BB Desktop / 9700 / Vista Business (32b) / Outlook '03. Sync issues

I'm a newbie in here and need help. So, to keep a long story....long. Recently Dell recalled my hard drive and sent out a new one. Previously I was running XP Pro/Outllook '03/with an 8820 and BB Desktop 4.6 flawlessly. Now, with the new hard drive I am running Vista Business (32bit)/Outlook '03/with a brand new Bold 9700 (T Mobile) and BB Desktop 5.0.1. I am unable to setup intellisync with outlook. When setting up sync, I get through all the motions and get a "Runtime error", "Unable to find system in table file". I searched all over the internet and did everything that I could find for this to no avail. I reset the connection in dos per the tech guide on here, it didn't work. I did the clean install with removing registry entries (with all available BB Desktop versions, 4.6 - 5.01) none worked. I need to be able to sync my contacts and calendar! Please help! Is there a BB tech line number?
Thanks in advance!

  • Sync with Vista Business and Outlook 2007

My old systems we running XP and Outlook 03 but I have recently upgraded to Vista Business and Outlook 2007. Since upgrading I have not be able to get either my contacts or calendar to sync. I have tried everything that I have come across in this forum and elsewhere but so far nothing has worked. I have the latest version of both iTunes and iPhone software. At this point it will not sync in either direction. Even though it says it is syncing it only takes about 10 seconds and nothing actually syncs. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

If possible create a new user
Once in the new user, Launch iTunes and Set it up
    Close out of iTunes
Launch Outlook set it up without Email support so Outlook 2007 will be open
Once this is done Add at least 1 contact and 1 Calender Event to Outlook 2007
Once this is done assuming your iPhone has contact and Cal information on it, Go ahead and go into ITunes and Set the Info Tab to Sync to Outlook for Contacts and Cals, And report what happens.
If this works. Then there is an issue with the Data in Outlook on other account.

We recently discovered a outlook calendar sync issue we can add items on the Blackberry and they will show up in Exchange. But you can’t change a calendar item from the Blackberry, e.g. if you create an item on the phone it will show up in Outlook, but if you use the phone to change the date or name of it Outlook will still show the old one.

  • IPad outlook 2010 sync issues

I used iCloud control panel to,wirelessly sync my iPad II with outlook 2010, windows xp pro.  First sync was successful.  All subsequent syncs have failed with an error message.   Also, when re synching, I didn't see an option to sync only changes.  The only option appearing was to re sync all calendar and contacts.

I finally resolved this... by changing everything over to a new laptop.  I had been running iTunes on a Vista desktop, and moved Outlook and iTunes to a Win7 x64 laptop.  Once I got everything installed, I copied the iTunes folder to the laptop, transferred the purchases, backed up the iPhone and iPad to the new iTunes, and then synched them.  Set iTunes to sync Calendar, Contacts, Mail, and Notes on both, and resynched.  Once this was done and I verified that everything was intact on both the iPhone and the iPad, I tried entering a calendar event on the phone and then did another sync.  The event showed up in Outlook.  I then deleted the event from Outlook and did another sync and the event was gone from the iPhone.  Did the same with the iPad and got the same results.  So this apparently was something related to the desktop or Vista; I never got it resolved on the desktop.  Not sure what it could be, but now that it's resolved I'm going to leave it alone.  Maybe after I upgrade to an iPhone 5, I might try messing with the iPhone 4s on the Vista desktop.  If I do, and happen to get it resolved, I'll surely post something regarding that.

  • Outlook calendar syncing issue with BB tour

My phone has been working great with my outlook up an till about 2 weeks ago. Desktop Manager syncs everything except my outlook calendar. I can't seem to figure out why it won't sync. I do have the newest version of the desktop mgr downloaded onto my computer.
    PLEASE help!

