BB Curve 8330 Trackball issue

Greetings all - I've been having an issue related to my BB Curve 8330. When I roll the trackball, it works fine when it's moving left to right, right to left and moving up. But, it will not scroll down. I've removed the battery to try and reset it, have also used "dust off" to try and blow out any dirt that may have lodged in the ball. All to no avail...It feels like it's "sticking" when I scroll down. Any thoughts as to what may be wrong and how to resolve the issue? In advance, thanks!

    Did it happen after installing any software, even from the blackberry app world, if so remove that app, also make sure you have enough space free on the device.
    I had this prob, removed the app and all good since then.

  • Blackberry Curve 8330 Audio Issue- No Alerts

    Hey all,
    I've got a quick question about a phone for one of my clients that has been driving me nuts (the issue... Not the client ). She keeps having all audio notification (and even the ability to play audio through the Media Player) stop, requiring a battery pull to resolve the issue.  We have been through three different units (two of which we did NOT do backups or transfers of any sort) and yet the issue continues.  I'm a little baffled by what it could be. She informs me that she has not been adding additional content to the device (ringtones and other MP3s) and that the only additional App she is using is the MSN Messenger. The version of the Curve software my carrier is using is 4.5.0.253... Any suggestions you could send my way would be much appreciated!

  • BB Curve 8330- Calendar issues, please help.

    Hi,
     I just got the phone a couple of weeks ago.  I use the today theme that came on the phone because I like to see my upcoming events on the phone when I turn it on. 
    I have a couple of questions:
    1. I notice that my All day events, like someones birthday, or NO School, do not show up on the today screen as an upcoming event.  /Any way to change that?
    2. Some upcoming events are not listed (it only lists 2 events at a time) but others after them are listed, even though when I go to the calendar application, they are there.  For instance, I am working 5-11 on Labor Day.  So I have that entered on 9/1.  It is not one of my two upcoming events on my home page, but events occuring on 9/6 and 9/7 are.  Why is that, and how can I change it? 
    While these are not really big issues, because the events are not missing from the calendar and I can still see them, its just odd to me and annoying me because it doesn't make sense.

     How long has this been occurring?
    try this: pull the battery while your device is ON, leave it out for a minute, replace it,
    Let the device reboot 1-3 min. See if you calendar displays correctly.

  • Curve 8330 Trackball

    My trackball rotates all directions easily; however, the cursor on the screen does not respond readily in left to right motion and not respond at all upward.  I just purchased this unit.  Any suggestions other than taking it to Verizon for repair?  I purchased the unit from a reputable dealer on ebay.

  • Please Help! Sprint Curve 8330 sync issue

    I purchased this phone for my girlfriend. She loves the phone, but when she tries to install the sync software it almost finishes installing then it giver her an error 1305. Then it begins to go backwards looking for a file. She left it for hours and it never found anything. She was referred to getting the 4.6 software, but it wont let her install it. She has a Toshiba laptop with Windows Vista. Any help will be greatly appreciated. She donest live with me at the moment and we are more than a 1000 miles away. Again any help would be greatly appreciated.

    She can install the 4.6 DM if she does install in Vista using Administrator Rights.

  • Curve 8330 Stereo Headset Issue.

    Hello, I purchases a new Curve 8330 a few days ago and the headset which was included with it (the 3.5mm 4 Pole Stereo Headset) does not work when I play music from the Internet or from the Media. It also doesn't work with any calls. The volume always comes out of the speaker in the phone, not the headphones. Is the headset exclusively for Bluetooth use? My iPod headphones work on my Curve and the Curve headphones work with my iPod, so I'm confused.
    I read the previous posts related to headset issues and I couldn't find an answer to this. Thank you!

    I'm having a similar problem... my blackberry headset does not work properly. I mean.. it was working when I first got it-- and then all of a sudden, it stopped. It was cold outside, and I never really thought about it again. I was frustrated... and about a week ago I called tech support to inquire...
    They siad my blacberry headset jack was most likely damaged, as:
    My boyfriend also has a blackberry, and I had the same problem with his out-of-box blackberry headset. (It would work, and then not work unless I pulled it out of the jack slightly).
    Regular headphones I use with my ipod worked just fine in my blackberry (curve, by the way).
     My headset worked in a sales associate phone when I took it into the store. Granted... my store doesn't fix blackberries-- they just have you send them in.
    Luckily... I'm under warently. I wish I weren't so in love with this phone... it seems to be really fragile. My last one was coming apart at the seams in the back around the battery come day 2....
    ... wait until you try to upgrade your phone's software...... whew. It's rough.

  • Curve 8330 unable to sync due to USB issue

    I am unable to sync my Curve 8330 with the desktop application.  The error indicates it can not see the device.  I have tried all of the USB ports.  I downloaded from the web version 4.5 (the Curve came with 4.3).  I took the USB cable back to Verizon (my carrier) thinking it was somehow broken.  I have my IT work on my system for 60 minutes, and sopke with tech support for Blackberry 3 times.
    My system information is as follows:
    Phone - Blackberry Curve 8330 (Verizon model # RBU21CW)
    Computer - IBM T43 Laptop
    System - Microsoft Windos XP (Professional), version 2002, service pack 2
    Carrier - Verizon
    Any help is more then appreciated....

