BB curve 9330 email trouble

I click on email accounts in the set-up then click on internet email and it just takes me back to the setup menu.... If anyone can help I would be very thankful

Dear Megan,
There could be many contributing factors.
1. Connection issue (check signal)
2. Software got corrupted (since you have redownloaded it, try again. If it still doesn't work ... hmmmm)
3. Change of SIM Card
If your answers for the above 3 points are positive, then you might want to check with your local BB support centre.
Last resort will be reseting your phone to factory setting and restore it back using Blackberry Protect.

  • BlackBerry Curve 9330 - email no longer accepts Hotmail

    Yesterday I received an email from BlackBerry saying that I have a 'Service Plan Update' and that my plan has been updated and now only supports a blackberry.net email address and that other email addresses (my hotmail) have been removed. 
    I have my phone plan under Element Mobile and when I called them they said that there is nothing that they can do because this is a BlackBerry issue.  I am one year into my two year plan and will not be happy if I can no longer receive my emails from my personal Hotmail account.  Has anyone else had this issue?

    I just love it when the carriers fob things off and quickly blame RIM. They are flat wrong. The carriers each control exactly the services they deliver to their end users. For them to fob this off to RIM is pure falsehood. If you have a contract with Element that says you should be receiving certain services, and they are no longer delivering those services, then they are breaching the contract they have with you. RIM is not involved in the contracts to the end users.
    If I were you, I'd be very upset with Element about this...and I'd be escalating with Element to obtain satisfaction.

  • Business email on Blackberry Curve 9330

    I had both my business and personal email set up on my Curve 9330, then Verizon messed up my account and that deleted both emails.  When I got the account straightened out I could set up my personal gmail address but I can't set up my business address.  Our business addresses go through gmail but have the corporate .com address.  It isn't an enterprise server.  I can't figure out why putting in the email and password won't work

    Are you receiving an incorrect password error? Are you able to sign into webmail from a computer? If you are able to sign into webmail, please try the following steps to unlock your Gmail® CAPTCHA.
    Close the email application that is being used to read Gmail account messages.
    From the computer where the POP or IMAP logins are failing, visit https://www.google.com/a/yourdomain.com/UnlockCaptcha, where yourdomain.com is the domain name.
    In the Username field, type the user name.
    In the Password field, type the password.
    Click Unlock.
    Try integrating the email account again.

  • Curve 9330 Cannot Delete Internet Email

    I stupidly upgraded my BB last night and subsequently lost all of the unique Internet e-mail folders I had created.  When I attempted to go into Settings > Email Accounts > Internet Mail Account the system begins checking for updates.  I then see each of the e-mails that I previously set up.  I try to enter the current password and verify/activate but BB never does it successfully.  I cannot delete the accounts nor can I set up the account as new.  I am stuck.  I cannot wait to get rid of my BB but until then I need some assistance on how to get rid of the old instances and recreate.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Issues with my Curve 9330

    Let me start by saying I have been searching for an answer to my questions for a while both here and other places and I haven't found much. I am new to the world of Blackberry so forgive me if I screw something up here.
    The first problem that I am having is with email. I have a gmail account and my emails used to delete off the phone when I deleted them from the computer at gmail.com. Now they stay forever and I have to delete them off the phone too. I don't know what happened to cause the issue. I did upgrade to the new OS6 but was having some issues with that too and reverted back to OS5. I did have the email issue with OS6 also but not before I upgraded. The other issue I was having with OS6 was the cursor would just move itself without any input from me. It would always move down and to the right. I did like OS6 for the most part but couldn't deal with the cursor issue and email issue. I thought when I reverted back to OS5 that the email issue would be fixed but it was not. I have tried deleting the account and adding it back and that dont work. I have tried to download the gmail plugin again and I can't download it I get an error. I just don't know what to do with this to fix it. Any help is appreciated.

    Apps installed and their version if possible.   (Go to Settings, then Options, then applications):google sync, lookout security, poynt, visible vote, youmail
    BT device model/version (you will have to look at the BT device): don't have one

    Please try connecting your BlackBerry® Curve™ 9330 smartphone to a computer without the battery inserted and trying to reload the BlackBerry® Device Software. Once the software load has already started, reinsert the battery.     This process will remove all data from your BlackBerry Curve smartphone. Since it is not detected by your computer, you will not be able to backup your data first, but if you have a previously taken backup file, you can restore your data from that backup.

  • 9330 Email Setup Issues

    I have a friend of mine that just got a Curve 9330 through US Cellular. They have the BB Data plan, we can setup a person email account with the live.com email they have. But when we try to set up a "blackberry.com" phone specific email i keep getting; "Unable to add account.Please check your information and try again". I have tried every combination of user names and passwords i can think of. I am working on my last nerve. It is running OS6. Can anyone help?

    I don't know why your email would suddenly stop working but your cell carrier should have a self-serve BIS site from which you can add, delete and edit all email accounts on your BlackBerry phone.
    If you can't get the email setup wizard to work, call Optus to gain access to the self-serve BIS site.

  • Curve 9330 cant setup gmail?

    hello. new to the form. i just picked up curve 9330 for my son. i'm trying to set it up for him. so far, facebook, youtube, yahoo mail all works just fine. the only problem im running into is setting up his gmail account. username and password is all correct, but i still get the error saying, incorrect username or password. if it still doesnt work, contact gmail. i know its not google because when using the browser on the curve to use gmail, it works just fine. any ideas?