I have provided some information below, that may help with your syncing issue.
Try going back through the synchronization options on the desktop manager. I have provided the detailed instructions below:
    http://search.vzw.com/?do=viewdoc&id=16559
***Step 6 and 7 in the synchronization process will be the most important. Ensure you are selecting calendar (and anything else that is needed), as well as Outlook in Step 7. Step 8 will be up to you in whether you would like to do the following:
    Two way sync
Changes are synchronized to the device and desktop application.
    One way sync from Device
Changes are synchronized to the desktop application only.
    One way sync to Device
Changes are synchronized to the device only.
***You may have to reset your current synchronization and set it back up. If this is needed, use the same article above and on Step 5 in the article you will have the option to reset configuration.
    I hope this helps.

  • Outlook calendar sync issue with iphone

A friend has a desktop running XP with Outlook 2003, iTunes 10, an iPhone 3G running iOS4.
In Outlook, he has his personal contacts and calendar, both with lots of entries.
iTunes is configured to sync his contacts and calendar to his iPhone.
The contacts sync successfully - the calendar does not, meaning the calendar on his iPhone is completely blank, no entries.
We tried resetting the sync history in iTunes, creating a test appointment on both the iPhone and Outlook - nothing.
We then set up a temporary local user on the XP box, configured Outlook, launched iTunes and went to configure calendar syncing when we noticed something different.
When logged in as the temp local user account, in iTunes > iPhone > Info > Sync calendars where you have the choice between All or Selected calendars, under Selected, there was a selectable line item called Calendar.
However, when we switched back to the regular domain user account, that line item was not there.
This leads me to believe that iTunes in that domain user profile for some reason does not detect Outlook calendar, yet it does as the local user.
I thought maybe it has something to do with the user role (he was member of some custom group, not sure what the exact permissions are) and changed him to an administrator role, logged out/back in, tried again, but no difference.
I am not sure how to further troubleshoot this. What can I try to make iTunes detect the calendar? It's really puzzling because it sees the contacts in Outlook and syncs them just fine.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

This sounds just like the problem I am having since downloading the latest version of i-Tunes. Initially i-tunes wasn't recognised so after reinstalling i-Tunes and it's 5 other associated programmes I found that there was a cmpatability isuue (Right click i-tunes icon and go to compatability tag) Once this was sorted my Outlook calendar would not sync with my i-phone. 2 weeks later I am told it is because I have Outlook 2002 and need to upgrade. Frustrating as it worked ok before the latest upgrade.

  • Easy steps to troubleshoot the Outlook Email sync issue

One question about Outlook that has been asked the most is, why some emails don’t sync in Outlook? Or there should be an email received but why I can’t see it in Outlook?
On this topic, we’ve seen a lot of articles on Microsoft and some other 3rd-party web sites, usually the explanation and the troubleshooting steps are so long that we don’t know where to start. I’m writing this article to make something easier. Not an encyclopaedia
about Outlook sync issues, just a few things we can take a look at before something really “difficult”.
For Exchange Accounts to troubleshoot, of course, this Microsoft Knowledge Base is helpful:
How to troubleshoot synchronization problems when you synchronize your Exchange Server mailbox with your .ost file in Outlook
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/842284/en-us
Here below I will introduce some common causes of the Emails not sync issues in Outlook, steps are based on Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2013, which are widely used nowadays.
    View
Here comes a user, who says “why don’t some emails appear in my Outlook?” Generally we think it may be caused since the sync process is not complete, but consider this scenario: The “missing” email has been received but the user just can’t see it, is
this possible? Yes, this is possibly caused by the custom view.
First please logon the webmail, or OWA for Exchange Accounts, to see whether the “missing” emails exist there, if yes, then let’s do the following:
Go to the folder where the emails should be displayed, switch to VIEW tab ->
Current View Group -> Click Reset View button. When it prompts to confirm, click
    Yes.
The emails magically appear! Why? That’s because you have set a custom view in this folder, such as a Filter in View Settings to let Outlook only show these emails that meet the criteria you have set. Once you click
Reset View, the View will reset and the Filter is wiped out. The emails can be displayed again.
One common symptom of this cause, is that you see a number beside the folder which indicates you have something unread, while you can’t find the unread items. Probably you have a custom view in Outlook that only allows the read items to show.
Another way to reset the View is to run Outlook with the command switch “/cleanviews”, which will restore default view and all custom views you created will be lost:
Press Win key + R, in the Run box, type “outlook.exe /cleanviews”, click
    OK or press Enter.
    Sync Filter
“Well, I can see the recent emails of the account in Outlook, but emails older than 3 months don’t show in Outlook, I can see these emails on Web, why?” It’s time to consider the Sync Filter.
Outlook has a feature that allows you to limit the amount of data that is synchronized locally to your .OST. The purpose of this feature is to make Outlook usable on devices that have limited or small amounts of local storage. This feature is called Sync
Filter. You can access the sync filter within your E-mail Server Settings under Account Settings.
We can choose the periods of emails we want to keep offline. Switch to
All to keep all emails to local so that they are not “missing”.
(Not all kinds of accounts can use this feature in all versions of Outlook, such as Exchanges Accounts don’t have Sync Filter in Outlook 2010)
    Send/Receive Groups
I can sync all folders but emails in one folder don’t sync properly, how does this happen? Please check the Send/Receive Settings.
Go to SEND / RECEIVE tab -> Send & Receive Group ->
Define Send/Receive Groups. We can configure the setting for send/receive here:
Highlight All Accounts, click Edit button, in the new dialog window, check if you have select the correct folder options as you need, you may have not selected the folder which emails are not received. Check the box and
click OK to save, it should be working fine then.
    Summary
When we talk about “sync”, we are talking about account types like Exchange, IMAP and Exchange ActiveSync. POP accounts don’t sync, they do a “download” instead, so it’s not talked about (However, some steps are applicable, like
    VIEW).
As mentioned above, this article just discusses the easy things we should look at before the deeper analysis, if you have tried all these suggestions but still have the sync problem, feel free to post the question in our forum:

