BB Messenger COntact List Backup

Hi, hope you can help!!!
I downloaded and installed version 5.0. It gave me an option to backup my contact list with a valid email address, which I did.
Well, now that i updated the device software, my contact list disappeared and when I request the email confirmation in order to restore my contact list THE EMAIL NEVER COMES TO THE PHONE. It comes to my regular Outlook desktop email but not to the phone. I have sent emails to that address to ensure that the email system is working properly and I am receiving email to the phone.
Why can't I get this one email?

E72 Windows Live Messenger Contact List

Hello,
I am trying to set my Windows Live Messenger as default contact list. But it doesnt seem possible. Does anyone knows how to?
I have 3 contact lists in my phone.
1 Telephone contacts
2 Ovi contacts
3 Live Contacts
I also have an issue when selecting the Live Contacts. All three lists are there and selectable, but the Live contact list is blank. That means it doesnt show that it is the Windos Live Contact list.
Reinstalling didnt help!

Just to let u know 3 have recently released a different version of Windows Live Messenger for the N96, u need 2 go into planet 3 on ur phone,then services, then e-mail and social networks, then select msn & then download, I downloaded it yesterday and it appears 2 be working fine!!!
Hope this is of some help, cos until now I know I have found it so frustrating having the N96 but no MSN, looks like now the prob is solved and not forgetting its free to use once downloaded from 3!!!

Messenger contact list problems...HELP!

Hi all...hoping someone can help.
I have an 8320 Curve. I use the BB messenger often but am having a particularly frustrating problem.
One of my friends use to be on my contact list for the BB messenger, but one day she was just gone. So I sent her an invite and it would say pending and she would get it on her end and accept but I never see her in my contact list. We tried her sending me the friend request and I accept but I still don't see her on my contact list.
what's up?
I do have others on the list and have no trouble with them and nor does she.

It sounds like possibly the request isn't making it all the way back to the device when you're adding your friend. I suggest checking out this article to see if it helps you..

How can I backup my iPhone contact list to my personal computer model window 7?

It's possible they may be able to use their equipment to transfer your contacts, but that depends on the amount of damage to the phone, and the equipment and skills of the tech they have available. You won't know until you go to the store and ask.

Adium and Yahoo instant messenger contact lists not working with Leopard

After I installed Leopard, I tried to run Adium. When I tried to click on the icon and pop up my contact list to select a contact, nothing happens. I am now only able to receive messages and reply to received messages. I cannot get my contact list to pop up when clicking the icon in the dock (like I did with Tiger).
I had the same issue when using the latest Yahoo! messenger for Mac. Anyone else seeing this, or know of a fix?

Hello tross415 and welcome to the Palm forums.
What you are seeing is, if I recall correctly, a bug from Palm webOS 1.3.1 that has not yet been addressed. If you launch Messaging on the Pre, and then select Preferences & Accounts > Add IM Acoun you will not get a button to add a Yahoo! IM account.
The work around for this issue, and to add Yahoo IM support to your Pre is to add a Yahoo email or calendar account. When you do, the IM account will also be created. That is the process that worked for me when Palm introduced Yahoo IM support with webOS 1.3.1.

Messenger Contact List Resets

I am having problems after I updated to OS 4.5. I have the AT&T 8310 and downloaded the update directly from Blackberry, not AT&T site. Whenever I take out the battery and I go to messenger it keeps telling me that I have switched to a new device, would I like to update all contacts of my new pin (which is not new). If I do not, then all of my contacts will be erased. The first time I did it I was stuck on one contact pending and it still got rid of any contacts that I did not previously have a conversation with. So I took the battery out and went through the whole process again except said no to updating the contacts. Well I have no contacts now and don't really want to keep bothering them to add me again everytime I have to reset the phone or take out the media card. Has anyone else come across this or knows what to do? Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

Thanks for the reply and suggestions. From doing a lot of searching and trial and error I have found a quick fix. There seems to be a glitch in the software with the new OS and the Content Protection in the Security Options. When you enable the Content Protection this glitch occurs. When you turn the Content Protection off everything is fine. Before I found this out I would just back up the Curve and restore from a previous save with all of my Messenger Contacts but grew tiresome having to do that constantly. So I searched the forums and came across the fix and everything is fine. Of course this is not a true solution to why the glitch is there but is a simple band-aid to the problem. Thank you for your help.

