BB Curve 8310 keeps freezing

Hello BB World,
I am a BlackBerry Curve 8310 user. My phone was working greatly! All apps were runing nicely. But recently, I deleted a app named TTY by mistake . After that whenever I opened the camera app, my phone freezes! I didn't know why. Then I hard-reseted my phone. But that didn't work.
After googling, I downlaoded the BlackBerry desktop manager. I connected my device via USB. The suite detected my device and showed to me that "an update is available". So after following some steps, I updated my BB from 4.3.x. to 4.5.xxx
After that update my phone started to work normally
But today, I'm facing the same problem. This time I did nothing The camera app and camcoder app freezes everytime I open them
PLEASE GIVE ME A SOLUTION....
** The desktop manager can't detect my phone anymore after that update WTF!!!
** I have a 2GB microsd card where 1.3 GB is free
** I installed a theme, but that didn't work so I uninstalled it..
Please give me suggestions... I don't know what to do. The camera app was working a few hours ago :\
Thank you! Please pardon my bad english

TTY is hearing aid support. The phone may not function properly again. Try to reload your so via blackberry desktop software.

Why does my BB Curve 9300 keep freezing?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

The reason it's freezing all the time is you are out of application memory.
I recommend installing BlackBerry Desktop Software and making a full backup of the device. Then do a Security Wipe. You can do the wipe by going to Options and type security wipe in the search bar. Don't include the media card but include 3rd party apps. You can install those again later via BBWorld.
When it's done, you can restore only the databases you really need like email, calendar, contacts, etc.
When you're all done make sure that media is saved to the media card. I recommend getting a much bigger card so you have room for pictures and videos. You don't want that data saved on the device memory.

  • Curve 8520 keeps freezing and going to white screen

I recently had my curve replaced after the trackpad stopped working. Now my new curve keeps freezing when I'm on the internet, the screen will get white lines across it which gradually get bigger until the whole screen is white. A reboot doesn't work unless the phone is plugged into the charger and the problem never happens when the phone is on charge.
I've tried changing the browser settings so JavaScript isn't enabled, I've also reinstalled the software and finally decided to wipe my blackberry and restored it to the file i had saved from my old curve and I'm still getting the same problem.
I'm not sure whether it's linked to the battery as it also happens when making a call if the battery is low and when I reboot my curve after it's gone to a white screen the battery has usually dropped a few bars (usually from full to 2 bars)
If anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated!

Could someone please help me. I have a blackberry 8520 and I recently accidentally put ONLY the keypad in the water but luckily I read that you have to keep it in the sun for 24 hours and it worked, next my charger port broke of then I got it fixed but right after I got it fixed every time I fully charge my phone or it have 2 or more bars in like 10 or 7mins it freezes and their are these lines then it goes into a white screen. I took the battery and put the batter back in the phone worked fine but then the battery went from full to battery drained shutting down?!? What do I do??

  • Blackberry curve 8330 keeps freezing during messages

My curve keeps freezing while I'm sending text messages. It takes a little too long for the phone to go through the commands I tell it to once I send a message for instance: I press send but the screen freezes, but while frozen I press back key and then the mute key to lock it. It's still frozen. What do I do? I've reduced the memory and deleted unwanted applications.

Options > SMS > Number of previous items, set that lower to like 2 or 3
Then, With the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot.
Now see if that helps some.

  • My Blackberry Curve 8520 keeps freezing.

While trying to perform all the standard tasks on my Blackberry, it freezes for around 3 seconds, during this time it goes to white screen then flashes back on. This happens whenever I try to send a text, bbm or email, and also while searching Facebook and Twitter. I have restarted my phone on several occasions and taken the battery out. How can I stop this from happening?