Is there a work around way??????????
Not really. BIS service is not designed to reconcile to the Outlook on your PC as your former BES service did, or there would be no reason for BES, right?
The (dirty) workaround is to created rules in your Outlook and filters on your BIS account login whereby you BCC yourself all the sent-from-handheld mail which arrives in Outlook and by rule is moved to your sent folder.
Then, on the BIS account login site, you create a filter to not foward any message to your device which are addressed as beig from your own email address.
Likewise, any email sent from Outlook must be copied to yourself to receive on the BlackBerry device, however it won't end up in your sent items.

  • Itunes/Outlook Calendar Syncing Issue - UTF-8 Flavor

I have had the usual and much discussed issue of outlook calendar does not sync with iTunes. The recommendations have been to remove iTunes and re-install, even blow away all the configuration files as well, and it even worked for me once. But not this time.
I was running Windows XP, and all of a sudden the Outlook 2007 calendar just stopped syncing. I upgraded from XP to 8.1, and that was not fun, but inevitable, and still didn’t correct the problem. Now, if you never upgraded from XP to 8.1 – you can’t – at least it is not a direct flight. First, you have to upgrade from XP to 8.0, then from 8.0 to 8.1, and there is no upgrade in place from XP to 8.0. So what does an upgrade in place mean? Your applications and profiles are not carried over. Just your data (if you ask nicely) is carried over – but all applications have to be re-installed from scratch, and reactivated if there was license activation.
So, forget about re-install of iTunes, I changed OS, reinstalled iTunes and Office 2007 from scratch. And still had the syncing problem. So, I wasn’t getting off easy.
In searching, I found some debugging stuff which I tried, as follows to turn on logging:
    So, I ran the following:
    cd C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support\
    defaults write com.apple.Outlook.client.exe ShouldLog YES
    defaults write -globalDomain SyncServicesLogEverything YES
    defaults write -globalDomain SyncServicesLogPersonalInfo YES
And this turned on a lot of tracing. The tracing helped me understand what was going on under the covers, But I am not sure I was getting enough of the information that I needed to really zero in on the bad record.
Now, I will pause and provide some observation of my specific Sync.
An iTunes Sync on a Windows machine when using Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer is selected on the INFO tab of the page for the device.
Selections include Contacts, Calendars, Bookmarks and Notes.
One of the programs involved with Outlook Synchronization is: com.apple.Outlook.client.exe
The program is called when Outlook data needs to be accessed, and is used for contacts, calendar and notes when those items are paired between the iDevice and Outlook. Bookmarks are usually paired with the browser, for example IE.
During the sync operation, each of these are sync’d separately, that is why if you follow the sync actions, iTunes will reflecting what is being synced at the moment, for example “syncing contacts”.
When syncing the calendar, and iTunes is running a slow sync, it reads the Outlook calendar using the com.apple.Outlook.client.exe and does processing of the recursion and time zone information.
    For example, for recurrence:
    [5484 @ Tue Jul 01 10:30:59 2014] [YSLog com.apple.Outlook.client.exe] Setting recurrence data <04300430 0d200200 000000ae 06000c00 00000000 00000400 00002120 0000e703 00000000 00000000 00000000 0000a0e7 980cc016 d10c0630 00000830 00000000 0000a005 00000000 00000000 00000000>
    [5484 @ Tue Jul 01 10:30:59 2014] [YSLog com.apple.Outlook.client.exe] 0 recurrence exceptions
    [5484 @ Tue Jul 01 10:30:59 2014] [YSLog com.apple.Outlook.client.exe] Reading the Extended Exception Info (i.e. Unicode data)
    [5484 @ Tue Jul 01 10:30:59 2014] [YSLog com.apple.Outlook.client.exe] Done making compatible recurrence
    For example, for timezone:
[5484 @ Tue Jul 01 10:30:43 2014] [YSLog com.apple.Outlook.client.exe] Could not create a time zone from outlook name, tried using name (GMT-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada)
Then the calendar entries are pushed, for example:
    ca965dbc4717d9488fafc9266f1f829304082700 =     {
            "all
    day" = 1;
            calendar
    =         (
                ca965dbc4717d9488fafc9266f1f829382800000
    "com.apple.outlook.freebusy" = Free;
    "com.apple.syncservices.RecordEntityName" = "com.apple.calendars.Event";
            "end date" = "2020-05-11 12:00:00 +0000";
            location = "United States";
            "start date" = "2020-05-10 12:00:00 +0000";
            summary = "Mother's Day";
So, my SYNC fails, and I crash and burn with:
[5484 @ Tue Jul 01 10:41:22 2014] [_ISDVLog com.apple.Outlook.client.exe] SyncServices assertion failure (nil != strUTF8) in [(null) (null)], SDLogging.m:641 could not obtain UTF-8 flavor of formatted string
    [5484 @ Tue Jul 01 10:41:23 2014] [YSLog com.apple.Outlook.client.exe] objcMain caught an exception:
    name
    NSInternalInconsistencyException
    reason     : [(null)
(null)]: could not obtain UTF-8 flavor of formatted string
