BB Curve 8520 Desktop Software 6.0.1.18 internal error

 Sincronicé muchas veces mi organizador sin problema. Pero ahora no puedo completarlo, en el soft aparecer "Error 0x8004fceb" y en el log "Internal Error #-789" . Busqué en diversos sitios, pero no encuentro ninguna referencia a este problema. Gracias desde ya por cualquier ayuda.

    In July 2009 I dropped my trusty Visor on a tile floor and it stopped working.  So, in the meantime I have been using only the Palm Desktop software. 
    Just yesterday, when I attempted to launch the Palm Desktop software, it failed with the message “Error: Failed to open Address Book database”.  I think this error was caused by a very ungraceful shut-down of my Win XP system yesterday. 
    I really do need to use the Palm Desktop software for my address list, calendar, and memo.  The problem is that the error with the Address Book database seems to be preventing the Palm Desktop software from initializing.
    I am using Palm Desktop 4.0.1 on Windows XP SP3.  I do NOT  have an export file of the Palm address book or other databases.  However, I do have five levels of backup history on my external Maxgor backup drive. 
    Specifically, on my current c drive I have files in the directory:
    C:\Program Files\Handspring\WR\address
                address.bak                  5/16/2009   (from last sync before I broke Visor)
                address.dat                   5/24/2011
                Personal.ABA                11/6/2008
                Unfiled.ABA                   3/28/2008
    On my most recent backup of my system, there are the following files:
                            address.bak                 5/16/2009   (from last sync before I broke Visor)    
                            address.dat                  5/12/2011
                            Personal.ABA              11/6/2008
                            Unfiled.ABA                  3/28/2008
    I have not listed the four older backup versions.
    I haven’t tried any corrective measures yet (I don’t want to make matters worse) and am hoping that someone can guide me along the right path.
    Is it possible for me to just rename the “current” address.dat file to something like address.SAV and then copy the Address.dat file file with date of 5/12/2011 into the current directory.  Will the software then just use the older version of the data, or must I do something else.
    I am grateful for any assistance.  Thank you very much.

    Thanks for the speedy response.  However, I read the article for which you provided the link, and I hve also read many other articles that I found via search, but I don't think these will help me.  All of these articles seem to assume that (1) you have a handheld to which you can sync and thereby rebuild the database on the PC, or (2) you have a backup that you created via the Palm Desktop export function.  Unfortunately, I have neither and so I don't think any of these solutions will work for me.
    I did read with great interest an article that stated that recent versions of Palm Desktop have a built-in function that will repair a corrupted Datebook database.  Will this also fix a corrupted Address Book database which is my problem?  
    So, I downloaded and attempted to install the latest version of Palm Desktop.  I was careful to read the instructions that stated NOT to uninstall my current version of Palm Desktop, but to just install the latest version on top of my current Palm Desktop.  However, when I attempted to do the installation, the installer software said it could not install on top of my current software and that I should first uninstall my current software.
    I have some questions now:
    (1) If I uninstall my current version of Palm Desktop, will this destroy my Address Book, Datebook, and Memo databases ( I don't care about the ToDo database)?  If so, what can I do to preserve those databases?
    (2) Is there really a function built in the recent versions of Palm Desktop that will fix a corrupted database?  Is this an "automatic" function that will detect and fix a broken database or is this something I will have to invoke?

     I really don’t care about the To Do List data since I really don’t use it --- in fact, I haven’t used it in many months.  However, I really do need to use the Palm Desktop software for my contacts, calendar, and memo.  The problem is that the error with the To Do List database seems to be preventing the Palm Desktop software from initializing.
     Just guessing, I saved the todo.dat and todo.bak files by renaming them, and then renamed the todo.bak file to todo.dat.  Then I attempted to launch the Palm Desktop application, but it failed with the same error “Error: Failed to open To Do List database”.
     I also tried renaming all of the todo files so that none had a name of todo.dat or todo.bak.  The result is that the Palm Desktop software still will not start up. 
     I think I am using Palm Desktop 4.0.1, at least that is what the help text file seems to tell me.

    Your on the correct path by saving the data by renaming the files. But to resolve this error we need to remove the data all together. Since you no longer need this data if you just delete it then it should not matter. If Palm Desktop is giving this error but will not open I doubt that the data can be recovered in any event.

  • Curve 9300 & Desktop software

    Hi there, My 64-bit laptop runs Windows 7. Desktop Software doesn't allow the connection which the computer recognises. It asks for the device password but then says there is a connection problem. I have tried re-installing the software & re-booting laptop & BB. I am unable to synch anything!! I have even tried bluetooth. Please help. Thanks.

  • Curve 9300 Desktop Software doesnt offer Outlook as option

    I have downloaded the desktop software and when i go to Select Organizer Data and pick calendar, contact, etc  Intellisync Setup comes up and I select calendar and contacts it go to then it goes to Intellisync Select a desktop application and Outlook is not there.  Why?  I have tried the reinstall/repair but with no luck.  If i do this on my laptop at home Outlook is an option. Why doesn't it show up on my desktop?

    I called blackberry support and I was told that the 4.2 service pack 2 is no longer available for download.  Do you know a way I could download in order for the software to recognize my outlook 2000? If not,  I have downloaded on my previous computer, is there a way to transfer the software to my new computer?

  • BB Desktop Software 7.1 causing Windows 7 error?

    Hi,
    My Windows 7 (Home Premium) started having profile corruption errors (I get logged onto a temporary profile) ever since I updated from BB Desktop Software 7.0 to 7.1. The problem was resolved when I system restored Windows 7 to prior to the Desktop Software update. I tested this by installing ver 7.1 and poof, the same problem occurred. Had to system restore again to fix my Windows 7 profile. I never faced this problem before when I was using ver 7.0. 
    Has anyone else encountered this problem? Did a search on the board and there doesn't seem to be any topics on this so far.
    Would appreciate any tips and troubleshooting advice.