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
That's a tricky one...it could be a badly behaving app, it could be a corrupt OS, it could be defective or damaged hardware, it could be a combination of things, or even other things that I've not yet thought of. If you really want to diagnose, the process I'd recommend is this:
    1) Reload your BB OS clean, as "bare bones" as possible (no themes, no add-on apps, nothing that is optional). If the behavior immediately presents, then your problem is likely hardware (though you might try an updated OS if available).
    2) Run for about a week -- long enough to be sure that the behavior will not appear.
    3) Add just one thing.
    4) Repeat steps 2 and 3 until the behavior appears, at which point you know the culprit (the last thing you added).
    5) If the behavior does not reappear, then you know it was a corrupt OS, and that as well was cured by step 1.
    Good luck!

  • Blackberry curve 8310 it keeps freezing

    dear sirs:
i have a blackberry curve 8310  v.45.0.108  latest os for my carrier, i use  8gb card  for my music and pics, still have free space (4.8gb ) on my media card and on my device have free space (568667 bytes), i use several third app like windows live messenger, gmail app, ubbertwitter, google maps, facebook , wordpress and others. I  have had problem when using my applications for example if  I surf some bookmarks it freezes, if  im on windows live messenger it freezes every single messages it freezes for 6 seconds and then i received a message and  when i want so write back it freezes again, this happens with any kind o im app. when using facebook it freezes while searching profiles and messages, when replying, it continually freezes and appears a clock that never disappears, also with ubbertwitter it freezes. its pretty annonying  i dont know what to do. please help me with this

    Hi tinkerbell.
Misunderstanding.  You DON"T want your File Free to get below 15 mb.  Pulling your battery will help reclaim your lost memory.  Also, actually closing apps when not using them will return some of that memory for the device to use.
There is also a free app called Quickpull that will do this without your having to actually pull the battery. Check it out here: Quickpull
You can even have Quckpull set to do an auto restart. I have mine set to restart every morning at 4:30 so my BB is refreshed and ready to go each day. Sometimes, however, a real battery pull seems to do an even better job such as when you have installed any 3rd party apps or when your BB just feels sluggish from prolonged use (like posting in these forums smileyhappy:.
I would also suggest doing a backup of your device (good idea to backup frequently anyway) and getting a clean uninstall of DTM
    Clean uninstall of DTM
And then installing DTM WITHOUT Media Manager.  This will help to remove the types of problems you are encountering with MM.  Saves from having a large download too.
Once you have that done that. Enable mass storage mode on your BB:  Go to options-media card and change settings so they read:
    Media Card Support: On
    Encryption Mode: None
    Mass Storage Mode Support: On
Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode wehn Connected: On
Then, when you connect your BB via usb (have DTM open before connecting) a windows explorer box will open showing your media card as a new drive on your pc.  Just drag 'n drop your music or pics to the card from your pc.  Very easy.
Let us know how it goes!

  • Curve 8310 Problems Syncing Outlook Calendar & Desktop Manager Freezing

Hi: I recently bought a Curve 8310. It has Desktop Manager version 4.2.2.14; my laptop has Vista Home Premium and I use Outlook 2007.
Just a day or two ago Desktop Manager started crashing while syncing Outlook Calendar. It stops at Calendar entry 76 and then freezes. From checking the Technical Solution Center I understand the problem may be a corrupt Calendar entry. Dealing with this apparently involves going into Configure Synchronization but Desktop Manager won't let me do this. If I start it when the phone is connected to my laptop it doesn't register the connection and often freezes. If I start it, then connect the phone, and stop the synchronization process before it crashes Manager, clicking on any of the Desktop Manager ikons, including Synchronize, doesn't have any effect. I've tried reinstalling Desktop Manager from the CD supplied by my phone provider but it's made no difference.
I'd be grateful for any advice; Before this problem developed I was really enjoying my BlackBurry.

    Hi,
First we need to do a clean reinstall of the software to makes sure all registry and files have been completely removed:
     Link 1.
Then we need too reinstall the 4.2 software, taking into account the Vista considerations for install:
    Link 2
After install reboot the PC, start DM, Pull the battery while the device is ON, replace after a minute,
Let the device reboot 1-3 min,  Plug the BB into the USB cable, Go to synchronization options and rest the options to only
Synch the calendar, sync for two way, select no other programs. Start the sync process.
Please let us know the results,

  • My BB Curve Keeps Freezing During Calls

Help please, does anyone know why my BB keeps freezing during calls?