    user info  : (null)
    call stack : (
Now I’m back. So, during the extract and push of the outlook calendar entries, iTunes is building formatted strings. Now, Unicode is usually 16 bit (2 characters) Unicode, sometimes called double byte code. UTF-8 is single byte, so realize you can’t squeeze 16 bits into a 8 bit byte. However, you could if the Unicode string only contained characters that were valid for the UTF-8 character set. My interpretation of the error message above was that somewhere a formatted character string contained a “non-UTF-8” character and raised the assertion. Now, my issue with the excessive detailing from the logs was that – at least with the logging parameters I had turned on – I couldn’t figure out which calendar entry caused the exception to be thrown.
First instinct was  that the last calendar entry in the trace was the culprit, so I deleted that calendar entry, ran again, the sync went up to the previous entry, and threw the exception. This gives me two theories: Either the sync was processing the next entry – which wasn’t printed in the trace yet – and failed, or the sync was going back to previous records – like reviewing the buffer. In either case, the trace wasn’t helping and it was all theories.
Now what? What has everyone been saying? Issues with recurrence. And in the trace, as you see above as an example, “0 recurrence exceptions”, “reading the extended exception info (i.e. Unicode data)”.
Now, I have no clue what that means. My initial guess was that recurrence exceptions (I had non-zeros on some) was an error. But further research I realized what it could mean was that these were situations where there were recurrence exceptions. What is a recurrence exception? Suppose I want to schedule a meeting on the 4th day of the month, for every month of the year. Well, except maybe July 4th, because it is a holiday and the office is closed. I would send the meeting invite, and then a cancellation for the July 4th. (I hear there is no simple way to do this). I now have an exception because I broke the recurrence chain. Other forms of exceptions is if I keep changing the location, or the body of the invite – e.g. every month I update the agenda, but only for one recurrence, not the entire series.
So, keep in mind,  that if the issue is conversion to a UTF-8 character, and it is failing, then uninstall/reinstall of anything is not going to help if the real issue at hand is the data in Outlook and is not a coding or configuration issue. Now, sometimes it is an issue, but you need to see why the syncserver tasks are failing, and may fail due to other reasons including other data issues.
So, what did I do? Well IO have 15K calendar entries, which, was taking an hour or two to slow sync (I call it a slow dance) and I was, spending days (maybe a couple of weeks) trying to fix this – and frustration was on the high end.
I removed some of my older recurrences, and changed others from never expire to like 25 maximum occurrences. No idea which one worked, or even if it was a coincidence. However, the UTF-8 error went away, and then I moved to the next issue.
Now, before we get there, with outlook 2007 finding recurrences is not difficult. Go into the calendar, and select appointment or list view (Outlook 2013 list view works ok). You can then sort on the recurrence column and see which (if any) items gave a recurrence pattern. Now maybe someone can figure out specific BAD calendar items that are throwing the exception to give us a better idea of what to look for and then report it so we can do further research.
Now, once we can get the issue out of the way, stop iTunes from throwing an exception, we are not 100% done yet. By this time what is in Outlook and on the iDevice is out of sync. We need to get that message to popup asking us if we want to merge the data between the iDevice and Outlook. This can be important if you don’t want to lose data. My issue is that with iTunes 11.2.2 for some reason won’t do it, i.e. when I select “reset sync history” it doesn’t work. At that point I was forced to rename my iTunesprefs, the syncserver folder, and a few other folders. In this case, for Windows 7 and later, the folders in “Apple Computer” of both the local and roaming paths, and I had to cancel running tasks that had those folders open. One way or another, you want the iTunes message asking if you want to merge the folders.
What can you do to help?
Report success or failures using the information above
Report if you are getting the same UTF-8 message, or if you are seeing other exceptions
Report specific cases of calendar entries that you find that you have isolated to be throwing an exception
Report any other logging/tracing parameters that you may find. It looks like you can turn on “ShouldLog” using the defaults.exe command for other tasks that iTunes runs.
This syncing issue has been going on for years, under different iTunes versions, there has to be something going on and an easier way to troubleshoot this problem. I wish I had the time, but right now I fixed the problem I had and was able to resync my Outlook with my two iPads and iPhone.
The only issue I have left at the moment is the message “the ipad xxx cannot be synced. An unknown error occurred (-54). – despite this error message, I am syncing, but the message is distracting and annoying.

