BB Messenger is installed, but can't find it/use it

Hi,
I've got a BB Curve (8330), from TELUS, OS is v4.3.
A friend sent me a BBM message today, and I can see the smiley face notification on my home screen, but I can't find where to read the message.  I have no BBM icon in my Applications icons (I've clicked SHOW ALL), but I do have BBM 4.3 installed (it is listed in Options-Advanced Options-Applications).
I don't have a Messaging or Instant Messaging folder.
When I open Desktop Manager and go into Application Loader, there are no applications showing.  In case it matters, my Desktop Manager version is 4.7.
I've read several posts in/around this topic, but I'm confused.  How do I access BBM if I can't find the BBM icon?  Why isn't the icon showing when the application is installed?
Thanks,
Ali

  • Lightroom installed but can't find it

    Hi,
I just subscribed to lightroom + photoshop CC plan. I then installed photoshop and lightroom on OsX Maverick from the creative cloud application but can't find the Lightroom app...
I tried to re-install it from the lightroom disk image but it keeps asking me for a password...
How can I start the right (CC) lightroom ? Do I have to download a serial number from a torrent file as so many people do without any issue ?
    Thanks.

I have no experience with the CC applications. But it seems that sometimes the "regular" Lightroom installer fails to create a shortcut for starting the program. Checking your applications folder and see if you can find the Lightroom program. You might have to create your own desktop icon. I'm saying this because I understand from what You wrote that you have already installed Lightroom. Is that correct?

  • Just installed, but can't find the application anywhere?

I just spent 3 hours installing Logic Pro on my new 3.06ghz iMac, and I can't find the program at all. It confirmed that I finished installation and that it was ready to be used, and I can locate the loops (aswell as The Numbers Game, which is on my desktop) but Logic Pro is NOWHERE to be seen. Any clue how I can find it? I followed every instruction in the manual. Someone told me to just open a logic file, then logic would open, but that's not working. Please help me.

Open your harddisk, open the Applications folder, hit command-2, click the Name column and use the alphabet to find *Logic Pro* .

  • Apps installed but can't find them!

I have skygo and BBC I player apps on my iPad but overnight I cannot find the icons for the apps when I try to reinstall the apps it says I already have them installed but I can't find them to delete to then reinstall! Help me please where have they gone? Ps I have checked my folders and can't see them in there.... Hope someone can help.......

If you can't find them on any of your homescreens or app folders, and you can't find them via the spotlight search screen (swipe your first home screen to the right), then are they hidden by an app age rating in Settings > General > Restrictions > Apps ?
If not then have you tried a reset to see if you can find them after the iPad has restarted ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot. You could also do Settings > General > Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout which will re-arrange your apps and might make them easier to find

  • T-Bird requires new install but can't find original mail account - help!

I've been running ThunderbirdPortable for about 3 months and now, all of a sudden the executable won't start. The message recommends that I re-install which I did in the same directory as the original (as recommended) but when I start the new executable it does not link to my original mail account.
How can I "tell" my new installation where my original account data can be found.

  • Oracle text installed but can't find anything through the text indexes

    Hello,
    i've got a Oracle 10G (10.2.0.4) database 64bit on a Windows 2003r2 64bit (sp2). I also installed the Oracle Text:
    Oracle Text
    VALID 10.2.0.4.0
then I created some preferences and created the text indexes:
    create index afindex on docs(document) indextype is ctxsys.context parameters('storage gdoc_store SYNC (ON COMMIT)');
so with the syn on commit, it should immediately be seen in the index.
I have for example in 1 table 6 documents (word, pdf ...), the other has more then 64000 documents and the 3rd one more than 425000.
In none of the 3 above, searching on text gives result after index is created. Not in the developer his program nor in sqlplus.
    searching sql for example:
    select id from docs where contains(doc,'hello')>0;
under the c:\windows\temp, I see about 380files with drgibXXXXX, so it does index them?
    What could be the problem?
note that I've got lots of other database where I also use Oracle text and there is no problem, only difference is the 32 <-> 64bit.
    error in ctx_index_error is :
DRG-11207: user filter command exited with status 1
    Edited by: user12155961 on 15-apr-2010 5:33

According to the [http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/text.102/b14218/afilsupt.htm#sthref2446|10.2 docs], Auto Filter is supported on the following platforms:
    Microsoft Windows
    o Server 2003 (x86 and IA-64)
    o XP (Service Packs 1 and 2)
    o 2000 x86 (Service Pack 2)
    o NT 4.0 x86 (Intel) (Service Pack 6a)
    Sun Solaris 8.0 and 9.0
    HP-UX 11.0 and 11i, PA-RISC
    HP-UX 11i v11.23, IA-64
    IBM AIX 5.1 and 5.2L
Red Hat Linux 7.3 and 8.0
Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS 2.1 and 3.0 (x86)
Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS 3.0 (IA-64)
SuSE Linux Standard Server 8 (x86)
Note x84 and IA-64 (Itanium 64) but not x86-64. So I suspect that you don't get the filters at all.
If this is the case, your options are either to install a 32 bit version of Oracle for Windows (which I believe should work fine on 64 bit Windows) or to attempt to cobble the 32 bit ctxhx into your 64 bit environment. I'm sure this should be possible, but it would be unsupported and I don't have any kind of "how to" on doing it.