How to load up Blackberry Messenger contact list?

When i had 5.0, i was able to back up my contact list. Now that i'm using 4.7 again, i dont know how to load up that contact list..

there is no automatic thing for this. you have to manually add it from the list again.

What is the maximum number of contacts a single user can have?
I have checked within Console One and the default is set to 100. If I input a number such as 5000 the screen will default to 1000. So does this mean that a single user can only have 1000 contacts in his/her list?

Red checkmark in contact list on website backup assistant

Some of the contacts in my contact list on the website backup assistant contain a red checkmark. What does it mean?

How frequently does VZW update the red check marks in BackupAssistant and/or does the system somehow automatically do it? How accurate are the red check marks or the absence of them in telling you whether those in your contacts are, or aren't Verizon Wireless users?
For instance my wife just came over to Verizon Wireless less than 2 weeks ago, and her entry in my contact list backup is marked with a red check mark.

Empathy not listing Windows Live Messenger contacts

Empathy is not showing Windows Live contacts on the contact list, I still can see if they're online by using gnome-contacts but, weirdly, they don't show up on the list. Another issue is that sometimes I don't recieve their messages, they can read mine, but I can't read theirs. I tried the following:
Reinstalling telepathy-butterfly.
Killing the telepathy-butterfly process (which sometimes made their unread messages to show up).
Full removal of telepathy and empathy.
Setting my WLM account again.
Every other service (Facebook, GTalk...) works fine and shows the contacts on the list, except WLM.
Please help!

Do you see anything in the logs? What about when you start empathy from the terminal do you see any output that might lead you anywhere? I don't use windows messenger so I can't tell you if its working for me. Plus I use pidgin anyways. Just trying to help.

My contact list has disappeared. how do I restore it from a past backup?

My contact list on my iPod touch just disappeared today... for no reason that I can figure out. No other apps seem to have been affected.
I tried sync-ing to my computer, but that didn't change anything.
I would like to find out if I can get ahold of the old contact list (from the previous sync, which was a couple months ago, I think); AND, do I have to go back to that version of everything on my iPod, or can I just grab the contact list only and put it back on my iPod?
I am okay with doing some computer-y things on my own (for example, updating the operating system a while back), but I do not have a lot of self-confidence about these sorts of things, so if you do have an idea about how to fix this, I'll need step-by-step instructions (rather than a general "go back to your old backup" sort of thing).

Firstly, you cannot selectively restore content from your iCloud backup. Secondly, your contacts are not part of your iCloud backup.

If you encrypted the backup, there is no way around it. You will need to configure your iPhone as a new device.
From iTunes: About iOS backups:
In the iTunes Summary screen, select "Encrypt iPhone backup" if you want to encrypt the information stored on your computer when iTunes makes a backup. Encrypted backups are indicated by a padlock icon, and a password is required to restore the information to iPhone. You may want to write down the password for your backup and store it in a safe place. If you use a Mac, when you set a password you can select to store the password in the keychain. With iOS 4 and later, you can transfer the iOS keychain backup to a new device if you encrypt the backup.
Warning: If you encrypt an iPhone backup in iTunes and then forget your password, you will not be able to restore from backup and your data will be unrecoverable. If you forget the password, you can continue to back up and use the device, however you will not be able to restore the encrypted backup to any device without the password. You do not need to enter the password for your backup each time you back up or sync.
If you cannot remember the password and want to start again, you must perform a full software restore and when iTunes prompts you to select the backup from which to restore, choose set up as a new device.