    Hi there,
First check two setting within your device :
On your Homescreen go to Options > Device > Storage > Make sure " Enable Compression " is UNchecked or UNmarked .
Homescreen > Options > Security > Advanced Security Setting > Memory Cleaner > Br sure it is Disabled .
Then Check again , But if you already have those setting as I suggested then Boot your device on Safe Mode :
KB17877 : How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Mode
On Safe Mode don't try to Click or run any application , Just make a few phone calls to see if your device freezes again, If freezing cease then those freezing issues are caused by any of your Installed 3rd party applications . All you can do is delete one application at a time then reboot and check unless you find the original culprit responsible for this issue .

  • Please help keep freezing

hi.. i just buy my first blackberry curve 8530 and the trackpad keeps freezing, not let me do anything ,
i  should return it to the store? repeatedly remove the battery when is on, is  that more I can do , I am thinking of returning it.. . Please any help

I am having this same problem and I have NO idea what is causing it. I have been searching high and low for an answer, and nothing seems to be appearing. The only thing I could think now is to maybe re-install Firefox. That is the browser I have been using and that this has happened in.

  • Curve 8310 fails to read microSD card

    Greetings,
I bought a Blackberry Curve 8310 last summer and it worked fine until November of last year when the phone failed to read my Micro SD media card. Thinking the media card was the problem, I have bought a new media card a few months ago to try fixing the problem. The problem still persists and I need help getting this fixed.
I currently use Blackberry 4.5 Device OS. Under Options in the phone's menu:
    Media card support: on
    Encryption mode: none
    Mass storage mode support: on
Auto enable MSM when connected: Yes
    Total space: 1.8 GB
    Free Space: 1.4 GB.
This means the phone knows I have a media card but just cannot read it. For pictures, only the pictures I saved onto the microSD card using my computer can be seen, but pictures I took using the phone doesn't show up. When taking pictures, the camera indicates "File system out of resources". For music, all the music is visible, but when trying to play the songs, it doesn't do anything.
I have tried everything from turning off/on the phone, removing the battery to do a hard reset, not downloading any applications to see if they were the cause, and formatting the media card for blackberry use. I have even reformatted the phone 5 to 6 times and installed a clean new OS onto the phone and the problem is still there. The only short-term solution I found in fixing this problem is when using the Desktop Manager to backup my data on the phone. After backing up the data, the phone will recognize my media card and I can access it fine for about 2 to 3 days. Then the phone fails again and I have to keep backing up my data to get my phone to work. Now I am very tired of repeating this process. Either I get a long-term solution or I need a new phone (I believe I still have warrenty).
The phone is great but this problem is getting on my nerves. Someone please help me!

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
From everything you've described, you've done everything possible. Hence, I recommend you seek out your warranty support.

  • BB Desktop Software 4.5/Handheld OS 4.5 for AT&T Curve 8310

Does anyone have a BB Curve 8310 with AT&T and has been successfully able to upgrade to the desktop 4.5 and the O.S. 4.5 for the handheld? Is it possible?

If you downlaoded the V4.5 from another company's website, you will need to delete the vendor.xml file before you can install it. Keep in mind, that that version, if its not released from your carrier may cause issues with your clackberry, including from what I have read make your Blackberry a paperweight and/or fry your sim card. IE, it may void the warranty on your Blackberry since its not tested on your carriers service.
If your carrier does have it available, most carriers will have instructions on how to downlaod and update your Blackberry on their website.

I am trying to add a new gmail account to my curve.  Whenever I try to - I click on set up, email accounts, and my phone keeps freezing.  I went to the verizon store, after 2 hours, they still could not figure it out so they gave me a new phone.  I went to another store a couple weeks later with the same problem, they told me they know there is a problem, and "hopefully the programmers are fixing it".  Does anyone know of what I can do to add an email account to my phone?
    Thanks