  • HT5037 I've downloaded iPhoto Library upgrader and run the install but can't find the app to run it. Consequently, I cannot open iPhoto. I upgraded from 7 to the latest version to get my photo books feature back. Has Apple been bought out by Microsoft?

Please help... cannot access my photos...

More details would help more then snit remarks about Apple being bought out by Microsoft.
Such as if you have relocated iPhoto from /Applications.

  • I want to run apple Hardware Test but can't find it on any CD's.  I bought my iMac in 2009.  I think it had 10.4 installed.  It's not on my installation disk.  Where can I find it?

I want to run Apple Hardware Text but can't find it on any CD's.  I bought my iMac in 2009.  It came with 10.4.  Apple Hardware Test is not on the installation disk.  Should I have it?  Where can I find it?  I"m now running 10.7.4.

    The disc plainly state:
To  use the AHT, hold down the D key as the computer starts up.
Works here. However, there was an issue with installing Lion that screwed this process up.
Mount disc 2, run this command in the Terminal app, OPTION-click & hold Finder's Dock icon, and select RELAUNCH:
    defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles 1
    That unhides all hidden files/folders.
Now, drill down to /"Applications Install\ Disc"/System/Library/CoreServices/ and drag the .diagnostics folder into your Lion boot volume's /System/Library/CoreServices/ folder. That might require you to authenticate to copy the folder into the CoreServices subfolder.
Run this command to hide the normally hidden files/folders and RELAUNCH the Finder again.
    defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles 0
This should allow the machine to boot into AHT when restarting and holding down the D key.
If that doesn't do the trick, run this command in the Terminal app:
    sudo chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/CoreServices/.diagnostics
At the Password: prompt, carefully type in your admin password, since nothing shows up on the screen, and hit the return key. Then, try another restart, holding down the D key.

  • How can I create a start up disk for a old intel core duo running 10.5.8.. Computer works fine, but can't find install disk.

How can I create a start up disk for a old intel core duo running 10.5.8.. Computer works fine, but can't find install disk. Want to use internal disk drive or USD flash drive.

Try calling 1-800-676-2775.  Give the serial number and thy *may* still burn you new install disks designed just for the hrdware in your system (for a fee, something like $160 per disk).  *May* is only because they may not burn disks for Leopard anymore.
If they do not burn them for you, you can buy Leopard disks off Amazon or eBay for about $200.
Have you considered Snow Leopard?.  Those disks only cost $19 (single user) or $29 (5-user license) through Apple by calling 1-800-MY-APPLE.

Yet another example of why it's a VERY BAD IDEA to do a clean install of Lion unless you are already VERY familiar with how to tweak the Mac OS. There's a reason Apple engineers removed it as an option. To accomplish it you have to erase your disk; not for the faint hearted.
Do you have a backup? PLEASE don't tell us you did this without a robust backup.
You erased the operating machine, so your computer went to the only place it could find one, the Recovery partition. And it's minimal, so it has to download everything in small chunks to reinstall itself. So yeah, it could take 10 hours.
Here's another option. Do you still have the original disks that came with your machine? Put one in and restart from it. You can reinstall your old system much faster. Then go to the Mac App Store and your purchase history and see if you can redownload Lion (I think that still works).
And this time just do yourself a favor and install per Apple's instructions. When the machine starts into Lion, use Setup ***'t (the first thing that fires up) to migrate from your backup.

  • Installed Myspace but can't find it.....

I installed the Myspace app to my phone but can't find the icon anywhere. I know it uploaded because it's in my applications list but the icon isn't on my home screen. I tired rebooting by taking out the battery and such, but NOTHING! Can anyone help? Thanx in advance.

Ok, so I've been struggling with this issue for months. I was looking around today on here and didn't find much information. But, I took a couple of different things and tried them. I'm not sure WHICH helped, but here is what I did and MySpace just uploaded successfully on my Blackberry Curve.
I deleted the MySpace Application from the App List (Options (The wrench)-Advanced Options-MySpace-Menu Button-Delete)
    I restarted my phone
I changed the theme from the AT&T to the BB Dimension Zen (Options-Theme- BB Dimension Zen)
I logged onto my Browser and went to www.myspace.com
I clicked on the "Download MySpace for your Blackberry" or whatever it says
Before I clicked "Download", I checked the "Set Application Permissions" box.
    I clicked "Download"
It took me to the Application Permissions
I changed the first two from "Custom" to "Allow"
I hit the back arrow on my phone
    I chose "Save"
    It started downloading
When it was finished, MySpace was listed under my Applications and is WORKING!!! HALLELUJAH! I'm not sure WHICH of those seemingly MANY steps made it work, but it did!
Let me know if it does for you too!

  • When updating itunes I get the message the install package can't find a file (itunes.msi) I've searched but can't find this file.  How do I install it?

When updating itunes I get the message the install package can't find a file (itunes.msi) I've searched but can't find this file.  How do I install it?

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?