Yes - both have time zone support and are set to London/GMT
The most recent of these aberrations was not even crossing a DST change - just a simple recurring event (which I've manually changed to single events by copy/paste).
I just tried a new one which goes back 1 hr 27 Oct - when UK clocks go back. As it's a dummy apt I'll leave it and see if if goes back to the correct time on 27 Oct! In the meantime, I can't afford for my appts to get screwed up so will continue to do them manually!
    Thanks for your input.

  • Outlook 2013 Sync issue forler has 4000 emails

    Dear All,
we have recently migrated users to exchange online. there was a user who has a large mailbox (11GB approx.) the migration has completed successfully but user's sync folder has more than 4000 objects as duplicated.
any idea on this is highly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi,
Conflicts folder contains all the multiple copies of conflicting items between what are in your local cache (OST) and your mailbox on the server.
An InfoBar at the top of the original item advises you that a conflict for this item exists.
The conflicting item is stored in the Conflicts folder. Clicking the InfoBar will bring up a list of conflicting items and allow you to resolve the conflict by determining which item you want to keep.
If you still need the items which are listed in the Conflicts folder, verify if they still exist in your mailbox and also exist on the server by using OWA.
If they doesn’t exist in your mailbox, you’ll need to move these items to a folder to check if the changes get uploaded now. If you can see these items in the mailbox, you can just cleanup the folder.
In addition, Outlook 2013 contains an improvement as of the April 2014 hotfix to prevent these errors from being saved in the Sync Issues folder, you may install the hotfix to improve the functionality.