    It starts with a process for cleanly starting over, and there is some discussion, and there is also a post (15) with links to older Desktop Software versions, if those are needed. Note that this is not, by any means, guaranteed to work...but it has worked for many to resolve issues they are having.

    Hello guys
    I have been looking for this problem and how to fix it, but I found out that they all never helped or don't have many details ..Etc 
    OK let me start from the problem :
    It was this morning when I was out sitting and my bbm didn't work so I got the battery off and back on at that time when it reloaded I had the problem I got a white screen with the problem  I can't get on the BB  OK, people said you might have a problem but the only thing I know I downloaded and didn't work was the b security thing.
    OK anyways my mate told me that he saw that problem and all what got it fixed was update 
    I saw on the forum  people saying get battery off and back on and press the back arrow to get safe mode didn't work
    And what was awkward was people saying that get on your options button and deleted it but HOW CAN I GET ON IT WHILE I CANT EVEN USE IT!
    OK I downloaded the software on the laptop but it never worked it asked me for pass I did it but I can't access files nothing the only thing I can access is the phone info and when I press any other one it goes connect to phone and when I do it comes error 
    I would like you to help me pleasee really quick and a safe way I got to many people on bbm that I know and I haven't got there bbm pins saved I would really like it if you help me

  • Desktop Software v4.7: Device Switch Wizard ERROR

    Switching between Blacberry devices; I connect my old Blackberry 8320 and select Start.   It runs through 3 or 4 tasks and when it comes to Searching for Available SoftwareI receive this error message;
    "Handheld Application Loader Wizard has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience."
    I de-selected the software upgrade options and received the same message.
    I have tried it with Mass Storage Mode on and off.

    Typically, you'd want to do that action just once...to initially get your data over to your BB. After which you'd want to use a different (and compatible) PIM to manage the data on your PC. I'm thinking that perhaps you should do that -- or perhaps, given the error, move your data from your Palm PIM to a compatible PIM:

  • Windows 8.1 Remote Desktop Connection dies with feeble "An internal error has occurred" with SonicWALL VPN

    Back when life was simple, under Windows XP, i simply fired up my SonicWALL client, connected to the host, and then connected via RDC and all was good.
    Now I have Windows 8.1 and SonicWALL's v4.9.0.1202 64-bit client.  I can connect with the client - although it seems to drop the connection quite a bit - but when it is up, I can ping the host.  But when I try to RDC, I get the completely unhelpful
    error mentioned above.
    My version of 8.1 is up-to-date - the VPN client came right from DELL's website.  What am I doing wrong?
    Just in case you want to know, yes - I can RDC to non VPN and PPTP VPN sites no problem - and on the same LAN, my XP box can RDC with SonicWALL with no issues.
    Please, somebody - i need to get back to Planet 10!

    If you are updating via wifi then connect the iPod to your computer and try there. And the other way around too.

  • App error curve 8520

    Need urgent help with this please. A friend of mine also has a bb curve 8520 and recently she keeps getting the "App error 523".
    I've tried googling the problem and everywhere says to reset the o/s. While this is straightforward in theory, When I've tried to connect the device to the bb desktop, the phone loads up for about 5 seconds, and then the app screen appears.
    It even does this when I boot up the bb in safe mode. I'm getting frustrated now as I cant do anything with the bb desktop (as in re-install the o/s) when the app error message screen comes up.
    Any ideas please?

    If your BlackBerry stays powered off with a black screen, follow the instructions below. The only indication of life might be the blinking red LED light in the top corner. Nothing seems to wake it up and Desktop Manager doesn't recognize any device is connected.
    1) Make sure you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed.

  • Sync Problems between Blackberry 8330 and Outlook 2007 using Desktop software v 4.7

    I have a Blackberry Curve 8330 and I have been experiencing some problems syncing it with my HP Notebook running Outlook 2007.  I am using the most current Desktop Software version 4.7.  I am using the BB Internet Service and all of my email accounts seem to be operating well.  When I attempt to sync I receive the following errors in this sequence
    Error 1:  Intellisync;  There are no applications configured for synchronization.  From the synchronize screen, go to Configure > Synchronization to configure the applications.
    At this point, I attempt to follow the above instructions and configure the applications I want to Sync.  When I complete the above step for all applications, or each one seperately, I receive the following error:
    Error 2:  Runtime Error;  Folder is no longer a part of the system data source or  the folder can not be found.
    As I stated above, I receive the error for all 4 applications (Address Book, Calendar, Memos and Tasks) whether they are configured seperately or all at once.  I have unistalled the desktop software v4.7 5 times and Outlook 3 times. I am truly at a loss and in dire need of my Calendar and Contacts on my phone.  If anyone has come across this in the past or has any ideas, Please feel free to comment or reply.  Any info will be greatly appreciated!!!

    I have purchased BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300 but,It's more than 4 times that I am getting error on BlackBerry Desktop Software.     I am having the same problem I have reinstalled the software more times than I can count and now I cannot open the Icon on my desktop at all. This is beginning to be really frustrating can someone please help. I want to download my pictures from my phone to my computer unable to do that as well.

  • Desktop Software doesn't work/ Can't Sync BB thru USB cable

    I bought a new micro SD for my BB and as soon as I plugged in the BB with the SD inside my desktop software went haywire.
    Doesn't want to link up with the BB device, won't back up the data on my phone - nothing!
    So I followed some bad advice and uninstalled all the BB software from my PC.
    And now when I try to re-dl the software it says I'm missing a key file on my hard drive to install the product package.
    What should I do?
