worked for about 10-12 hours. I went in to the apple shop and they said they couldnt see me for over a week as they were fully booked, I understand that theyre busy but surely they can't expect me to go without a phone/alarm/email for that time when I am paying for it. Does anyone have any help/advice they can offer? Thanks

    Standard troubleshooting...
    1. Try a Restart by pressing the sleep/lock button until you see the slider.  Slide to power off.  Restart by pressing the sleep/lock button until you see the Apple logo.
    2. Try a Reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider if it comes up. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
    3. Remove apps from Recently Used list...
    - From any Home Screen, double tap the home button to bring up the Recents List
    - Swipe up on the app preview card
    - Press the home button when done.
    4. If still a problem restore with your backup.
    5. If still a problem restore as new, i.e. without your backup. See how it runs with nothing synced to it.
    6. If still a problem, it's likely a hardware issue.

  • Why does my time machine backup turn itself off all the time?

This has happened to me several times that I notice that the icon on the menu bar is grayed out for the backup... I just noticed that again for the 10th time, and that the last backup was on December 30th, but I never turned off time machine.  I was wondering if this was a glich in the system?  Has anyone else has this problem? Never had it before till last year...
    Thanks!
    Miguel

what has happened before is I look at it and see that its grayed out and when I opend Prefs panel I see that the time Machine has been switched to OFF. Which is very wierd,  I was wondering if anyone has had this problem.  It just happened to me today, I saw that is was grayed out again, and looked the last backup was Dec 30th....
No, I've not seen that posted here before.
A clue may be lurking in your logs.  Use the widget in #A1 of  Time Machine - Troubleshooting to display the backup messages from your logs.  The widget may not go back to Dec 30, so you may have to use the Console app to look at your older logs, per the pink box there.
Either way, see if you can find the Dec 30 backup. If it says it completed successfully, look for the next attempt -- if so, copy and post all the messages here.
If not, keep an eye on it, and the next time it happens, the widget should show something that will help pin it down.

  • I have hp3210xi and it just stared to turn itself off after some time, did I do somthing to

hay body, I have hp3210xi all in one and it ws just fine and I had to install the printer on a computer and after I did this the printer just stared to turn itself off after it has ben on for awhile. my system is both win 7 and xp. thanks
    vhg.

i already rebooted it but it still wont turn back on, it shows me the apple logo, then it fades and it gets bright again intermitently...

  • Laptop just goes off sometimes several times a day. It has always been plugged into the wall.

This problem has been happening in the last several weeks. It has a cooler under it, but will do this even with the cooler on or off. Could the power source plug be getting bad????

Just taking a stab here but do you have IPv6 enabled? Many of us had a problem with our RG rebooting throughout the week when IPv6 was enabled (which is the default setting). Disabling IPv6 has resolved that issue for me and some others. If you are using the NVG-589, you can change this setting by going to Home Network menu, then Configure menu on the router.