  • IPhone / Outlook / Maximizer sync issue

I use Maximizer Entrepreneur CRM v.10 for my calendar, contacts etc. and have it sync'ing with Outlook 2007. It syncs with Outlook fine.
I purchased an iPhone back in March '09 and the MobileMe program and service from Apple. Other than duplicate contacts, Mobile Me was sync'ing my iPhone contacts and calendar correctly from Outlook, which was syncing with Maximizer.
After I did the iPhone firmware update and iTunes update a couple of weeks ago, my calendar is not syncing correctly. It adds 7 hours to appointments in the calendar.
If I add the appointment directly to Outlook, it syncs correctly. When I make an appointment in Maximizer and sync it to Outlook, it shows up in Outlook correctly but adds 7 hours to the appointment time on my iPhone.
I have been using Maximizer for 10 years and this is the main application I need for calendar and contacts. I would like to continue to use it.
I have checked my time zone settings in Windows XP, Outlook, Maximizer, iPhone, iPhone calendar and MobileMe account online - and they are all correct.
The Maximizer to Outlook to MobileMe to iPhone was syncing correctly for months before the iTunes and iPhone updates.
    Any ideas?

  • Windows 7 (64 bit) iTunes 9.2 Outlook 2010 Sync Issues

I’ve noticed bunch of conversations here about issues with the new version of iTunes NOT syncing with outlook contacts / calendars but none of them seem to be resolved. I also have lost my calendar sync since I installed the new iTunes. I have un-installed / re-installed iTunes, tried creating a new PST file, created a new mail account, tried pretty much everything I can think of and nothing works. I have wasted more than 23 hours of my time playing with trying to fix this and I am getting pretty fed up. My question is has ANYBODY actually made it work. I fear we may be wasting our time meaning that there is a bug that no one at Apple cares to acknowledge. Thoughts?

    Hello,
I've been searching through the forum, but did not find someone having a real solution in my situation having the problem as described above. I defintly CANNOT delete all my recurrent appointments! I have about 10.000 elements in my Outlook calender, because I'm really using it for planning my whole business day. Isn't there another solution?
I was syncing my iPad-calender with MS Outlook (2003 SP3) successful during the last days, but "suddenly" (I think, it was after the iTunes Update) the syncing process was silently stopped as beeing successfull, and no appointments were synced anymore.
I already followed the rules to resetting the syncdata history of iTunes and also forced to overwrite the iPads calender, but it still remains as before.
Then I decided to delete the calender by stopping the calender syncing, I mean, I deactivated the hook and then iTunes asked, if I will delete all the data on the iPad, where I then agreed to, as you also describe. Then the calender was successfully emptied, but activating it again after syncing, the OLD state is synced back to the iPad and not my currently modified scheduled appointments from Outlook. This is a miracle, because these are old/deleted data!!! It seems the iPad is just doing a "undo".
I already tried the "Help -> Start diagnosis" feature, this said, everything is fine. So, now I don't know, what to to?! I just want to have my calender synchronized!
Changing the files "ssleay32.dll" and "libeay32.dll" by updating OpenSSL or copying from the iTunes "http://...\Apple\Mobile Device Support"-Folder did not lead to any changes :-/.
    I'm using iTunes v9.2.1.4, iPad iOS 3.2.1, Outlook 2003 SP3.
So is there someone having some more ideas or giving me a hint, where I maybe could read somthing about a possible error in a log or something like that? Maybe, only ONE appointment is "ill"; how could I detect it?
    Regards, Andreas

  • Outlook 2007 syncing issues. Time not correct.