    The way legacy BBs work is totally different from other devices. Legacy BBs do not, for example, have a full on-device email client, and must have a proper BB-level data plan from the carrier in order to do email (as well as a variety of other BB proprietary services). That's just the way that legacy BBs work.
    By contrast, the newer BB10 devices do not need a BB-specific data plan, and can do everything with a generic data plan just like other non-BB devices.
    The fact that a BB-specific data plan costs more than a generic one is driven by two things...1) the fact that BBs require infrastructure, hosted at the carriers and BB, to support them and 2) different market conditions in different regions (some places in the world a BB-level data plan does not cost more but is still required, but in other parts of the world the carriers charge more for it).
    The nice thing about our free market is that there is a plethora of choices for everyone, so hopefully each person can find something that meets their individual set of needs, desires, and tolerance levels. The key is to, before purchasing, educate oneself on the full impact of any decision...and thereby decide according to what best meets their needs. From what you say, you perhaps did not fully research before plunging into that purchase, and only now are learning the cascading requirements from that decision.

  • How do I backup my photos on my curve 9330 to my Mac computer

    How do I backup my photos that are on my Blkberry Curve 9330 to my Mac computer. I am getting a new iphone soon and they told me at Verizon they can transfer my contacts but not my photos. So how do I get the photos that are on my phone onto my desktop of my Mac computer. I have both photos on a memory card and photos on my phone.

  • Curve 9330 mobile network wont connect

    My phone wont connect to my network service provider. its doing it randomly and gives no service for periods of time... i have tried pulling the battery for a hard reset and have turned the connections off and on but it makes no difference... is it just the model? i have had major problems with my last curve 9330 as well with it freezing and locking me out and constantly crashing and reseting and giving me a blank screen... any help would be appreciated....

  • Lock toolbar views - Curve 9330

    I have a BB Curve 9330.  How do I lock the toolbar or application bar (or whatever it's called) so that I don't have to toggle through "Frequent, All, Favorites, Media, Downloads"?  I just want to set it to one view.  Thank you!

    I'm not sure whether or not you can lock the taskbar. But I have seen that by downloading a different theme through the Blackberry App World will give you differnt taskbars without the scrolling action. Just browse through and see if it works.

  • BlackBerry Curve 9330 stuck on White Screen

    Okay, my Curve is stuck on a white screen. I've taken the battery out and put it back in, but that didn't work. Also, it connects to the Desktop Manager as if nothing is wrong. I can't turn it off manually either. Any help please???

  • Curve 8330 email & Mac Mail issue

    I have a Curve 8330, about two years old. Service from VZW, and I am set up with BIS. My email account is from comcast.net. My laptop is a MacBook Pro and I use Mac Mail for my email program on that. I just changed over from using Entourage (by Microsoft) for Mac to Mac Mail as my default email. The day I did that I started receiving (on my Curve) emails from Nov. 2009. That corrected when I had Verizon delete my email account and re-establish it. Then just today I received some duplicate emails of what I had already received earlier in the day. NOTE: Neither the old emails nor the duplicates showed up on the laptop, using the same email address. The duplications have not happened since noon today. VZW CSR went into the BIS website to establish my account and I just validated that. THE Question remaining (besides what caused the old emails and the duplication) IS: when I receive emails on the laptop Mail first, they show up BOLD (as unread), within seconds of the same email coming into the Bb Curve, the email on the laptop goes to Un-Bold as in Read already. That never happened in Entourage. What's up with that?

    The issue with the duplication and old email is probably due to the messages being left on the mail server, and when you changed mail programs it downloaded them all again. This somehow made these messages look like new email to the BlackBerry Internet Service, so it downloaded them to the device again.
    As for the read and unread status changes, I have a few questions. Do you have your email account setup in your Mac Mail as IMAP or POP? Also do you know if your email account is setup to use IMAP or POP on the BlackBerry Internet Service?

    @SavanaTerra  The Blackberry is great email device.  You made a great choice.  The best way to set up email is to follow these steps:
    From the Home screen, press the Menu button> Select Setup> Select> Email Settings> Select Add> Select the account type (e.g. other)> Enter the appropriate Email address and Password then select Next > Select OK.

    hey, so i just got a sandisk sdhc card. 4gb. i put it into the back of my phone and it's not showing there is a card on the devive. i tried rebooting it a couple times and still nothing. does anyone have any suggestions on the what the problem might be?  thanks.

  • PLEASE HELP! BB CURVE 8520 EMAIL AND BBM NOT WORKING! :(

    Ok, i would really appreciate it if someone could help me with my BB curve. i've tried the shop i bought it from and many other people and all ive been told is to send it away to be fixed. i really need my phone every day and dont want to send it away so im trying for a quick fix kind of thing, thanks to anyone who replies.
    My blackberry was bought in October 2010 so its not old, from an o2 shop, it was working completely fine and great up until about 1 month ago.
    i was trying to get onto the internet and a message came up saying 'unable to connect to server please contact service provider or try again later' or something similar to that.
    from this appeared my phone is no longer receiving or sending any emails from or to anyone at all and my blackberry messenger has also stopped working.
    i can open my email and bbm but when i open my bbm i type out my message and hit send and the message sends with a tick to show this but the little D for delivered never appears and my friends are not receiving my messages and im not receiving their messages either.
    my phone says its connected to the internet and wifi, at the top of the screen the signal is full and it says EDGE most of the time or sometimes GPRS. i dont know what's wrong but its so annoying
    i know this message is long but i want to give all details so someone can help me properly, ive tred resetting pulling the battery out, deleting and resetting up my wifi and all that, can anyone please help me? thanks so much if you can! its much appreciated! i can upload an image of what my screen says if it helps just let me know!

    Hi, I'd recommend checking to make sure that you still have a Blackberry Data Plan by contacting your Network Provider (i.e O2)