  • Curve 8330 email & Mac Mail issue

    I have a Curve 8330, about two years old. Service from VZW, and I am set up with BIS. My email account is from comcast.net. My laptop is a MacBook Pro and I use Mac Mail for my email program on that. I just changed over from using Entourage (by Microsoft) for Mac to Mac Mail as my default email. The day I did that I started receiving (on my Curve) emails from Nov. 2009. That corrected when I had Verizon delete my email account and re-establish it. Then just today I received some duplicate emails of what I had already received earlier in the day. NOTE: Neither the old emails nor the duplicates showed up on the laptop, using the same email address. The duplications have not happened since noon today. VZW CSR went into the BIS website to establish my account and I just validated that. THE Question remaining (besides what caused the old emails and the duplication) IS: when I receive emails on the laptop Mail first, they show up BOLD (as unread), within seconds of the same email coming into the Bb Curve, the email on the laptop goes to Un-Bold as in Read already. That never happened in Entourage. What's up with that?

    The issue with the duplication and old email is probably due to the messages being left on the mail server, and when you changed mail programs it downloaded them all again. This somehow made these messages look like new email to the BlackBerry Internet Service, so it downloaded them to the device again.
    As for the read and unread status changes, I have a few questions. Do you have your email account setup in your Mac Mail as IMAP or POP? Also do you know if your email account is setup to use IMAP or POP on the BlackBerry Internet Service?

    Hi All
    I am using a lot of <div> tags on my jsp page to be displayed on Curve 8330 I am getting unnecessary white space after the last <div> tag . I have tried to set <div> and <body> tag style attributes like padding and margins to "0px" but with no luck.

    File to Idoc and Idoc used is ORDERS05.
    Is IDOC occurence on target side is unbounded or 0..1???
    If multiple occurence means then u need to change the IDOC structure, just change the occurence to o.unbounded.
    Whenvever i am opening the payload with notepad i am able to see the space as 70th character and whenever i am checking the XML the space has been truncated for same.
    I understand from above that the payload is correct with 70th character is space , but when u see the XML Payload in moni, the size is less or the white spaces are trimmed out.
    So u neeed to add extra attribute on sender FCC
    node.fieldContentFormatting  nothing
    by default it is trim u need to change as nothing..

  • Bluetooth Curve 8330 Issues

    I have a Blackberry Curve 8330. I tried to pair it with my car's HFL, Acura TSX. The car cannot find the phone, and I think I have tried almost everything. Not only can my car not find my phone, but my friends' phones cannot find my phone. I made it discoverable, deselected the serial port profile, removed encryption (security level still high). Any ideas? Thanks!!!

  • Google Maps no longer works for my Verizon Blackberry Curve 8330. What is wrong with Google???

    For the past 11 months, Google Maps and Gmail have worked wonderfully with my Verizon Blackberry Curve 8330. Tonight, all of it stopped working. I tried to load Google Maps and failed. Kept getting the error message "Network Unavailable, blah blah blah". I tried restarting the phone, removing and reinserting the battery, until I finally uninstalled Google Maps. Now when I point my browser (OperaMini) to m.google.com to download and reinstall Google Maps, it says "Sorry the Google Maps application does not work on your 8330." This makes NO sense. Why would Google suddenly remove support for my phone? Is there a work around? Before uninstalled, I tried all sorts of tricks with editing permissions to no avail.
    Also, Gmail is refusing to check mail, occasionally saying that a data connection is needed. That also makes NO sense as I have great phone reception.
    My internet (OperaMini) and normal calling and texting capabilities are unaffected.
    In conclusion: Is there ANY WAY to get these Google applications to reinstall and work on my phone? Or has Google screwed me over? Any help would be tremendously appreciated!

  • Can't transfer calendar: Palm Treo to Curve 8330

    I've been helping my husband switch over from his Palm Treo 600, using Palm desktop, to new BB Curve 8330. A salesman transferred name and tel #s only.  I've managed to switch most of his Palm into Outlook, and sync'd Outlook with the BB.  The only problem now seems to be that the calendar is not syncing over to the BB. Suggestions???
    I have tried to sync setting configurations several different ways: to sync all or calendar only, to have Outlook override device, and two way.  Nothing will get the calendar over to the BB, although all his addresses and tasks are there now. Help!

    Outlook 2003 and desktop manager v.6 will be perfect!
    Yes install the main email address on the Blackberry to match Outlook.
    On the Blackberry you get a calendar for each email address you use.
    Only one can be synchronized with the Outlook calendar.
    You can go to Outlook, tools, email options and make sure of the default account.
    Then on the Blackberry from the home screen, options, advanced options,
    default services. Use the main email options CICAL is the calendar and CMIME is the email.
    By placing them as default you then sync email address to email address calendars.
    Make sense?

  • Camera Problem with Curve 8330

    Hi - I have a Curve 8330 and the camera has recently started acting strange. When I look at the screen to take a picture, the image is "posterized" (ie, it looks like an Andy Warhol poster, with strange colors).
    I can find no setting to fix this...I have also tried both a hard and soft reboot, with no luck.
    When I take a picture while looking at the "posterized" screen image, it does not save it, even though I have plenty of file space left.
    Help! :-)

    I am having the same issue as well (and done the same things), and have not been able to find anything either.  I am not sure if this is now a hardware issue and not a software issue.