I setup a reoccuring appointment on my iPhone for every saturday 8:00PM to 9:00PM through August. When I synced through iTunes, the appointment appeared in Outlook through August, but set to 4:00pm to 5:00pm. Four hours off. I added another test event in Outlook from 8:00pm to 9:00pm and then synced back to the iphone, it showed up as 12:00am to 1:00am.
Both are set to EST (the iPhone set to Boston, USA)...
    Any ideas?

I had a similar experience when I saw several older meetings that were previously setup in Outlook 2007, that had originated from an Exchange server.
These meetings did not appear correctly on my Palm Treo 680, which is what I have upgraded from (to iPhone). These Exchange-originated meetings never synced properly to my Treo 680 - always came over many hours off of the correct meeting time, though on the correct day.
When I first synced Outlook '07 to my new iPhone the meeting on the iPhone was wrong as well. However, I then modified the meeting on the iPhone and re-synced and (unlike the Treo 680) the meeting is now correct in both places.
So, I am happy with iPhone.
I am holding my breath however for my next business trip to another time zone. For some reason Palm could not get this to work correctly on the Treo.

  • VZN BB 8830 & MS Outlook 2007 Sync Issue

syncing works very well with 1 exception; any prior from current date meetings are deleted from the BB and are also deleted from Outllook.  I want to retain a complete history of all meetings on MS Outlook.  I can't determine what is causing the sync to remove the meetings from Outlook also.  It is ok to remove meetings from BB but not BB.
I am not deleting the meetings on BB.  They are being removed because the date is prior to current date.

I have VZN 8830 but use MS Outlook 2003.  I had a similar problem when I would sync with Outlook, I would lose ALL Outlook calendar info older than two months, even though I selected "use Outlook" as an option somewhere..  I posted on the other forums, but with no luck.  I did stumble across a fix that worked for me, keeping all of my Outlook calendar items in tact.  Here's what I did:  Using the BB Desktop Manager, I connected to the BB, selected "synchronize", selected "configuration" and made sure "mailbox wins" under "synchronize moves and deletes". I went back to the Synchronize tab, selected reconcile messages,  sync organizer data, and update device date and time.  I then selected the sync now button.  the first sync really has the BB take precedence, with a 60 day or so calendar retention limit on the 8830.  So it would wipe out all calendar items older than 60 days on outlook, which sucked.  I found if I select the "resync now" button, it takes another look at it, and puts all of the Outlook data on the BB.  Of course, the next day anything older than 60 days disappeared, but on my BB, not on my Outlook.  I have to to this every time I sync, but i don't lose the Outlook data.  I haven't found a need for calendar items older than 60 days on the 8830, so i did not care if it went away.
You might try the resync, paying attention to the messages on the numbers of records that will go from the BB to Outlook or the other way.  I've been told there is an option to retain all calendar data in the BB, which would (in theory), eliminate the need for the resync, but I cannot find it on mine.
    Good luck.

  • Outlook 2007 Sync Issues with Calendar and Contacts

I have an original iPhone and since the last iTunes update I can no longer sync my Contacts and Calendar in Outlook 2007 with my iPhone. The separate calendars are no longer showing in iTunes as a sync option only the sync all is available. When I plug in my iPhone to sync it will set in the syncing status for one to two hours and has not finished syncing since this update. I have reinstalled Outlook 2007, I uninstalled and re-installed iTunes, I have reset the sync history and any other fixes I have been able to find on the discussion boards. Does anyone know of a resolution to this problem?

I'm having similar problems with both yahoo and google on both my and my wife's Pre 2s. Yahoo calendar sync seemed to be working fine a few weeks ago but now absolutely refuses to do anything on my wife's phone (won't even seem to delete the account properly) and only shows a few things on mine. I've tried with different accounts, removing them, deleting the permissions on the yahoo website, the aeroplane mode trick, and restarting the phone. But the same problem. Phone just says it's syncing for long periods of time but then shows nothing for it. I must have removed and added accounts about 30 times in the last 2 weeks.
Google not syncing back from phone to cloud at all.
This is pretty annoying - I had better functionality on my old treo 650!
    Anyone have any answers?
